2161  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: April 06, 2023, 10:25:19 PM
If a formal job was not enough to make a living I would do what many people around here do and I would try to start an independent project where I can use my skills as freelancer.

Here in Venezuela, those who have a formal job in the public administration can earn as little as 5$ per month, so they earn the rest of the money they need by purchasing and reselling things from abroad, baking cakes and making food, reparation services, tutoring services, etc.

I would dare to say this is a country that a good percentage of it's economy is kept by the informal businesses. I have myself considered to start something similar, but I have not yet.
That's a tough situation there and I've watched some videos on how people are living in a day to day basis and that's exactly what you've just said. Many of the citizens there have someone in abroad working and sending them remittances to cover their needs because the entire salary of a working man in there is just enough to buy a hotdog sandwich. After hearing that, I thought that it was a joke but it is for real and even if I'm living in a country that isn't good as the others, I can say that situation I'm living is quite fair enough to be said decent on this type of country. And transactions there happening are being done through transfers like the owner of a shop has US bank account and customers can pay the transfers through their because bringing a stock pile of cash is not recommended because it's a lot of papers needed to bring. You're already starting your business and being a freelancer is also another type of business.
2162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it risky to invest in new crypto coins/tokens on: April 06, 2023, 09:53:53 PM
altcoins are still profitable but the problem is there are more scams than legit meaning you need to gamble or risk 80% to earn that 20%,
specially new projects that mostly run by the same team or person that existing for long years trying to fool people who believes in crypto.
this is also the reason why I kept distancing in new projects.
I see the style that they're doing like whenever there's a new project that becomes a trend, they'll also get on it to get those investors that they've taken. Will make an airdrop and they'll have some graphical content to show how the potential of that new project in creation is endless.
They'll also conduct mainnet testing and that have also become a big factor for the success of those projects that did it but if you'll go notice the style, they'll require fees(of course) to test their network and the reward will be depending on how you've contributed to them.
The lesson there is that, not all of those projects that conducts testing are successful even if you contribute a hundred or two or more bucks on it, you're not guaranteed and that's the misconception of other investors and much worse, they end up with a scam project which they will just accept lightly because they know that it's possible to happen to them.
2163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 06, 2023, 09:32:54 PM
No mate, I believe that @cryptomaniac_xxx is referring to the Lakers next match-up which is against the Phoenix Suns. The season hasn't ended yet for the Los Angeles Lakers because they still have 2 games left to play which I also got some doubts if they can upset them especially now that Durant is there and Booker is still explosive, after that, they will be facing the Utah Jazz again.
Durant's stats together with Phoenix Suns is good and that's why they can't just sweep them but with Jazz, it's possible that they're going to win against them.
Anyway, I believe in Lakers and that's why it's possible that they'll have some great ending on this season after being on the drowning status that we've all witnessed.
Well, I think Lakers has still breathing room and that they can clinch that play-in spot but when it comes to the playoffs I think the chance is slim with how they perform, they really are not performing well except for LBJ and AD. Yeah it's still early to predict it but with Jazz as an opponent I think that's a difficult task.
I'll wait until these two matches end and let's see from there. They've proved themselves coming from the lowest of their standing up to this and that won't be just enough for them to underperform when they're already there but this is basketball, the ball is round and with everything expected and unexpected can be seen and exist at the same time.
Needless to say, I'll wish them all the best and they have to beat first Phoenix and this is where the debate and thoughts are mixing up because it seems that they can't.
2164  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 06, 2023, 08:54:56 PM
I save money only to manage my finances so that I don't carry too much cash, very low bank interest cannot be expected to get profit from saving money in banks, especially now that the government often makes financial policies that are difficult, for example limiting withdrawals of large amounts of money .
Those bank interests, you shouldn't expect them to give you much profit. They're the ones who earns a lot of interest from your money and they'll only give you a very tiny portion of profits they've made. The purpose of the banks for those anxious with money is just to be the safevault, as in. They just have to go there if they need money and withdraw it from them and go back when they've got money ready to be deposited and let them alone use it again for another lending business that they're doing.

AFAIK, most people on this world never stop earning no matter how much money they own at the moment and the reason for this varies from one to another but majority just don't want to stop because they want to create wealth even for their upcoming generations and it's a good thing to do but if they are making money in the honest way then it's appreciable and can inspire lot others to follow the same path.
When we start to make money, we tend to make more and desire more. That is because part of our human nature that we're not content but going with some reality, it's also because we don't know what's with the current situation of the economy. Lucky are those people that have generational wealth and not just that, they've also inherited businesses, investments and assets. Today, we might have a lot of savings but if inflation hits it, the value of that savings won't really matter anymore but if you've got also the latter part, you'll manage to survive.

