2201  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 05, 2023, 06:20:33 AM
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?

Find another reason why you are working for your current job.
For your family? You want to help other people? You don't have an emergency fund? Any reason that you need.

As long as you can still work, work. As long as you can still do what you are doing, do it. I've seen people who have a passive income that's pays more than their current income, but instead of them quitting their job, they are still working for some personal reasons. Balance your time. What's the reason why you want to quit working? You want to spend time with your family? Then balance your time working and give more time with your family. You are quitting because you're tired already? You can make a vacation for at least a month or 2, but don't quit working.

Look at those successful businessmen right now. They aren't quitting what they are doing even though they are earning millions or even billions of money. The best example here is Warren Buffet. I can't see the total dividend income that he got last year, but in 2021, he got at around $3.8 Billions in passive income (thru dividends). I believe you're not as near as that, but the point is, he got that huge amount of money thru passive income, but he's still working and at that age, he must've rest already and just sleep all day all night, but he doesn't.

Work. Don't quit. Just think that the income that you're getting in your current job will be put into your investments.

Anyone here get trap on the Wizards vs Nets?, no Kyrie and the Nets are depleted, but Cam Thomas huge 44 points for the Nets.

They make a great comeback from the Wizards to be able win this game. Morris missed both crucial free throws to at least time the game. And in the rebounds it was a scramble but Nets come up with a big rebound to seal the win.
Cam Thomas? The one who upset the Knicks last season when they Nets are down also by 25, but made a comeback on the road. Maybe some can't remember it anymore, but Stephen A. Smith was upset on the Knicks at what happened to them and his disappointment was on Youtube Cheesy. Kind of funny to me that I can't forget it.

Well, it's a bit surprising, but seeing both teams, Kuzma was also out in the 2nd quarter and didn't return because of an ankle sprain and it's only Porzingis that is the all-star there. Anyway, it's the three-point shooting in the 2nd half that made the Nets made a comeback, and the heroic performance of Cam Thomas. A trivia, Cam Thomas is the 3rd Nets player who scored 40 or more off the bench. They knew that he can be the guy that can step up when needed. It's just sad that he isn't a consistent player maybe because he doesn't been given that much time to play.

Anyway, good comeback win for the Nets and that is without Irving who is making a drama again. Cheesy Congratulations to all winners of their bets as well. Smiley
2203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: February 05, 2023, 03:16:07 AM
So what i need to know should I convert it to stable coin or should I invest it for bitcoin?
Your decision.

It's your money not ours so why asking it to us? Make your own research, and decide base on what you saw or watched. I can say that just convert it into stablecoins, but some might not agree. I can also say that you should convert all of it into Bitcoin and some might disagree as well. I can say that just hold it until you want it and some will disagree. Better make our own decision and don't let us decide for you because you will just be confused because we don't have the same opinions/answers.

Because my friends say that BNB don't have a future anymore. So I'm fully worry about this.
Maybe he's right or maybe he's not.

After all, there are many CEX that turned out to be a scam exchange already in the past. The recent FTX incident just shook us investors because the ones we thought as a good and big exchange turned to be a scam. I'm not saying that Binance will do the same, but it's better to be safe than sorry. For me, Binance is a good exchange since they have many users worldwide. Just be ready if the worst scenario happen. What your friend said might be true or not. Cheesy
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 05, 2023, 02:26:53 AM
Kyrie said he will re-sign with the Nets in the summer.
Kyrie also said he will stay with Durant for the rest of this season.

Now a change of decision right away lol. Maybe the Nets need to consider rushing things in a few days and grant what Kyrie wants. What a waste of their slot if the trade won't be executed and he will sit out the entire season. The Nets can acquire good role players in return with Kyrie's current worth.
I don't know if anybody aside from me saw some articles online, but aside from the Lakers, Mavericks and the Suns, the Clippers are joining the ride as well and they have a huge offer to give for the Nets just to get Kyrie Irving.

I made a quick search on which players the Clippers want to trade just to get Kyrie, but unfortunately I don't see anything. Now the question is, will the Clippers trade either Kawhi or PG just to get Kyrie? Or they will give draft picks plus role players just to get him? I would be excited to see the Big 3 of Kyrie, Kawhi and PG in the Clippers.

The Nets really wanted to trade Kyrie before the trade deadline (which is kind of surprising for me base on the article I read), and the Clippers are in need of a reliable point guard right now that can facilitate and at the same time, score.
2205  Economy / Economics / Re: What was your lowest point financially? How did you go through it ? on: February 04, 2023, 03:55:06 PM
Me living my old 8-5 job because I want to have freedom.

