The LA Clippers really need star players right now

They are better last season without their Superstars honestly. Cheesy

But honestly, I don't see the team needing a full revamp or giving up their role players. They have many good role players and need to utilize those.

Like I always said, Role players > Bunch of Superstars

The problem they faced last season is the injuries of their main cast. That plays a big role in their rally.

I admit I'm also getting the same aura with Irving. I mean he's one good player but his ego is much bigger, the man had a signed contract with the Brooklyn Nets which clearly states that he's responsible to play with the team even if there's Covid-19 or not but he choose to neglect that responsibility and left the team in the middle where the team badly needs it because Durant was also injured and Harden was the one playing for the team, luckily he evaded with the team and got shelter with the Sixers.
Harden is just as selfish as Kyrie IMO. Not to mention he's too slow these days. 5 years ago James Harden was a person you wanted, now he's barely a starter. I would like to see Durant consider leaving and join the Lakers. How huge would that be for Lebron?

It's gonna be fun to see Durant with Lebron. But there will be no competition for these two so it's better for Durant to have his own team and not to be a bus rider again, just like when he joined the Warriors. He needs to be an alpha of any team and then bring them a championship. If he can do that, then all the noise will be gone because when the Warriors won, they've proven that they can do it without him. So Durant has been criticized for riding the bus with Curry and the rest. The problem here is Kyrie with the Nets.

Beal, Irving and now Durant Smiley.
If Durant will go to the Lakers, who will be traded from the Lakers going to Brooklyn? Another question is will the Brooklyn Nets want it? Will Durant want to go to the Lakers?

It's possible but realistically, it isn't going to happen. Durant's salary next season is $44M. Who will the Lakers trade just to get him? Maybe they can trade Westbrook but does the Nets want it? I don't think so. There is a high chance IMO that Durant will stay in the Nets alongside Simmons and they either find another superstar to help the 2 of them or they will just get Irving to a 1 year deal again.

Kemba Walker was just traded to the Detroit Pistons. Starting to look like they’re trying to form a legitimate contender. DeAndre Ayton is also rumored to be signing with them this off-season. They could have a playoff team on their hands next year. First time Detroit has been a worthy adversary in a while. Their young guy Kade looks like he’s got a chance for a bright future.  So does their team if they keep grabbing young talent.

There is also this trade involving DeAnthony Melton to Sixers in exchange of lucky charm Danny Green and no. 23 pick.

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2022/06/grizzlies-to-trade-deanthony-melton-to-sixers-for-no-23-pick.html

Not sure if this is a good trade of Memphis though, they already have some good outside shooters, not sure how Danny Green can contribute more. Maybe his experience is needed by Memphis. So let's see who is going to win in this trade. But for now, it looks like this is a bad trade for Memphis.

Probably the experience is what they are looking for in that trade. Danny Green has won a championship already in different teams and has been in the playoffs many times. They won't make that decision if they don't see they'll benefit from that trade, maybe Green's journey with the 76ers is going to be over soon, but the sixers will not forget him as he contributed to the team as well.

By the way, Green's 3 point shooting is not consistent anymore, but he can defend, so that's what make him a versatile player.

But you know what?

Just like this season and the other past one, there have been super teams that were composed of good players, as in superstar players and we thought that they'll share a ring for those particular seasons.

I think it will still depend on the blend of the roster and the attitude of these great players to team up. Because even they're all superstars, there's a likely that they'll be beaten by a good team that don't have much superstars but has a great chemistry.

Most likely teams that have chemistry will likely win, but if you have a superstar player on your team it is a given bonus if he likely has some chemistry when you play for that team, I think if the Brooklyn Nets aiming to trade Kyrie Irving they likely want solid pacing and defense and with that, they are not aiming at relying on Superstars anymore, I really wish that is their mindset if they trade Irving for the 3 players of the LA Clippers,

I honestly have no idea who any of these kids are.  College being shut down in recent years because of covid made me lose all interest in watching or even keeping track of who the players are.  I probably won't even watch the draft as a result.  Usually there's all sorts of highlight reels from these players, but I haven't seen any...  I'm more interested in the trades that will be done around the draft as players I've heard of will undoubtedly be moved in the near future.

The big news of the moment seems to be the Lakers and Hornets closing in on a deal for Russell Westbrook.  I have no idea how that situation will shake out.

We can not have any idea at all if they don't play the real deal basketball inside the NBA and there will likely be players that are undrafted but will have potential in the future, I think this Draft for the NBA surely is like a gamble you will take the player but you don't have any idea what he can do for the team, but for the NBA draft it is a way for the younger generation to reach their dreams in playing inside the NBA,

And for Russell Westbrook, I think the Lakers have had enough of him, he is now inconsistent with his plays and just targeting to look good inside the court, and I think there is no need for a superstar to win a final, it will be as a team that will conquer it all,

Yes, that's how blessed the Warriors are as they have a kind and a good-hearted coach and a strict coach as well to make his team straighten up. I mean, anyone who helps the team surely deserves the credit and respect as they are also a vital reason on why the Warriors got the position they had now like the team's doctor which is the 1st person that Klay run into the moment they won the championship.

WOW! I never notice that I think Klay Thompson is very grateful for what happened to him he surely recovers fast and he surely owes them a thank you, they deserve it, and he must be grateful to them,

Right now NBA Draft Paolo Banchero was the number 1 pick by the Orlando Magic, while Jabari Smith was the 3rd pick by the Houston Rockets, and right now I feel sad because our full-blown Filipino player Kai Sotto was undrafted, but still, I think he can surely train harder and aim for it next season,

Well, he is not on the top list of players that would be drafted so I'm not surprised. Though we are hopeful that he will get drafted, but we have to accept the reality, yes, there's always a next season, all he has to do is to improved himself and try to be a dominant center, he is still young so there's still plenty of opportunity for him.

