2121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 13, 2023, 02:36:10 PM
As all of you are still talking about what happened yesterday, I was shocked at what the TNT did.
After having a good start, they just changed their import with an ex-NBA player in Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/tnt-replaces-import-jalen-hudson-with-rondae-hollis-jefferson-a793-20230213
Quote
TNT is not satisfied with a strong start in the PBA Governors' Cup.

The Tropang Giga will be bringing in a new import in former NBA player Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to take the place of the high-scoring Jalen Hudson.

I mean TNT is performing very good with him as an import, but it has stated in the article that they need an import that can also play at the paint and bigger than him. Hudson is a scorer and his frame is a bit small compare to others, thus they needed to change their import.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson played in the NBA for 7 seasons and after that, he played overseas already. His name is very familiar since he also played with the Brooklyn Nets. Can't find some highlights of him though, but let's see how he will carry the TNT team that is now at the top 2 of the leaderboards currently with 5-1 record tied with the Converge.
2122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 13, 2023, 02:17:30 PM
~
the price of BTC will surely reach $80k before the end of this year 2023.
Are you sure investors will experience $80 this year?
You are spitting facts which are Bitcoin's price pumping up and then suddenly it went down which is what really happened then now you will say that Bitcoin will reach $80,000 just because of what happened a few weeks ago?

Man wake up from your dreams even just for today. Wake up and think about how will Bitcoin reach $80,000 this year? Ohhh ok it's your predictions right and we all can make predictions as we wish. Smiley Good for you if that's your prediction. I guess you're optimism is beyond what others have right now.

It will not happen obviously. The reality is that, 2023 will just be a better year than 2022, but it doesn't mean that prices will go up high as much as it is a year ago. Bitcoin might not even reach $40,000 IMO. Still believe it will be a sideways movement this year. Just look at where Bitcoin is right now. It went up as high as $24,000 and it surpassed that price for only 2 hours and after that, it went down below $24,000 again, and we know what happened already. Bitcoin tumbled down, and what happened a few weeks ago might be a possible false breakout.
2123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 4 Altcoins to look at in 2023 on: February 13, 2023, 01:48:12 PM
First of all, I like your Username. I hope that you aren't really holding a shit-ton of shitcoins out of your wallet/s. Smiley

Anyway, those 4 coins that you've shared are at the top of the list in terms of market cap and as an investor focusing on large market cap coins, I'm always looking for some of the altcoins to invest my money with.

Avalanche isn't on my radar for some reasons, but it is very popular. Chainlink is the one that I just bought recently (just a few weeks ago). DOGE has been there for a very long time and yet, I didn't have the courage to buy it for an unknown reasons (I feel embarrassed because of it). Ethereum is for me what I consider as a "blue chip altcoin" because it has been there for a very long time and until now, upgrades are still being implemented.

Among the 4, LINK and ETH are the ones that I'm holding right now aside from ADA.
2124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do casino and sports betting platform owners gamble as much as other people? on: February 13, 2023, 01:30:32 PM
Do you think that the owners of casinos and sports betting platform, gamble as much as other people do? If they gamble, do you think they gamble on their platform?
Business owners will not jump into a venture that they don't know themselves.

Same as casino owners. They will not jump into something that they don't know and knowing gambling is very addictive (to some), I believe that they gamble as much or even more as normal gamblers do.

Where are they gambling? I believe it's not on the casino or website that they own, but on other casinos or websites. Maybe they are doing this so they can see what are the features these casino or websites has and they might implement it into their own platform. I've also seen small gamblers here in our place who are also gambling, but on a different platform and not on their own platform.
2125  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many signals don't work now like they use to be on: February 13, 2023, 01:15:37 PM
Any good signals ?
Right now many signals don't work how they use to be
Yesrterday shiba signal long was given out from the trading signals channels still not moving.
Signals are sh*t.

Tried to join once when I was still a newbie and tried to trade, but went to an easy route and joined these pump and dump signals thru telegram. Ending? It didn't end up well because whenever I receive the signal, it pumped already and I'm late. F*ck these signals.

Right now, I'm trading, and I'm not relying to these shitty signals out there. They are just scamming people. Learn trading the hard way. Many successful traders right now learned it the hard way so if you want to be a pro trader, do the same as well. There are many tools that can help you online. Don't spend your money joining to these fake shitty signals.
2126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 13, 2023, 08:35:10 AM
Celtics won the game despite missing 2 of their starters. This team played great defense and the main weapon in their game was their 3-point shooting. I think Memphis needs to improve their rebounding department, and also they love to play one-on-one which makes them very predictable.