A lot of people are on the Lakers bandwagon but they are going to probably fall to a younger more athletic team.  I mean lebron and AD can be a force in the playoffs but their supporting cast just isn't there.  Don't give me hillbilly kobe.  He is a nice bench piece to co.e out for 15 or so minutes but as starting sg...they are gonna get exposed over 7 games series.
Well, can't disagree on that because that's a fact. But still, that hope that's been set from them is hitting what fans and the bandwagons are thinking of.
It's true that they might not even to get to fulfill the playoffs but if it's a longer series, unexpected things might come. And from there, we all know that both of them are injury prone and that's why you've said it right.

2167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Doge worth investing? on: April 06, 2023, 07:25:42 PM
No one can say with certainty whether it is worth investing in a coin or not. This is everyone's personal choice. But Elon Musk has started a campaign to draw attention to Doge again, so maybe this will raise the price again and people will start investing in the token.
That's why people will still consider to invest again in Doge because of how he's trolling the world again with the icon change from twitter. Everyone is thinking that because there's the influence of Elon and the hype that he can make from it. That will everyone's expectation to make it pump based on his activities and trolling in the market. But honestly, people can take advantage with that and just don't forget to take your profit.

That's not investing, it's speculating. It can work, but don't risk everything.

--Knight Hider
Might hurt someone with that speculation to his investments when it didn't reach to that price being anticipated.
2168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy bought more bitcoin on: April 06, 2023, 01:05:06 PM
It does! Every time Microstrategy buys bitcoin, bitcoin gets dumped though the reversal should be the case. I don't get why bitcoin price drops when Saylor announces BTC purchase LOL.
It's the same as when CNBC and other news firms announces that someone "influential" says that the bull market is at hand and bitcoin is the best investment. LOL, those positive news are no longer impactful to the market and let the market work for it whenever the bulls back actually through the fundamentals that it gets and not being shown in the public by these news agencies.

Well, I guess this isn't something we should be happy at. They are trying to get the big piece of the cake; isn't it going to make him influence the BTC price significantly? I guess yes, that's what going to happen in the near future.
That's a good realization on this one. While we think that it's good that a big firm buys a lot of bitcoins and holds it as their asset. There will be lesser supply that's available for most of us although it's really expensive and many can't afford to buy it so, they're the one that's taking these cheap bitcoins before the huge bull run that we're all anticipating.
2169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did I can make platform without KYC verification on: April 06, 2023, 10:53:51 AM
The reason of making Bitcoin in the first time is decentralized money and make P2P safely but now we can see many platform start controlling this crypto currency by KYC .
My question is can we make platform that can we verify account by deposit only .
Account have two wallet one of crypto and other with real money he can swap and withdrawal money or crypto anytime
There is no kyc in using bitcoin but kyc comes from exchanges where you deposit bitcoin. And this is for those centralized exchanged out there and we cannot do anything about it. There are exchanges that will not force you to kyc but you will get limited move and transfers while being there and then there is no certain time until they will allow you to do that.
That is like they will change the rules of their non kyc usage into forceful compliance of it.
2170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another cross chain Hack on: April 06, 2023, 09:55:53 AM
In general, how do you guys feel about DeFi?  Do you prefer to use it or centralized exchanges?
They are being sold like hot pancakes in the community and that is why even the hackers eyes are on them. I'd like to use a few of them if it is necessary but the news that comes out about them could have been discouraging because of the usual hacks that happens to them.
It is inevitable that people will trust more centralize exchanges because they think that in terms of safety, they are safer than the DeFi or dexes. But little did they know, they cannot skip also being hot in the eyes of hackers and even the regulators for which we are seeing in most of them.
2171  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Si CZ Na Tagapagtatag Ng Binance Ay Kinasuhan Ng CFTC on: April 06, 2023, 09:04:56 AM
Let the court decide and sabe nga nila, ignore the FUD.
Pero syempre need paren natin mag ingat kase panigurado, marame ang maapektuhan if ever. I hope Binance can settle this issue, nagkakaroon na kase ng Panic and alam naman naten na Binance is the top exchange so paano nalang kapag nag collapse sila.
2172  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Mayroon kayang interesado dito sa FREE giveaway? on: April 06, 2023, 08:25:12 AM

Hirap na makahanap ng mga libre ngayon at okay na okay na kahit na shipping fee lang babayaran.
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are you still strong holding btc on: April 05, 2023, 08:26:44 PM
I want to ask if you also  keep holding btc?
If there's an asset in the world and in the crypto market that shall be held by everybody, that's bitcoin and it's a yes for me.

and the reason I hold btc is because I believe the price of btc in 2024 will be high and there will be no more btc prices like now.
You should state what makes you think that by next year the price of Bitcoin will increase. But I think it is no longer a secret why everyone thinks that it will increase by 2024-2025. We're going through the cycle and the most awaited thing every 4 years will happen by 2024.
As you've said that there might not be the same price for Bitcoin in the next years as it is right now, well, that might come to be true. The price of BTC is bound to get up and higher soon as demand rises and thanks to it having a limited supply.

