Weird, in the last couple of months, the forums have changed. There is no a constant flow of people saying bitcoin will fail. It's pretty annoying. I don't understand if you are so sure bitcoin is going to fail, why spend so much time posting here?

I'm sincerely surprised that any of you , let alone many of you, expect you will somehow get any of your money back out of this. With over 6000 BTC lost between this loan and his stealing of WeExchange deposits, and he hasn't even told us what happened, and its been months, you guys are really deluding yourself. You might as well get on with things, this guy is a crook, as I've been saying since months ago, you've been scammed.

I don't like many alts but hey, they are allowed to exist. It is a free market. You have to hope that dumb copy coins made over a weekend will die slow deaths while the few and great inventive and promising new alts prosper.
The cryptocoin game is far less rigged than 'real' fiat funny money markets, so it's nothing to feel to shitty about. I still have no idea why Doge got so popular but I don't begrudge that it did; it's a free market.

I've been HODLING [at least some] since 9$ to 1000$ .... so this HODLING TRAIN's last stop is not going to be at $300.
Keep on HODLING guys. WE are just in some choppy cyber-surf waves right now, no big thing, be brave.

Aw I see, thanks.
I would have thought it would be the other way, that the share price would be going up as bitcoin is worth less USD -- but I made the error of thinking of the situation logically when people are fundamentally more prone to illogical behavior in markets. What you said seems more likely the case than my estimation of it...

I still have a balance of btc on the bitfunder site. Am I SOL?
I know the site is pretty much shut down and I've been trying to withdraw my remaining .35btc for weeks now without getting anywhere.
The instructions say to withdraw it through weexchange, but that doesn't work. Does anybody know what I need to do?
If anybody can be definitively helpful to me, they can have 10% of what I recover.
Go to this address https://weexclaims.weexchange.co/Log In using your weexchange credentials and you can claim a portion of your balance and should be able to claim the rest at some point in the future. You can see Ukyo's (the owner of BF/WeX) last posts here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35121;sa=showPostsMy BTC address is 1MWPSLU5QW5YnwztWxGgspzTMPxiAv8k3A I actually had no balance on weexchange. It is totally stuck in bitfunder. I have PM'ed Ukyo as suggested to try to get the btc transferred to the claim portal. If and when any btc is recovered you will gladly get 10% of whatever portion is recovered as soon as I get it. Thanks for your help. Has anybody heard anything new about this? I still have not gotten a response from Ukyo... No, no news. This is about the 5th or 6th thread on how Ukyo owes the community over 5000 btc. Don't expect to ever get your money back. I'm surprised you haven't seen one of the other many threads about this. Ukyo took everyones BTC deposits and defaulted on a massive BTC loan for "reasons" and he can't talk about it "for legal reasons" and he "expects progress" for about the last 4 months. What is most likely happened, as far as the facts of the matter show, is that he was treating your money as his own personal investment fund, gambled with it and lost and has now run off hiding. He hasn't said a single thing beyond my quotes given as to what actually happened. The chances of him paying back the 1000's of bitcoins are really slight, and even more slight now that the guy who was supposedly going to help him out of the situation, Danny of Neo-Bee has run off with a bunch of other people's money. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I lost money to this thieving scum of a person as well.

There is a fairly large sell of shares going on in Havelock, today and yesterday. When this happens I figure it is due to some reason that has not been made it to the general public yet. Anyone want to help an outsider out?
Are dividends expected to crumble with Rockminer taking over the hardware sales now? The chip looks good, it looks like mass production is underway, why are so many people selling? I suppose it could be an aberration, but definitely seems like a trend right now on Havelock.
edit: ya maybe I'm over-reacting. maybe it was only a 100 shares. still... things seem to be trending down when I'd imagine they'd be trending up.

Excellent and much-needed guide for the noobeez out there, thanks.
On a related note, I still can't believe how many people ordered Monarchs and expected them to be on time, it is really baffling to me.
I also think Avalon should be rated lower as I got screwed with my batch 3 order, and there was evidence of way too much pre-mining done with the units before they were shipped, but I suppose that's just my one personal experience of many.

I'd recommend at least one more category of ages. Figuring that if you 25 and under you are young, or over 25 and old, is a bit too simplistic. I'd recommend maybe <23 years of age, 23 to 31, and over 31. Well at least 3 categories anyways.

I was looking into TEK last days and i think there is not enough volume - the 40% per month is nice, only if you can sell it.
40% a month seems TOO high to me. I think the coin will run out of people wanted to buy, as it inflates so fast. I think <%15 is more reasonable, I think <6-9% a month is probably optimum. I went from PPC to NVC to HBN for my POS holdings, and think I'll stay with HBN, it seems the best balanced PoS coin to me (and best wallet). But this is a grand wacky experiment, no one can say exactly how it'll go

And has he said absolutely anything at all of substance in any of those IRC chats over the last 3-4 months? What questions has he answered?
Oh right, he can't talk about anything about 'the coins being gone'. For 'reasons'.

Actually it looks like Danny has been pulled into the speculated SEC investigation.
There is not much credence to this idea, please give up on it. As I said a bunch of times, the SEC does not investigate companies and then order them not to tell anyone about it. That is illegal and not the way they work. The SEC does not investigate companies and allow them to collect deposits knowing that they will not be able to return the deposits. If there was an investigation, Jon Montrol or Danny would be able to say so. The SEC does not give secret gag orders AFAIK (please correct me if anyone knows otherwise). For the 10th time, the only time you will get investigated and given a secret gag order is if : 1) you are dealing with the CIA or NSA or what have you, and national security is an issue, which is obv's not the case here 2) your services have been confiscated and the FBI is doing a sting operation (obv's not the case here as well). SEC investigations: http://www.sec.gov/News/Article/Detail/Article/1356125787012And for the 10th time again, the very most likely reason why Jon Montroll 'can't saying anything' is because he is protecting his own physical and legal ass. His strategy worked pretty well. Most people where strung around a few months (I tried my best), and 99% haven't done anything about having their money stolen. Some slower people maybe even still expecting him to pull through now and pay everyone back with his magic 5000 bitcoins, 4 months later.

Wow! That is a lot of money to lose. I'm really sorry for your loss man, that sucks. I know the feeling (on a much smaller scale anyways).
Losing money in bitcoin has turned me off of the bitcoin economy. Now I'm only going to buy and hold and do a few minor trades for other new coins I like. But what, 75%+ or more of exchanges have gone under taking everyone's money, and most of the securities have been a wash. It's one thing to lose money investing in a product or service that loses value, but it hurts 100x more to lose money to scamming thieves, such as Bitfunder/WeExchange Jon Monroll, who I hope dies soon.
Until we have decentralized exchanges with open source software I think anyone is better off just buying or mining bitcoins and holding them. There are just too many people who see Bitcoin as a way to personally enrich themselves by stealing from others, such as Jon Montroll.
