1661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you love and enjoy taking risk? on: May 22, 2023, 11:49:57 AM
I am risking what I can afford to lose for the last few months. It's not much but I am pretty sure it will come back pretty good in a few years.
The era of making money on the way up is over until the next cycle.
As long as you did the initiative of taking a risk with the amount you can afford to lose and that's more than enough. While the others don't like to take risk and they're always scared to step on new things such as investing. And there are the others that have made it as a habit of taking risk even with those projects that they shouldn't take the risk of it. They just love it and it's fun for them so they're totally fine to lose whatever amount they're setting in for those projects.

As long as the projects I hold dont fail I don't care. Its an asset that i own. Time will tell if the bets were good.
You can assume that but you don't have the fate of these projects on your hands.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The last side of Bitcoin I've failed to look into on: May 22, 2023, 08:17:21 AM
As a fan of Ethereum, I've been able to make some ETH through putting my coins to work, but I've not come across putting your Bitcoin to work before.

Is all we can do as a Bitcoin investor is to HODL?

Is there any way to HODL and make more BTC?

I know that Bitcoin is a proof of work coin, but I am only curious if there is something you can do, while planning to hold your Bitcoin for 2 years or more, is there any benefit of holding and making more Bitcoin?
Most likely, yes. That's all that we can do with our Bitcoins and that's to hold it. You have the choice to put that into an interest account of exchange and you'll get to earn maybe somewhere from 2%-5% APY if you deposit there. But are you sure that you're liking that term if there are no keys that are given to you while you're allowing an exchange to hold your Bitcoins for you? That's why I've said that it's most likely that it is.

Also, What are those RSK Bitcoin for? Any benefit at all?
This? (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/rsk-smart-bitcoin/)
If so, then it's like just like those wrapped Bitcoin but they're not real Bitcoin.
1663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 22, 2023, 05:28:13 AM
We always do the support because it's our own, but being realistic all the time is important.

By the way, the outcome of the game yesterday.

Anyone here was able to place a bet on that specific game? Because if someone was able to bet, then we should expect that tomorrow evening the betting odds will be available for Northport vs Meralco and Phoenix vs San Miguel.
I'd avoid games until the end of this pre-season. But anyway, nice win for the Bossing. It's still quite far for the next season but with this, since we don't have games yet.
If you are for the betting with these matches then we've got no option but I'll choose not to be with these games since it's hard to have teams determined knowing that these are just preseason games. Anyway, with such a win of Bossing, I'm not used to see them win at these preseason but then hopefully this is just the start and sign that they'll do better next season.
1664  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: May 22, 2023, 03:44:53 AM
-snip-

i guess, by now the OP somehow already learned a thing or two when it comes to investing using borrowed money, if in case he pushed thru such route. better use your extra funds rather than loan money to supply your crypto investments.
Not just him but everyone who's planning to take a loan for investing in bitcoin. There have been a lot of people that have seen to be asking the same question because they have it on their minds thinking that it should be the best idea that they can ever do as what everyone is telling them and that is to invest in Bitcoin.

if you don't have extra, then, don't invest. it is always best to sleep at night without worrying that someone will knock at your door or call your phone asking for the payment.
That's it, if they don't have money to invest for now. That's okay and wait until the situation of theirs become better and when they've got spare or have got enough money to buy, that's when they should do it.
1665  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a web3 casino for you? on: May 21, 2023, 11:39:12 PM
These web3 casinos know that Bitcoin gambling is top-notch and most popular in terms of crypto gambling. I know that they're mostly for dApps and smart contracts. But that should be of exception and they should support Bitcoin gambling.

So to me, Web 3.0 casinos are MAINLY about decentralization.
I agree but there have been developers that don't follow what's mainly for decentralization with the usage of this web3.0 casinos and related apps. They're the ones that are breaking what's believed to be on it instead of making the actual thing, they're just hiding in the dress of web 3.0 but later on will be found as centralized and nothing is different from the usual ones we've got.
1666  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: May 21, 2023, 10:54:38 PM
Using savings is much desirable than using loan money in investing in bitcoin. This idea is becoming alive again because we're being near to the halving.
Alternatively, one can utilize funds that are freed from the necessities of daily living. If your savings are designated for everyday expenses, it is also not recommended.
That's also a possible thing, you can use spare funds instead of using borrowed money into investing. But as much as possible, you have to avoid getting a loan if the main purpose of it will be for buying bitcoin. If you can't keep up with daily expenses and your salary is just enough to your needs but you insist and you want to do something then you should increase the flow of your source of income.

However, it is even worse to use borrowed money for speculation. Taking double risks is not a wise course of action.
Interest and speculation, really not a good factors to be combined if you don't have that much money to play with a volatile market and unwilling to take on the interest payments.
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More apps for LN on: May 21, 2023, 10:33:33 PM
We mostly see the sign in some stores about "Bitcoin accepted here" and soon we may see "Bitcoin Lightning Network is accepted here" in some occasions but as of now, I haven't seen any of it yet.

Excuse me why should they display here we accept LN?  Isn't it enough for you to know that they accept Bitcoin?
What I am saying are those merchants. It's more than enough that they know Bitcoin but it seems that when the network is too traffic and people say that there's another solution which is the usage and acceptance of LN.