The good ball movement is gone, we know that Morant can generate points, but eventually, he'll be tired and will be less accurate.
Who is this Sam Hauser from the Celtics? Cheesy The name isn't that popular, but he scored more than 10 points in his last 4 games.

What's good with the Celtics is their depth. In the playoffs, this is what you need. A good starters and a bunch of role players that can step up. The depth of the Celtics is just way too good because they have players that can step up in absence of their core players. They don't have neither Brown or Smart, but they have players like White, this Hauser player and their newly acquired Muscala who scored double digits. Add as well their three-point shooting which the shot 21/51 for 41.2% from it. How can the Grizzlies allow them to shot 51 tries and make 21 of them?

Many are looking at the Suns right now ever since the KD trade, but let's not forget about the Celtics. I still believe that with their roster, they can dominate the East in the playoffs and has a high chance to go to NBA Finals again.
2127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs of compulsive gambling on: February 13, 2023, 08:17:38 AM
I would add that gambling increases the likelihood of having problems with family (spouse and children).
It could happen because the neglect of important matters (as you mentioned) and the fact a compulsive gambler could feel  too stressed or depressed to have a quality time with them, not even mentioning the possible loss of money intended to family expenses.
Just to add with this one, I don't think that the phrase "increases the likelihood" can be applied here because I believe that whenever you're gambling and you don't know how to control your urge on it, it's a 100% sure that you're relationship with your family will be affected.

I mean your savings might get depleted, your relative might do something bad if you have a relative that has a compulsive gambling disorder. Family problems in a gambler that has this kind of disorder is inevitable. This is the reason why I don't want to get addicted to gambling. As a family-oriented person, I don't want my relation with my family be destroyed just because of me getting addicted into gambling. Maybe there will be a time where these compulsive gamblers will soon realize their wrong decisions. There will be a where they will realize and think that "I just hope I didn't ever tried to gamble at all. This is the after effects of my decisions. My family is now gone."
2128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 13, 2023, 07:55:24 AM
Fine to Ginebra fans if they lose that game but if only the game went out close, that would be more fun and exciting.

Manila Clasico is expected to be like that and because Magnolia is currently at the bottom of the standing and they need a win, we can't avoid those people speculating that something wrong is happening.

Either way, that was a win that Magnolia had to keep up with the standings and be alive at the elimination round.
They have a term from what happened yesterday. "Sagip Kapamilya" Cheesy.
It's kind of funny when I heard this term and being used with this game, but that's the truth. Magnolia needs wins, and what they need in order for them to get wins? Get them from their sister companies.

That game is the largest margin of any Manila Clasico in history. 30 point margin. I just hope that Ginebra fans are ok with the result. It would be better indeed if Magnolia lost by only a single digit or the whole game will be a close one so that fans are happy watching it personally, but instead of happiness, they felt disappointment.

Anyway, let's move on about it and forget the negative. Let's focus on the positives shall we? Smiley Magnolia's new import, Antonio Hester is way better than their previous import. He almost got a triple double 26 points-18 rebounds-9 assists. His footwork is good as well knowing that his body frame is kind of fat. Overall, they are on a 2 game winning streak with their new import, and I hope that the Hotshots will play better now.
2129  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 13, 2023, 07:35:47 AM
I will continue to work at my main job (if I'm already working) because after all, what is called passive income sometimes doesn't always work continuesly. It would be wiser if we put passive income into our savings and we continue to work as usual or start a new business.
It depends and a bad advice coming from you.

Passive income is a continuous cash flow coming from companies. I'm pertaining about the stock market since they're the ones that are giving passive income towards the stakeholders thru dividends. They are giving yearly.

With regards to the passive income putting into savings, that's a bad decision for me. Why you put your earnings of your passive income into savings where in fact, you can just re-invest it again and increase your passive income? Dividend re-investing. It's good to say that you will continue to work, and it's the advice that you will heard from many people especially if you can still work.

