2241  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: So what the hell are we supposed to buy? on: April 26, 2013, 11:33:58 AM
As it's apparent ASICs are coming/here, I also want to get in, but unlike most rich people, and I mean rich about people whose standards are that 10k is cheap, normal and can be gotten within 2-3 months of work or whatever.

I have only $1400-1500 atm and this amount is very big by my standards, what can I get with this amount that will have worth hashing at the absurd difficulties that will follow? $1400-500 with the intention of getting a done unit, not DYI that costs more and is worthless in speed unless you have 700btc, which I do not.
$1400-1500 for a done unit? Drop an order with BFL and pray to whatever god you believe that they'll ship your order to you before next year.

Or try a DIY/assembled by others unit via Avalon's chip orders.

PS: The shipping from Avalon to OP is calculated at 0.035BTC per person regardless of how many chips you order for simplicity. He'll be footing the rest if needed according to him.

No update yesterday?
The hashrates are climbing quickly as we speak here - it's 7,705.90 GH/s currently. Friedcat is indeed adding in new hashrates fast!  Grin

Looking to pull the trigger on another 220 chips @ 17.624. Does that include fees and shipping in the calculator John... sorry for asking just want to make one payment.

I am looking at 220 more chips @ 17.624. That doesn't include shipping and fees or does it?

Just put your total amount of chips wanted (including previous ordered chips) in the calculator, and it'll spit the total BTC needed. Subtract this with your previous funds sent and you're game. And yes, there's space as I am doing this on a first come first serve basis.

Your previous order is 25.619BTC with 320 chips, so for 220 more chips the total amount would be 43.208BTC, or adding 17.589BTC.

Added, but you're at 20.44 chips now. (extra 0.035 AFAIK as everyone only has to pay that once)

Ok.  I can apply that to shipping when it comes time.
Chalked that up.

Hi, just wanted to put a good word in for John. Bogart sold me some videocards, and John was kind enough to escrow my funds while Bogart shipped to me. Was my first escrow, and everything worked flawlessly.

Good guy, I trust him. Thanks! A+
Thanks again for everything. (and posting in this thread Grin )

For all those wishing to create a deadline!

Please vote promptly in response to this message, so we can have a full process creating this!

Ok to deadline of Apr 29th 23:59 UTC. If Ataxx cash transaction goes smoothly, he/she should have the coins in a few hours tops so Monday is more than enough. Although it worries me a little about the pressure on John to return all coins as quick as possible.

We can populate the form with return addresses so he has an easy time.

I know he already has his own controlled payment tracker, and he will still get his very nice fee.  If he has 24 hours, that seems good. He'll be able to multiply all payments by 99% and send that amount back.

John, please let us know if you feel you need more than 24 hours to return funds, so we can pull back the deadline accordingly.

24 hours should be enough for me.

sorry for so many transactions, but I had to send 0.08314528  more in order to get an even number of chips.
Added, but you still didn't get an even number of chips yet. Use the calc to be sure - remember that you only pay the 0.035 once.

Done.

I'm in for 500 chips. I paid 40.01 BTC (TX ID: d5ac6ffd20f4ad6ecc4ae1975dafdd8e31fe4179ecf264a502509379171ecb5a).

I may throw in another 20 BTC if I can get the funds in time.
Done.

Sent over 2.4335 BTC, hopefully the right amount for 30 chips. My math was likely off somehow (I've been struggling today).

Hopefully will be getting some more if I'm able to get an additional transfer completed in time.

Done

Are you going to ship to Canada?
If yes, I'm in for 40 chips (3.233 BTC)
Yes, as the shipping from operator -> you are going to be determined later. It's gonna be cheaper than Germany -> Canada anyway as the operator is shipping from USA.

Ok, I sent 3.233 BTC for 40 chips.

Hmm.. please check if there's anything wrong here. I'm going through the list, something seems to not tally up atm.

Where have you read about 7% weekly?

And how do you know that none of the content was written by people behind it?  (And even if it was not written, it was perfectly collected together.)The organization is 100% anonymous with bitcoin early developers and great programmers behind it. Satoshi Nakamoto, before he vanished, in the last interview in April said that he had "moved on to other things," how do you know that GBBG and their software is not that other thing.

Do not misunderstand me, I am not suggesting that it is, I am only pointing that no one can know and would not know, who is and who is not behind GBBG project.

I am convinced that no one will fall for this, and therefore a tag is not needed. Please move along guys.

Nobody's put in their shipping details. My assumption is that they won't be requested of us until the order is actually in and the list of recipients is final.
Yes, this is true. OP will request the shipping details later when the preorder is done.
