2121  Other / Meta / Re: Querying bitcointalk from script on: December 10, 2022, 01:34:49 PM
I bet @Tryninja, @mprep and @LoyceV and other forum tech geeks can answer you about this, mentioning them might be a big help.

After some research, although i don't know exactly about the script you're trying to make, but here's an answer from @Tryninja for the telegram bot he made for probably scrapping data from bitcointalk, i don't know actually.
-What's the frequency of the scrapping? giammangiato's is 5 minutes for merits and 1 for quotes; and it sometimes takes a lot longer to do so.
Mentions/quotes every 5 seconds.
Merits every 25 seconds with a delay per each user. edit: increased to 30 seconds + 5 seconds  per user.

I tested and it's quite faster than the one from giammangiato (noticed 1 min VS 30 min merit notification with few users, besides the complete merit information). Not that it matters a lot (no competition here), but it's still nice.

Edit: Wew, lol. Seems like it take a lot for me to type this reply, while all the mentioned guys already made a reply.
2122  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Apple blocks Coinbase wallet release on IOS on: December 09, 2022, 04:47:38 PM
We definitely need a third player which supports a better app store. Maybe Elon can deliver this.
There are a lot of alternatives for digital distribution service out there actually, well, only for android apps.
Android is open source OS which also means that any app made for android phones can be installed whether the source of the apps is play store or not.

App store is way different because it is completely like a centralized platform, that only approved apps on app store can only be installed on its OS nothing else. So apple don't have a choice but to follow apple rules on its device.
2123  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Chips.gg Scammer !! on: December 09, 2022, 04:33:16 PM
This user was flagged by our sportsbook provider and their account was limited automatically due to this. After investigation, we determined that this user's flag and limitations were warranted for abusing the sportsbook option at Chips.
Can you give more specific answer of the "abuse" made by OP aside from generic and one sided terms? Which always "reserve your rights" in anything without giving enough explanation on the other party. It always just because you detected it as an abuse for whatever parameters and etc. So whats the abuse made particularly?

I rarely see casino explains enough about the abuse made by the accused users. So it's fair enough to ask you since you respond here.
2124  Economy / Gambling / Re: A way to attract new users or a misunderstanding? on: December 09, 2022, 09:04:17 AM
Is this just a misunderstanding of what web 3 actually is? Or it's a way to attract people/users to make them think that their platform is more advanced?.
It's just a word of mouth marketing and others just riding the hype, nothing really is decentralized when it comes to website operation. Not unless the website hosting server is fully decentralized too.

Web3 asking KYC? Yeah, how ironic, right? But of course for the sake of hype, let's just let them and give chance on how they can change the traditional online casino. But i still withhold of sites asking KYC first on the registration especially for a new site. Not unless you win huge $xx,xxx amount and that is the time they will ask for verification, fair enough.

**Move this to gambling discussion, to avoid getting trashed and complain later on.
2125  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Chips.gg Scammer !! on: December 09, 2022, 08:36:37 AM

Same thought in mind here , but I think there is a good explanation from the team of chips.gg about this  as they have been here in business for years now

just wondering why there are several cases or issues recently comes out for chips? like this one in which both from newbie account.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5423038.0

but it turns out that the OP is in question about not telling the truth .

and the other one is about this year ago but yes they did pay the claimant

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5343077.0
Bitcointalk ranks does not matter, it is an external account — a casino account. The number of years a casino operation does not matter as well. There are lots of them who have once with good reputation then sucks later on.

The case OP looks like legit based on the screenshot and it's a very lame excuse for what the support answered. This is a unique case from other casino issue i have read actually, that's why a representative/community manager should be heard here or any gambling community/forum, why this is possible.
2126  Other / Meta / Re: The long waited Nickname has been given (The Sceptical Chymist) on: December 09, 2022, 07:47:06 AM
Yep, he just realized it here[1] lol.

For those who asked about the former The Sceptical Chymist, he is now @fbeyvgnobo, what a username made by theymos lol. Here's his post on the request thread[2], with the quotes confirming his former username.

2127  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Chips.gg Scammer !! on: December 09, 2022, 07:39:26 AM
Meanwhile, I uploaded 3 level KYC documents in my account and it was approved On 9.12.2022, A person named Anderson from live support said that
I was abusing Rollbit, which is the same infrastructure but another site, and said that they would delete all my wins from his account and close my membership.
What a bummer, they are not the same casino, whatever someone did on other platform is not their business anymore while talking on their platform's chat . Is this really how support works? Or this is also a decision of the casino as well. @chipsgg if you care maybe you can explain more what happened here.
2128  Other / Meta / Re: Does BitcoinTalk kill all my sessions when I logout? on: December 09, 2022, 07:04:27 AM
Now, I have created another session to log in through Tor. When I'll log out from here, will I be logged out from the other session as well?
Yes, whether you are using TOR or not, soon as you hit the logout button.

If I got your question right, you want to log out of browsing on the other device while logging in on a different device? The easiest thing to do  (from my own perspective) would be to change your password on the new device and it will render the other log in inaccessible. It will turn invalid password or username.
The easiest way to do is, logged in only in a private window tab, because when you close this tab, your current bitcointalk session on that browser will be destroyed without destroying the other session on your other device thus you will still be logged. If this is what OP is trying to ask.
2129  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is ChipMixer a probable HoneyPot? on: December 08, 2022, 11:56:25 PM
I have always wondered to myself what or where their source of revenue is from, from my personal perspective or observations, not many people use mixing services, and even if there are many who do, can the fees generated from transactions cover the weekly payments of the signature campaigns and for such a long period of time?, this has always been my thought but then..
Your perspective/observation and their signature data statistics are contracting.
It's obvious they are well financed to back their signature campaign ever since they have started. Especially when they start paying by usd rate instead btc fixed for several years.

