Geez, I totally missed Gent's thrashing! Still feeling a bit numb from suffering two straight 1-0 losses so not really checking out games, but might chuck a few coins at Laernaca (16/1). Sivasspor would have if higher odds -- Fiorentina is frightening...

Rooting for Arsenal all the way, they should be comfortable but if I know Arteta, he'll want them to keep momentum. I hear rumours of Jesus coming back finally, might be an opportunity for his to shake off some of the rust. Saka just spoke in an interview saying he'd want to play every single moment he can though Wink

Igebotz, please drop me a link in DM for your 2 mbtc.

Quickest round ever, done and dusted 28 hours after we put in picks. Soon as Benzema scored, like I said, nothing else mattered.

If Chelski take out Real Madrid or Citeh, it'll be good. In fact, to commemorate this loss to you, I'm going to put in 2 Blues in my coming FPL week.

Just came back from the Roulette tables to play my Arsenal freechip. Put it all on 33/36 and 1 came up (1 number to the right of 33 on the wheel), so I feel I have some luck banked in.

Looking forward to the specials on tonight's UCL. Regular promo 4-3-free's all about Liverpool for the $50 freebet Wink

I had all the time in the world to make my picks, but I didn't; I have no fucking excuse.

It happened to me twice this round, incredible that I was sure I picked, and yet not registered. I was in Top 10 spot too, just shot myself in the foot. Need to double check all my picks, as I put them in very early, alongside EPL, Serie A, La Liga, so I thought I was safe. You can all thank me for giving way =p

Off to the game, wish me luck boys!

Without Hendo and Bajcetic we basically cannot even put a midfield on the pitch, it ain't gonna be a nice game to watch.

Milner in midfield? Is that what I'm paying to see? Grin

Good luck and enjoy yourself my man! Yeah, it hurts to see the lineup without the 2 guys I really wanted to see in there but Milner should only be a sub, they should just put him in TAA's place and put Trent in midfield to supply if we actually go 2/3 goals up, but yeah, I pray either Klopp is a genius I still underestimate or he's a gambler like us, all-in, confuse Real! Think the only thing I was happy to hear was Keita also not making it. Ancelotti must be wondering what trickery is afoot...

Firmino, make this your best game before you leave us man.

Who else got silly money on Liverpool? Almost 3/1. Hahahaha...

I suppose with today's news, we can rule this theory out then? Unless they got tired and needed some funds to shore up some broken banks over the pond... tough news for a lot of people involved.

@Renato297 The instructions are really easy and correct. 6pm GMT was 2 hours before the first matches kicked off at 8pm GMT. And it's so easy because forum time is GMT time. Imagine how tough it is for players in Asia or some parts of Americas to keep track of time. GMT is universal...

I ran the risk of submitting late -- and if it would have not counted, I would have been okay to take the penalty. There is a thing about ref decisions being final. Whether players think it's fair or not has never really affected that =)

P.S. The user you're referencing could be me. I made my post here, when I was free from work -- but I submitted my answers an hour some time before I posted.

The Porto game was too intense; they had only two shots on goal until about 87 minutes, and it didn't get any better in extra time as the ball kept hitting the crossbar, but I'm glad I got what I wanted. see you tomorrow at Santiago

Yeah, it's when you watch these games that you realise shots on target aren't really a good statistic on their own. Onana wasn't tested once the whole game, those late shots were all weak, tame, desperate. Still, good stuff and it makes me watch a game to the end, which would probably not happen often on Porto-Inter haha.
2168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC did not regulate security market (SIVB case) but want to regulate crypto on: March 15, 2023, 11:45:40 AM
I'm not in love with regulators, let me just say that first.

But the SEC's failure to foresee the banks' crash doesn't mean they didn't regulate. The fact they swooped in and took over another bank after SVB proves they are doing (some of) their job as a regulator. The punishments that come later, and the protections of customer deposits to come, that's also what you do get with regulation.

I think it's pointless for them to want to regulate decentralised networks like Bitcoin -- they already know this. What they do want to regulate is crypto businesses -- which is anything but decentralised. The problem I have is them wanting to determine who can use crypto and how they must use it, but I actually think because the majority of users don't have enough knowledge or information, the mainstream consumer is probably better off having the protections of regulation.

For the rest of us who want to use Bitcoin as it should, little of this affects us anyway, other than to inconvenience us heh.

Thanks ampera, indeed, this is my week and I went back to some old favourites (Kane, Saka, Watkins) and some picks I don't normally make (Havertz?).

Just to mention, it seems hard to view older Matchday results on the pulldown menu. I can only go to Matchday 25, and that's after adjusting the zoom on my browser. No biggie, just thought to mention it looks like a new display bug.

I'm glad you didn't miss out; the first game has already begun, and we went with four different answers on the spreadsheet; this is going to be fun; you must correctly get three of those questions to win.

