2261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Type of Gambler Am I? on: June 24, 2022, 10:29:00 PM
Not one category but maybe mixed of Casual Social Gamblers and Conservative Gamblers. I mean you play without your budget but at the same time socialized with other players as well. But if you win, then you have to go home now and don't stay because you know that you are going to lose that winnings of yours. But sometimes I used gambling just to get some stress out of my system, but I know that it is not right though.

2262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: June 24, 2022, 09:57:32 PM
And it is because of this Usyk is the favorite by far, when Joshua lost against Ruiz many people thought he had room for improvement as he was too heavy on the first fight and lost stamina incredibly quickly, then Ruiz made things even easier for Joshua by getting into the ring way heavier than the previous fight which denied his biggest advantage, which was his speed of hands, but against Usyk there is not much Joshua can do, as he cannot outbox him and if he decides to bet everything on his size and punching power then Usyk will dance around him during all the fight.
Yeah, I think in the Ruiz rematch, it was Andy's doing that really case him the fight. He admitted partying and didn't focus on the fight itself as he was on top of the world right now with that huge upset and of course the money.

It might be the case in this fight. if Usyk will not train hard and underestimate AJ, and then Joshua fully focus to get his rematch. It might end up in Joshua avenging his lost and maybe winning by knock out.
This is going to be difficult because it is likely Usyk is aware of what happened between Ruiz and Joshua and he is not going to make the same mistake that cost Ruiz such a clear defeat against Joshua, If Joshua wants to win he will need to go for a quick KO because he simply does not have the technique of Usyk and he will lose if the fight gets to the judges, however this will require being very aggressive from the beginning of the fight and Joshua has never distinguished himself as someone with a lot of stamina, so this is a strategy that he will not be able to employ for long.
Yes, that maybe their first strategy, try to get a quick KO and see if Usyk is focus on this fight and not on the background (war).

But if their strategy didn't work, that will really be difficult as Usyk is a boxer and more technical. While it seems that AJ strength is try to go head first and go bully his opponent. But if that will not work then what plan B did Robert Garcia had in this fight?
2263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2022, 11:51:03 AM

Right now NBA Draft Paolo Banchero was the number 1 pick by the Orlando Magic, while Jabari Smith was the 3rd pick by the Houston Rockets, and right now I feel sad because our full-blown Filipino player Kai Sotto was undrafted, but still, I think he can surely train harder and aim for it next season,

Well, he is not on the top list of players that would be drafted so I'm not surprised. Though we are hopeful that he will get drafted, but we have to accept the reality, yes, there's always a next season, all he has to do is to improved himself and try to be a dominant center, he is still young so there's still plenty of opportunity for him.

Yes Indeed, and I really wish this will not going to be an upset for him but could be a Rekindled fire that will ignite to put the effort to be 1st on the list, right now Bronny James is struggling aswell, there is always a next time for both kids, making a big leap in their rankings because I would like to see a full Blown Filipino Playing in the NBA and the Tandem on Lebron and Bronny well kind of curious what can happen but yeah Kai Sotto still has a ceiling he can fill, I think he needs to increase in speed and gained more muscle for the next draft,

I think there are NBA players who are undrafted but made their way to the NBA, and they even get popular.

Some of the players I know are Luka Doncic and Jeremy Lin, they made their name and now actively Luka already has superstar status.
Therefore Kai Sotto should not loss his hope, the time will come for him as long as he continue to pursue his dreams.
This is so true he has a lot of talent no doubt, maybe the NBA scouts still thinks that he is raw and need more development or maybe he will go undrafted after all. It make a big fuss in the Philippines because he was supposed to be the first full blooded Filipino to join. And there are also other Asians if I'm not mistaken, out is South Korean (if my memory serves me right). Nevertheless, he can still pursue his dreams to become an NBA player.

Click bait for Shiba  Smiley and then doing #Bitcoin, Lol.

