2261  Economy / Economics / Re: Ray Dalio: What I Think of Bitcoin on: January 29, 2021, 08:51:00 AM
Interesting.
Let the investor not forget the important things that make Bitcoin valuable and attractive to people who understand it. It can't be considered real Bitcoin anymore if it stops being Well Decentralized (Satoshi seems to think it's "Completely Decentralized" ), Very Transparent , Immutable, Censorship Resistant, Permissionless/Trustless, Privacy-friendly/Anonymity-friendly, Secure, Deflationary, Consensus-based, etc,
I think the wealth it produces should come mainly from these important ideals so that they're encouraged more than the "contrary ideals"(fiat-like ideals such as centralization, poor transparency, darkness, privacy violations, inflation, censorship etc..)
2262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: January 29, 2021, 08:19:10 AM
Now let's look at some quote taken from google :
Quote
There is a lot of gambling in Thailand. An estimated 70 percent of adults gamble regularly, and the total value added involved is huge—possibly over 200 billion baht a year. With some small exceptions, all of this gambling activity is illegal.
-snip
70 percent of thai adults?  Shocked Wow that's a really high rate! What's your exact source for those figures please?
It implies that most of thaï women are regular gamblers too. That's crazy!
I doubt it's up that percentage. Even the safe bettors who bet regularly would not be upto that percentage atall, not to talk of 70% of the country's adult population engage in very risk bettings. It's possible that number of people who bet occasionally in the country is up to that percentage though. Calling 70% of the adults gamblers (gamblers in betting) is likely an exaggeration

2263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Joseph Stahura avoids jail for all the campaign funds he used for gambling. on: January 29, 2021, 07:59:58 AM
I think it is not fair spending 255.000 Us dollar public funds and get away with one year home probation and a 7500 Us dollar fine.It looks like the judge didn’t sentence him to jail because of his status as mayor. If the same judge would have been judging the same identical case with a normal person I am sure he would have asked a few years behind the bars.

I wondered if the fund is already his. Gambling(or taking big financial risk in this case) with public funds or funds not owned by the gambler isn't something that should be taken lightly. I would judge things differently and probably be a bit considerate if the risk affects him alone.
2264  Other / Off-topic / Re: World as one big gigant titanic on: January 27, 2021, 05:54:40 PM

Lets abandone ship already!

Its not the world that's going to sink, its the economy. Because this had happened several times already in the past where recession had been predicted to happen. The blockchain however is something new, I guess governments aren't going to give same solution to the same old problem so that history will not keep repeating.

Things I used to comfort myself with back then when big disasters like earthquakes hit somewhere around the world.
Anyway, I do not really agree with Op opinion on the future... but we need to understand the fact that our world is deteorating, evil will increase, humans will become more desperate/evil, false savior will arise, he will deceive lots of people with false miracles, false messiah & people he rule over will try to fight the Real MESSIAH but will be destroyed effortlessly.
The World will later be renewed, paradise restored, the chosen inherit it etc

2265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How This Digital Artist Made $370,000 in Crypto on Their 18th Birthday on: January 27, 2021, 04:59:42 PM
More interested to know why the art work is worth that much. Does it really deserve the price? What's is in the art that made buyers willing to pay that much?
Doesn't make sense yet until it makes sense.
2266  Other / Off-topic / Re: Interesting way to resist sexual lust on: January 27, 2021, 10:22:31 AM
Don't look into their eyes.. *especially women eyes. Pretty strange ladies (or their images/videos) deliberately staring at you are usually the "spirit of lust" or someone possessed by the spirit. They stare at you to overpower you with lust.
I was revealed this in my early days of fighting lust. I obeyed "the instruction" without questioning (nothing wrong with questioning though... just that i 100% trust the source of the revelation.)

I think thats gonna be hard 😅 I like looking at my partners eyes every single time. Any other options?

As long as you won't be triggered to commit sexual sin with your partner before marriage.
I think it's Better to be sure of marrying your partner before considering that.
Imagine what happens to the body when both partner steadily stare into the eyes of each other in "intensed way"

From my experience, once you are freed from sexual sins, you think more clearly, and there are other wonderful benefits
2267  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am being mercilessly scammed by somone from the bitcoin world on: January 27, 2021, 09:55:35 AM
Did you fall victim to the email? Just wondering, considering your topic says you are being scammed.

