@swiftxi, first of all, ref links in posts are prohibited, so edit the post and remove the link - and secondly, this topic is not suitable for this board - look for the move button and move the topic to -> Exchanges

I rolled 10 000, only in reverse, and not for the first time Tongue - maybe freebitco could make some symbolic prizes for numbers like this, or when someone rolls 1111, 2222 and similar. Congratulations to all the lottery winners from last week, some were really lucky with a small number of tickets.

2103  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 22, 2023, 10:52:50 AM
I'm curious about the forum's membership reduction and what can be to blame. A community with 3.5 million registered users has 2.7 million banned/nuked accounts, 700k accounts are dormant, and just 56k individuals have been active for the past three months.

I would never look at these numbers as something important, because as others have already written, it is not about unique users, but about numbers that largely result from the fact that many have created tens or even hundreds of btt accounts and then they abuse various signature/bounty campaigns. Many of these members tried to rank those accounts in such a way that they plagiarized everything that could be plagiarized, and then someone started a bot that did a big cleanup and a huge number of btt accounts were banned in a very short time.

After 2018 and the merit system, many people gave up on creating btt farm accounts, and more or less all the shitposters gave up on the forum because they no longer had the financial motivation to be here. In essence, those 56k btt accounts you mention are quite a realistic number for one forum, considering that forums are not something that attracts new generations.
2104  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Passport Official Thread on: May 21, 2023, 02:06:35 PM
@foundationdvcs, it would be good to check the links of your resellers now that many have decided to find a replacement for Ledger&Trezor. I was happy when I saw that one of the IT stores in my country sells you HW, but such a product does not exist in their store (unfortunately) - link. Also, the prices at other shops (EU) are still unchanged, even the prices are over 300 EUR.

Question for those who ordered directly from the US to the EU, how much extra did you pay for shipping costs, customs, VAT?

Do not download files like the one above, there is a high probability that you will get some malware instead of an account!
2106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: May 21, 2023, 12:50:43 PM
The more crypto-related companies and businesses move into the country, the better. I think El Salvador's economy will be booming within a decade from now. I wouldn't be surprised if established players from the US like Coinbase and Kraken also move there sometime in the future. The US is becoming hostile against crypto/Blockchain tech, leaving crypto exchanges no choice but to move their operations elsewhere.
~snip~

Maybe, maybe not, because every serious company is looking for long-term stability, above all the political stability that a country like El Salvador can hardly provide. What apparently few pay attention to is the possibility that Bukele and his ruling party may not be re-elected in the next elections, although some will say that they currently have no opposition to fear.

It seems to me that such large companies would not move their headquarters to such countries, but it is all a matter of lobbying and politics, which means that everything depends on what conditions El Salvador would offer them.
2107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: May 21, 2023, 10:30:45 AM
~snip~
For France it is 16 WC participations with 2 titles and 10 UEFA Euro participations with 2 titles. For Croatia it is 6 participations in each tournament and the best result was the runner-up in 2018 at the WC and two times quarter finalists at the UEFA Euro with the last one being in 2008.

If you are already going into history, then it should be mentioned that the modern Croatian state was created in a bloody defensive war in 1991, and during that period it won third place at the world championship in France (1998), second place in Russia (2018), and third place in Qatar (2022). Therefore, Croatia, as a country of only 3.8 inhabitants that has existed for just over 30 years, has historically achieved fantastic results at world championships, and mostly with domestic players with the exception of one Brazilian (Eduardo da Silva), while France mainly relies on players who come from colonized countries, and it was never clear to me why they don't play for their homelands, which every player should do if they have chance.

Maybe disabled it to get RPs instead?

That's because Betwrong has disabled getting lottery tickets.
You can go to your profile and check "Disable lottery" option. With doing so, you will get reward points instead of lottery tickets.

Thanks for the explanation, I really didn't know that option existed, and maybe I could use it myself sometimes - of course if it is possible to turn on/off the option whenever you want. Although I have been a user since 2014 or 2015, it seems that I will have to study all the options a little more Smiley
2109  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Alert] Someone sending emails "Donate to Bitcoin Forum" on: May 21, 2023, 09:52:48 AM
~snip~
I haven't received any email. So, it seems the hacker is using the email list from 2015 hack.

