ok - got the compile and makes done - and got names of all 20 gridseeds

now:

root@raspberrypi:/home# sudo ./minerd -F 850 -G /dev/ttyACM0  -o stratum+tcp://us.ltcrabbit.com:3334 -u xxxxx.1 -p 123
sudo: ./minerd: command not found

ugh!

confused - this is shown at the top of the thread.

the commands are the same for two different programs?
how does it know which one to run?

Now run the miner process:
Code:
sudo ./minerd --freq=600 --gc3355=/dev/ttyACM0  --url=stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 --userpass=13zKJjzxGpjbqJDAWAhFNHVqALqcsCWiat:x

Or using CGMiner Syntax

Code:
sudo ./minerd -F 600 -G /dev/ttyACM0  -o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u 13zKJjzxGpjbqJDAWAhFNHVqALqcsCWiat -p x

miaviator

Part 5A.01: Pi

you says this:

ssh back in as miner and install the pre-requisites
Code:
sudo -s
apt-get update
apt-get install -y build-essential libtool libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev autoconf automake screen
exit

but then on the next step you don;t tell me if I should login as root, miner, who exactly and should I ssh in or do this from the console and WHO should I do this as?

thanks

ps: I also got this and I'm stopped dead following the directions:

this came after: apt-get install -y build-essential libtool libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev autoconf automake screen

Setting up libtinfo-dev:armhf (5.9-10) ...
Setting up libncurses5-dev (5.9-10) ...
Setting up libssl-doc (1.0.1e-2+rpi1) ...
Setting up libtool (2.4.2-1.1) ...
Setting up libudev-dev (175-7.2) ...
Setting up screen (4.1.0~20120320gitdb59704-7) ...
insserv: warning: script 'mathkernel' missing LSB tags and overrides

however I read here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=68263

that doing this will solve that problem:

sudo apt-get remove wolfram-engine

I reran the : apt-get install -y build-essential libtool libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev autoconf automake screen

and i ran ok - without error - but I'm still not sure how to proceed - ssh? console? and as who?

TIA

just a little fyi

8 pm marked my first full week mining with the S1 - hardly any downtime except for 2 hours when I moved it from home to a data center (where I have two 72u cabinets)

bitcoinx estimated weekly income at $418 USD - my first week was $488 on slush's pool.

just an fyi:

with difficulty increases - break even will be about 9 weeks....

my gridseeds arrived this morning - just plug - no wire!

arghhh

well at least I have a cool wire stripper.

I forgot - what were you'all using - 18 awg for power on these guys?

to mine asic resistant coins in addition to my s1 miners and my gridseeds - that's why

there are more coins out there than just bitcoin and litecoin and you might be very surprised to find out the profitability with the right equipment, but that's good for me since there are so many mining lemmings chanting the bitcoin and litecoin mantra.

LOL
2288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining Rig that honestly works - a recommendation on: March 17, 2014, 04:20:56 AM
I wasted 6 hours today with expensive crap that the local (Newark de) Tiger direct sold me trying to build my first mining rig.

Asus Intel z87-Pro MOB
Intel Core i7-4770K processor
8 gb 1866 Mhz DDr3 Ram

it's all getting returned tomorow

my preference is Ubuntu, but in a pinch I'll run Windows 7 since I have a valid license)

and for 6 hours I tried to get my MSI -R9 290X video board working and finally at 11:30 tonight I took it all apart and back it goes tomorrow.

I have a power supply and a great video board to start mining with - nw all I need is a great motherboard that actually works.

Who can make a recommendation and please NO INTEL integrated Network adapters because Ubuntu has no drivers for the new Intel Integrated Network adapters.

I want a machine that will handle four video boards for me to do asic-resistant mining and one that will actually load and recognize the onboard network adapter (preferably western digital) and will recognise my MSI R9 290X video board.

I want a recommedation from something you have that actually works - not pie in the sky speculation - I simply don't have the time to dicking around with shit that does not work.

thanks!

this looks like an abandoned project to me since it's not maintained and none of the links in Post #1 even work.

Anyone with more then 1 miner under windows have them dual mining with cpuminer and cgminer. Just making sure what I have working here is right. I have cgmine for the bitcoin and 2 instances of cpuminer different com ports for the scrypt. Thanks

why not use the new bfgminer ?

Jamie - I'm not opposed - I'm running ubunti/pi - are there any speed advantages to bfgminer?

Huh

this is so cool!!!!

I'm going to run all of my gridseeds - all 24 of them off one single pcie connection.

and since my PSU has five more PCEI connections I can run 144!

so cool!!!

2296  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer support and OverClocking thread on: March 15, 2014, 12:08:28 PM
What kind of 24 hour returns is everyone getting right now?  I just set up my S1, overclocked to a frequency of 393, holding steady at 200GH/s and error rate around 0.5%.  The past 24 hours I have mined about 0.01 bitcoin which is about half of what I would expect.  Could it be just a bad run in the pool? Currently at BTCGuild PPLNS.  Any thoughts?  Perhaps I should wait for a full week and see what I get!

through slush's pool I am seeing about .0258 daily and my Average hashrate in last 10 rounds: 189133 Mhash/s

mine has been running for 4.5 day nows

I would say get out of that pool as quickly as possible

I set my payout at .1 and got my first payout in just about 4 days

I'm ordering another S1 on moonday

slush's pool : Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):   120%, 120%, 107%

is there an authoritative source somewhere to show exactly how to install this on ubuntu/pi for gridseed/lts mining?

I take this isn't like the old GPU limit thing and it's an unkown to a lot of people?

If you don't have any automation software you shouldn't run 100 of these.

It's just idiotic to think that you should run 30+ mhash or 100+ devices on one system.

Spread the control out to 10-64 per control system and develop some automation tools or use the ones I post all over for linux.

I do have software automation setup for alerts, restart cgminer, etc.. so no problem there.

The 127 usb device limit is my problem as stated here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hub

@wolfey2014, you stated if I knew what I was looking for this should be easy to find?

Can you give me some hints? Smiley

I dislike you.

So everytime I hook more than 100 gridseed 5-chip devices to ubuntu 12.04 using the forked cgminer 3.72 (for gridseed) I get errors in syslog about usb.

Some look like this: err (28) No space left on device usb

Others look like this: unable to enumerate USB device on port

I tried another PCI-e usb card and could only get 22 on the extra usb card.

Is there some type of bus limit I can increase to get past 100?

Thanks for any help!
