1301  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 14, 2023, 12:03:50 PM
Now I know the reason why it has increased in price. That's a lot, and you could've made money when it was down. That's the hard part of trading and knowing when to buy and sell. You will never know what could happen in the short term, especially in the long run. Who would've expected that it would go down and immediately rise again? That's just the volatility that we are experiencing.

There is a lot of money in the market, and imagine that $1bn is just a drop, like what?? That's a lot in some countries.
Isn't it about CZ though? But I think it's not, it's about this statement:

https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/pressreleases/monetary20230312b.htm

In any case though, the market is very lively, the last time I check the price is about to hit $25k, and hopefully we can stay on that path because of the many big news that's coming our way. $25k is the biggest resistance, although we touch it already, but it's hard to maintain that price level.
1302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 14, 2023, 11:05:34 AM
Warriors won!
Steph and Klay were hot in the 1st half making a 25-point lead. But the Suns never gave up and pursued a close battle, they did and even got close to a 3-point lead. But the early foul trouble and bonus for the Warriors at 6 minutes left in the 4th are what made the difference, then there's Jordan Poole who suddenly got hot.
Did they shake hands after the game? I didn't see it. Seems like even Damion Lee is creating some trouble against Jamychal Green in garbage time.

Great to hear that the Warriors are back! They seem to be on a roll lately, with two consecutive wins against tough opponents in the NBA, the Bucks and the Suns. It's always fun to watch Thompson shoot his normal, and he seems to be more comfortable now in the 3 point line. He has been consistent lately with his shooting, which is great news for the Warriors.

As for the Suns, it's possible that they may need Durant in order to win against the Warriors. If Durant is ruled out for the rest of the season, it could potentially affect the Suns' chances of winning. It'll be interesting to see how things play out in the coming games, I hope the Warriors winning streak will continue especially on the road where they are weak.

Great win for the Warriors, from the beginning of the game they show their supremacy and yes, Klay is really putting numbers
he's a big contributor and a silent killer in each game.
It's really hard to stop the Warriors when one of the Splash brothers are shooting like that. And they build a good lead and that was enough. Although the Suns make a huge comeback in the 3rd, wasn't enough as it was Poole's turn to wax hot in that quarter.

In terms of KD, Suns do need him. The number that he can provide is something that will increase the chance of them in winning games.

Moving forward, still have games before the playoffs.
Yes, they need KD because that's why they wanted him, unfortunate things happen. Nevertheless, the Suns is assured of a playoff spot already, so it's going to be very hard in the series if they don't have KD on the floor.
1303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of my big losses (Gamble Responsibly) on: March 14, 2023, 10:06:47 AM
Please only gamble what you can afford to lose and if you don't have discipline or control you shouldn't be gambling. I can't stress that enough.
Yeah, I think this should be universal for everyone, we should only gamble money that we can afford to lose otherwise you will be on a total downward spiral if you continue to gamble money that is allotted to other things that is more important to you.

And with that, it takes a lot of mental discipline and self control as you have said, and it's not going to be easy whether you are a beginner gambling or more experience one as it will just kick anytime and then you have to fight that demon out within yourself.
1304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gamble continuously because have surrendered to the situation on: March 14, 2023, 09:22:10 AM
Obviously, this fellow is already addicted, because he doesn't care anymore about the money he got from his parents or even his own assets. Maybe if he still has some families around that can step up and help him out, it will be really good for him.

But if there are no external influence for him to stop, then it's going to be very difficult for him and we can only wish him the best at this point. We don't want to see him wasting him life for gambling.
1305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 11, 2023, 12:28:11 AM
Did watch the Warriors-Grizzlies game except for the final minutes of the game. Grizzlies won by 21 points.
I'm kind of disappointing not only because of how awful the defense of the Warriors are, but how they can't take the lead after having huge runs. Grizzlies got a 20 point lead at the 1st quarter then the Warriors made a run to put the deficit to single digits in the 2nd quarter. After than, Grizzlies will make another run again putting the lead to double digits, and then Warriors will come back again with their own. They didn't even took the lead the whole game I think.