The message looks suspicious...
Probably written that way to get their victims to be desperate, make them to pay certain amount or send something valuable or exploit them in other ways in exchange for the "transferred money", and then the victims get scammed once they obey and pay.

I would investigate how they got my email address in the first place, as I don't expose my main address that much.
2268  Economy / Economics / Re: How long will it take banks to phase out physical cash completely? on: January 27, 2021, 09:27:07 AM
I don't think cash can be phased out. Coz the elderly need them and cash is the most stable money in the real world. What if electricity breaks down?

From my little understanding, seems they want to phase out physical currency to be able to properly monitor how people use their money, to be able to have more control over the financial system, for the sake of hygiene etc...
Well, I don't believe they can phase out physical currency if they really understand what currency is.
I guess they could impose this in places where people/things are sufficiently controlled by them (or an entity).
2269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: January 27, 2021, 09:05:12 AM
I guess they were shocked by the prizes than their bodies could handle.
My body sometimes get overwhelmed in the past by shocking news that I avoid things that will shock me, or I learned not to get attached to things for the sake of my body.
Nothing surprises too much these days. And my body tend to handle shock much better than before. Health is very important (both physical and spiritual health)

✳ It's also very Important that people know how to break shocking news to others in ways they can cope with
2270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Joseph Stahura avoids jail for all the campaign funds he used for gambling. on: January 27, 2021, 08:40:12 AM
I think you judge the case based on the level of risk he exposed himself and others to with the money. Almost everyone (apart from few people) expose his/herself to big risk with the kind of things he/she spends money on. The main problem is if it's habitual and intentionally. Those who do it intentionally or habitually will likely receive more "punishment" in just society(and helped).  Those who do it unintentionally and occasionally(or even habitually) could be given light "punishment" and helped too.

I believe it's good for everyone to be responsible adults so that they don't have too much problems in life, and others don't get "infected" and start being reckless.

2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for a Billion max supply capped altcoin to reach $100? on: January 26, 2021, 05:43:29 PM
I believe it's possible if you could regulate the  supply to keep the coin scarce or reduce the supply while its demand is high.
If it is a very useful coin with high demand, and the community for example locks enough of the supply, it will likely go up sharply
2272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency on: January 26, 2021, 04:36:49 PM
It needs to remain a decentralized currency. That's part of what makes it unique. I prefer an economy that shares thesame ideals built around Bitcoin and subjected to its decentralization-friendly rules, than allowing centralized entities/businesses built around it, influence and centralized it. It's basically corrupted once it's centralized and controlled by people with contrary agenda.
Your kind of question is one of reasons I prefer an autonomous Bitcoin Network free from the control of "external forces" with contrary agenda
2273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: January 26, 2021, 02:55:13 PM
If what they consider "gambling" are businesses that allow or encourage customers to take big risk then I think it's OK they eliminate gambling altogether. But if the government considers all kinds of bettings as "gambling" then I think they should only allow the Safe Betting Businesses. That will probably mean a massive regulation of the Betting/Prediction Market to reduce or eliminate things that may be harmful to customers and society in general.

2274  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: January 26, 2021, 01:59:39 PM
Many countries all over the world, are affected by Covid-19. Aside from this pandemic, other problems arose including high inflation rate and other economic problems. As we experienced during the Covid-19 outbreak, food prices become doubled in the market, but why are food prices soaring? there are causes of the rise in food prices that also tied to the pandemic. First is the demand of people, second is the inadequate supply of goods, and last is the virus itself that greatly affects the economy, especially the industry of food production...
However, there is also a more global problem with food. The population of our planet is growing, but the amount of fertile land is not increasing. Moreover, its area is decreasing due to human activities and environmental degradation. Therefore, the problem with food, and in the future with drinking water, will only grow.

We are meant to live with nature in self-sustaining manner, unfortunately this not prioritize, and we are becoming less concerned about nature and living things we were created to take care of.
I think a model where lands are owned together and are well taken care of could easily work in a society where everyone is honest, good, trustworthy... and this will make the population issue not to be much of a problem. Unfortunately, this model will fail and won't be sustained due to how vulnerable humans are to evil. It can only work in a holy society.

