I see some one updated one of  Smity firmware on nicehashs ftp in Aug for the may firmware bitmain release , i do renumber that link at one time having a version from  Jan's software with CG 4.9 .
look like all that did was add nano_editor_performance_graph support to a more up to date firmware, some one asked for a while back .

http:// your miner IP/cgi-bin/graph.rrd  use that to check, if. you install it, i did .

http://smit1237.asuscomm.com:8080/S5_experimental/

BFG has a working version for the S5 right now, that looks like once it goes live will fix a lot of stuff bitmain won't ever do , i have tested it and it works but has issue like luke says, it's there for testing and feedback but does work and works better even in it's state now then any of bitmains CG releases .

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=877081.msg12567856#msg12567856

were still waiting for kanoi CG improvement version for the S5.

That cgminer stops actually is the problem. It can happen that the chips continue to do work even if cgminer stops, which since I saw it happen once on a Compac I think it's more a chip thing than cgminer. But cgminer I believe controls the fan speed, so when cgminer drops out so does the fan. What you need is something independent of cgminer to wrangle the fan based on device temperature.

Also I'm not sure how many people are still worried about it four months after the last post in this thread.

Hmm. Interesting. I wonder if there is a way to make the chips stop working. I'll have to try some measurements.

And I've resurrected zombie threads a lot older Smiley

There are a few ways one is use this http://www.ebay.com/itm/181694032917?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I have one or two i need to test out if they work they may save a few S5 but not stop it  .

but they keep selling on ebay it seems so they may work, i haven't got around to testing the ones i have but plan to soon.

as for S5 cables 16 pin or 18 pin

J4bberwock ,  said he will have a lot in stock at the end of the week . better then the ones on the S5's now, I believe it, by some stuff i  have bought form him, it's better then bitmains stuff as a replacement.
2163  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 07, 2015, 04:43:14 AM
Any chip-making I get in on will probably be by cooperating with what PlanetCrypto wants to do. Right now I'm having enough fun raising enough capital in non-bastardly ways to get smaller projects off the ground without having to worry about the seven-figure price tag of an ASIC.

I do hope to continue making good miners. Thanks.

Please keep them afford able , i want a S7 but can't afford one at 1.500 from them or buy it off ebay or amazon for 2k , 350 or so was better but, i guess, I'll buy a few more S5 for now . sense my power cost is not that bad for  S5 and S3 and even some S1 I am running Smiley  that  still work well for me . or wait and see what you come up with . i do like these stick miner wasn't gonna buy one but saw all the fun everyone was having with them etcccc . and gonna  buy another one in few days. Do like the idea of building my own miner or upgrading old gear that is still usefull , which I'm also doing right now because i like to . i m buying parts for ASICMiner Block Erupter Tube as i go and all most have a full one to put  to gather for fun. I'm ware of all the bad things, they can do.

may even build a Avalon 4.1, i saw they are selling parts on there site to build one but the cost might be to much to justify that sense, I can buy one right now for around 320 or so used and buying parts even as i go would cost all most 700 $ . but it's temping because i like putting that kind of stuff to gather and all the fun is actually in buying it , when you can then once you have it, do it . once that's done the fun is over then we need to find more to do for fun .

but your miners are top of the line, so far, i look forward to more of them,I hope you can but no parts, can make things, not so good Smiley ..

2164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 06, 2015, 10:44:35 PM
./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.topekstick -p x -S compac:all --set compac:clock=x0b83
You do not need the "-S compac:all" if you are using the production sticks, that command was only necessary for the engineering samples (and why the command does not appear in the first post of this thread).

ok I'll try again !! .That worked thanks !!!.  guess the mistake i was making, was I should have either  unplugged the stick then plug it back or with some  new setting I had  to turn it off then back on for it set to right . in this case i set that line with

--set compac:clock=x0b83

unplugged it then back worked, ty  i have it back in minera and working great .
2165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 06, 2015, 07:25:56 PM
Hey sidehack, il be honest, i said a long time i would never touch stick miners ever again but these are very impressive, so far, how they work, i do hope, you can get more Chips, i can see your stuff out doing anything the chip makers do, miner wise. or even make your own chips and miners  one day US made Smiley .

