I'm sure it's in here somewhere, but how do I run Gridseed 5 Chip miners on both SHA and Scrypt on 2 different pools through BFGMiner?
My understanding is that while the Gridseed ASIC supports both algorithms, the 5-chip orb is not designed to support SHA2 (due to heat).
Regardless, BFGMiner does not support running it in SHA2 mode.

it won't i had one or two it will but if your not careful you can cook it , using both modes, if that' s the pod ?, it is poss but don't it's a  waste of power and needs major cooling.

might have to use a older version of bfg or bfg and cg for both modes to gather or find a bfg fork that has both modes on by default ,same with cg .

Hi,

That's was what I was following:
https://github.com/nwoolls/MultiMiner/wiki/Network-Devices
anyway thanks!
This is the minera without any change in the S5's:

And this is the directory of the S5:

The most "similar" file is the "cgminer.sh" and even that one has nothing inside.
I'm using the "vi" to edit the files.

All the best,

Geotete

For minera follow this https://github.com/michelem09/minera/wiki/Network-mining-devices That's for multiminer and right now till bFG 5.4 comes out the only software miner that works inside or with a S5 and stays after reboot is CG miiner . BFG has a test version out for S5 's that works but the working non beta version is  due this weekend luke said  Muntiminer will work with S5's as a monitor mostly same as minera.  to be honest Ive been tiring to figure out what your tiring, so i guess it's best to ask at this point .

SSH into the AntMiner S5 the user is root and the password is admin

will 5.4 stay in the S5 on reboot or do i have to find someone that knows how to compile one of bitmians images and replace cgminer or  learn it my self which im gonna do either way because i want to . just wondering how that's gonna work inside in a S5, btw, can't wait .
Someone will need to add it to a firmware image for it to stay permanently.

cool ok  why I'm asking is it's gonna be hard to reboot and test out stuff one or two of my S5 will just stop or under hash for no reason and there is nothing wrong with them it not on you i know it's bitmain firmware it self which will never be fixed, that gonna be a pain, not complaining, time to learn a new how to  .
2104  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fanilly had a 220 30 amp line out in best thing ever on: October 21, 2015, 03:21:45 PM
er forgot to mention it probably was (inspector on hand etc) a 'city' ordinance ...univ town..thus landlords probably electrocuting self....but that was the rate ..(or I looked like a soft touch)

but yeah if i'd know what you did (duh) i prob would have done the same...as it was i squeaked by.....so its prob for the best

for those of you just needing a 32 port panel ..the charge for that complete was 500 bucks..guess that is more common ..thought they'd screw me on that but probably the 2500 bucks is the electrican's are taking in to account ..if we have to stand around all AM talking to the xcel guys till the electrical inspector shows up or not....this is wtf we are gonna charge for service install in this town

but if i do decide to do it someday I'll try your method ..but doubt it now so ..hell at least saved 1300 bucks compared to you (dumb and lucky always my 'idiot' back up plan) Smiley

[/quote]

I think the first guy we had come in thought i was he wanted 1600 to put in a new box  that's what it cost in this state with permits to up the service and put in a new box . i knew what hes was up to, so i played along till he left and went looking . were the type people if you come in our hosue and it's time for a meal, you have join us etc we won't take no for a answer. so what if we are paying you to have work done .

but in this state the going rate for a new box is 700 to 1k, i could have got it done for 700 or less if I put in for bids at one of the sites but i hate doing that but  to up the service in this state, it starts around 1300 and can go up to 2500 tops with permits, depending what you need how bad off you are etc .
2105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fanilly had a 220 30 amp line out in best thing ever on: October 21, 2015, 03:16:48 PM
is "fanilly" a new bitcoin meme like HODL,   Smiley ?

keep it as is, maybe it will be become one...

2106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BM1384 Pod Miner plus trade-in/recycling - an interest and feasibility poll on: October 21, 2015, 02:42:34 PM
So, who thinks I should put a cap on how many S5 boards a person can trade for pods? What should that cap be? Five? Ten? I know right now only 8 survey respondents have selected the straight trade option, but I'm also told that the market value for dead S5 boards has been increasing since this thread appeared because people are buyi
Also, y'all will be pleased to note that I made absolutely no progress on this or any other project today.