Anyhow, as others have said, this could be closer to adoption if we will see a boom of Bitcoin ATM across the globe. Actually the numbers are really increasing but it seems though that people are not aware of it. And then the downside, it's pretty expensive, the fees with you do transaction and this is the only reason why even bitcoin enthusiast are not using it that much.
2265  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC back at 20K. Imagine who sold at 17.7K. on: June 23, 2022, 10:09:38 PM
When the price of bitcoin drops below $ 20k makes me think of cut loss and sells with a position of around $ 18k, but after 3 days the price of back to $ 20k and of course this is a better thing, even though I can sell now at $ 20k but I still lost because the cheapest price I bought was around $ 27800.
Then obviously don't sell, because you will be at a loss because you bought it that high. You just have to wait and have the patience, the price is still above $20k and maybe we will hit $21k in the next 4 hours or so. I know that there are still a lot of selling pressures because there are news about the Fed rate hike and the inflation, but if you don't need the money right now, it's better to keep your BTC in your wallet for sometime or better invest more at this price and wait for the nexxt eventual bull run. For sure you will be glad that you made that decision right now not to sell.
2266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 23, 2022, 09:46:52 PM
Honestly, he should just forget about getting in LHW as it's frankly clear that he's nowhere near getting a win against Bivol and his not that heavy hitter in that weight class considering it's not his comfortable weight.

What do you suggest Canelo to do next? Who should he fight? He has clear his weight division in all organizations. He is feeling tight and bored in his middleweight. He could either fight everyone for the second time (most likely not) or go down to other division? That also could be a problem, as Canelo is rather huge, which means he would have to cut a lot to fit in. Cutting weight = low on stamina = no KO power.
We talked about Benavidez and maybe Charlo in 168 lbs. That might be a good fight for him, 2 young guys very hungry to get recognize. If only Canelo will give them the chance after fighting Golovkin. He once fought at LHW, an old Kovalev, tall but way past his prime. Canelo has problems with him but he was able to get a knock out. But against a young champion, we've seen his weakness, he has no power, and very slow at 175. And he is just hitting the arms of Bivol, taller than him. And if ever he will face the other champion in Beterviev, it might be another disaster for him.
2267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 23, 2022, 12:26:00 PM
^^ Chin doesn't change though, your styles will evolved, but your chin doesn't. Just look at Amir Khan, he has known to be have a china chin and it didn't improved even if he is trained by famed coach Roach back in the days. They say they did train his neck, but we've seen that he still have that chin that when anyone touches he will go down or knock out. So if Magsayo landed on his chin perfectly and with good power, he might go down for good.

Amir Khan probably has the weakest chin among boxers who became champions. That was his weakness so his journey now has probably ended despite the fact that he has not announced his retirement yet. Well, Magsayo has to be quick and has a good strategy to set up Vargas well to see an open looks for a solid punch, I'm looking forward to that.
Yes, an opening that he can take advantage and slip his left hook and let's see if Vargas chin can hold or not. And he admitted that Magsayo has the power so he might be looking for that. But Mark has a decent hand speed as well so it will be very hard to Vargas because he might be overwhelm by Magsayo's volume punching. And if Magsayo smells blood that he will go for it.

Some major moves, Portland acquire Grant from the Pistons.

Quote
The Portland Trail Blazers are acquiring Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant for a protected 2025 first-round pick and additional draft assets, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34132481/detroit-pistons-trading-forward-jerami-grant-portland-trail-blazers-2025-1st-round-pick-sources-say

I think it's a win win for both teams, Blazers are on a rebuilding phase and need someone like Grant to help Dame next season.

While Grant was not given enough time when he was in Detroit because they have been laden with players like him at the same spot.
I still can't forget his contributions when he was still in the Denver Nuggets last bubble. He is like the 3rd option of the team at that time when it comes to defense.
It's a bit unfortunate that we didn't see him play that much when he was still in Detroit.

Now seeing the current roster of Portland, it looks like he will be given more time there. Lillard now has a partner at least offensively though Grant isn't the same as McCollum who is very good offensively. Let's see but the Blazers won this trade I think.

Yeah, Grant is a good catch for Portland, maybe this is the last run that they have with Dame to make into the finals in the West but not sure if their current roster is enough.

They need another one or some role players that can fill the gap when the starters are resting. But there could be more players in the field that they can get before the start of the next season.