Warriors had too many turnovers and simple mistakes in first half. Grizzlies made a lot of 3's and controlled the lead. Even without Morant, Grizzlies is a stacked team. Tyus Jones is playing like they don't need Morant at all. With Brooks, Jackson and Bane they are a complete team. They probably hold on to second or third place in the West. After the loss of Durant I believe Suns can't catch them.
And probably it was a revenge time for the Memphis Grizzlies last night. They were treated with disrespect when they were beaten by the Warriors at home and there were some words after that.

So I believed that they really pushed themselves against the defending champ here.

Yes, with KD out, Grizzlies could be safe in 3rd place and make the playoffs for this year. But it's better if they will have Morant, but there's not time table for his return.
1306  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will (probably) go lower. on: March 10, 2023, 07:37:04 PM
[..snip..]
- Biden proposing a 30% tax of electricity of bitcoin mining companies in a desire to stop corporate mining of bitcoin in the US

That's a lot of negative things and it all happened at once. Those are what bought Bitcoin crashing down below $20k. Silvergate was the main thing, though all these other things happening in the past couple days just compounded the Silvergate news to drop the market further. Once we're onto the next news cycle and Silvergate collapsing is old news Bitcoin should recover unless some of these other things become more serious.
Most likely this is the best explanation for the sudden plunge of the price, it's a direct attack by the US government to bitcoin per se, that is a huge tax implications for bitcoin miners and it doesn't sit well with us.

Silvergate news was overshadowed already, and if I'm not mistaken, once the Silvergate news surfaces, it's not that huge drop, as we keep above $22k. But the new proposal from Biden government was the nail in the couple for us in the last 24 hours.
1307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 10, 2023, 01:26:56 PM
The Suns have the liberty to give Durant more rest since they are in the top 4 in the Western Conference, which means their playoff spot is relatively secure at the moment. In fact, the Suns only struggled when Booker was injured and out for a while. Now that he is back, they will be able to continue on their winning path while Durant waits to deliver big-time come playoffs.
I think they were hoping to get a good flow going.  Everyone knows they were gonna male it in it was merely how fluid will the team be if Durant jumps in kid playoffs.  Durant just can't stay on the floor.  Generational talent but does no good being the best guy who can't suit up.  Shame was looking forward to seeing them all together.  Just got a.little taste and poof, gone.

Well, I absolutely agree. He is going to be a menace for any opponent if he does play in the playoffs. But of course, he will have to stay healthy first.

snip
I think that the Sun will do. They traded a lot of assets for him, so they have to make sure that he will recover fast and stay healthy for the playoffs. That is the time that he matters the most. The Suns can survive the regular season and maintain their rank. They still have Booker, Ayton and CP3 in the lineup. It should not be too hard to maintain a good rank with the caliber of the players they still have.

You absolutely nailed it. Even without Kevin Durant, the Suns are not a bad team. Yes, they will be missing out on some important power. Missing Kevin Durant is not ideal for any team. But I think the suns do have the power to handle that situation. And if they can handle the situation without Kevin Durant, they will be a lot more confident when Kevin Durant does come back from the injury.
Yeah, but some of the players they move is part of their roster that make their run and even reach the finals a couple of years ago. And since they are all gone because they chase Durant, it will be a very Suns now.

Ayton, CP3 and Booker is good, but not sure if they can carry the them.

West is very different now, Booker will have to double his effort.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 10, 2023, 12:21:46 PM
Yes, it could be, but what if both fighters have winning streak as well? Then where we will base out betting? So it's better to look at the age difference or who is it's prime or not. Although it can be negated, but at least this factor should be taken into consideration.