I hope one day I can get passive income that is bigger than active income, if that happens of course the best thing I will do is look for other sources of passive income or make passive income bigger, of course it takes time and experience to be able to get passive income income which is equivalent to active income, but by spreading money to many types of investments, we can have the opportunity to get passive income which is bigger than active income.
I have seen this numerous times in different platforms, but this is the formula that they are using.
(Your expected monthly passive income x12) / percentage

Increasing your capital also increase your passive income depending on what asset did you invest with. Good for you because you think of looking for other sources of passive income to make it bigger. Some took their passive income and spend it anywhere. Building a portfolio that will give you a passive income higher than your current income will take a long time (depending on how many your streams of income are), but it's achievable. We've seen many people that got millions of dividends thru stock market and that's passive income.

Anyway if I may ask, what are the assets that are giving passive income to investors? I have some in my mind, but maybe there's something that I don't know. Smiley
2130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin current price on: February 13, 2023, 07:19:58 AM
The bearing price of bitcoin has deflected to $23,000. From the analysis it will still go down more but never the less there is hope.

In the 2011 bitcoin price bearing was more than now but bitcoin was able to pulled through, I believe this time is going to far more better than we have ever experience.
Analysis are being done by analysts.
Analysts are often making wrong prediction.
In short, don't follow what they are saying. Don't even listen to them in general.

I don't personally listen to them because I don't want to. I don't know, but there might be a chance that many of them are being paid just to make this analysis or prediction to brainwash newbies. Analysis and prediction are just the same. They just changed the word to make it more formal, but in the end, they don't know what can happen to the market. Just don't listen to these analysts in media and I'll add those crypto Youtubers who are posting their predictions as well.
2131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of Delisted Alts from KuCoin!!! on: February 13, 2023, 02:37:06 AM
Some of the coins that are listed are already in the market like 5 years ago when I'm starting to learn crypto. Coins such as: PIVX, Populous, Tomochain, Tokocrypto, Augur, Bancor, Power Ledger, Metahash, IDEX.

I saw Credits and SOV on the list as well. The 2 projects that I almost invested my money with. Credits has one of the most successful ICO's way back in 2017, and I will not forget that one while SOV is the one that I followed, but unfortunately I didn't have money by the time I want to invest into it.

Some of the coins are NFT game coins, and some are just unpopular. Kucoin has been there for years, but I'm not using it at all since I only use Binance. Anyway, coin delisting often leads to a huge loss to the price of the coin so a bit unfortunate for those who are holding these coins. Hope they managed to withdraw their assets there and sold it.
2132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 13, 2023, 12:55:58 AM
Where are the Patrick Beverley fans at? There's bad news about him as he's been waived by the Orlando Magic.

Actually, that's not bad news since that was already expected, therefore he's expected it too.

There are teams already that show interest in doing a buyout to acquire him.

As far as rumors are concerned, some teams that might be involved are Mavericks or going back to Clippers, or Timberwolves.
Anybody who can remember this picture? An iconic picture when he was still in the Timberwolves isn't it? Cheesy

Anyway, not surprised to see Beverley being waived out by the Magic because I don't see him fitting on that young and talented team. Now with regards to the 3 teams that you shared, I think the Mavericks needed him the most. The Mavs are in need of some defensive minded players and Beverley will be a good addition to the team as he is good in defense. Mavericks must get him somehow in the buyout.

I feel bad for Westbrook and Wall who has significant career and had a big help in their respective teams, but now they are in the buyout market. I mean if you are that helpful with the team, they will not put you in the buyout market. I hope that these 2 players will find a new team this season especially Westbrook who showed a huge adjustment this season and even played off the bench. He might've played awful in the last seasons, but in this season, he is better already.
2133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 13, 2023, 12:13:43 AM
Just look at how distribute the offense of the Magic are. 6 players in double-digits. I believe that when this is the kind of offense a team has, they're very hard to stop because you don't know who you will be focusing with. Quite unfortunate that they lost to the Heat on their home, but it's a close one and I thought that they will win against them again. Anyway, I'll try to bet again on the Magic depending on their opponent/s.
Magic is a good team this season, so I will not regret backing them every time they'll play.

Well, they lose against the Heat, but it was a close game, they were actually leading, they just have some mistakes that they need to learn to be a matured team. It's a young team but they are competing at a highest level. Anyhow, congratulations to the backers of the heat, they won and cover.
I confess, Magic is being a team that I'm "looking at it with different eyes" it seems that game after game it is improving...

My question is, will the Magic make it to the playoffs this NBA season? Or could this be something difficult to happen?
No they will not this season. Give this team at least 2 years to develop. Those who will step up and become an all-star are the ones that will carry the team and the ones who has little to no improvement in the span of 2 years will be traded.