It is a layer to make Bitcoin transact if the merchant does not know LN then it is our duty to tell him about it and make him understand the advantages, otherwise what are we for?
Yeah, we've got some duty to do to say that to them but if they don't like to try it then that's where the adoption rate should start from.
1668  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: May 21, 2023, 08:29:12 PM
I would suggest - better don't do it.
play safe and play smart with out the loan money. try not to do it - I would suggest to save your money and then invest it rather than taking loan.
Using savings is much desirable than using loan money in investing in bitcoin. This idea is becoming alive again because we're being near to the halving. And those that are aware of what's gonna happen after the halving, they're all optimistic of course of what's ahead of us.
So, as the suggestion of many to buy before the halving happens. This gives the thought of other investors of taking a loan for investing in bitcoin. It's not the idea that everyone likes but some really think that it's sustainable and one of the best ideas for one to start investing in bitcoin. We mostly know that this idea isn't suitable for the majority of us and there goes the minority that still think that it's good for them.
The failures of the first people that have done this made it on the wrong timing and they're justifying that they can be at a better shoe from now because of what's about to come.
1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More apps for LN on: May 21, 2023, 07:44:27 PM
The adoption rate of LN has to increase and all of these apps and wallets are good if there are people willing to accept LN. But as of now, it's still like an unknown thing. Just as you've said about those obsolete cameras that later on are no longer viable to use because most smartphones today have clear cameras. And just like with those more apps in the LN, they won't be useful anymore if there will be better than them in the future. We mostly see the sign in some stores about "Bitcoin accepted here" and soon we may see "Bitcoin Lightning Network is accepted here" in some occasions but as of now, I haven't seen any of it yet.
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you choose altcoins you buy? on: May 21, 2023, 12:25:31 PM
Many of the successful projects have taken some time before establishing themselves certain if you find a project and you are convinced that the value of coins grow over time you can buy them.... I personally after many mistakes and loss of money prefer to wait, sometimes patience pays off....
And those are the better projects and altcoins these days. Those that have been tested over time and became popular because of how they've gone through it.
These days, too many projects have become popular because of the hype, and after that, they're no longer popular. But the older projects that have been tested overtime, they're still in the market and most of them are still operating. They've managed to be built not because of hype but because of how good they are together with the devs and the community that it has built.
1671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 21, 2023, 10:04:05 AM
Both teams, Nuggets and Heat have no loss, maybe this is already the future sight that we're seeing on who's going to face each other in the finals.

I think everyone is starting to accept that the Lakers are over in this series now. It's a miracle the Lakers made it to the finals after losing 3 games, I don't think they can do that.
I also don't think that they'll be able to beat the Nuggets with a straight 4 games. That's highly unlikely and let's just say that it is impossible, if there's a team that has done that, I can't forget if there's a team that managed to sweep their opponent like that in a conference finals match.

It may be hard to accept for LBJ and Lakers fans but that's the reality and that is Nuggets are just the stronger team these days. And they might even get this season's ring.
1672  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you spend more-do you get more? on: May 20, 2023, 11:48:52 PM
Spending above your means will never be beneficial on your part and that you can never expect higher returns after that. But you'll be closely drown to debt. Maybe if you consider helping those unfortunate people, you can spend more so you can give more.
And there's this karma belief that if you give more then you'll get more and that's the practice that others are believing. As the bible says that, the more you give, the more you'll receive and you're blessed than others.

But if you are in an investment, spending over your income will never guarantee good returns. That's why only invest at your own risk.
That's the thinking of many in investing, the higher capital you to start with. The greater returns and chance of profiting are what's gonna make you confident. But that's not the right thing to think of, yes, you've got better and higher funds but it is the performance of your investment that will still dictate your profits. And knowing that is your thing and the research that you'll do before investing on that asset or investment like Bitcoin.
1673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Make profit in Crypto Trading as a newbie. Dream or reality ? on: May 20, 2023, 11:27:15 PM
What do you think ?
There is a common denominator for most newbies and that's to earn instantly. And with the article that you've given it has said something that newbies should remember and that is about the copy trading. It's good that you're giving a warning to them because most newbies think it's a shortcut and easy strategy.

What’s your investment strategy and winner tips ?
Don't be greedy and take profits.
That's more than enough for a reason and tip to be said for most newbies because when they can see that their portfolios have been increasing, they don't want to withdraw and take profits.
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or altcoin on: May 20, 2023, 10:50:43 PM
Once i joined crypto, i sure as hell wanted moonshots so i chased alts.
After a while, i realized crypto is already too volatile so i just stick with the big 2 and call it a day.
Regret is not something i enjoying living with.
That's right and good for you that you've come to realize that this market isn't all about how diversified you are and how many you're holding. But, what's the most stable crypto that you're holding. Stable in terms of volatility and the market that it has got to show you.
At the end of the day, we're all investing in what we think is going to make us profitable. Some are thinking way beyond that and all they want is to become rich in an instant so they're trying their luck games to the meme coins and pump and dump coins. They know the risk but it's just that, they know that if luck hits them, they'd be rich on it but that's like a guessing game that's hard to understand.

