1561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: October 30, 2014, 08:38:10 PM
Sounds basic, but gonna repeat it anyways: best time to invest in a coin you believe in is when the price is low, not high. Best time to buy is after a big dump or price correction.

That'd being said All of Crypto is in a bear market right now. I'm in 8 coins right now and they are all going down. Its good to have rules to your trading to protect your investments as well. If a coin is over 200% from what you bought at, sell back your original investment. Use stop orders to automatically sell in a dive. That sort of thing.

And keep in mind no one ever profits if they buy into a strong coin in a strong market. You'll have better odds buying in early, or if you missed that, buying in when the markets poor, Luke these days.

I have faith i n btc itself, if you do as well, i'dbuy what you can afford. I bought a bit more btc at 349 recently andim pretty confident that'll prove to be a good investment like it was when I bought at 20$, 80$, 200$ and even 600$ last year before the run up to the ATH.

The best oppurtunties are when the market is shit.

Is there a ticker somewhere with the sold amount and count down?
Ya ditto, interested to see how this is selling.
1563  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the US economy going up or down? on: October 30, 2014, 03:18:41 AM
It's hard for me to understand how we can fuck it up this badly for ourselves here in the united states. We have 300 million people in a gigantic country with good capabilities/minerals/strategic position.

People here could potentially become net producers for society and sustain themselves endlessly.

Even with climate change there will still be places suitable for agriculture. We have deserts and other places for all the wind power and solar. There is plenty of water (if we manage it correctly instead of spilling the majority of it onto grass and also evaporating it in the air in the process, (also spilling millions of gallons of it because someone pissed in it)).

We have huge forests, more good land than we know what to do with.

Perhaps we've left the corporations screw us over with no limit. The rich could be dethroned very easily, all we have to do is replace their stuff with our stuff. A new renaissance with 3-d printing coupled with ingenuity and knowledge to create working machines to replace anything. Where we choose wisely the corporations we deal with. Boycotting products that are created unethically and places that pay people bellow a minimum wage out of existence.

I see a lot of action taking place even now, but I don't know what to make of it. BTC is a step forward.

It wasn't a 'fuck up', it was a plan. If you let someone / some entity control your money supply, than they will divert it to themselves and their friends.  Doesn't matter if it's 150 AD or 2500 AD, this will always be the case.

The riches of the middle case, earned in part by the success of WW2 for America, over the last 50 years or so, has been diverted to the pockets of the extremely wealthy. This isn't my theory, any charts showing the concentration of wealth will show this.

We now live in a world where the biggest corporations pay less than 2% tax on their earnings, such as Starbucks, and profit billions; while the guy working at Starbucks pays closer to a tax rate of 40% and can barely cover his bills. We live in a world where the US dollar is the world reserve currency, and is created by private corporation lending money to itself. The debt can not be paid. This is not going to end well.

What's going to happen next? It's  a big cycle. Shit will get worse and worse, everyone will get poorer and poorer while the elites get richer and richer, until their is collapse or revolution and the cycle starts again.
1564  Economy / Economics / Re: Will there ever be another crypto boom similar to BTC in my lifetime? on: October 30, 2014, 03:12:36 AM

Moreover, 99.9% of the mining of LTC is made my few giant ASIC farm owned by Litecoin devs, that's the reason they refused to change the algorithm.

That's pretty interesting, would like to know more about that, do have a spare link lying around?

1565  Economy / Economics / Re: US National Debt Increased a Trillion Last 12 Months on: October 30, 2014, 03:07:34 AM
There is no escape from the collapse of the USD, it's just a matter of when.  Basic math shows this.  You can only print so many trillions of an unpacked currency controlled by a private corporation before people start to wonder if it's a good idea to save any money at all when you lose at least 5% a year just in inflation.

It's musical chairs right now. The debt is shuffled around. So called 'first world' countries are going bankrupt. The deficits can not be paid.  All the money from the middle class has slowly trickled into the pockets of the couple hundred families on top.

I don't know when the collapse will come but it will come.  Hopefully it'll be more a slow change over to cryptocurrencies or actual assets instead of an overnight collapse caused by the legal gambling by the banking conglomerates like in 2008.

"Hmmm... how do we get out of this massive debt?"
"I know, let's print more money!"
This strategy is not effective. Where does the buck stop?
1566  Economy / Economics / Re: The swiss are seeing the paper money fraud and are voting on gold backing on: October 30, 2014, 03:04:46 AM
This is fantastic news. Encouraging to know at least 1 country sees the danger of a world economy pegged to the American funny-money dollar which is created out of thin air by a corporation lending to itself while taking an 6% cut on every dollar they print up.   ( http://www.newrepublic.com/article/116913/federal-reserve-dividends-most-outrageous-handout-banks  )
1567  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: October 30, 2014, 02:41:55 AM
That's a laudable position but there's no prospect of justice here. The scam was designed to make it so.  No one will be able to sue Ukyo (let's be reasonable) and no law office will ever prosecute him, he registered his company in Bali for starters.

Justice is not only found in a court room.... And justice is not letting someone steal from you, and allowing no recourse or reply.
1568  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: October 29, 2014, 09:53:35 PM
A crime you say? What, like stealing over 5000 bitcoins of depositors money? Sorta like that?
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: October 28, 2014, 11:28:07 PM
Would ne interesting for sure. I don't think it would work thoughk. Imho that's too high. There would be so much sell pressure the coin would quickly inflate keeping the price sinking. I.m not sure how high is too high, and I could be wrong, but there has to  be some sort of reasonable upper limit to what is feasible; I think over a 1000% is pushing it.
1570  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 27, 2014, 07:35:14 PM
True, after having btc stolen in Jon Montrolls bitfunder robbery and coming to realize that at least half of exchanges seem to run off deposits (or legitametly get hacked) I've apprehensive to invest in anything. Havelock is after all the one of 4 exchanges left selling am shares.

