You should definitely try it.  About updamoon's estimates, now that we switched to Digishield our difficulty changes more rapidly than before.  As an example you can look at the block explorer and scroll down and look at the difficulty chart.  Also notice the difficulty by block table.

thanks - I just did - I profess to not understanding all the nuances of mining blocks, but it's my understanding also they if there's less hash in the network difficulty decreases?

is that true?

Yes, that is true.

ok - great - NOW HEAR THIS: Everyone stop mining this coin so that I can mine solo! LOL
1742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: $/MHS for Asic Miners is finally coming down on: May 04, 2014, 01:04:01 PM
My biggest gripe has been that all Asic miners have been about $140 to $180/Mhs recently

10 weeks ago $199 for a gridseed at 360Khs was a good deal since and I purchased 20. - they worked out to $600/Mhs

Then the gridseed blades hit the market 3 weeks ago and after they dropped the initial price from $3,000 down to $1600 that was a good deal: $307/Mhs

Then of course the announcements came from Mining Asics and KNC Miner for units that would be priced at about $96/Mhs which was awesome and then (thank God) KNC really upped the ante and announced they would double the Mhs of all their units and Maining Asics responded by offering a 2 for 1 deal which effectively dropped the price to $48/mhs - but they won't be coming until late July/Early August.

And last Thursday Hashra announced their new line of Asic miner that will delivered by June 12 and the price for their 30Mhs unit works out to about $151/Mhs

Well - it looks like they've been unseated already!

This morning I see that gawminers.com has three new units coming out
Backwidow 13mhs - $1,899 = $146/mhs
Falcon - 27 mhs - $3,499 = $129/mhs
War Machine : 54 mhs - $6,799 = $125/mhs

this is all good news for us miners interested in Asic technology

I have no doubt that Hashra will now drop their prices. If you're ready to pre-order from them- I'd wait if I were you.

http://www.gawminers.com/scrypt-miners

ps: I am not affiliated in any way with any of these companies. I'm just a miner.

Thanks for the heads up!  I believe Zeus is around that sweet spot as well.   I don't think they ship until the end of the month tho.

http://zeusminer.com/

Zeusminer Blizzard 1.2Mh/s | S-Flex Portable Pro Scrypt ASIC Miner  $199
Zeusminer Cyclone 18Mh/s | S-Flex Blade Scrypt ASIC Miner  $2,999
Zeusminer Thunder 36Mh/s | S-Flex Blade Scrypt ASIC Miner  $5,500
Zeusminer Lightning 72Mh/s| S-Flex Blade Package Scrypt ASIC Miner set  $9,999

I've seen their stuff too but there's something that scares me a little about those guys. I'm U.S. based and prefer to deal with companies where if they screw me at least I can go throw stones at their building and there's some comfort in dealing with gawminers since they're only 4 hours from my home.

The Zeus guys has been pretty evasize about their promises of free 80% mining with purchase - because I've contacted them and got no real answers. I'm fairly confident that they're real but something about them give me a level of uncomfort I can't explain...

their cyclone is a good deal - no doubt about it - hopefully they'll deliver something on schedule as promised.

thanks for that info - I'll take some time and show their cost per mhs in my original post here.

burner - thanks for the new from gawminers - I started a thread on the asic cost per mhs wars and I wrote about them.

cool - I sent them an email - I want to order one.

i give up. brain is stupid.

like two years ago I be able to do this in a snap of fingers. go fckin fig.

download cgminer - I tlike it the best of all miners

or for a really simple way to go - just google BAMT , download it - burn it on a stick, boot from the stick and start mining - I use it on all my rigs

Yep!  If you want the cgminer, LTCRabbit has a good tutorial and downloads...  If you mine there, it will convert your coins to LTC.

https://www.ltcrabbit.com/index.php?page=gettingstarted

that's great - It's what I use and I just change the cgminer.conf to mine different scrypt coin.

PLUS there's enough room to download and compile other algo's too if you want to mine x11 - scrypt-jane coins etc...and it's got the api so I use cgwatcher to monitor my rigs

Zeusminer Blizzard 1.2Mh/s | S-Flex Portable Pro Scrypt ASIC Miner  $199  = 165/mhs

Zeusminer Lightning 72Mh/s| S-Flex Blade Package Scrypt ASIC Miner set  $9,999 = #138/mhs
Plus they're offering some free hosted MHS with each purchase but thy have yet to answer how long three free mhs will last nor when it will start

Lunar Lander 1 : $2,520 | 15 mhs = $168/mhs
Lunar Lander 2 : $4,815 | 30 mhs = $160/mhs
Lunar Lander 4 : $8,955 | 60 Mhs = $149/mhs
Lunar Lander 6 : $13,410 | 90 mhs = $149/mhs

ps: I've been communicating with a guy named Simon who works there and he's been very responsive

LIGHTNINGASIC LA75M Scrypt Miner : $9,999 | 75 MHS = $133/mhs
LIGHTNINGASIC LA90M Scrypt Miner : $12,000 | 90 MHS = $133/mhs
(guess that also did not get the memo that says you get more when you pay more)

this is all good news for us miners interested in Asic technology

I'd be surprised if  Hashra did not drop their prices and the Blades are suddenly totally uncompetitive price wise (but look for an announcement from them post haste Smiley

Gawminers just announced some ASIC Scrypt miners with or without hosting option:

Fury 1Mh/s

199 $

Black Widow 13Mh/s

2.099 $

The Flacon 27Mh/s

3.500 $

The War Maschine 54 MH/S

6.800 $

With Hosting it could be a good deal. I just have 2 Blades hosted from them and everything works fine. The miners go online 02 June or shipped.

