Wow all sorts of ASIC offers coming out of the wood work.

I give this one a 'thank you sir, please come again'.  Chance of legitimacy? I'd put it at ....   4 to 6% ..

I just don't trust anyone that Capitalizes random words, especially.
2302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Explain Bitcoin to Non-Technical People? on: May 23, 2013, 01:46:25 PM
I have a hard time with this as well.

I think I could reasonably outline Bitcoin in a paragraph or two. But when friends ask me about how it works, all I can do is mumble something about 'cryptography' and basically just say its a 'online currency based on codes' which doesn't do it all nearly enough justice.
2303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Devil worshipers cult Illuminati (Bilderberg Group) trying to ban Bitcoin on: May 23, 2013, 01:43:34 PM
Earth is a just a Coin on the intergalactic markets and we all mine it down here.

Last I heard EarthCoin was hovering at about 0.0015 UniverseCoin's.

The Biggerburger group is trying to bring us down....in order to prime us for a big pump & dump.

And don't even get me started on the Zeta Reticulans!
2304  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: May 22, 2013, 07:22:48 PM
Took a few moments of puzzlement and contemplation, but do believe for the graphs, PV is 'page views' . Not sure of the other metric. But the graphs show the amount of traffic their site is getting in the lovely China part of the world.
2305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: May 22, 2013, 05:22:48 PM
Well this looks promising to me.

Good luck !  Will be following your announcements.
2306  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: AMD Drivers fail on: May 22, 2013, 02:51:22 PM
Couldn't hurt to use the "AMD driver uninstall tool" [available for only Windows 7] to completely clean out your drivers, and then reinstall them.

AMD drivers have tendency to critically mess up and then not uninstall correctly.

Though yes, your problem does sound to be more likely a hardware issue .
2307  Economy / Speculation / Re: So bitcoin has been stable for a while.. on: May 22, 2013, 01:50:06 AM
I pretty much agree with everything arsenische said, and concur that people are consolidating right now.

But now that is settled Smiley any other theories ?  I remember reading something about MTGOX changing it's policy on bots, or limiting bots some how (or may the volume of thos 0.01 trades) around the time that this period of stability began. I wonder if that is a factor; I can't recall too many more specific details about it though, it might have happened or maybe someone just postulated that ...
2308  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I'm starting to get fucking pissed (BFL) on: May 21, 2013, 08:21:23 PM
But unfortunately for them, their reputation is ruined and even if they do it right, people wont trust them with their btc.

Really unfortunately, I don't think this is the case.  It looks like BFL is still selling a few hundred units a day, I think it was between 250 and 400 on average.

The unwashed Internet masses are not as informed as us who follow the forums.  People are still handing over tons of cash to BFL with no idea that they stepping into a semi illegitimate boondoggle.

In the best of cases it's a complete fabrication to promise any timely delivery of 'pre-orders' when there are untold thousands of orders before yours already made, and the company hasn't even been able to finalize a prototype yet.
2309  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: May 21, 2013, 08:10:02 PM
Really getting excited about this design . Keep up the good work BKKCoins.. !
2310  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin personal guide to buy from btc-e through perfectmoney on: May 21, 2013, 06:42:22 PM
OKPay appears to be back for BTCE now though. Thanks anyways OP.
2311  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Damn MtGox! Grrrrr! on: May 21, 2013, 06:40:54 PM
Gox isn't for the patient.

Same thing for me last time I went to withdraw to OKPAY :  had errors, received vague replies to my email, had no idea whether it was going to be a day, week or month to complete the funds transfer.

But you can't argue with Gox. It's just best avoided if you looking for any sort reliable USD withdrawal time.
2312  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 21, 2013, 06:18:06 PM
Just curious to see what the status of orders are:

1) The people claiming they've received Batch 2 Avalons - When did you place your orders?

2) Are there still a lot of people with order status: Processing?  My order has been on that since February 18th when I ordered it, curious how far back the orders go with that same status.

I placed my order on the morning of Feb 2, 2013 and paid ~12 hours later on pure faith that everything would work out by digging through my history to find the portal token and utilizing that to finish payment.  Some things to note though:  I confirmed all details with walletbit, then created a ticket with all pertinent information in the Avalon support system.  I never received any response to my tickets, but I did receive a confirmation e-mail from the Avalon team regarding my order which matched all my details.  Otherwise I opened one other ticket as per the request of Bitsyncom re: not having my order showing in the store.  I did not receive any response to that ticket either.  Through a rough analysis I estimate my payment was the ~34th unit paid.