DO a poll ?  . if you need to do it make it 8 to 10  Smiley .  10 is 2 th worth of power ? . there gonna sell like hot cakes

you all ready care enough to want to keep home mining going shouldn't that be enough ?. you won't be a party to someone getting screwed, that's like those fools who kept buying into per orders after they got ripped off 4 or more times, yet they kept doing it then complained, once would have been enough for me and it happen once and only one time to me, so now i just wait and watch but i was smart enough to use the right payment and got my money back etc . but once was enough kind of why i don't like buying direct from bitmain, no way of a refund if they go bad, that's a you never know with them .

You can't stop it . Smiley . it's goona happen with or with out a limit some one is going to try and do it, some fool/unknowing players will get ripped off regardless  Wink .it  just will happen . your miner are that good and can  make a lot of money for those yow hos.

PS how ever you take what i said , it's the truth, it will happen either way , do care, but don't over care, it will worry you more .
2107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BM1384 Pod Miner plus trade-in/recycling - an interest and feasibility poll on: October 20, 2015, 05:36:16 PM
They appear to be talking about the same Lketc miners in the bottom-end 3TH version - this is NOT a bloody USB stick, whoever came up with that concept needs to go back to school and learn some basic math.

The quote was in BTC, not $ - though even the quoted 0.87B per miner seems a little low even as a batch price, it WOULD be nice and competative and would make RoI on these things achievable!

"per chip" does not specify "per miner".

actually it is 'reading comprehension" in that I'm sick and miss read both the BTC (i saw usd) and the  'per chip" where it was 'per chip per miner'

heh....shoot me (please sick as a dog!) Sorry about the confusion. But it is gonna be 'quite the war' of the giants imho.

can't wait but not till winter next year Sad .hoping to see real cheap miners then if it doesn't happen, i some how see bitmain getting even more greddy and selling 12 th miner for 3 k and we pay like fools ..

but isn't that how it is with no one to stop them .  if SP or Avalon or LK had come out with some thing about the time S7 came out , we would see then around 400 or 500 they would more then likely be selling chips , sense on one is out there atm to go against them they can do what ever they want to .

SO quite the war it will be if more start  selling to the public the money is there , just will they at a nice price Smiley .

I'm about to buy a OpenWRT  switch/router and learn that as well . my verizon router model #  no one has a way of doing yet but the model it self can be done just not the batch # router i have  or id have it at OpenWR, i own that router.

Does Minera works on the Orange Pi (Raspberry Pi Clone)?

http://www.orangepi.org/orangepipc/

it will i have it running on a bananapi , cubieboard 1 and a few other pis .

hm  orange PI are cheap, cheaper then PI2 i may buy a few they come with A7 or better chips .
2110  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Would i be better off waiting for the 16nm miners? on: October 20, 2015, 04:24:45 PM
nice next year a 3 th miner for 241 USD  or so hope so then bitmain will either lose out ,stop selling to the public or lower there price  . Smiley . Sidehack can get some deals on chips etc if this even happens.

The halfing in 2016 won't be so bad it's not that bad with LTC . to me it won't be bad till we really can't mine much in coins and Miners only get fees, that's how many years away, i won''t be a live.
2111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Fanilly had a 220 30 amp line out in best thing ever on: October 20, 2015, 01:07:20 PM
it cost me 800 buck to put in a new box and rerun the old 240 line to a better place, in my state you don't need to call the power company , or get a permit as long as nothing is done to the existing service if I went to a 400 amp service then i would have needed a permit had to let the Power company know etc right now I don't see me needing anymore then 200 amp were it's at now , the way it looks i can run a lot of miner like maybe 12 on this line then another 12 on another line then i would need to up the service . I think with my service i can get a way with using that much on two lines before i would need a 400 amp service.Smiley .
2112  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the most profitable asic miner? on: October 19, 2015, 06:43:42 PM
usb asic miners are pretty useless, buy at least S5 it will be profitable a few more months......maybe  Cheesy
How about if my current rate is 0.238$ then how much is s5? it will be profitable in my electrycity current rate?