When I graduated at college, I was thinking of a way to earn money since I just graduated then I worked as an employee here in our town, but just a month after being hired, I don't feel that I will work long there for some reasons. At that time, I don't want to get ordered. I just want freedom. I want to do whatever I want to do.

Cut the story short, I quitted from that job and find a way to earn online. My problem at that time is that, I don't have money to spend at that time so I'm always asking for my parents to give me some money for food which is kind of embarrassing at that time because I need to work since I graduated already, but here I am asking for their money still. It took 3 months before I got an online job and that's the start of me earning money online. Right now I'm not asking my parents to give them some money anymore, but it's the opposite already.

TBH, I'm not like other users here who shared some very sad events in their life, but that's how life is folks. Problems are inevitable so the only thing that we can do is to solve them. Just hustle always so that we will not get to the point where we will be having a hard time financially.
2206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 04, 2023, 02:59:12 PM

I also thought of that for a second knowing that Phoenix just got their first win of the conference, they might build a momentum. On the other hand, I also believe that Simmons will fulfill his promise that he will go back to CBA with his team having a 4-0 record and why not? He is making huge numbers in his last 3 games including his heroic performance against the TNT where they made a comeback and won the game by 2 points.

Anyway, the game between NLEX and Phoenix started already and it's NLEX leading by 7 by the time I'm posting it with 3 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter. I already put my bet on NLEX -6.5 before the start of the game.
Bad pick, I was thinking of a good win, it was close in the first 3 quarters but the 4th quarter was a major difference of the game. The import of the NLEX was so good, he made his team better because everyone was confident in defending and shooting the ball. Congrats @bisdak for the win.
I didn't watch the whole game, but at one point, the NLEX are up by 10 with 3 minutes remaining and when I saw the score again the second time, the game was over already and the NLEX won, but only by 4 points.

Well, Simmons really stick to his promise and gave his team a 4-0 early advantage. I mean he's an ex-NBA player and is capable of scoring 25 or 30 PPG so there is a chance that he can really do it and in fact, he's the leading scorer right now in the conference. Unfortunately, that will be his last game because he will go back to China and play there. Simmons' replacement import will be Wayne Selden Jr. and he's another ex-NBA player. I just wish that the NLEX will continue their momentum in their first 4 games now that they have a different import already. There might be a chance as well that Simmons might return to our league and play again if he is free. Who knows. Smiley
2207  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: MIR M: Vanguard & Vagabond bagong version ng MIR4 NFT game on: February 04, 2023, 02:44:54 PM

2208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ? on: February 04, 2023, 09:08:46 AM
Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrency
King of cryptocurrency? Where does that come from?
You mean Bitcoin is the "King" and whenever there's a king, there's also a queen so who is the queen of cryptocurrency? Funny logic of yours saying Bitcoin is like a "King". Bitcoin is Bitcoin that's all. No king or prince or whatever you want to call to it. Bitcoin is just at the top cryptocurrency in terms of market cap that's all.

What makes an altcoin really trustworthy ? And why ? Please let me know your opinions.
The team? Community? The use-case of it?
We've seen it all. We've seen a team of a particular project that is very, very good, but their project ended up either as a scam project or a dead project. We've seen a project with a huge community that ended up as a dead project. We've also seen new projects that has a good use-case and very helpful to the people, but ended up as a scam.

In short, there are no trustworthy and reliable projects right now especially in altcoins. I want to say those top market cap coins are more trustworthy, but even those altcoins are ending up as a scam. FTX, Luna, Bitconnect in the past, Centra and many more that are now gone because they are a scam projects. Right now, it's Bitcoin that I can consider as a trustworthy and reliable, but altcoins? Even those at the top aren't trustworthy and reliable to me. It's kind of ironic that I'm saying it where in fact, I'm also holding some altcoins. Cheesy

NLEX has a game tonight against Phoenix, maybe the last game of Simmons before leaving for good and for me fulfilling his promise of 4 wins before he leaves is doable so i'm taking this NLEX ML @1.47 right now as there are no other beautiful odds to bet at the moment.