Personally I think there is some selective practices going on behind the scenes to determine the order in which the units were shipped, however I'll fore go posting the details that I assume to have been at play in this.

I wouldn't get too paranoid about them selectively shipping stuff. I'm sure shipping stuff from 'some place in China' is highly variable thing. Two packages beside each other in shipping could end up in completely different parts of your country in their big circuitous world tour getting to you.
2313  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon recondition on: May 21, 2013, 04:23:25 PM
Certainly looks worthwhile then for every Avalon owner to get some Artic Silver and goop it up.
2314  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Klondike Indonesia (Canadian Montessori Schools / Big Picture Montessori) on: May 21, 2013, 04:05:47 PM
Excellent, this could work out really well then. I'll pm you with my email address.

I might even be able to write off a bit of my vacation expenses as a legal business tax deduction then, where I to do this, which would then be even better...
2315  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Klondike Indonesia (Canadian Montessori Schools / Big Picture Montessori) on: May 21, 2013, 03:49:57 PM
Well I was planning a Bali holiday in September.... hmm would be pretty awesome if I could move this up a bit and swing by to pick up a Klondike while I'm in the neighbourhood Smiley

Thanks Bicknellski for taking it upon yourself to introduce more Indonesian youth to Bitcoin.
2316  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Forced "On Hold For Refund" for all my Single SC orders on: May 21, 2013, 03:38:03 PM
I continued to be surprised how strong sales are for BFL even to this day. Guess it goes to show you how much of an impact advertising can have, and how this sizzle is often more important than the steak.

I can also understand somewhat how folks who haven't read too much about Bitcoin, or much at all on these forums, could be seduced into buying a sexy BFL 'pre-order' after punching in basic numbers into that top Google ranked Bitcoin mining calculator, which has the big prominent BFL ad on the same page.

What I don't understand is how so many people could be so screwed by this company, and yet, how very few seem to request refunds.  Even let's suppose BFL ships in 2 months or so. How can you justify being lied to repeatedly and still trust this company -- there is no way in hell they could have expected to finish their product in any of the initial timelines they regularly proclaimed.

And if you even then presumed that they were being honest when saying '1 or 2 more weeks' for the last forever, (and going great lengths to win that 'shipping' bet) then you would than logically have to suppose that the level of BFL's incompetence is such that it'd be a far better investment to move your BTC anywhere elsewhere.

Get a refund while you can. Cut your losses.

2317  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CGMiner 7950 StartMining.bat - What am I missing? Only getting 300KH/s scrypt on: May 21, 2013, 05:00:59 AM
I'm not all-pro like as some folks are around here but my 2 cents:  you have gpu threads set to 2, so you can  not use a thread concurrency of 20k or so.

You can either have a gpu thread of 2 and use a low thread concurrency of somewhere between 7500 - 9000 for your card, or a gpu thread of 1 and have a thread concurrency of 20000 - 24000  (mine is set to 21712) .

Also, did you know that for scrypt, the intensity settings are all different than sha-256 ?  You may want to try an intensity of 19. High intensity for scrypt is 14-20

2318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why regulation will absolutely NOT cause Bitcoin price to go down. on: May 21, 2013, 01:41:25 AM
I basically agree with your appraisal of the situation OP.

I think if most major exchanges in most first world countries were shutdown, it would hurt the valuation of Bitcoin. But even if this is the case, Bitcoin would still be fine -- it would just grow a lower rate.

Even if Bitcoin was made 'illegal' in much of the world I still think the price would still rise (but at even a greater penalty). Even if Bitcoin was only limited to use as a blackmarket illegal currency, the future still looks bright.
2319  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch 2 VIDEO on: May 18, 2013, 10:00:37 PM
That's a beautiful machine. Thank you for the video .

Sorta wish now I was able to have my own instead of just a group share!
2320  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Question about PSU on: May 17, 2013, 03:56:12 PM
My Seasonic 1200W is honestly one of the best components I've ever bought.

I think it is extremely well made. 5 stars, totally recommended.

I bought for it for $220 I think. I would not be surprised if I use this thing for like 15 years.

It even came in this swanky purple cloth bag which is perfect for holding Cassius coins.
