2121  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Red Star Mining - 980(GH/s) on: September 02, 2013, 06:49:46 PM
Good stuff, keep up the good work Matthew.

Let's hope KNC is a bit more on-time than BFL and we are all set Smiley
2122  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: UPDATED! [Live-Group Buy].5BTC = 2.8Gh/s KNCminer Jupiter *11 Sold [Selling #12] on: September 02, 2013, 12:34:54 PM
Lame, what a mess.

Put me on the refund list please.  3btc / 6 shares, 5th Saturn.

RaginAzn, please explain yourself.  Ordering the products after receiving payment seems like one the simpler things you have to do if you are a group-buy runner. I don't think people will have much faith in your ability to host and organize if you can't get that initial easy step right. Please reassure us or let us know if it was always your intent to scam, whereupon we can try to find some resolution and hope that this will turn out and we'll at least be getting a refund.
2123  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: August 30, 2013, 09:03:19 PM
I'm surprised how low ASICMINER is.  It seems like the best deal going.  No way I'd sell at less than 3 myself.

I'm gonna be holding a long time it seems.
2124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will hit $190 today: here's why on: August 30, 2013, 08:55:38 PM
A great day? A big rise today?  Sure.....but $190 ?  Not gonna happen. That's a 40% gain or so in a day; that's highly, highly unlikely.
2125  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Avalon giving refunds on past due chip orders? on: August 30, 2013, 05:34:47 AM
Quite the mess.

I wonder what happened, and I wonder if we'll ever know the full story.

You would not expect it to be that difficult to ship out chips that they've already had made.

Pragmatically speaking I'm glad that the 1,000,000 chips haven't been shipped, but ya, can certainly feel everyone's pain for waiting for them to come in. Hopefully in about 2 or 3 months time ordering ASICs will be a reliable, unsurprising thing to do, instead of the total crap-shoot, gamble that has been for everyone so far (from any company, except for ASICMINER some of the time).
2126  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will Avalon ever admit they are mining, or should we revail them? on: August 29, 2013, 06:38:53 PM
Damning speculation that Avalon has been doing a lot of mining:

2127  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Large bitcoin mining farm mining 4 blocks a day having made 1600BTC on: August 29, 2013, 06:37:19 PM
^^^ I don't think so.  As far as I recall, Yifu said that created Avalon to spread hashing power around, and that they were not mining themselves at all, even though it was tempting.

I guess he caved in the end?
2128  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Why The Monarch Might Just Work on: August 22, 2013, 06:58:16 PM
I can't fathom anyone ordering a Monarch.

Sure the Monarch is a good idea -- if BFL could actually deliver it.

You have to be full on retarded to trust anything this company says by now, seeing their track record. Sorry, not sure how else to say it. I can't understand how any rational person would think they are going to somehow be able to pull off this magic product without being late.

Already looks like they are pushing the '2 weeks later' delivery to Feb., not Nov.   https://forums.butterflylabs.com/monarch-discussion/4420-what-monarch-group-order.html

2129  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: August 19, 2013, 08:16:15 PM
Down to around 3.6 now  Shocked

Didn't expect that to happen.

2130  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL totally Stupid on: August 18, 2013, 08:44:24 PM
Unfortunately, a big part of the problem is that a lot of potential BFL customers never see this forum. They never read up on BFL's actual history and shenanigans.

Some potential customer might of just heard of Bitcoin for the first time yesterday. They then google around for a few minutes, see BFL ads somewhere as they have a strong online presence, and place an order, all expecting BFL's claims to be accurate, not a bunch of lies.
2131  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 17, 2013, 06:46:56 PM
When will the deliver though.... in about two or three weeks?

Nah more likely 2015.
2132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC just posted pics of their case, PCB samples coming next week \o/ on: August 14, 2013, 11:30:47 PM
THose 4 fans just look like off-the-shelf Noctua coolers to me.  Not implying anything... I trust KNC myself...but just saying...
2133  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL current state of affairs on: August 14, 2013, 10:56:00 PM
..... This will probably happen 2 weeks from now ...

Dude have you not been paying attention? They've been saying a great amount of progress will happen in '2 weeks' for 6 months straight now. I just don't get how people can trust this company, they've done nothing to earn it.  I would put the likelihood of that latest '2 weeks' statement of actually happening at about 2% - 3%.

2134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A plea to Yifu on: August 14, 2013, 10:47:52 PM
^^^ batch 3 wasn't overprice --- if it wasn't 3 months late. As is will be break even and get a small ROI but it's not as great investment as it looked originally.

As someone who has been to China and has friends in China, just wanted to say briefly that 'shit is different over there'. I'm not defending Yifu or apologizing for his lateness, but, folks got to keep in mind business is just done differently over there. If there is a customs problem that means that right person was not paid the right amount. Bribery is just the primary way business gets done over there, folks do not have the same legal protections or recourse available to them.  I don't know the details of the situation but that's just the fact of doing business with companies in China.

Even up to multinational company level, you have to pay many bribes 'fee's' to many people and you are at there mercy, you can complain  to any sort of business organization or the police or anything. It's a much different system than in North america.
2135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which hardware (company) would/have you invested in? on: August 09, 2013, 06:14:14 PM
Right now I have some shares in KNC group buy and some Avalon batch 3 shares.  I think that's more than enough. Gonna sit tight. There is just too much risk, too many options, and too many unknowns for not enough profit potential in the entire mining arena, IMHO.

I'm going to see where the dust settles by October at least now.
2136  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Potential earnings for BFL 500GH/s ASIC on: August 07, 2013, 10:43:14 PM
The chances of any profits from purchasing a BFL product currently are next to 0.

Orders made now probably would not have a chance of arriving until the better half of 2014 is over.

You are far better off to do as suggested and just buy bitcoins.  If you really want to get into mining, a Avalon clone, KNC, or Bitfury are gambles with much better odds.
2137  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: UPDATED! [Live-Group Buy].5BTC = 2.8Gh/s KNCminer Jupiter *11 Sold [Selling #12] on: August 07, 2013, 12:43:03 AM
Due to a stag in Vegas which cost me entirely stoopid amount of $ and the resulting aftermath,

I'm open to any offers of purchase of my 6 shares of this group buy. I bought into the 5th Saturn.  PM me if you have an offer.

I can either have the shares transferred or just give you my online wallet p/w for the account in which I paid from (and where the dividends will be going).

2138  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [3] countdown! on: July 30, 2013, 07:03:31 PM
Thanks Avalon. I know I cussed you a few times, but thank you for finally coming through!

Oh my...!

So beautiful !   Cry

Arrived finally !  Yayyya !
2139  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining bitcoin with 1st gen hw doesnt seem to make sense at all by next year on: July 23, 2013, 06:56:47 PM
Well the good thing about a free fed-free market is that the price will balance with demand. If it is not profitable to mine, price will fall and people will stop mining. Or, more likely, the opposite will happen. It's sort of like a magical self-regulating system somewhat.

But as said, it is really hard to guess the price. So many new ASIC companies coming out, but who will keep the schedule? Sort of like horse racing these days.....but tHe Avalon clones alone will really bring the ASICs to the masses.
2140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: July 17, 2013, 11:19:05 PM
Something must have gone wrong with my mining software I think now.

First 48 hours after launch, made about 200 coins.

I've been running the same 2 quad core CPUs for 7 days straight now, and no new coins ( -0- ). Is this even possible?

I upgraded the client to the new version. Does anyone know if anyone else has had this problem, or if there is anything else I could try? The  program is definitely running but can't get anything mined at all.