The Magic is a young team and they are showing potential already. Defeating those top teams isn't an easy thing to do especially when you are at the bottom spot. I mean defeating 1 or 2 can be done by these bottom teams, but to defeat the Celtics twice, Sixers and Nuggets? They are showing that they can do it, and they only need time to develop. Offense is distributed. It's hard to stop it, and it's good thing that Fultz is starting to be a better player already after many thought that he was the #1 draft pick, but a bust.
2134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: February 12, 2023, 02:24:35 PM
Like the title says, this year 2023, are you bullish or bearish on bitcoin and why? I would love to hear why. I personally believe this is a bear market rally or something similar.  Kiss Kiss Kiss Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
More of a sideways. Smiley

If the 4-year cycle will happen again, 2023 might be the same as 2019. Back in 2019, Bitcoin went down to as low as $3400, but recovered to as high as $10,000. Now 2023, Bitcoin already recovered from $17,000 to as high as $24,000. I will still stick to my prediction last year that Bitcoin will move sideways to a price range of $17,000-$25,000.

I believe that this year is still a good year for long term holders like me to accumulate more Bitcoins for the upcoming bull run. Still, anything can happen with the market. We might see Bitcoin go higher than $25,000 and stay there for a long time, but there is also a chance that it might go lower than $17,000, and stay there for a long time. What's good is that, 2023 will be a better year than 2022 with regards to the markets...or is it? Cheesy
2135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 12, 2023, 02:02:07 PM
Sorry game especially to those who spend time with their family and friends and watch the game live, very disappointing performance but that's life it's not always a good night for every team, I don't want that perception about "hulugan ng laro" much better to think that it is another game for Gin king and Magnolia really play well with their new import.

Correction Kabayan, 2nd win of Magnolia with their new import they are now moving forward and with that kind of performances the team really get the help that they needed for this season.
Ginebra should be ashamed for playing like this, I agree that its pretty obvious and they should not let their connections be affected with the game. We all know they are a sister company but still, they are in the competition and they should not let this to happen. Hoping for a more competitive PBA and not just about the money and connections. Well, we have to move on because this is already beyond our control, PBA is being corrupted and that is the issue since then.
Kind of disappointed, but it happens especially between sister teams, and it happens. On the other hand, the authorities will just let this thing happen and they will not do anything about it. There are some theories that I'm thinking as to why Ginebra did it. They want Magnolia to rise up in standings. Betting-related probably? Just some theories nothing more.

I didn't watch the 1st half, but I did on the second half thru the livestream on Smart Sports FB page. Ginebra's deficit went down as low as 14 or 15 points I think, and after that, it was all Magnolia all the way already. Crowds are happy because they think that they will do the comeback again like what they did last season, but it wasn't. If you're a Ginebra fan, you might get disappointed with this game especially the fact that Thompson didn't play the whole 4th quarter I guess (because I already stopped watching at the 6-minute mark of the 4th quarter) and at the same time, Aguilar didn't play because of injuries.

After all, there's nothing new here and the only thing that we can do as PBA fans is to just move on and move forward.
2136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 12, 2023, 01:41:55 PM
Since strategy are always changing in trading, what is the relevance of experience? Who would you trust the most for trading tips,
An old trader who has had better days and mostly still relevant because they have a strong reputation for the fact that he has been trading for a while, or would you trust a new trader who is hot in the market and fresh with new strategies?
Try both of what they are saying.
You will not what will work for you if you will not try both of the strategies that they're saying.

If I will choose between the two, I'll try both of their strategies with a certain amount, and then whatever works for me is the one that I'll be using in my trading journey. Just last month, I tried trading with only 10$, but before that, I watched a video on Youtube regarding indicators that will help me with trading. It was said there that you only need 200 EMA, MACD and RSI and gave some tips as well, and as I watch that video, I'm a bit curious thus, I tried it and just after 2-3 weeks of trading using that strategy, my 10$ went to 50$, and I didn't suffer any lost at all. The only time that I suffered loss is when I tweaked the strategy that I copied and didn't follow it (lucky I set a stop loss or else, I lost all of my money in futures trading). To cut it short, my 10$ went to $100, and still using that money for trading until now.

