Awesome, I don't see this on the site though, it's def implemented? I must be missing it on the site.

I sent coin, how long does it take?

it has to confirm, usually about 10 minutes or so. if you want an opponent to play you, you'll have to search for one yourself. I need to launch an ad capaign before people can find other players. i do have a friend who wants to buy some bitcoins from me and play though, so maybe tomarrow i can talk to him and he can play you.

ps: I also need people to check the site for sql injection vulnerabilities. I think i stopped them all, but i know people have been trying.

Oh, people can't see my game? Why not make the default to challenge everyone?

I like the idea of kicking back full commission to the person who puts out a challenge to everyone.

if you join up, you'll see the welcome message i added. basically is says that i changed the knight so it moves 3 and 1 instead of 2 and 1. i'm pretty sure it will piss alot of people off, but in the long run, it will prevent cheating in a big way. you can't just go out and download chessmaster 3000 and use it in a tournament. i this is the best possible solution. it's was simple to implement it, and it's easy for players to adapt.

2183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitpay 'patent' on the 'deposit card' concept? on: May 23, 2012, 11:22:23 PM
A search of the US Patent Application database was unable to return any relevant results.

I did, however, find this and several other applications similar to it which may constitute prior art:

United States Patent Application    20120123923
Nicolaidis; Chris ;   et al.    May 17, 2012
STORED VALUE EXCHANGE METHOD AND APPARATUS

"An apparatus and method for exchanging one form of stored value for another form of value. In one embodiment, a method for exchanging stored value for an alternative form of value comprises receiving stored value account information relating to the stored value from a remote user device, and determining a market value of the stored value. The method further comprises generating an offer to exchange the stored value for an alternative form of value and sending the offer to the remote user device. An indication of acceptance of the offer from the remote user device is then received and the alternative form of value is exchanged for the stored value. Finally, the stored value is exchanged for another form of value equal to the market value."

A patent on trading things at their market value, nice, nice.

I think there is a bug. After a few hands on puddle, there is nothing listed under the Net column for the table.

It is not a bug. It is not normal for everyone who happens by or joins later to know how you've been doing. We weren't able to turn it off until recently that's the only reason it was ever showing.

I have not yet been added.

Gotcha now.
2186  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: May 23, 2012, 03:03:44 PM
What might it mean if blockchain.info has heard of an unconfirmed tx, but I haven't and neither has blockexplorer?
2187  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitcoinTalk Freeroll this Thursday at Seals on: May 23, 2012, 02:42:44 PM
I've recently started playing / got addicted with seals. Allthough I still suck.
Its a shame I wont be able to make it as I'll be at work.. (could probs play.. but if my boss walks by I might need to stop for a few mins grrr Sad )

Missing a few hands in a freeroll isn't so bad. Maybe you'll miss a hand you would have busted out on!

Let it be known that I got the first payout from Pirate's 5th project.

Damn.  Were you behind that spike just now?

I love it, 1% is a legit spike now.

But how is a release of coins related to dollars buying up some bitcoins?
2189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce yourself :) on: May 23, 2012, 02:47:37 AM
It's been a while since I first heard about Bitcoins.  I had to look up a chart from this Wired Article to figure out when that was.  It looks like I first heard about them around July 2011.

I was on PokerProsNetwork back when it was on the Cake Netowrk (site went to crap lately, different story).  They had a chat room and this guy ThundeToe was telling me about how he was buying up some high end video card to mine bitcoins.  I can't remember how we got started talking about it.  Probably he was bragging to me about it and I naturally was curious.  I remember him talking about $20 and $30 bitcoins so that puts the date around July 2011.

Anyways, somehow I learned about SealsWithClubs.org (now it's .eu), maybe from thundetoe, maybe through a google search, and I figured, what the hell, this could blow up big.  So I was playing their winner take all freerolls every hour.  I would stay up late when there were like 6 people playing so I could win 0.05 BTC.  Then I used those profits to play the half hourly which had 0.1B or maybe it was .05B Added, I can't remember now.  It wasn't long until I had a bitcoin, then 10, then when I got to 50, I was pretty pleased, that being a block reward.  I used to say, "I have Fifty Nifty Bitcoins".