I have other plans, hehe.. sorry I'm going against your bet. I'm betting on Simmons not being able to fulfill his promise, so I'm with the Phoenix on underdog odds. They are +6.5 and 3.25 for ML. Anyway, may the best team wins, though I'm not so interested in this game, but no choice, I have to feel some action while watching the game.
I also thought of that for a second knowing that Phoenix just got their first win of the conference, they might build a momentum. On the other hand, I also believe that Simmons will fulfill his promise that he will go back to CBA with his team having a 4-0 record and why not? Any thoughts about the second game which is Meralco and Blackwater? Who did you bet your money with? Who do you think will win?
2210  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC rise described as false bull on: February 04, 2023, 08:23:40 AM
I also thought about it, but it's been around 3 weeks since it reached the $20,000 price and also reached as high as $24,000 price.

When I saw it, I thought it was a false breakout and I expect it to go down soon. Now 3 weeks after, I might change how I see it and I guess it's more like, the market really is starting to recover now since it has stayed above $20,000 for 3 weeks now. Let's see if it will stay at that price for a month. Still, I would like to remain cautious because what happened is kind of surprising to others since we don't know what is the reason of this recent price spike.

Overall, it's good to see Bitcoin's price above $20,000 again, but I'll stick to my 2023 prediction that Bitcoin's price will stay at the price range of $17,000-$25,000.
2211  Economy / Speculation / Re: My fear in fall of Bitcoin. on: February 04, 2023, 08:07:12 AM
I'm having a headache reading your thread OP like literally. Your analogy made me confused to the point that I need to read it 5 times before getting your point.
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that no has the capability to predict it's rise or fall.
We know it just like what other markets.

Cause Bitcoin is determined by the number of people in the digital market.
You are talking about the price of Bitcoin here right OP?

Just like the higher the number of people that purchase Bitcoin the lower it's price and for it price to go higher it requires some Bitcoin investors, traders and miner's to withdraw some percentage of their Bitcoin.
It's completely the opposite of what you said.
The higher number of people who buy some asset = it increases the price not lowering. Higher demand, same supply = price increase not decrease like you said.
The higher the number of investors and miners that will sell or withdraw their Bitcoin = that will make the price go down.

So I still have the doubt of Bitcoin shooting higher  just as we are expecting in 2024.
It's completely normal for a newbie to have doubts.
Try to learn at least the basics of Bitcoin and maybe some basics of economics. That will help you in your investing journey. Smiley
2212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 04, 2023, 07:39:51 AM
^ Ya, that is crazy news that Kyrie has formally requested a trade with only a short time before the trade deadline. It isn’t totally unexpected though. KD hasn’t been healthy, Ben Simmons is a mess, and Kyrie wants to win championships. I think he needs LeBron. We’ll see what happens but I’m sure Lakers fans everywhere are hoping that a Kyrie for Westbrook trade happens. I can’t imagine it does for many reasons, but I’m not sure who is in a position to trade for Kyrie.
Kyrie wanted a contract extension with the Nets which is obviously denied by the front office knowing how hard-headed Kyrie is, and all the dramas that he has. Who wants to give Kyrie a long term contract?

Now since Kyrie didn't get what he wanted, he wants to be traded. The question is which team will get Kyrie? Or is there any team that will get Kyrie? 6 days before the trade deadline, this makes it very exciting because we didn't see that much trades or trade request until this one.

What can the Nets do? I think the best thing is a sign and trade deal. I mean I don't see any team that like him or can pay him with his current contract unless he wants to be with the bottom teams like the Pistons or the Thunder. Lakers? That's his dream yes. His dream is to be with Lebron and play with him "again" after the beef they had in the past. The question now is, will Kyrie accept a lower contract just to make his dream come true? Is the Lakers capable of signing him?

If this happens Kevin Durant will surely like to leave too and I don't doubt every team will start poking out to get KD in their roster even for a high price or sacrificing half of a star-studded roster. The Nets will be left with nothing, back to square one, but there are teams who make a successful one by doing this. Utah Jazz is a good example.
It depends.

If Kyrie will get traded and the Nets manage to get another all-star, there is a chance that KD will stay. The Nets are a star-studded team like you said, but they didn't achieve anything. Lost to the Bucks 2 years ago, got swept by the Celtics last season. Traded Harden for Simmons which obviously favored the Sixers base on how both players are playing.
2213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries do you think this year will adopt Bitcoin as a Legal tender? on: February 04, 2023, 02:27:06 AM

Every mainstream media outlets controlled or financed by the big financial institution were against them when they adopted Bitcoin as a legal tender.
Well, what do you expect?
Media outlets = controlled by the government. Financial institutions = controlled or at least has a huge relation with the government. Bitcoin = against what the governments are doing. Expect that they will be against it. Brainwashing at it's peak. Cheesy.