Overall, it doesn't matter who are you trusting, but what strategies will work for you. Different people have different strategies so try different strategies that you watch and try it all or you can make your own if you want.
2137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 12, 2023, 01:29:22 PM
I believe I am very in control of my habits so I have nothing to be afraid of, for now.
I only gamble in a very casual way, so it is nothing I do in an impulsive way and whenever I reach my loss threshold I give up and log out my account. I simply accept I do not have any luck left.

I believe it is better that way to me, since I like to save money as well.
Glad that you know how to control yourself,  you know when to gamble and when to stop if needed.
There are lots of gamblers who can't stop themselves whenever they are either winning or losing money. When they win, they will continue until they lose all of their money. When they lose, they will find a way to get some money and ending up losing more money most of the time.

As for me, I don't need to stop gambling because I can stop whenever I need to. I mean I'm not greedy enough to get my losses especially when I know that it's time to stop already. Winning in gambling for me isn't all about luck, but there's a bit of attitude that's needed in order for the gambler to win big time. It's useless if you're lucky, but you don't know when to stop (lack of self-control).

I wish gamblers will learn when to stop when needed.
2138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and it effect to our local community on: February 12, 2023, 09:08:02 AM
I would love us to share this idea, I have it in mind to introduce Bitcoin to the people around me, but I wish to ask, how do I go about it,

Do you think it will be of advantage or disadvantage to my community?
Are the community around you engaged in crypto or even just in investing in general?
Are the community around you know something with regards to investing?

If they aren't engaged or have any knowledge about investing, don't introduce Bitcoin to them first, but instead teach them how to invest first. Tell them the risks of investing into different assets. Tell them the basics of it and then when you're done with it, try to introduce Bitcoin to them.

Sometimes, making a survey can help you as well to know if they are interested or not because there are some people who doesn't have any interest in investing at all for some reasons and instead of you educating them, you are just wasting your time to them. Make a survey first whether they want to learn about investing and Bitcoin as well or not.

Introducing Bitcoin to your community is always a good thing, but sometimes, you need to know whether they are interested or not because even though you are introducing it to them if they aren't interested then it's only a waste of time for both the people around you and you as well.
2139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: February 12, 2023, 08:32:46 AM
US dollar is the world accepted currency and can be used as a medium of exchange.  In the crypto world, Bitcoin is the most popular and the highest accepted currency with greater value. Different countries have permitted bitcoin for transaction and many of them are thinking so and will eventually do so. Its acceptance is gradually increasing day by day. Do you think bitcoin will be the leader of the world’s currency market like US dollar in the future?Huh
No.

Just think of it. Will the government of each country allow a currency that they can't control to be the leading currency? I mean US dollar currently is the accepted currency worldwide and that as well is controlled by the FED and the government. Will they allow something like Bitcoin to be the currency of the world if they know that they can't control it.

Different countries might've permitted Bitcoin for transaction, but that doesn't mean that it will be the leading currency of the world. Don't jump to conclusions like that just because a few countries tried to permit it or accepted it. No possibilities, no chances, just no, no. It can still be used as an alternative payment though, but will not be a leading currency.
2140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 12, 2023, 07:48:41 AM

Damn, what a great game by Converge giving San Miguel Beermen their first defeat in this conference. It just shows that Converge's young guns + their import is really in good chemistry right now and can match with the top teams. That was all thanks to the strict guidance of Coach Adin Ayo who I think will be one of the most notable coaches in the league if he will keep his consistency and is active.

I know others will say it's just eliminations and like what happened the last conference, Converge fell short in the playoffs even playing well in the eliminations. But still, it's a good sign that Converge is always trying to keep their performance level high even against top teams in the league.
I said it in the past and will say it again. As long as SMC and MVP will not farm players in this team, this is a team to be reckoned with. Watch out for them. I just hope that they will not be the same as other independent teams out there who are becoming a farm teams of these 2 giants.

I don't see this as a bad thing for the SMB, but I'm a bit curious on why Fajardo's performance in Governor's Cup is way below on his averages. I mean in his 5 games, he averaged only 11.8 points, and with those 5 games, he only scored single digits on 2 games. He's averages aren't the usual ones that we are seeing in different conferences.

Is there any problem with him? The changing of coaches might have an effect towards the playstyle of SMB since when they're coach is Coach Leo, he always wanted Fajardo to be the focal person of offense. New coach comes new adjustments to the team isn't it? Cheesy Well, if that's how Coach Gallent want to run the team then there's nothing wrong as long as they're winning.