About their source of funds, there is no proof of them having other business aside from the mixer so probably its their only source.
About the number of users using mixers, it's not all about the number of users. The larger the number to mix also affect the donation/fee they can collect.
2130  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: (SCAM) Duelbits' phising links. Don't be fooled! on: December 07, 2022, 04:33:22 PM
I trust the Google search engine but I do not trust their AdWords, because it can be manipulated by using targeted keywords
They are handled by the same company so still the same, no matter how you trust google.

so always ignore those sponsored ads because they will land you on phishing sites
Much better if people will know how important of using ad blocker for desktop user and those who have built-in ad-blocker for mobile browsers such brave and firefox. I always set my block trackers settings to aggressive for mobile and uBlock Origin for desktop that's why clicking google ads whether its on google search page or any other website is near impossible.

Plus, kindly report the ad, it will be a big help

2132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My concern of security when using casino houses. on: December 06, 2022, 09:44:45 PM
But in the article, he was able to get away in the beginning because he claim to be a chef. So that is a total lax in security of that casino on how the man was able to bring a knife inside.

So again, that's what the OP is asking us, if we feel safe going inside a casino because this incident can happen, but this is random.
There is nothing mentioned the he successfully brought the weapon inside or get away with the knife inside the casino. The suspect didn't even get a chance to go inside the casino.
He reportedly told a security guard he was attempting to sell his knives so he could get money to return to Guatemala, to which the security guard at the casino allegedly responded: go jump in front of a train,

For casino's security related response check my reply above.
2133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My concern of security when using casino houses. on: December 06, 2022, 09:17:39 PM
This could also happen inside the casinos and the main concern of OP is the security.
At least use a correct example/reference.

Besides casino's security is too tight for such attack weapon to be sneaked inside and cause trouble there.  Unless it's a robbery attack like what had happen to Resorts World Manila.

Either you're (as employee, client, or employeer) going to a bank, pawn shop, ATM's, casino, or any financial related place. Security concerns should always be top priority.
2134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My concern of security when using casino houses. on: December 06, 2022, 08:06:05 PM
The URL link of the news is very different from the post you're trying to discuss. I wonder who'd replied read it.

It's the man who came from the casino who stabbed the people outside of the casino for several reasons. Not the other way around.
The topic for the URL link you included should be those frustrated people who came from casino and causing trouble after, probably after lossing as the news says..
"Barrios started running and looking for groups of people so he could 'let the anger out,'"

Edit: Seems the suspect didn't even have a chance to get inside, but just randomly attack anyone outside the hotel/casino.
2135  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting Topic/Thread Without Notice To The OP on: December 06, 2022, 07:54:05 PM
Global moderators not all moderators.
For more information, read the post made by Xal0lex.
Yes, that's what i'm trying to portray. Thank for the info.

Either way, Global mods mostly really do the cleaning, especially on gambling board and most forum boards.
2136  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting Topic/Thread Without Notice To The OP on: December 06, 2022, 07:28:56 PM
Check existing topic thread before making one will prevent this.

You only get email notification when your post is deleted, either it's a reply or thread you've made. Not, when they are just moved to trashcan.

Mostly, when a post is moved to trashcan it can be recovered by mods, and not if it got deleted.
2137  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: SatScrap Marketplace on: December 06, 2022, 03:38:32 AM
Why they require a 10% of product value to be deposited in bitcoin when I want to lise an item? Is it for avoiding fake listing or it's their escrow fee? I
Probably for service charge or transaction fee, but asking deposits first is suspicious even though it is refundable.
No reputed marketplace as of today did this kind of fees/charge, especially not for a marketplace who currently trying to build a name or building their reputation.

Edit: I tried to read their FAQ, and i guess the 10% deposit is misinterpreted for deposit. It is a service fee, 10% fee minus to your entered price in their, you don't need to deposit first but, once a buyer bought an item with a complete transaction, you will receive 10% minus of your product price.

I think you have misunderstood that. They require a deposit at the beginning of the listing. I have checked them.
Oooff, yeah, that's right.
2138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is pay to earn considered gambling? on: December 05, 2022, 11:55:30 PM
for example in a room of 10 players everyone puts 5 dollars and the winner takes the whole 50 dollars, Are considered as gambling.

The activity is considered as betting on something else, and it is gambling, but the game it self is not, obviously. It is even considered as an esports. Like i said on other threads in relation about games and gambling, all gambling can be considered as games, but not all games can be considered gambling. That is why we have sports betting.
2139  Other / Meta / Re: Host error from Bitcointalk on: December 05, 2022, 09:17:39 PM
Yes thank you i just saw it, JollyGood is getting this error on two pages when he tries to edit some settings in his profile. It's the same error message but for me i got it while i was navigating the forum exactly when i tried to post a reply
It happens usually but not that severe as it will be okay after a refresh or two. This also happens when you click the "all" to show all replies on a thread, making a search, or just browsing. Or doing anything that loads huge data from the server or the server having heavy traffic on that specific moment.
2140  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM ALRET! hoo.com Scammed and deleted Their website 😭 on: December 05, 2022, 03:30:47 PM
How do people even end up with these exchanges. It's my first time knowing about it.
Probably because of high promised return for yield farming tokens, number of accepted tokens that came from airdrops, and other token related service, etc.
It's my first time hearing this exchange actually, but their user base is somewhat large, they have 100k twitter followers although not sure the legitimacy of the followers.

Knowing they have huge user base if this case is too all of their users, then this might be a very huge problem to begin with.