That is the struggle for us bettors because there is no fight that is already guaranteed, we are just basing on their chances and some other factors that we should take into consideration that could somehow play an important role to their upcoming fight. However, in this case, both of them came out from a win but with a different streaks and that could mean something.

And if that doesn't help, then perhaps we could somehow compare their recent performances from their previous fights as we could find something that could help us to figure things out.
The credentials of the two boxers that we are able to evaluate are the only factors that determine our odds of winning. The age of Loma is a factor and the Ortiz match demonstrated this. To his credit, Haney has performed remarkably twice on Kambosos. Additionally, Ortiz is not at the level of Kambosos. Anyhow, we might also think that the ring rust made it difficult for Loma to overcome the strategy of Ortiz. Therefore, our goal is to determine whether Loma will perform better than in his previous match with Ortiz. In addition to this match with Haney, if Loma will feature eighty percent, the more the better of his prime, It makes this an intriguing event.
That's the thing - we're comparing these two based on their last opponents. However, that's not a good way to measure who is better because Loma is experienced and is not a popular boxer for no reason. While Haney is one of the hottest boxers in his generation, he hasn't faced someone as smart and clever as Loma. I don't want to say something bad about Haney as I'm too biased - I like Loma to win, so that makes me biased.

I understand you mate Cheesy Same here, I'm also rooting for Loma to win the fight because I still have some hopes left in him that his career is not yet finished and what we saw in his last fight was just the version of Loma who was still adjusting to his rhythm but we can see that he's still very observant and did not take any risky steps that could give Ortiz some advantage. Hence, why the outcome of that fight was a unanimous as all judges voted for him.

But Haney though, he might not have the same experience and IQ like Loma does but he is not an easy boxer to defeat as well. Even if I'm rooting for Loma, I'm still expecting that Loma might have some struggle because of Haney.
I guess some of us are rooting for Loma to win, I think we still believed that even at his so called poor performance the last time and he is already old and could be in the stage wherein he might be entering the phase of not able to pull the trigger anymore.

But let's hope that it's not the case for Loma.

He is still great and this could be his biggest fight and could determine his legacy.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 10, 2023, 12:08:56 PM
Nothing is unusual here, that's what the major bodies have been doing for decades now. And it's a win-win for them, so it just make sense.

For those who are not aware, they take it as a big deal lol. Should be nothing unusual in the first place.

Aside from that, if that's not the usual procedure, I don't see anyone from 122 that can be a good match for Inoue.

Moving forward, if those critics thinks that Inoue is having a shortcut then they don't trust Fulton to beat the so-called Japanese monster.
And maybe the boxing bodies wanted to create more stir in this division, and so granting Inoue to face their champion Fulton. The thing is that Fulton is more willing to test Inoue in this new weight classes.

I haven't follow this division though, but it seems that Fulton has face the best and so he has to test himself once again by fighting the bantamweight champion. The advantage might be in Fulton since he is the natural 122 lbs. But Inoue though could also be very comfortable at that weight class.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if: USDT is unpegging and collapsing in the next days - Possible strategies on: March 09, 2023, 09:01:58 PM
Well it's hard to answer this hypothetical question, but

- their could be banks behind that will suffer the most, maybe like the Silvergate scenario, collapsing and filing for bankruptcy.
- then perhaps get out of the USDT, move it to some other crypto, at least the bleeding will stop on your end
- I don't understand what you mean by behavior, but it's obvious that when there is a panic, you will have to sell to stop the bleeding of our portfolio

Nevertheless this scenario might not happen though, not defending Tether or USDT, but they have been in the market for so long that perhaps they have toom much reserves to cover the possible collapse.
1311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might reach $30,000 in the first half of 2023 and $50,000 in the second on: March 09, 2023, 08:40:52 PM
I see this as very possible, as I referenced here based on 2019 fractal and rebound to 0.618 fib retracement level, which is at $48.5K for reference sake.