And the most important thing you need to remember is just invest money you can afford to lose.
We tell this all the time and no wonder that many are learning already to invest only with certain amounts.
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 20, 2023, 05:41:40 PM
There is a saying that gambling is a matter of patience. He who cannot endure should stay away from gambling. Otherwise, the results will not be good at all. The gambler can gain a great advantage if he knows his own limits.
Even so, a gambler that has nothing to do will lose his patience. Even you tell how many times that he should stay away from gambling, no one can stop him and this is just like the last try until everything is fine.

Sometimes you can avoid big losses by reducing the amount of money you play. There are many different methods like this. However, in summary, we need to learn to be patient.
It's a different scene from OP, he's about to withdraw it but then because of the network issue he just can't. That given of reducing the amount as a bankroll and then be content with it.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency a financial pyramid on: May 20, 2023, 12:49:31 PM
I came across a news on Quora and I went into a very deep reason on the reality  of life and judge from the article on the post, I couldn't agree less with the author/writer because at the long run, it seems money is just circulating and the moment  money seizes circulation, even the price of bitcoin  is affected, hence the price of bitcoin  would increase if demand increases and demand can only increase when there is more money to spend.

So I had to bring this to the forum to know if you guys also think, cryptocurrency is some ways a financial pyramid.
Let's discuss please
The first guy that answered that Quora question said that it's like stocks and that's most likely easier to understand for those that doubt crypto. While those scam projects make the impression of this a pyramid or a scam. There are already negative thoughts about upon hearing the term pyramid and it's all about the scam. But it's not important at all, those projects that add no value to the market will always be exposed. But the good ones especially bitcoin will remain to be the most preferred crypto of all time. And it's the first one that has taken the negative thoughts and criticisms.
1677  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is this considered a safe practice on: May 20, 2023, 10:46:04 AM
I use virtual cards for anything online. What I do is fund the virtual card with the amount I will use for any purpose. I don't directly link my card.
If this is it, I don't see a problem with it. Since it's a virtual card and you load it up with your debit or credit card for any purpose. But the thing is it possible for the card provider you use to track the expenses that you've loaded up for gambling? Maybe they do, maybe they don't.

The disadvantage of using One's personal debit or credit card is fraudulent or unauthorized charges which I dislike a lot.
It's not about that but, it's about your usage of those cards in gambling not about using someone's card for your gambling activities. But either of that, they're no good.
1678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: May 20, 2023, 09:40:30 AM
Well I am still 'bullish' on BNB coin. And I think what Binance is doing now with Italian Red Cross is a nice thing, maybe we will see some gains in BNB in next coming days.
That's a common thought to say that BNB could be up within the next few days. And this act of donation they've made is a typical activity that Binance does.
Just like the relief they made for the Ukrainians when the war started. No politics intended and although many don't like that move of them, it's just an act of help that they've made.
I'm expecting them to do more of these charities because it's also giving them the free exposure made by the media even though they don't need it anymore.
1679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need signal service on: May 20, 2023, 08:42:29 AM
Telegram is the origin of their main trading channels and communities, which are mostly controlled by pro traders and market influencers. Based on traders who are unwilling to thoroughly study trading related PDFs and also gather more knowledge, they served as the dependent clause in the space, always looking up to an influencer before placing any trade, it's more like copy trading.
Not that many of them are pro traders but they're pro in controlling their communities and that's why they're getting a bunch of members that do rely on their picks.

Trading using signals is one of the simplest ways to begin making money in the space althoughit'snot 100% guaranteed. It is apparent that most merchants face these organizations rather than rely on them and study it on their own.
It's not as good as what people think about it. It could be easy at the first tries but then in the long run you'll see the difference of it and that's why many are losing instead of making money from it.

I wouldn't advice people to get into these signal service because you'll not going to like it when you're no longer making money there as people there are full of false promises.
1680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why so many mixers all of a sudden? on: May 20, 2023, 07:42:29 AM
I will never complain of too many mixers mate, why are you complaining? Many people wished that Bitcoin has privacy feature and a mixer makes it possible, so many people are now tasty of Bitcoin mixer, it's a dream come true if new mixers are showing up, most importantly if they come with new features, not all Bitcoin mixer users are criminals, some of care about their privacy, it's their way of living, they don't trust the government.

Mixers developers should try to keep their info and identity very secretly, it will be harder for the government to crack down the mixer service unless they get their hands on some information or the developers revealed who they are.
I don't think he's complaining, he's just surprised by the sudden increase in launches of mixers. And I do agree to you that this is even much better that we've got a lot of mixers and that's because everyone is valuing their privacy. But at the same time, it's also scary on what if it's the FED that has made the other new mixers and they're just trying to trap people into the usage of the mixer that they've made. Regardless of that, the increase of these mixers are good for most of us because we've got a lot of choices on where shall we increase our anonymity through the variants of theirs. If you're also satisfied with ones service, you'll stay there and at the same time the fees do matter on whichever is the most affordable yet the percentage of anonymity is better, that's where people will be going.
