Although the BTC is recognized and has built a brand, I don't particularly like it, and prefer the latin B with horizontal bar...

I don't usually say this out loud, but BTC looks like an aerial view of a woman with large breasts and very small arms, beheaded. Headless bodies are more disconcerting to me than sodomy, so +1 for the Ƀ.

Hmm, good point, never thought of that one  Grin

What do you see now from up there... ɃBTC
2182  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Arcade - Promoting Bitcoin with Games on: July 29, 2012, 11:49:43 PM
Project went on the backburner for a couple weeks while I found an appropriate web host, and we made some progress on some browser-based games. Would love to know if there's any interest in this so far!

Where can I play?  Cheesy

Additionally, the latin B has no pre-existing connotations that I know of that we need to worry about, whereas the existing B is the symbol for the existing Thai Baht fiat currency.

This BTC is the Bitcoin and this is Thai Baht. Spot the differences

Sorry for the rant

Love the work some people did here and hope Coinabul picks one of these logos  Grin

Honestly anyone who falls for this scam probably deserves to get scammed.

It seems as though someones using my work as their own.. http://www.btcwallet.org/2012/07/03/info-graphic-bitcoin/

See other postings here - http://tinyurl.com/bsokoou

Looks like people think it is open license.

I say write this off as a contribution to the bitcoin community and move on.

Take the time you are putting into trying to squeeze blood from a stone and put it towards getting new clients!

Add this to your portfolio though. If people have seen it and they say "You did this?" Then this is a GOOD THING!

R- clearly didn't honor his agreement, an IMO should be held accountable just as any other person would be committing other forms of theft on the forum. Not taking action against him puts Mushroomized as well as every other designer here at more risk of the same happening again. If he wants to honor it now, fine, but I have a feeling he is going to continue these pitiful partial payments, wasting as much time as possible hoping everyone will just give up so he doesn't have to pay the total. Those things aside, the promised payment was quite large. He would have to do a LOT of jobs to make that much. I see no reason why he shouldn't see this through. You would expect better behavior from a forum VIP, it makes us all look bad.

^this +1
2187  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB]bitcoin T-shirt on: July 29, 2012, 11:42:50 AM
Something like "We use Bitcoin now" or "credit card,Srsly? embrace Bitcoin Now"
Or an image showing a "฿" sitting on the "$" which is lying on the ground.
I would buy a Bitcoin logo shirt, but I refuse to buy a Thai Baht symbol shirt.

2188  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A new Humble Bundle and bitcoins not accepted -- make your voice heard on: July 29, 2012, 11:03:46 AM
Setting up a "buy with bitcoin" button is trivial with bit-pay, even if you don't have a shopping cart. The revenues can be split in coins and fiat, and always sent the next day to a bank account or bitcoin address by bit-pay's tos. I appreciate the work these guys do but they are being picky, just like wikipedia, accepting bitcoin.
2189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your cryptocoins were stolen and you called the police? WTF? Are you serious? on: July 29, 2012, 10:51:49 AM
Property is property

You steal username/password to an online game from me and sell the account I am going to call the Police.

what if I guess your username/password?

What if you guess he's wifi password, bank login or the pin number of the house alarm?
2190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your cryptocoins were stolen and you called the police? WTF? Are you serious? on: July 29, 2012, 10:39:44 AM
What the Hell were we talking about again?

Oh - why call the police? That's an easy one. Private companies are often unwilling to provide information or do an internal investigation without a court order, which pretty much necessitates involving the police. So.... why involve the police? - I want my $5k worth of BTC back. That's not an endorsement of government, just simple greed and common sense.

+1 exact reason in bold
2191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheapest place to get Bitcoins? on: July 29, 2012, 10:23:42 AM
Sounds like a bull market. Well, thanks! I'll just continue looking around.

You didn't make it clear.  Are you looking to buy from miners because that is how to get clean, generated coins?  Most miners get proceeds from a pool, which won't necessarily be newly generated coins.  Or are you thinking a miner might be able to sell to you cheaper than going through an exchange (which is generally not likely)?  Or perhaps you are just looking to buy a larger amount (e.g., bulk purchase?)

Don't have any problems with Intersango.
I also believe there good guys.

And who are you btw?
2196  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WANTED] 6+ BTC for GBP on: July 28, 2012, 07:27:30 PM
With Intersango's problems and having to wait on MtGox to process account verification , I'm looking for alternative purchase methods.

I can easily do bank transfers or purchase UKash. I don't want to bother with Paypal.

I'm open to suggestions or offers - the easier and cheaper the better Smiley

2197  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Zhou Tong, You better pay me now... on: July 28, 2012, 06:01:38 PM
See, that's what I was talking about.

Someone steals thousands of Bitcoins, you guys open a thread to discuss about the issue and you guys just talk about Maria, about boobs and irrelevant stuff.

I mean it's okay to make fun but not when there's a debt and a theft that should be cleared.

It's a known tactic... #1

2198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to deposit GBP to get BTC by Sunday? on: July 28, 2012, 05:08:47 PM
Heh, account verification to withdraw GBP would be fair enough. But for BTC? That's riduculous... It's not even a real currency technically, about as real as WoW gold.

You call verification for BTC transactions as "riduculous" and then...

And yeah, I have heared that if you're using a particular VPN, they will ask for ID regardless.
I think we all know why.

...accept it as a fact. Where you heard that? What particular VPN? Please explain you post or get used to being ignored, http://pastebin.com/irj4Fyd5
If you log in to your MtGox account using Tor, they demand ID immediately because they assume you're using the Bitcoin to make illicit purchases.

Ok, I knew that "rumor", but we're not talking about tor here

FYI, I just bought some coins on MtGox - I sent the transfer Wednesday evening and it showed early this morning.

Annoyingly, they asked for account verification when I tried to withdraw the BTC. I've uploaded the documents, now it's just a waiting game.
It was large BTC quantity? If you don't mind answering
No, it was only a small amount, so I thought I would be fine.

Without thinking I had my VPN running (as I do 99% of the time anyway), so this may be why?

If anyone has insight into how long verification can take I would be interested to hear.

The verification process can take as long as two weeks, it depends on your luck Smiley

You got some kind of warning for using a VPN? Sorry to bother with my questions, but I find the issue intriguing.
2200  Economy / Marketplace / Re: My first business topic (Anon Visa) on: July 28, 2012, 04:19:24 PM
Exactly,

I will send 8 Visa Anon cards to Psy on tuesday, through priority mail. He will only send me the 24 BTC when the letter arrives to him.

I want, by doing my first transaction on here, to show my honesty and reliability.

That's all fine by me, but, can you sign the message with your key? I saw you are using a tormail account, so you should know how to do it. Cheers