Many see $30K as a realistic target for the year, many less see $50K as possible, but if $30K is broken to the upside then for me this would be the next target due to lack of resistance to the upside.

It's also true, based on the article, that it might take longer to get to $100K levels than simply a 2025 bull market. It may be a slow grind to the upside from that point on.
Reaching or crossing $30k for now seems to be a pretty difficult target for Bitcoin, and if it does cross it before the end of the first quarter, than we will definitely see some interesting pumps after that as there will be a lot of buying pressure from that point from people suffering from FOMO.

$50k could only be possible if Bitcoin can maintain the price if it goes beyond $30k as a start, and even before $30k, we shouldn't forget that $25k has proven to be a strong resistance since last month.
Short term, it might be hard to see it, I really thought that we will have a good month, but it seems the trend will continue as we are faltering and now in the $20k level.

And this is going to be very difficult to us, $20k should be our strong support, but who knows, there are some negative news in the scene right now and then investors are just selling bitcoin because of that. So hopefully it will stop right now, and then slowly regain back to at least $24k. But getting to $30k, could be very hard.
1312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 09, 2023, 08:21:18 PM
For hardcore fans of WWE, then maybe they will have to think about betting in this so called "fights" even if it is scripted. But for pure fans of any combat sports, I don't know, maybe majority of them are not going to bet on it as we all know that this is just like for entertainment and I don't think we can call it sports because of that.

So for me, I wouldn't put my money on the line, whatever they are going to said about the outcome being not leak by some body.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A remark on casino bonuses on: March 09, 2023, 04:14:46 AM
Enticing promo banners but tncs that make these promos largely useless and these tncs aren't obvious from looking at banners. Upon click they redirect you to login/registration page whereas I feel click on to banner should redirect user to that particular promo's tnc.
I do agree that it is somewhat very tricky, and if you are going to observe it, that's how everyone is doing not just in crypto industries. Their promotion is geared on new set of players or those who wants to try it because their promotion is very attractive.

I'm not saying that they are doing it to mislead, but from what I observed, this seems to be the norm for any sector and business.

So it's  very important to read the T&C very closely before joining their promotions.
1314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 09, 2023, 12:37:56 AM
Just some update regarding Ja Morant's situation. The latest tells that he's not going to be charged as there's a lack of evidence as to what's filed against him. It's said that he's still out for quite a few games which were said in the article and in the quote.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will be away from the team for at least four more games, the team said on Wednesday, shortly after police announced that he will not face charges in Colorado related to the livestreamed video is which he appeared to be displaying a gun in a strip club.

“Ja Morant will continue to remain away from the team for at least the next four games,” the team said with no further comment.
He is lucky that Denver is not going to charge him in this case, maybe it's because he is a "prominent basketball player" as per their report? nobody knows. It might be the question on how Ja got the firearms in the first place.

But he has to missed 4 more games though as the NBA is still not yet concluded their investigations.

Memphis though is in a losing streak and maybe the team is also affected by this news because it's their leader under fire right now.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think that there will be a new technology to recover lost of Bitcoin on: March 08, 2023, 06:48:35 PM
A lot of people posting that they successfully recover their funds for along time but how about those who have lost their Bitcoin? Is it possible in the future that there will be a technology that is specialized in recovering lost in just a matter of minutes or an hour? But on the other side Bitcoin holder are in trouble too as their funds might also be vulnerable and be compromise.
Please more answer to do this please.
Not sure what you mean that there are people successfully recover their funds, because we all know that once you lost your Bitcoin it's hard to recover. At least you found your lost private key or mnemonic phrase then you can get it back. But let's say there is one key phrase, it might be very hard even with a help of those supposedly individuals or companies and it could be scam after all. So just be careful though. For those long term holders, maybe they protected their bitcoin and knows how to practice security hygiene and keep their private key safe.
1316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Value till 2033? on: March 08, 2023, 06:30:36 PM
@seoincorporation , @laurenB7742
That is to say, the price can't be predicted based on what it will actually be in the next few years, no matter what degree one has in reading and predicting prices. It's just better for us to hold on and have faith rather than think about what the price will turn out to be in 10 years.