I have also never received such an e-mail, which only goes to the fact that someone is using the database of accounts that were hacked somewhere around 2015, and considering that many changed their e-mails after that and that many from that period are no longer active, I think that this "hacker" just wasted his time.

In addition, everyone who is active on the forum should know that donations of this type are no longer possible, or it just seems to me that I read that somewhere?
2110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HyperBitcoinization Coming, Says Adam Back, Do you Agree? on: May 20, 2023, 02:34:55 PM
For someone who has been around for a long time and doesn't have a short memory, I can only say that this is another cheap PR for the man and the company he represents. Unfortunately, if someone thinks that we have 1 million people who own 1 BTC and is happy about it, then they are really living in a big delusion, because one person or one company can have 10 000 BTC located in 10 000 addresses, so this whole methodology makes sense as well as the fact that millions of BTC were lost because they did not move from the specified address for x years.

I can only agree that such data cannot help us to objectively see the true picture, no matter how much some try to convince us otherwise.
2111  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina raises interest rate to 97% as it struggles to tackle inflation on: May 20, 2023, 02:23:47 PM
Maybe it's Fahrenheit?  Roll Eyes
Quite the coincidence but 97F is around the normal human body temperature, so, it makes sense, they are heating up the workers to be more productive!  Grin

The OP seems to be on the right track, the numbers may be strange and the units are wrong, but in today's world interest rates and temperature can be in some strange correlation Cool

How about not, people who have f**** their own country with their stupid votes should stay there rather than go to a different country and do the same, but it's a bit too late, it's already happening as I see the ones fleeing collapsing countries for a better life here advocating for the same stuff that made them flee in the first place.

The thing is that people who elect a bad government do not actually leave the country, because they do it out of personal interest and it is good for them that corruption and nepotism continue, of course from the party that enables them to do so. In addition, people who have come to another country do not have the right to vote in elections because they are foreign citizens, so they are not the ones who can change anything, except that they can irritate the local population with their behavior.

I say this from the perspective of a small man who is not part of the ruling elite, and all his life he is told that he must make sacrifices and that he will get better - but in fact his life is getting worse, and the only way to change that is to go to another country.
2112  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance support employees help customers in China bypass KYC. on: May 20, 2023, 01:47:26 PM
Unfortunately, many people live in difficult living conditions and are ready to sell their identity even for much less than $200, and it seems that this business is flourishing at the moment. I read the article and according to everything it says, no CEX has an effective way to check who is actually behind which account, because the services offered are really "professional", and with the help of new technologies, especially AI, fake documents are made even easier.

Even on this forum, we can find members who sell verified accounts on various exchange platforms, and the article also mentions specialized forums that deal exclusively with this.
2113  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: May 20, 2023, 01:19:44 PM
@Betwrong, congratulations on the win, although $20 is not a lot, you were still very close to the main prize - and this is the first time I've heard that an additional prize is won - because it definitely did not happen before when I won that prize several times.

What interests me is the fact that you didn't win a single lottery ticket in that roll, but the rules say that you get 2 lottery tickets for each roll - and it doesn't make much sense to me that they canceled that for the biggest prizes?
2114  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina raises interest rate to 97% as it struggles to tackle inflation on: May 20, 2023, 12:58:12 PM
On Venezuela and Zimbabwe's linear and after the federal raised the main interest rates by five percentage points over the past months, the Argentine Central Bank raised the main interest rate on Monday by six degrees Celsius to 97 % in an attempt to treat high inflation that reached its highest level in 30 years.

You've mixed things up a bit, because what does celsius have to do with interest rates, unless you think some people got a fever from a 6% increase Roll Eyes

What is your recommendation to countries in such cases?

I would recommend that people stay in the shade as much as possible, because such high temperatures are not at all good for health Cool Joking aside, there's nothing clever to say when things are going downhill, and there don't seem to be too many people in that country who think that something can be changed. Bad politicians and the people who elect bad politicians are a disastrous combination, I have personal experience with such a society and the only smart thing I can say is - anyone who wants to be saved should leave such a country as soon as possible.
2115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: obsolete bitcoin investment advices [change needed] on: May 20, 2023, 10:44:10 AM
~snip~
In today's bitcoin, we know that if you invest with your spare money you may never make any fortune from bitcoin.