Blazers are trying to bring players that will help Dame after trading CJ,

Grant might be a good catch for them if he will contribute the way fans expect him wearing the Blazers uniform, it will
be a win if Grant fits with the way Dame plays the game and with how Blazer's coach design the system, looking to see
if how Dame will take care of his team after being separated with CJ, he's still the main alpha who will be leading the team
on their next quest chasing the title.
I don't think that Dame will adjust as far as his game style, he is the Alpha after all. So with or without CJ, he will score and probably will take the ball dominant. Maybe in the top 5 as far as ppg, but still will base on how him and Grant will blend. A lot has to be made on this team, and as @danherbias07, another wing man will not hurt them. If some good players are available, they should at least get one, not to replace CJ, but it will be good if that wingman can play defense too.
2269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China warns Bitcoin is heading to zero on: June 23, 2022, 06:29:48 AM
No surprises here, China has a lot and hate relationship towards bitcoin and they are hostile on BTC specially when we are in a bull run and I think they do it intentionally not just for the Chinese but for the world to hear their announcement or their official stand on it. But then again, we have seen that it has no effect whatsoever on the market, even if we are in a bearish cycle, we will remain resilience to this kind of attacks, not even China can bring bitcoin to 0, it's too big to fall now.
2270  Other / Archival / Re: Are you ready to see Bitcoin at $10 000? on: June 22, 2022, 11:27:48 PM
I've prepared myself to experience any level of market decline. For now the market have been growing within specific limits. The price have been in hard fluctuation and after such fluctuation there is more of decline than progress in the market. This indicates that the price will crash further.

This major drop can happen as a long term process. However this year we'll experience it, it it is to happen. The falling year we can expect regular growth considering the halving that is being scheduled for the year 2024
Same here, been saying that we are in a bear market already since January so we should expect the worst. Maybe there will be some that don't want to accept if we go this low, but we should prepare ourselves for the worst as this is too early to see the price decline -70% from our all time high last November last year. So there is a possibility that we will see the price going low that $17k and it's possible that a further crash to $10k.
2271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 22, 2022, 10:48:59 PM
Though there are no official odds for this fight yet I think Magsayo is the underdog for the reason that he is not tested yet in this kind of situation. Vargas has successfully defended his title in the Junior Featherweight so this might be the reason bookies will put the latter as the favorite because of experience.
It's weird the bookies doesn't have listed this match, probably this is small fight for them and they didn't include it? Many upcoming events like trilogy GGG vs Canelo have been listed on all bookies while the fight will happen 3 months more, while this one around 2 weeks again.
I think maybe they will wait for a few more days to list the bets for this fight, it would be very strange if it didn't list the current fight, especially the one who will fight is not a boxer who can be underestimated.
Maybe the bookies right now still don't see the huge hype for this fight and I still feel that for the last week or at least a few days before the start of the fight this will be listed.
As per my experience with this non profile fights, usually a day before the fight itself. As compare to GGG or Canelo who have been listed already.

Nevertheless, I don't think that sport bookies are going to missed this one. This is a huge fight for Mexican and Filipino fans and there are a lot of online bettors from those countries. Come back maybe July 8 and for sure this is going to be listed.
2272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: June 22, 2022, 09:37:22 PM
Will it be possible for Garcia to make a massive impact on Joshua at this age and stage of his career because Joshua is 32 years old now. I think it is too late to teach Joshua a new style because the learning process is different when you are a younger boxer. I am sure Joshua is set in his ways and it will be difficult for him to change now.

As for Uysk, he is 35 years old now but recent media clips show him in fantastic shape while he was training. No matter which style Joshua adopts he will be unable to beat Usyk, that is what I have concluded.

We've seen that a puncher will have a slim chance against a technical boxer, like what we've seen recently in Haney vs Kambosos. Maybe we will see the same outcome, Joshua feeling frustrated because he can't get his shots because Usyk is using his feet and his technical skills. And yes, we don't know how Robert Garcia has formulate a plan and then put it into action. Maybe they will go like for Joshua to be very aggressive in the beginning and make Usyk very uncomfortable with pressure and maybe caught Usyk with a big shot.