No one knows exactly about the future of bitcoin, it's all just predictions, and so-called predictions will be right or wrong. As an investor in bitcoin, we need to trust in this asset, because once its price goes up, we can reap a lot of benefits from it. But investing beyond profits will always contain risks, so only invest with money that you can lose, never borrow or use daily living money to invest. Never put all your eggs in one basket, especially with risky investments like cryptocurrencies.
Yes, everything is just base on pure speculation, although we used the past data to extrapolate what price it could get in the future but ti's not very accurate as we all know how bitcoin is very volatile.

And with that, everyone is free to give our prediction, whether it's a hit or miss, at least we did our bests to see what will be the future price. But we can just hold on what event alone, the block halving that is the catalyst for the price to continue to grow every 4 years, just saying.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 08, 2023, 05:56:28 PM
That's right, Inoue is not your ordinary boxer who's is easy to predict and evident to see his limits. Currently, there's no boxer that managed to unlock Inoue's weakness and Donaire was the only boxer who actually gave him a good toe-to-toe fight but even that fight wasn't enough to show his weakness and up until now, it's still a mystery and it will be an expensive move by any boxer just to know what is it.

For weakness of Inoue to unfold, he just needs to fight a better boxer than he is.  He may be dominated the bantamweight division, but I do not think that he will do the same in the super bantamweight.  Super Bantamweight is a different division and there are several known boxers that can possibly defeat Inoue in this division.  The boxer in this division have heavier punches and more resistance to blows or punches, and since Inoue is taking a shortcut, he probably doesn't know the extent of the punching power of this division.

I very much agree, however, this is what the sport of boxing is supposed to be. The best boxers should challenge the other best boxers in another weight division or in their present weight division. This will bring the sport forward again and not need to become a comedy show to get more attention similar to Jake Paul. Fulton vs. Inoue, Tank vs. King Ry and Haney vs. Lomanchenko are good fights for the fans and the sport.
And it's it ironic though that we are seeing this money fights in the below weight class? I mean the 147 lbs is what we know as the best, but we haven't seen Crawford and Spence.

But even in the 140 lbs, we have seen Josh Taylor unify the belts and then 135 as you have said, Tank vs Ryan Garcia, and then we have Haney vs Loma. And as if this lower division are mocking the supposedly best weight class because it now becomes a joke, Spence vs Thurman fighting at 154 lbs and with no belts on the line.

The welterweight and super-welterweight is a known division that is full of vicious boxers all over the world but now, that's not the case anymore because Spence Jr. and Al Haymon is giving the division a bad reputation because they are taking a full advantage of their influence towards the governing bodies to make a mandatory fight without risking the belts of the champion.

That is why the avid fans are now taking more attention from the lower weight class because aside from its exciting fights that is produced every couple of months, we know that the fights taking place at the mentioned division is fair and square, so different from the upper weight class these days.
It could be, but historically, this division is like the primetime, then followed by the Heavyweight. So it's really hard to see it becoming just another division now just because a powerful entity is controlling it. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather was made though, before it was too late and no longer in their prime. Why not they can do it with Crawford and Spence.

Anyhow, May it is, Fulton will be ready by that time, but it could be very different as it's hard to get a sparring partner similar to Inoue and probably the most important is the power of Naoya. Because it's not going to be replicated by any training partner in the gym.
1318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 08, 2023, 05:37:24 PM
It's going to be very difficult to retire though it he win this fight. Obviously, he will have to defend it, otherwise if he retire and vacant again, then it's a waste of time for him to fight. He has been blessed to have another shot at the belt and become the champion again. So I doubt that he will waste this kind of opportunity.