Thanks Og for the update.

Knicks receive:

2025 first-round pick via Milwaukee (protected 1-4)
Pistons receive:

No. 13 pick (Jalen Duren)
Kemba Walker
After receiving Duren they traded him again along with Kemba for a first-round pick. It's a long three-way deal.
Quote
After all the wheeling and dealing, the Knicks closed the night with three future first-round picks and some extra cap space. It's no secret that they're going to use that money to try and sign Jalen Brunson in free agency. They recently hired his dad as an assistant coach, and now have enough cap space to make a competitive offer. There's no guarantee that they get him, but they have a much better chance now than before the draft.
It looks like Jalen Brunson's performance with the Mavericks without Luka made some scouts change their perspective about him. It will be a great addition for the Knicks if ever they will use that remaining cap space to take him in.
But, will the Mavs have more to offer to make him stay? They just became a championship-caliber and with the Christian Wood trade in their roster, they became more interesting.

Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

It looks like Jalen Brunson's performance with the Mavericks without Luka made some scouts change their perspective about him. It will be a great addition for the Knicks if ever they will use that remaining cap space to take him in.
But, will the Mavs have more to offer to make him stay? They just became a championship-caliber and with the Christian Wood trade in their roster, they became more interesting.
The Knicks are trying to chase a player who can carry the team but they traded all of their picks including Walker for future draft picks. They are chasing Brunson but the question is will the Mavericks let him go knowing that he, Luka and Wood can be a good trio for the team?

Brunson has been the second option of the team offensively and when Luka is injured, he is the primary scorer and he played very well. He is very good at floater and side 3pt shots. For me, he will be more productive if he is in the Knicks but if he will chase for the ring, the chances is higher with the Mavericks. They went to the Conf. Finals and stunned the Suns and with the addition of Wood, they will be stronger now and who knows they might be a championship caliber team.

Lets see where will Brunson land because it will be interesting. Will Spike Lee's decision be a success now or it will be a bust.

Any team on your radar that might take John Wall? He recently exercised his $47.4 million player option for next season. Rockets are reportedly looking for a trade or a buyout agreement if no trade happens. Another Wall - Westbrook swap is the only possible option that I'm reading because their salaries are almost identical.

Yes Indeed, and I really wish this will not going to be an upset for him but could be a Rekindled fire that will ignite to put the effort to be 1st on the list, right now Bronny James is struggling aswell, there is always a next time for both kids, making a big leap in their rankings because I would like to see a full Blown Filipino Playing in the NBA and the Tandem on Lebron and Bronny well kind of curious what can happen but yeah Kai Sotto still has a ceiling he can fill, I think he needs to increase in speed and gained more muscle for the next draft,

In my opinion, the Mavericks will not do a trade like that, but if they are needing money they can squish something good for the New York Knicks but pretty much it is an impossible trade for me, Brunson has proven his worth and the Dallas mavericks will not let a chance just to make a wrong decision, I really think every team rethink 1st what happens in the finals Boston Celtics is a full bloom defensive team, the Golden State Warriors is an Offensive team with a coordinated defense, I think the other teams that haven't made to the finals should learn the importance of defense more on offense,

I see that it hasn't been discussed much but I think that Dallas did a really important job by adding Christian Wood to their roster. Dallas didn't give anything except rubbish to Houston while getting Wood. Even if the player doesn't meet the expectations it wouldn't be a big loss for Dallas. Wood would relieve Dallas about offense a lot. But when it comes to defense, I think that he really needs to improve himself this season. It isn't possible for him to make his presence felt in the playoffs with his current condition.

I think it was discussed, and it's a win-win for both. Wood has a good form shooting from outside, so mostly likely it will be included in his role there, Luka driving and kicking the ball for him. He plays good defense too and averaging at least 1 block per game.

For the Rockets, they still have a lot of young guys there, and it means that Sengun a 20 year old kid will be their starting center now.

Rockets are probably still gonna need a center.  I think they want sentences to play more the power forward role.  Don't be surprised if they go center at some point in the draft or in free agency make a run at someone like Mitchell robinson.

Sengun will be their center so yeah, they have one. They did get Jabari Smith as their number 3 pick in the recent draft. And I think this is a good choice, Jalen Green + Jabari Smith will be awesome and then we have Sengun in the middle. It might not be a complete line up, but they are all young and talented and maybe can pull some surprises next season.

I can see that, Harden is not as strong and fast before due to the injury he suffered, and also his style does not work effectively anymore as before he can easily fish for a foul but with the new rules added in the NBA, his style that he would initiate to get fouled is not being called anymore.

I would like to see Durant consider leaving and join the Lakers. How huge would that be for Lebron?
This is a big one, but the question is, is Durant willing to join Lebron?

Is he still part of the Adelaide 36ers?

He got popular in this league despite playing limited minutes only, if he is not part anymore then I think he should explore another league that would challenge him and helps him improve as a player. Kai will certainly get signed, but he has to choose a the toughest league for his chance in the NBA to grow.

This is so true he has a lot of talent no doubt, maybe the NBA scouts still thinks that he is raw and need more development or maybe he will go undrafted after all. It make a big fuss in the Philippines because he was supposed to be the first full blooded Filipino to join. And there are also other Asians if I'm not mistaken, out is South Korean (if my memory serves me right). Nevertheless, he can still pursue his dreams to become an NBA player.

I think his contract ends already on Adelaide 36ers. Also he's agent already stated that they will explore if they will play back on Australia or in Europe so lets see what update will come also maybe its good for him to test the waters on NBA summer league if he will got an invitation because from there he might be lucky to get a 2 way contract on some teams in NBA.