You see, this is the opinion of the majority of those who want to buy Bitcoin, they do it exclusively for profit, not for the reason why Bitcoin exists. I don't know how all these people are supposed to get rich if Bitcoin doesn't fulfill its primary function.

~snip~
Who has ever lost in bitcoin? I do not find this advice pleasant to bitcoin. Although, this is a kind of general advice for assets that are volatile.

Many lost, some less, some more - but not only in the way you imagine. It's not just volatility and the wrong decision when to buy and when to sell, but also countless scams, hacks, forgotten passwords or thrown hard disks and the like. Therefore, people should be warned about all these dangers and risks even today, although it will seem unnecessary to some, I think it's much worse to pretend that such things don't happen.

3. DYOR (Do your own research):
This advice should be for altcoin investors. If I may ask, what kind of research is one, especially a newbie expected to make in bitcoin. Are they researching the road map of bitcoin or are they researching the developers behind it? The right thing is to know when to buy. Simply buy low and sell high.
~snip~

Someone can research as much as they want, but there are so many lies and deceptions in all of this that you have to be a great expert to find out what is true and what is a lie. The facts are that less than 5% of those who trade cryptocurrencies make a profit, everyone else mostly loses.

Bitcointalk has no direct connection with Electrum either, but a warning to all users was still issued when a vulnerability was discovered that proved fatal for many. Although this is not an identical situation, people should be warned about the potential risk that comes with using hardware wallets given the new information that has come to light recently.

To begin with, a few links that may be useful :

LTC Casino-official BTT topic
LTC CASINO Resolved
TrustPilot

I don't know how people come up with such casinos, but to me it doesn't look convincing at all, and even less professional - for those who like challenges in terms of drama around withdrawing funds and the like, it seems like an ideal opportunity Wink
2118  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The EU is on the verge of creating a new AML regulator that will oversee crypto on: May 19, 2023, 02:53:32 PM

The Bad things is privacy and of course if everything need to be licensed this gonna make crypto Centralized right?

I have nothing against the rules being clearly established, and the rules for companies being tightened to the extent that only serious ones can do business in that sector. As for privacy, I wouldn't worry too much about that question, because most investors have nothing against the way they use CEX today, and those who want more privacy will always find a way to do it.

The best thing they could do now is to open source their firmware right away, this will at least delay the inevitable collapse and allow them to exit the market with some dignity and fewer lawsuits.

I think there is less than a 1% chance of that, because all these years they have not shown their intention to be completely transparent, so I don't see why they would do it now. In addition, they believe that the future 100 million users will support them in what they do, and in addition, they will have the gratitude of all the mothers of the world (read previous posts for reference), so I believe that they are not worried about their business, and even less about possible lawsuits. Nothing major happened after the database leak, right?
2120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: May 19, 2023, 10:15:56 AM
It makes sense what you said
Speaking from the economic point of view and the interests of FIFA / UEFA, it is not in their interest for Croatia to be a champion for example
We fans really like to see teams that are not favorites, being champions or ending in a good position in championships
But FIFA would make much more money having a champion like Germany, Spain or England, than Croatia.

Exactly, because the country that has been in the game longer earns more, not only the football association of that country, but also the entire economy of that country, considering how much the fans in those countries spend during the time they support their team.

It's sad to hear this, I don't live in Europe, so there are things that we only learn about via TV or internet
If the conditions are not that good, the whole Croatian team deserves even more for having made it this far.

The president of UEFA was at our main stadium last year and here is what he said:

Quote
"We have been talking about this for a long time, with President Kustić, now he is a little more concrete. But governments and local areas must help with that. The stadium is shameful, especially because one of the stands is closed. It is a miracle that Dinamo in such a stadium achieves excellent results. We give all football associations a penny for infrastructure. In Slovenia, for example, UEFA provided 80 percent of the funds for stadiums.
Source

In the last years the team that is most talked about, apart from the ones that are already world champions, is Belgium, but if you analyze the results, Croatia has been better.
And finally, I think Croatia has the best chance at the moment to be Nations League champion. The title is within reach, it is possible to beat Netherlands and it is also possible to beat Spain or Italy.

However, if you look at the odds at most bookmakers, you can see that they (again) gave Croatia the least chance of winning the first place, and they even set the Netherlands as a big favorite in the first game. This is a sample from our local bookmaker.