s5 around 320 or higher if you shop around every now then you can get one below 300 . buts that rare atm .

is that 23 cents a KWH Polly not sorry to say .if you meant 2 cents then yea it will be .
2113  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the most profitable asic miner? on: October 19, 2015, 06:34:53 PM
right now the antminer s7 is but if sidehack can get a hold of chips of any kind of the new ones form anyone ,his will be but they are meant more for home miners. Smiley.

Still working on the PCB layout. Not sure if I mentioned or not but we expanded the board size a bit to make it actually possible to manufacture in a single-sided board and still have room  for a CPU cooler with mounting and clearance and stuff. Current dimension are 10x15cm, about 4x6 inches.

The mount holes I'm putting in are the proper spacing for LGA115x coolers. One thing to note, however, is that our ASICs stand between 35 and 40 thousandths of an inch (about 0.9mm) above the PCB. An unmodified CPU cooler is likely to sit well above this point, being as it's used to mating with a fairly thick processor in a fairly thick socket. With this in mind, I've added some extra holes which line up to some direct mounting on the Freezer 7 (since that's what I'm referencing) and also making sure to keep clearance around the chips to use lower-profile coolers like stock Intel i-series (which I don't recommend for near full speed operation since they have a round core and corner chips will probably run hot). Basically, I'm trying to give options without going crazy.

My test board will have some added instrumentation like output current measurement and extra pads to directly measure and manipulate. It's likely some of this won't be on the final version, unless y'all really want the functionality (at slightly added parts cost). If I don't run into issues with time management, I should be able to order some prototype boards tomorrow and they'd be in by probably middle of next week. During that interrim I have some other design tasks and some manufacturing to take care of.

After we have some working prototypes and the firmware is finished and tested, I'll raffle off at least one of the prototype pods and start taking in funds for a full batch. I don't know yet how big a full batch will be, but it looks like there's interest and materials enough already to merit about 100.

What about using some of the high end thermal pads with slight adhesion- I know the Phobya has some thermal pads that are in the 7 W/mK and the lower end Phobya is 5 W/mK.  I have never tried thermal pads with ASICS but it cannot be as bad as some of the manufacturers using a gallon of thermal compound.  I ask because it would alleviate the need for cooler mounting holes.

grindseeds, ASICMiner Block Erupter Tube and other miners use them in fact you can still buy the ones used for ASICMiner Block Erupter Tube here https://www.wtcr.ca/catalog/product/bm-amtbp-01 not sure how good they are or whats good but about find out the best ones to use.
2115  Bitcoin / Hardware / Fanilly had a 220 30 amp line out in best thing ever on: October 19, 2015, 06:13:02 PM
The Electrician just finished up and left after he installed a 30 slot box with 5 slots  still open, finally got my 220 30 amp line hocked up to the PDU with monitoring , it's awesome .
I had a 220 30 amp put in a while back but didn't feel safe with it, so it never got used, i was using a few 120 20 amp lines, because of the mess the main box was in, now I feel a lot safer .Smiley, will use it.

Nice the S5's run better Smiley.

Thinking of plugging some into my work computer... heheheh

this one is but it only works with Sha type coins.

For 256 sha altcoin mining if want to give that a shot, those two are about the best ones Ive found for that type of mining . i don't altcoin mine much any more, it's not really worth it unless you use Script miners.

I've been using this for some time now, if you ask they should add CK'spool, it tracks well, if set right should track all this for you .you may need a  Premium Account, but to me it's really cheap . one way that might work .

https://cryptfolio.com/

cost is for a  Premium Account, it's free other wise .

0.01 BTC per month, or 0.1 BTC per year

 looks like it would work.

I will play with a free account  then upgrade it to premium if I can configure it in a good manner.

I'm sure it will, if they add CKpool to the list then it will for sure. they may even give a way, i couldn't find it, if they do, other then ask Smiley .