2275  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Live Video platform alternative to Youtube on: January 22, 2021, 05:02:21 PM
Decentralized video streaming/sharing site would be good idea.
You'll will really need good/sustainable incentive model that can attract and retain talents and lots of others users.
YouTube is based on model that seems to reward quality, and delivers contents based on users interest. I believe lots its model could be successfully replicated on decentralized video sites if you could first of all develop a Decentralized ID system for identification of users and automatically understanding what interest them through their online activities that are linked to their decentralized ID.
2276  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank withholding funds? on: January 22, 2021, 04:07:16 PM
Not sure I have ever had that problem where I live but I'm always conscious of the fact that big amount will attract suspicion and could possibly lead to undeserved treatment by banks , so I don't even bother taking such risk. I doubt I'll keep my entire savings or large amount in banks that are not really transparent, & can do whatever they want without your consent. Prefer to be my own bank and fully control mine. Amount I can afford to risk will remain in the centralized/opaque banks.
2277  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How To Protect Yourself In This Situation on: January 22, 2021, 02:53:55 PM
The best solution is to have ready cash money in the form of dollar or USDT.
When the market is down you start buying and when the market upside you start selling and so on.
On average, you will get higher profits than Dollar average cost.

current bottom 30000 you can buy more BTC and sell it when 35000 and 40000

Ofcourse. Traders could always have extra funds reserved in stablecoin for buying up the significant dips. I think if many traders make this as a habit, they will indirectly be helping to keep the market somewhat balanced. You keep buying the dips more and sell the highs less with reserved funds from stablecoin (you can afford to risk). They market will move healthier if much of traders funds are used in this manner

2278  Other / Off-topic / Why Bitcoin should not be seen as "Private Cryptocurrency" on: January 22, 2021, 10:47:34 AM
To prevent people from turning it into Company/organization owned by a person or group/groups of people, rather than a Public Network of Global Communities and participants who run full nodes, participate in consensus, do business together etc

The Bitcoin Project is way bigger than a "Company". It's Decentralized Network of  users/people, companies, organizations, marketplaces, (hopefully schools), etc. It's an autonomous Network/Nation with its guiding principles.
Network Participants are expected to hold strongly to the good ideals/principles of Bitcoin like  Decentralization, Transparency, Immutablity, Network Consensus, rules censorship resistant, privacy/anonymity, security permissionless/trustlessness, , etc.

2279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi, meet: The Streisand effect on: January 22, 2021, 09:55:00 AM
I think I have old copies of the Whitepaper (both in text and audio forms/formats).
The Original Whitepaper will easily make sense to anyone who understands Bitcoin and its obvious principles like decentralization/peer-to-peer, transparency, immutablity, censorship resistant, permissionless, privacy, etc.
The original whitepaper can always be compared with what people claim as real the ones. The original would be in harmony with The Bitcoin Principles.

It's important to hash the real whitepaper, distribute across many well decentralized nodes(that can be easily run by most users) and keep it immutable
2280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Toronto women win jackpot lottery on: January 22, 2021, 09:20:30 AM
The dream part is interesting . It's possible that the faith of the family was tested, they believe, never lose faith and eventually end up winning with the dream number.
If it's destined for you, it will always come to pass, but if it's not, it won't. So, I wouldn't consider copying the family unless it was revealed to me or I had dream like that

That is definitely intetesting. Would be nice to make a survey before such a big lottery winning and ask people in general who dreamed if having the right numbers. There might be quite a few people who dream of winning but never actually win the lottery. In the end we only hear the story of the lucky winners but not the unlucky ones. Or having 5 right numbers and not the super number.

Ofcourse. Dreams come true. I have witness mine come true . It was a repeated dream though. Probably similar dream repeating 3 - 4times on different days/nights. I believe it was a warning dream about someone dear to me who was going through stress/problems that caused her an illness. I prayed after the dream. She unfortunately got sick few weeks later from the stress/problems and later got better.

If you are shown things like that in the dream, note it down (if you remember it exactly) and wait for it to be fulfilled. Same dream will probably be repeated to you to help you understand, remember and trust it.