I got up to about 96B, I don't think I've hit the 100 mark yet, but SWC is a great place to win bitcoins.  I looked into mining and of course I was put off by the capital outlays.  I'm interested in trying to buy bitcoin bonds, I want to put some of these BTC to work for me.  I was gonna buy a $100 Kroger Gift Card with my BTC but I changed my mind.  I really want to reinvest these things somehow.  But as far as the bonds go, it looks like a first come first serve thing, and I've missed the boat so far.  As they expand their mining operations, I hope to be able to buy some.

Evo is a boss. Watch out if you see him at the table.

I'm registering each of you directly. You ought be able to see yourself registered. Don't unregister.
2191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does one become a Bitcoin entrepreneur? on: May 22, 2012, 09:20:41 AM
...if it was someone else would have already done it.

I totally think that for everything not bitocin related (likely wrongly). But for bitcoin it's like, ok, there are maybe 50k users and 500 makers who are crazy busy so there must be endless ideas that there just hasn't been time to make happen yet. So much brand new going on here.
2192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does one become a Bitcoin entrepreneur? on: May 22, 2012, 08:24:37 AM
I was selling some coins to a guy in Starbucks and it was awkward because he was late and my laptop battery had died and I accessed an instawallet with too many coins from his laptop so I needed to send them to myself... but I didn't know any of my addresses since they are stupidly long. BAM FIRSTBITS. Now I pay hosting fees and make no money, but girls are writting them on their skin so one day it's all going to work out.

But really, figure out how to solve a problem for people and you'll proabably do well.

The Starbucks story is not made up. Firstbits actually occured to me while the guy was still there and I blurted it out and he wasn't impressed. I can't remember exactly but I don't think my first notion of it was very well formed.

SgtSpike - Definitely the best online poker site I've ever taken part in.  Wink  Seems I'm always late to the party, being PST and all though!

Thanks Spike. PSTers are always welcome, but -must- show up earlier. :-)

Post your Seals username in this thread to be registered for a 3BTC Texas Hold'em freeroll at 9pm ET on Thursday. You must do this by 9am ET Thursday to be SURE to get in, but likely I can get some latecomers in.

Feel free to also post how much you love playing at Seals and how excellent you think Seals support is.
2195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica stolen coin returns on: May 22, 2012, 01:13:57 AM
the development of an alt-coin (double blinding signing) which makes such registries more such lunacy more difficult to implement.

Are you suggesting it is possible to combine eCash blinded signature with a decentralized blockchain, somehow? In other words, a fully anonymous p2p currency??
Please, explain a little more if that's the case. Perhaps open a new topic about it...

Yeah, it would be like magic. I mean Bitcoin is like magic sort of, but no double spending and no trail just seems like fairy tales. Obv I'm very interested if someone can explain how this could be possible.
2196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you see bit coin in the next 2 - 6 months on: May 22, 2012, 01:05:38 AM
I'm not too concerned about the price as much as I am about increasing bitcoin's use as a currency for goods and services–––less exchanging for fiat and more buying and selling of actual stuff.

This.

Right now there's an emphasis on converting BTC into fiat. This gives BTC value, but ultimately serves as a tool to have fiat at the end of the day. That is after all the only way to pay the bills.

Some day though, if all goes according to plan, people will want to hold or buy BTC for its flexibility and use as a "better" currency.

Instead of "I want to make BTC to convert to fiat" we will hear "I need fiat to get some BTC"

I expect to hear, "Fiat? I earn and spend coins"

I don't know if "I work for fiat to get coins" is particularly different than "I provide services for btc to pay my USD bills" I mean they are different, but both help in their ways.

I guess it's going to be hard living for you know OP. Are you at least keeping back some of your money/income for food? I guess that would mean something is worth more to you than devoting resources to Fukushima though, which seems to contradict your message. Maybe you mostly meant that Fukushima was more important than anything we might be using our money for though.

Does any body know what a nice payment gateway option is ?

I'ld look into this new one, ... it's called Bitcoin.

I've also had good experiences with that one.
2199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica stolen coin returns on: May 20, 2012, 10:52:17 PM
Why is nobody addressing the real elephant in the room? Any time somebody purchases Bitcoins with fiat money they are doing so with tainted money.

Let it go. Move on to something more productive in the world of Bitcoin.

Heh yeah.

Not just when you buy bitcoins either.

And the biggest criminals use the freshest dollars!
2200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica stolen coin returns on: May 20, 2012, 10:45:52 PM
Why does it matter if you give the tainted coins back instead of whichever your client sends? What is Bitcoinica going to be able to do to untaint them anyway?