If he lost, then it's up to him and his camp to re-assess if he wants to continue or not. Specially in the circumstances like he is brutally knockout again or he was dominated in this fight.
It depends on the goals of Donaire at the time, if he just wants to prove that he still can be a champion despite his age, if he can get the win then retiring is not a bad option, very few people retire at the top of their sport and being able to walk away as a champion is one of dreams of many athletes, so it would not be a bad way to go, however to keep fighting professionally is not a bad option either, because as a champion Donaire should be able to earn even more money, especially if he targets other champions as well.
I think that's one of his goals to achieved here, to become another bantamweight world champion. Yes, it's not a bad option to retire if he wins this one, however, I'm not seeing him doing it. Donaire could be one of those legendary boxers that what to push their body  as long as they can.

We can't compare him to the likes of let's say Amir Khan, who really quit because he doesn't have the fire anymore. Donaire is different if we see how his career progresses. He still loves the challenges, and if he wins here, it will just push him mentally to fight again and defend that belt.
1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 08, 2023, 05:19:48 PM
That was not what I predicted in the Knicks game. Not amazing at all.
~
I guess we will just see if they can bounce back from it.
They even defeated Boston Celtics twice on that 9 game winning streak, but guess what... their streak is over thanks to the... Charlotte Hornets?

I mean who in the hell expected that the win streak of the Knicks will be snapped by some bottom teams right now. It will be understandable if top teams did that like the Bucks or the Nuggets, but to a bottom team like the Hornets? Did somebody bet on the Hornets on this game. They will bounce back from this one. They are performing better after the trade deadline. I just hope that Brunson will come back soon.

Speaking of coming back, I wonder how the Grizzlies will come back after the series of events that happened with the team.

First is the Ja Morant issue in his social media account. Second is Brandon Clarke suffering a season-ending injury. I wonder how will Coach Taylor Jenkins make an adjustment with his team. Morant doesn't have a timetable right now on when he will return. How will the "Dynasty" team play without their captain? Right now, the Grizzlies are already 3rd in the Western Conference, currently tied with the Kings who is now in the 2nd spot. We are nearing to the end of the regular season. I'm exciting on how the Grizzlies will adjust with what's happening with them.
I doubt that the Grizzlies can make a comeback now, gonna be difficult for them without Ja, Brooks and Desmond Bane cannot do it alone, specially in road games, what turn of events for them for talking about a supposedly Dynasty when they are not winning and they might fall from their 3rd position as the Suns might replace them.

Just too bad how the players turn out to be, Clarke season injury, gonna be hard for him to make a comeback too although there are players like KD nd Klay Thompson who suffered the same.
1320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 07, 2023, 08:19:13 PM
I guess their camp already know Donaire's current situation and probably already acknowledge that if Donaire will not be successful versus Santiago, then a retirement will be his only option. You know, that is just sad because it's not a good exit for him but it is what it is. Well, in the positive side, Donaire's chances are greater than decent because this Santiago is not really a threat.

If only Jason Moloney didn't back out of the supposed mandatory fight against Nonito Donaire for the vacant WBC Bantamweight title, he is the best opponent for Donaire to see if the 40 years old former champion can still dominate the bantamweight division now that Inoue is out of the list.

If Santiago will able to pull an upset against Donaire, then Donaire has no chance to beat other bantamweights.

Although I'm not looking at that upset possibility since in the very first place, Santiago was just being considered as the contender for the WBC Bantamweight title because boxers above him in rankings already have their respective fight schedule.

now that magsayo lost his recent fight, it is up to donaire to raise the flag of the PH again. this will be a good retirement reward if in case he will end up winning this fight. time to call it a day if he will be successful on this one. don't chase anymore belts as he is not getting any younger. enjoy the retirement and if he doesn't want to get out of this sports, he can be a coach to the younger filipino boxers.
It's going to be very difficult to retire though it he win this fight. Obviously, he will have to defend it, otherwise if he retire and vacant again, then it's a waste of time for him to fight.