TBH, it's hard to know which countries will make Bitcoin a legal tender. I mean during the 14 years of existence of it, only 2 countries accepted it as a legal tender but on the other hand, it's also good to see countries starting to accept it. Probably those small and developing countries are the ones who will start accepting it. First world countries might not have any interest on Bitcoin being a legal tender.
2214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your earliest Gambling Story? on: February 03, 2023, 02:35:17 PM
Gambling you mean either physical casino or online right because I don't have any experience yet when it comes to a casino because there's no nearby casino in our place that's why whenever I'm gambling, I'm doing it online.

Well, my earliest gambling story was way back when I'm still at the primary level. In the months of March to May, a group of people are coming into our town and building these small gambling places (don't know the correct term for it TBH) where you will pick where the ball will land and if you guessed it correctly, you win. That's a form of gambling still right? Cheesy. Anyway, at that time, I was addicted at that game to the point where I'm getting all of my saved money just to have money to be used to play or gamble at that time. What's the ending? I lost all of them but hey, I'm still at primary level at that time so I didn't feel disappointed or any bad feelings.

I just wish that this year, I can experience going into a real casino but when I will go there, I will not get too much money because I knew how they can manipulate you to spend more money.
2215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 03, 2023, 02:27:30 PM
Magnolia are down as high as 16 points against the TNT and I thought that they can still defeat them when they chipped down the league into 2 points in the 4th quarter, but just after that huge run, TNT made their own run and put the lead to double digits again to the point that Magnolia can't fight back anymore.

TNT's import, Hudson only scored 14 points and shot 4/17 from the field but it's good that the locals like Pogoy, the 2 Williams and Oftana stepped up offensively. On one hand, Magnolia's import McCree only scored 12 points on 4/9 shooting. Both imports struggled offensively, but McCree is just having a hard time shooting the ball that he only attempted 9 times all throughout the whole game. That shows that the scouts of TNT are doing their job thus, they know how to stop Magnolia's import. TNT came back after that defeat against the NLEX while the Magnolia are still winless.

The first game? Do we need to talk about it? I mean from the start, we already knew who will win right? Cheesy.
2216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 03, 2023, 08:47:05 AM
Nice to see the Lakers get the win but LeBron only scored 26 so he’s going to need a big game against the Pelicans on Saturday if he’s going to break the record against the Thunder like people think. Personally, I think he gets the record against the Bucks easily and puts up similar scoring efforts in the next two games. Nice to see AD back and the Lakers winning.
63 points away from beating the scoring title.
Just a bit of a trivia that I saw in Facebook. Lebron James is the only player in NBA history that is in the top 5 in both points and assists. If that doesn't impress you as an NBA fan then maybe you aren't a NBA fan at all. There is also an interview where Lebron really wants to be a pass-first guy, but that changes overtime.

Anyway, his average PPG in his last 5 games is 32.2 and with only 63 points, the Thunder are the ones who has a chance to witness greatness. However, he averaged 27 PPG in his last 2 games and if he only scores less than 30 points in his last 2 games, the Bucks might be the lucky ones to witness it in person. Personally, I'm thinking that he might rest in the next games though it's unlikely to happen.

How about the Brooks vs Mitchell fight? The Grizzlies added more competition or... enemies.  Cheesy Brooks cheap shot, too obvious.
Here's the link.

Brooks trying to be the Draymond Green V2.0 isn't he? Cheesy
Cheap shots here, cheap shots there, trash talking other teams. Still the word that made him popular is the term "dynasty" which is un-applicable to them.
2217  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: February 03, 2023, 07:15:35 AM
~
Let's say you take loans from a bank and sometimes for whatever reason, you can not pay the debt on time, then you borrow money from other channels. Sure this works for a certain period but later bad things may happen, you have to postpone the payment and struggle with finances again. Isn't this a vicious circle ? How would you deal with the problem ? I am all ears.
I've seen some people around my community doing this type of thing and I saw one common thing to all of them.
They are struggling to budget their monthly salary. All of them are the same.

I mean they will get a loan not on banks, but for a specific person (P2P loan) and then if they can't pay that on time, they will borrow again to another person (P2P loan again) and the cycle goes on and on and on until time comes when no one wants go give a loan to them because of what they are doing. TBH it's very unfortunate to see people doing things like this, but on the flip side, I can't blame them at all because their monthly salary is just enough for them to cover their daily expenses. They don't have any emergency funds at all thus, they are forced to borrow money.