Re AM1hashing fund, I think there is still lots of trust for AM but its more that most btc world investors see cloud mining with a slim chance of returns in mining these days. You know that the price can only go down after purchase, its not like a stock, so its not an encouraging investment.

Personally speaking I think the price needs to be lower before buying any. The price is about par for the mining hardware, so for myself personally who had always got a roi in asicr mining only after mining a few months than selling the used hardware, and only ever losing btci the cloud mining I've done, its a tough sell.

I think it would been a far more successful IPO launch to offer a tremoundous price per hash for the IPO, which would then attract investors and stimulate the buying and selling on havelock after the IPO. The way it is priced now, although a decent and fair price, you can only really imagine the price going down and that's even if the IPO gets filled at all.

Wow haven't seen as much of a pump and dump since last year's Pride Community Chilli Cook-Off.

Shame though, CANN looks like a good enough coin to me. I guess we'll see where it goes from here...

For a weed friendly coin sure doesn't seem to be many smokers here.

Some of you are taking things way too seriously. And some others, who made some measure of profit dumping the coin, delusionally think they are some sort of legendary traders now. It is somewhat amusing.

ok well i just hope it's real basket and not one of those old metal bread boxes my mom had as a kid !
that make a for a cold cramped night Sad

there is differences of opinion in this stuff and a lot of doesn't have to be a personal war.
i think the entire crypto world is split down the middle on two key aspects of HYP etc

IPO's and high stake concepts.. guys are for or against it.
and i think M is sort like HYP too i think i seen him saying it was having an ICO on the fork or something and it's POS too
so really i am not the guy to talk to about the two coins.

i want to add a disclaimer here to people *interested please dig deeper and do your own comparison for info.

M is not anything like hyp on terms of pos reward.

And as for prediction of a price around ooo55 for Hyp... Guess I was being too pessimistic, hyp is rocking like a champ. Many of you must be grinning ear to ear  Smiley.   Personnaly I think hyp's pos reward is Too high, i think something more like hbn's 6% monthly is more sustainable, but its tough to say. So far the market has been very favourable towards hyp anyways.
1574  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Ukyo.Loan - Paying 0.05% daily. on: October 21, 2014, 06:49:08 PM
Anyone heard anything from Ukyo recently?

It's been nearly 2 months and I haven't been able to reach him on IRC.

Ya he called the other day. He even mentioned you by name! He said ' and special thanks to Mgio for his contribution. I bought my cat a gold and ivory padded scratching post with his bitcoin, thanks, Mr Muggles loves it' and then went on to talk about the rest of the 1000s of bitcoin lost by saying he can't talk about it for 'reasons'

''''''' I hear that, all good points.  I know what you are saying.... I could both imagine, 6 months from now, AM regaining a big chunk of the mining world, or just as likely, folding. Its a complete toss up.

Sure FC likes to keep his cards close to his chest, but this just don't work well at being a publicly traded company at the same time. I realized it just sort of developed into one w/o his intention to do so (beyond the original shareholders), but still.
1577  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: October 21, 2014, 05:39:38 PM
Share price for AM is always so mysterious to me. With  a good product available with Prismas, why is there so much dumping going on?  Been steady decline last few days, looks like .1-.11 is the new normal.
As for the lack of communication, a mere 5 mins a week more spent on twitter updates would translate into a big confidence boost.  : Wink

I think gen 4 will end up like gen 3 and arrive 8 months later than I expect but who knows, we just have guesses.

Anyone know where's the quickest and safest place to buy bitcoins in Canada with credit card?

Not sure what that is currently but did want to say that Cryptsy just started accepting debit payments for bTC this week for Canadians.
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: October 19, 2014, 09:34:47 PM
Curious why there's not more interest in TruckCoin TRK, a 200% PoS coin. It's what HYP was forked from, and the current dev is very involved and capable. Not a lot for sale, but a bargain entry point compared to HBN, CAP, and HYP, although perhaps HYP is its own category.

The TRK coin market is incredibly small compared to most coins.  But can't say that there isn't any interest. It has raised 600% in the last week  Shocked
1580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CrazyLoaf's CrazySteak(TM) High PoS Investment Journal on: October 19, 2014, 09:31:38 PM
Well this looks really interesting. Gonna have to read through all of it later.  But what do you guys setup in order to stake a bunch of coins at the same time?

Most coins all you have to do is just send them to your own wallet and wait, that's it =D  You only have to do more coin control if you have a large number of coins that may exceed the maximum POS reward.

------

Been another interesting week in high PoS world this time around.  HYP has gone through the roof and had a resulting small crash today but it is still looking great. I'm guessing it will steady out around the .000055 mark, any thoughts?

HBN is steadily climbing up, but the market is so thin just a few thousand coins can move it up and down pretty huge.  I'm trying out the new Hobo wallet 1.5 beta and its looking awesome, Tranz is such a solid dev.

MMXIV or (motorboat 14 as I call it) is also looking healthy looks like it'll be finding a more steady price over the next few days. Wish I grabbed more when CrazyLoaf first mentioned it, seems a great one to hold long.