American, made, is still there you proved that, if it wasn't for all the greed and fast buck making, so many want .
Sorry, i had to say that because it's the truth .

anyone inrtrested or having issue with getting BFG 5.3 to work i had to use this

bfgminer -S all -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u your BTC -p x --set compac:clock=0x0782

with these driver  http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

They work fine with windows 10 , I m trying to get to it work with minera with BFG 5.3 as the main BFG miner now not using the custom folder in minera Smiley .

As far as I know, the bfgminer that's included with Minera is not new enough to support the sticks. Also, when I last tried to build bfgminer 5.3 on a RPi, it had a messed up version number. This apparently was a known problem at the time.

In the end I gave up on bfgminer for the Pi and concentrated on building cgminer-gekko and getting it running as a custom miner under Minera. That has worked perfectly and is very stable.

Note that my info on bfgminer might be dated at this point. I never bothered to circle back after I got cgminer-gekko working so well.

If you're interested, I posted a Minera image that includes cgminer-gekko. All you have to do is copy the image to your SD card, boot, then set your pools. The download URL is in the first post.

The only negative aspect of my posted image is that that version of cgminer-gekko doesn't really support any other mining hardware. Ideally it would support all the normal hardware, including U3's. Unfortunately there are compile conflicts when you enable both icarus and gekko.

At some point when the cgminer sources are cleaned up, I plan to rebuild cgminer-gekko and re-post the Minera image. However, if gekko support finds its way into the main cgminer sources sooner than that, and if the Minera author rebuilds and reposts, then there will be no need for me to continue to update the image that I posted. At that point it will be part of the main Minera image.

Hopefully the above makes sense. Let me know if you have questions.

The one i use it just came out not the one inside minera i don't use 5.1 i think is the default BFG in minera i replaced it with my own complied one, i made a post on minera thread, on how to do it .

right now i have it running on CK pool in the club at about 12 GS with one HWE on BFG 5.3 and had 5.3 running with minera on Ckpool solo for a hour then took if off line to try other stuff .

AS far as i know BFG was never replaced beyond 5.1 in minera and MIch confirmed it one day to some one on his thread. I don't use the custom folder in minera, i just replace all the software  miners as they  update. BFG is kept up to date and has a working S5 version still in the works, it works better then CG atm reason that is bitmain suxes at it, software wise but sense its still in the works, it has issue. but it does work once it released live it looks like its gonna fix a lot of S5 issues bitmain never did and never will to any extent.

My setting with BFG 5.3 on CKPool solo :

./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.topekstick -p x -S compac:all --set compac:clock=x0b83 --api-listen --api-allow W:10.0.0/24,W:192.168.1.0/24

same setting work in minera as long as you replace BFG to what was released a week ago and do all the sudo updates for minera and pis.

I took it off line to try some API setting so i can use https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=569924.0 and screen out BFG and turn off my windows PC's, as needed .
2167  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: October 06, 2015, 04:20:25 PM
got it working with BFG 5.3.0 on a PI without using minera but did have it inside minera working.

ON CKPool.

using  Smiley .

./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.topekstick -p x -S compac:all --set compac:clock=x0b83

noticed something , if i try to cool it at this speed i get HW error, if i  only use the  cooling it came with no HWerror. haven't tried OC yet .
2168  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Sidehack stick solo pool club on: October 06, 2015, 03:55:53 AM
DOES BFG work with the CLUB if not then i wil use CG  ? . I gues i should have asked sigh.

Yes, bfg will work.  The club is not client specific, but rather miner specific (sort of), i.e. you have to have a gekko stick to join.  Since you have one, just point bfg to ck's solo pool and use the club address and your worker name and you're good to go!

Edit - Phillip replied while I was typing and gave you the specifics.

IM good ty   got it working with CGminer and minera . it wouldn't for me with me BFG, i have a stick miner from side hack i had to buy it off ASICPUPPPY site sense i waited to long to buy it from Sidehack hes was the cheapest one i could find on sell in the US, just a few bucks more then buying it off side .  Roll Eyes.

If it does not work just use debian if full computer.  Or if RPI use raspbian (built on debian).   And use the compac cgminer and it works very good and stable.

There is instructions in the thread about the sticks by novak.  But yes there was a minera image for raspberry pi somewhere in it that is suppose to be pretty much plug and play.

I made my own mimera image with CGminer all ways do i didn't use the one by edonkey . i do my own once I learn how to a few months ago, i have it runing atm on this pool at about 11.32 GS  AVG on a PI b not 2 with a Startech 7 port  Usb external powered  hub using a old usb 2 hub PSU, i had laying around in minera with a adjustable USB fan plugged into the HUB.

i did have BFG runing on every pool i tried but here so I'll get back to that later on .