Rumors of Bradley Beal declining his $36.4 million Wizard's contract option. Money wise he should take the money but if he wants a real shot at the championships then he can reject it and look for better teams. But maybe another decent team will offer him a good amount of money for a longer.
Weird, I can't recall what interview it is, he didn't directly say that he is to sign with Wizards, but he talks all about the money he is getting. So maybe he is looking for more.

I kind of feel that Miami Heat becomes aggressive this free agency. They need another reliable player to partner with Butler. This is super necessary while Butler is still playing at his peak. It made me curious if the Miami Heat is willing to let go on Tyler Herro is better offer is in the table.
I don't think they are going to give up Herro that easy, he is still vital to the team. It's just that he is injured in their series against the Celtics. Perhaps Oladipo or even Duncan Robinson will be a good trade bait though.
2274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 19 on: June 21, 2022, 07:36:22 PM

That was an arranged fight, we can really expect a mismatch for Tagoe and Garcia..

How do you know it was an arranged fight? I mean tagoe was like 32-0 and who's boxer losses his mind to sell his precious career record for a lose?
That was clearly a mismatch, it wasn't arranged, it was cherry picked. People were deceived by Tagoe's record as if he's worthy to beat as an opponent for Garcia. That guy Tagoe might have fought a bunch of mediocre boxers.
Obviously, he has no chance on winning fighting toe to toe against a faster and younger Garcia.

Maybe he finds arranged and cherry-picked synonymous with each other, but each word has its own distinctive meaning as the correct term for that was Oscar cherry-picked Tagoe. We can remember that it was an interim fight for Ryan Garcia to get him back on track after his mental issues and inactivity after he fought Campbell.

Oscar thought that Tagoe can be a big challenge to the kid so that Garcia will be ready to fight Kambosos Jr. but Tagoe was very disappointing to see running in the ring.
I think Oscar knows that Garcia will win in the fight, and maybe by a knock out. However, we may say that it backfired on them as Tagoe didn't fight as expected and was just on defense the whole pick. So it was a cherry pick but it look bad on Garcia as he has been criticized in the media. And now another fight with a fighter that is not on his level, if he won by decision again and was not impressive, for sure Oscar will not going to match him with the current bred of champion.
2275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 21, 2022, 07:09:44 PM
Warriors didn't have one of their most impressive seasons actually. I saw some other teams being more promising than them to achieve the championship. But they still managed to achieve it at the end of the final series. I found Celtics more impressive than them before the final series actually as I really liked their defense especially. Warriors still benefited from their high experience in the recent years and managed to keep Celtics away from the championship one more season. It's been 15 years for Celtics now.
It's because Celtics adjusted on the second half of the regular season, and then they give up Kemba Walker early. Although he has a good season, but when he gets injured and return back, he wasn't the same. So it was a good move for them and then developed into a championship team. Although Tatum was a big let down on the series against the Warriors. Hopefully he gain that needed experience and maybe next year they will still go to the finals.
2276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 21, 2022, 06:44:46 PM
LeBron James is investing in himself to make his own needs so that he can still play exceptional when he is on the court, he can't be playing that well at his age if he's not paying attention to his health. LBJ's age falls in the same bracket as Carmelo Anthony and Howard but LBJ is literally different. Right now, he's more of setting up the table just like CP3 did in Phoenix.
That's right. AFAIK, he's budgeting himself with a whopping $1M for his personal training just to get in shape despite his age not getting younger.

Curry and LeBron now holds the same number of rings, now, I'm interested to see who will be the 1st one to have his 5th ring.
This actually became a meme on the web that Curry is more of the goat rather than Lebron but I think they're worthy of it being called like that.

A staggering $1.5 Million expenditure to be exact annually, and that includes the proper training equipment with its latest technology, personal trainer to keep him versatile especially now that his age is growing day by day and chef to make his meals a healthy one that would surely needed in his body.