Edit: trofo what happens if the Porto - Inter game end goaless? The rules says under 1.5 right or was there any under 0.5 option I missed ?

Under 1.5 covers 0... you don't bet over/unders? ha

1 tame shot got you your over 4.5 shots on target and your point. KdB saved me from going down 2 points... looks like Liverpool have to save me tomorrow, you'll probably win this round early if Real score first. Nice game, go ahead, gloat haha.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: March 14, 2023, 09:21:55 PM
Well. Anyone else think the penalty was what changed everything?

How that was given was a disgrace -- but blame Leipzig for collapsing after that. Quickest hattrick I've seen in a while, and it was all down to them losing their shape and nerve after the softest penalty you'll ever see.

And Ige: I SWEAR I entered picks!! And again they're missing too, what on earth haha.
2172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 14, 2023, 07:18:15 PM
I did that not too long ago (end of 2020). Probably mentioned it a couple of times since.

This was almost a full year before the eventual ATH -- I couldn't have known it at the time, but Bitcoin approaching 2017 ATH was already a huge signal of intent and for me a sure marker for a rally.

But circumstances required the cash, and I really didn't have a choice. So I sold most of what I'd built up over the years, with a twinge of regret, but still pleased that overall, I'd come into cash I couldn't otherwise have had saving in fiat.

DCA continued since, so I'm probably even "underwater" at these prices, as we're barely at $25k but I'm confident I'd still have saved up enough to have more on my next liquidation, than if I chose to keep in fiat.

Man, Trofo, thanks for the tag reminder. I had this at the back of my mind but would almost certainly have forgot my picks if not for the Telegram tag notify. I'm disappointed in myself!

@igehbotz: Let's do it (2 mbtc to the winner of this tie). Lucky or not: I made my picks in under 20 seconds but only because I agree, this round didn't require research (mainly because of tennis null). I don't think anything I can read will change my mind about Bundesliga, Barca, City, Napoli, Liverpool.

Really impressive breakout in recent days. I wonder if the pump is people front running a good CPI announcement by the FED today.

Absolutely took me by surprise too. Not sure I see how any kind of good CPI could cause this kind of buoyancy, particularly with last week's Powell words, but I'll take this surge with some enthusiasm (because man we need some more days above 25k!).

Not that there's any credence to Fed these days but I think they have moved swiftly to stem the collapse of banks... even reassuring the public it doesn't come from taxpayer funds (heh).

It's a nice day because today the price has skyrocketed by more than 17%, if we save in the bank then to get a bank interest of 17% in my country it takes 4 years, but with bitcoin 17% profit can be obtained in 24 hours,

And what will happen to your money if you buy bitcoin at 69k, and compared to the current price, your asset value will lose 70%? You can't compare bitcoin investment with bank savings, it's a lame comparison, if you want to compare, it's fairer than mentioning the risk of both.

Gotta start recognising spam posts, man.

Many types, but this is the type that says they would buy/sell but in reality, they're just collecting shitcoins.

My intuition (it's such a nice word, it's more like a random coinflip for me when it comes to F1) is that alonso will miss out by a whisker -- he should be Top 5, but not a podium finish.

Now whether or not I translate that into my BSFL picks is another coinflip.

Anyway, don't worry CLS63, lesson learnt, it's really funny about this fee thing isn't it? It really is not a big deal, and most of us have some form of BTC income from the forum itself, it's always a much lower fee than what most weeklies pay out. Anyway, moving on.

Great work Cro2 and joker again, I think I won at least 2 rounds just by pure luck -- and having many similar guesses to the true Red LFC_Bitcoin.

And now it's a matchup to Chelski PotteOUTer Kai-lover Igebotz -- have to try keep pace with casper, so need a win here -- I see Div 2 and 3 have unbeaten players still!

Since tennis question is for fun, Ige, want to sidebet anyway on this pick? 1 mbtc, free money for you as I'm going to wing it Wink

4 close scores all I managed. Not even enough for a slam point, boo. Yellow Cap attempt is not quite all it's made out to be heh.

Weird Arsenal celebration after dispatching Fulham: first team in English Football League history to win five consecutive London away derbies without conceding. I mean, I know London's full of teams and Fulham/Brentford v Arsenal aren't exactly big but I suppose a derby's a derby Wink

I was in the same position as you,I have totally screwed up in the Champions League, forgetting to put the picks several times and going with the defaults but even when I have put the picks there it was a disaster, first time for me playing there but I never expected to be this bad.

Quick off topic. I realised I also had def picks for UCL last round on early games, which is weird, I was sure I entered everything on time, doesn't make sense for me to skip the first half of games and enter scores for the next.

Not that I was losing a lot, but it's so tight there!

Unpopular opinion: Crash its way better than Mario. Close OT

I'm from the generation that thinks Earthworm Jim was the pinnacle...