DID that ^

it's working now in side minera CGNINER as the main CGMiner, i hate using the custom folder in minera so I don't mich told me he didn't care .

I'm about to join as i said i have no problem using either or just like BFG more but will use what it takes .

They're not cheap, but CoolGear makes some bullet proof usb hubs.  I use this one for my stick miners (I run 4 nanofury sticks, soon to be replaced with 4 Compacs): http://www.coolgear.com/product/metal-7-port-usb-2-0-hub-w-din-rail-mounting-kit-japan-nec-chip

I also have one of the usb fans mentioned previously.  Once my Compacs show up this stick set up should out perform one of my old U3 miners (which are just sitting on my desk gathering dust now).

same one i have i bought off New egg as a close out  , funny, thing,  i have yet to use it but may now  it was such a good deal i couldn't pass it up.
2172  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Sidehack stick solo pool club on: October 05, 2015, 10:19:47 PM
Then again, his sticks could have got a 65 million (and it looks like it may not have reset on the last block?)
But it should have reset when the last solo block was solved.  I wasn't questioning the ability of a stick to get that share, I was wondering why his worker could report a better best share than the parent address.

I could see an s-3 club during the winter.
I would totally point my S-3 at a club address for the winter!  I'm just waiting for it to cool down, no sign of that yet in my part of the world...

I know it working right i have it setting right here for now

http://eligius(snip)
I think you want the gekko stick support thread, this one is for the solo club that uses ck's solo pool.

I'm a ware of that . Lke i said im trying to Join the club DOES BFG work with the CLUB if not then i wil use CG  ? . I gues i should have asked sigh. sense thse is a pool issue not a stick miner issue were else would i ask ?.

https://github.com/Stratehm/stratum-proxy

Once you set it up leave the ants at something like stratum+tcp://192.168.1.210:3333 user 0 p x

and use the proxy to switch them all at once .

http://192.168.1.211:8888/

It works nicely with Screen etc .

this proxy is not Slush proxy and works a 100 %  better . As much as i like and use Slushes pool every day there proxy blows wind big time.

sadly this would work great with BFG 5.3 and My S5  there is a version of BFG now that works with the S5 but you need some kind of monitoring program luke has to rewrite the frim ware for BFG but hes does have a working version  for S5's and remote works much better then any of the free ones .

but no support. I'm not about, to spend 50 bucks for a year, hope it's still here in a year, with no Development being done at all FOR  CGREMOTE.

2177  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.3.0: GBT+Stratum, RPC, Mac/Linux/Win64, GekkoScience Compac on: October 01, 2015, 06:34:44 AM
again  ty

at first ctrl+a+d wouldn't work then i read that link you gave me, i had to make two screens for it to work, BFG 5.3 is mining on my S5 on it's own with no PC or PI holding open that screen .

For those wondering or you want to try it, it works great but you will need to use something like

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596178.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=569924.0

if  you want a GUI, right now you can see it inside the S5 but no monitoring but those program can give you all the info that is needed till then.

Looking for more to be done , like having it integrated into the S5  Smiley ...till then i can use other GUI programs to see the temps, Hw error etc but no  fan speeds yet.
but it seems to use PWM FANS like it normally does.

once again ty . i plan to get you another donation soon.

PS : and ofc if you turn off/reboot the S5, why bitmain, did that makes no sense, it reverts to the Default firmware you have to reload BFG etc  .

hey anyone got complied version of BFG for the S5 i can give a try , i can't figure out how to compile one.
http://luke.dashjr.org/tmp/code/bfgminer-ants5-299e2f7.tbz2

Code:
tar -xjvpf bfgminer-ants5-299e2f7.tbz2
cd bfgminer-ants5-299e2f7
/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh stop
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$PWD ./bfgminer --queue 8192 -S bitmain:auto --set btm:layout=32:8 --set btm:timeout=3 --set btm:clock=350 --set btm:reg_data=0d82 --set btm:voltage=x0725 -c /config/cgminer.conf

ty man  it's actually pretty sweet even in the shape its in now works great. now i just got figure out how to make the screen sty up and let it run a while with bfg on it's own with no pi or  pc. but ty it's nice.