How would I deal with that problem? 3 ways.
1. Have an emergency funds
2. Add income stream.
3. Don't do it at all.

Having an emergency funds that will help you whenever you need of something will be a big help and you will not force yourself to borrow money because you have money already to cover whatever expenses you have.

Adding income stream will help because like what I said, you will not forced to borrow from other people or banks since you have enough money to spend.

If you don't want yourself to be on this vicious cycle for your whole lifetime, don't do it at all. Those 3 ways are kind of connected with you get what I mean. Smiley

New? I don't think so.
They've been doing this for a long time already. If they aren't saying positive things about it, they are saying negative things. It's either they will say things that aren't helpful towards Bitcoin at all or they will tell negative things towards it.

Manipulation. Money. That's how most of the media is right now. They're being manipulated. I just don't want to say names or organizations, but you knew it already who they are. We who know what's happening to Bitcoin are just ignoring what the media are saying towards cryptocurrency. They can say anything that they want, but they can't brainwash us people who know more than the media when it comes to crypto.

The problem might be those newbies and the ones who are thinking of investing into crypto as they might have doubts in their mind whether they will invest into crypto or not.

Converge XFibers is really seriously competing as an independent team. They have a good start.

Although it's expected that once playoffs come, an SMC or MVP team might spoil their good run in the eliminations.

But who knows if they can upset those teams. I'm looking forward on that now that they have a good import who just recently established a triple-double performance.
They are since they entered the league 2 seasons ago.

In their first season, they managed to place 7th, but lost to the TNT who went to the Finals on that season in just one game. The second season is just last season where they placed as high as 3rd at the rankings, but ended up in the 5th spot and lost to SMB in 2 games.

Now entering their 3rd season this Governor's Cup, they are still undefeated with 4-0 record. The Converge FiberXers is a team to be reckoned with because at their current pace of playing, they might beat those giant companies like SMC and MVP in the playoffs unless... you know what I mean already. Cheesy Anyway, I'll watch out for Converge this conference and maybe putting some bets on them will make me money.

Cleveland Cavaliers - Memphis Grizzlies - Cleveland Cavaliers (-5.5) - Grizzlies an underdog too despite being one of the top teams in the West. It could be because no one will handle the paint without Steven Adams and the Cavs' strength is deep under that rim with Allen and Mobley.
Easy win for the Cavaliers on their home.
After the winning streak of the Grizzlies, they lost on 7 of their last 8 games. Is there any problem with the team right now?
As for the Cavaliers, the combination of Allen and Mobley inside the paint is a big help for the team. I mean if you're the opponent of Cavaliers, you might get intimidated by these 2 big players defending the paint. They both got a double-double. Congrats.

Indiana Pacers - Los Angeles Lakers - Los Angeles Lakers (-4.5) I still don't see the Pacers winning without Tyrese Haliburton, the Lakers will probably add one more on the Pacers' losing streak.
The Lakers won, but not your bet unfortunately.
The Pacers lead as high as 15, but Davis' fadeaway at the final seconds of the game secured the win for them. Lebron got 26 points, but the best player tonight is Davis with 31 points and 14 rebounds. I don't know if he's back to his normal self already, but I hope he will and will not get injured as they are still at the bottom of the standings. Keeping himself and Lebron healthy will carry the team especially on the tight Western Conference battle.

Dallas Mavericks - New Orleans Pelicans - Dallas Mavericks (-4.5) This could become a close game if the Pelicans will play the same way they did against the Nuggets. Take advantage of the time when Doncic will rest like what they did when Jokic and Murray were benched. If not, it will be a blowout.
When I saw that the lead of the Mavericks was at 23, I thought that it's over already, but I'm a bit shocked that the Pelicans managed to claw back and just lost by a single digit. Lucky for those who put a bet on the Pelicans on spread.

I didn't sent a screenshot, but I also put a bet on the Bucks Vs. Clippers.
I put my bet on the Bucks before the game at 1.76 and then during at the 4th quarter at 2.60. I'm not watching when the Clippers are leading by 20+ points because it's a good time to bet on the Bucks. At least I won my bet still.

Giannis erupted again for 54 points, 1 point away from his career high of 55. He scored more than half of the team's total points. He just took over the final minutes of the game and manage to get a win. Congratulations to us. Smiley