Did everyone see the surge in Dogecoin? Again, thanks to Elon that have made the Twitter logo into the face of a dog. Again, he's on it and everyone who's excited about Dogecoin and Elon made profits again I guess.

2175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Before You Go All In on: April 05, 2023, 06:43:10 PM
going all in if I don't think there is anything wrong with bitcoin, which usually invites risk because we invest in new altcoins, with the hope of having big profits. therefore the need for diversification in the hope of minimizing risk, because it places several coins. but when the price is bullish we have to keep thinking logically so we are not greedy in taking profits, because at any time the price can fall quickly and of course we regret it
It is not guaranteed that you minimize the risk when you diversify. You're even attracting greater risks towards your way of trading and investing. But as said, that's to each their own.
And we're all agreeing on one thing and that's when we profit, one must take it and don't forget to do it.
Many have done thinking that they should take it only when they're seeing huge profits instead of little ones but then, they're missing the whole point of it and then actually misses the chance to make profits and instead, they're getting losses as that moment of potential profit on them was ignored.
2176  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Filipinos: please pay some attention to this on: April 05, 2023, 06:15:24 PM
There have been 4 more EDCA sites that have been announced. Just for the sake of those that don't know what EDCA is, can refer to this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_Defense_Cooperation_Agreement) or in short, an agreement for military exercises and forces of the US and the Philippines to join forces. And there have been mixed feelings on this, I've seen defense experts say that this is good and normal for the sake of patrolling our seas. But an international expert on foreign policy said that this could provoke China. While the past administration is like a friend to China and Russia and to everyone, our new admin and president are most likely in favor of having Uncle Sam on the back.  Undecided
2177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best time to gamble on: April 05, 2023, 05:41:44 PM
It's nice to see the variety of answers for when is the best time to gamble. Some say at night, some have a specific time and I saw people saying that it's best at any time.
I'll go and say that at any time when you feel that you really have to gamble. You'll have that craving and the money you'll use as a bankroll must be just extra money.
Due to the fact that there have been gamblers that truly allocates huge sums of money for their gambling activities, they might adjust it lower than what it was before and starting from a lower amount until you get some wins there and taking back your entire bankroll so no regrets if you lose.
2178  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: April 05, 2023, 05:17:36 PM
Actually it's not that difficult if you want to find a side business for yourself because it is based on your own self-expression. You can make a job on this forum or in the crypto space as your side job even if the results are very different from your main job. Because you can look for another job that you consider your main job, even if the results are not that good, this will really help you if the amount of salary is always stable every month.
A job and a business are different ways of making money, having a business could start from doing it as a side hustle but eventually as it grows, you'll have to go full-time on until you manage the system and it's almost automated because you've got people that are working for you and make money for you and the same as what you do to them. But one thing in starting a business, I'd like to disagree with what you've said that it's easy because as a matter of fact, starting one is the hardest and then maintaining it is the next challenge that you need to take.

Starting is the crucial part of it, and yes, in the sense of building maybe you can say that if you have knowledge, then you can start it, but in terms of establishing and making it profitable is that where the challenges are.

You need to work on every aspect that will affect your growth. It's not just putting it up and expect that
it will grow instantly. There are many factors that will affect the outcome and you should always be aware
on how you should learn everything to find your success.
True, I saw many aspiring business people and that's their methodology to start with until they experience the actual running of a business. That's how they saw the reality of it that it ain't easy as they've thought so. Because there's so much to it rather than just building and putting it up, it doesn't end there and there's so much more to learn and process until it becomes a stable business that shall give you financial freedom because you can do something else when it's already on that point.
2179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you profitable? on: April 05, 2023, 04:37:24 PM
You said it right, I've noticed this mainly in the influencers in cryptocurrencies. They are sharing their wins but not their losses and actual trades. Don't believe in them so quickly.
Because what they might be showing to the public are only their wins because they know that showing losses to their fans could make them less of it.
When it's about winning in my trades, I'm mostly a passive trader and does the strategy to just hold and sell when the time and price are right. So yes, if it's all about being profitable but as an active trader, no.