Yes, I also saw that meme circulating in the internet recently to make some argument about who's the goat. But for me, Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Stephen Curry is already a goat in their respective generations and there's no need to argue about that as they aren't born in the same year or atleast born with a gap of 3-5 years.
Yeah, they are in a different era, but Lebron and Curry have met in the finals an we know the outcome. And for me, they are in the same league alreay, Curry having his 4th ring and then established their names as dynasty. Jordan though is still the GOAt and no one can touch that, not even Lebron James. He has to win more than Jordan though, just to have some thoughts on others as to who is the greatest and this discussion could go on for years.
2277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful buying alts right now on: June 21, 2022, 06:09:32 PM
It's too early for the bear market to be over, I am saying this because many think we have hit the bottom when ethereum made it to 900$, its not over and you shouldn't be buying coins with all you have, this is a fake out recovery.
So what do you exactly mean? don't buy at this price and wait for another lows to happen this year? In any case, this is still a good buying opportunity for everyone. As for the fake out recovery, it could be, bear market lasts for at least 2 year. But again, you don't have to wait for the floor price. Just buy solid projects and coins, not shitcoin and memes. Those can jump in a bear market but it's going to be an obvious pump and dump.
2278  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $17.5K the low? on: June 21, 2022, 05:40:01 PM
I’d like to think we’ve seen the low. There was no clear spike in volume with a capitulation moment at the low though. Maybe that’s a result of this being an orchestrated attempt to liquidate leveraged players, but if history is any guide I think we still have lower to go before the next leg up. That doesn’t mean this isn’t a good time to buy, but buy slowly with a plan and avoid leverage.
Well then for others they have to wait for the opportunity to come again, because as this point, we've bounce again above the $20k support. So maybe for this year, we have seen the lows. Nevertheless, I also think that next year, we will still have to go lower and then leg up on 2024. So it remains to be seen and congrats to those who are still holding and then buy more when we have $17.5 a couple of days ago. That was the perfect opportunity for this year.
2279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: June 20, 2022, 12:03:06 PM
Looking back at OP's post, the odds for the title, seems kinda interesting. Of course it is very understandable that team with the best odds not getting the title or team with a low odds getting the title can happen. As far as I remember, my first post in this thread was about the odds for Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. I thought they were really not reflecting the real situation. I can see the Kevin Durant effect but it was very unlikely to happen. And of course, the odds for Warriors. If someone bet on them really big and win, that is quite a big success.

GSW is not that strong when they entered the Playoffs but in those games, Thompson, Wiggins, and Looney found their rhythms and went out for some great play to beat every opponent in the series and finally win the NBA championship. Nevertheless, they have the veteran experience and they know exactly how to handle such pressures that's why they easily won against their opponents. Maybe we will see them again if they gonna show such kind of play early this upcoming season and hope no one will gonna hurt before the NBA playoffs.

Add Poole to that list as well, he also had a good playoff run and had average 17 ppg.

Looney had his best game against the Mavericks, because they chooses to play small. While Thompson, game 6 Klay performance against the Memphis on a close out game. So everyone contribute in the GSW run in leading to the finals and then they become the favorite although it seems that in the beginning, we might see an upset. But 3 straight win and then won the trophy for the 4th time.

And for next season they became more better team because there role players are all back coming from injury. Imagine having Wiseman,Kuminga and Moody to their team most provably we can see a more improve Warriors line up next season. Lets do hope that they can keep Wiggins and Poole because these young guys will be the future of GSW especially if they can improve more their gameplays.
I want to see Wiseman, a lot has been expecting on him, so let's see how he will does if he gets the chance to play next season. He and Kuminga could be the next one to carry the torch for the Warriors although they are built very different from their core of Curry, Thompson and Green. We've seen Moody as well, very good in penetrating the line and this kid has good potential as well.

Medvedev will face hurkacz in halle ATP final to be honest i did not expect medvedev to get to the final in a grass court and without losing a single set which is impressive but he faced less tough opponents than hurkacz and to be honest the odds are tempting a 3 odd for hurkacz to win i think its a good chance to make some money.

I must admit that when I read your comment yesterday, I thought that you probably like casino games Wink I was very convinced that Medvedev would be able to handle Hurkacz. However, it turned out exactly what you predicted! Congratulations on a good bet and a nice win if you finally bet on Hurkacz!
Yeah, haven't followed this tournament but I read that Medvedev did confront his coach Gilles Cervara and yelled on him, prompting the later to storm out of the stadium.

But not taking anything from Hurkacz, sending message about the incoming Wimbledon that he will be one of those players that we will have to look at.