Find out more here: http://www.gawminers.com/?ref=sloyalty&token=txF3jKPb1BGj

you're spelling skills leave a lot to be desired - LOL

but the 'Falcon' is a good deal compared the 30Mhs Hashra unit I was getting ready to order.

1752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed GC3355 Scrypt ASIC Ubuntu GNU/Linux installation guide on: May 04, 2014, 11:41:26 AM
well - the gridseed blades are out - I have 3 of them in addition to my 20 gridseeds and tomorrow I'm ordering a 30Mhs unit from hashra - I still run my 3 mining rigs that all have R9 280x GPU (12 in total) for x11 and other oddball cryptos as long as the coin pays well.

why solarize? the technology is still in the stone age - talk that money and buy a gridseed blade or one of the hashra units

Join us to make the most of your scrypt mining rigs!

you are joking right?

I mined it from the start but it's in the dumps right now - bailed when it went below 2,000
1754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SMC] SmartCoin*HARD FORK HALVING @BLOCK 200000 UPDATE WALLETS TO v1.3.2.0* on: May 03, 2014, 12:53:33 PM

I hate to bother you with this question but will all of my different miners act like my own little pool or are they kind of all on their own?

if each one is on it's own and I have 5 different 'workers' - rig1-gpus, rig2-gpus, rig3-gpus, gridseeds & gridseed blades - will they all be working together to find blocks (like a little pool) or are they all really on their own - or doesn't it matter since they're sharing a wallet - i.e. - what is the glue that binds??? the common wallet?

thanks in advance

All the wallet cares about is the total hash rate it gets.  The coins will appear as mined in the one wallet no matter which worker found it.  Does that answer your question?

kind of:

would I put the ip address of my windows machine which contains the wallet here?

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

remember - all of my mining machines are linux

and I'm not crazy about putting a wallet on each of them because I don;t know how to put the same wallet address on three different wallets
1755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SMC] SmartCoin Official Thread - Hard Fork Halving Successful + Digishield on: May 03, 2014, 12:10:13 PM
IH - if you're looking for another pool - talk to the guy at hardcoreminers he's really good

they're in denmark and I've been using them for universitycoin - he's very cooperative and always looking for new coins

good luck

And now Poloniex is down but it seems everything is safe.
It's OK now but SmartCoin is frozen.
Quote
Poloniex is back online! Several markets will remain frozen until tomorrow, but coins are all safe.
Poloniex is my favorite Exchange  Smiley

In my experience Poloniex has the fastest customer service, really impressive.

cryptsy's smartcoin wallet is broken and they can't generate deposit addresses - I've been begging them for 4 days now to get it fixed...they keep telling me they're working on it but nothing gets done.

however the buy orders are higher on poloniex - which I like better - their site was down last night and a lot of coins are frozen right now there.
1757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ASIACOIN POLL - Future in your hands on: May 03, 2014, 10:54:27 AM
I say someone mention the 5th and the 8th so I went with 8th and added another week to be safe

Id love the DEV to come back, don't get me wrong, he needs time to decide if hes reading this.

Im not wasting time though, Ive invested a lot of my time in this coin already.

good luck to you!
1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ASIACOIN POLL - Future in your hands on: May 03, 2014, 10:53:57 AM
dev cashed out and bailed ship.

what did you expect when there's no transparency?
1759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts wanted on development of new coin on: May 03, 2014, 10:51:49 AM
If you're going to make a nother charity coin I guess you'll have to find a way proving people that you're not just using the word charity for yor own profit.

that would be easy because I'd publish the name of the Charity and they'd have a link on their own website with the wallet address...

no problems there - full transparency -

thanks for you thoughts...

the most important thing to me s making sure people know this is Legitimate - I'm sure you've heard of the charity - it's huge and worldwide. I'd be associating with the local branch in Delaware and their website. I've already talked to them and they love the idea.

A recent fund rasier/auction I ran for them raised $18,000 so they like what I do.

But I can tell you - explaining the entire Virtual Currency market leaves 99% of my friends scratching their heads...

LOL
1760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NO more Coin DEV names. All coin DEV's should be transparent on: May 03, 2014, 10:46:49 AM
Wishful thinking at best. What's the incentive for the "dev" to do something like that?
While we can't speak for other coins, but Jared going public has been very beneficial to DigiByte. By being open, transparent and reachable we are now being approached almost on a daily basis by new investors, developers and outside media personal who are interested in crypto currencies.

They have all said the trust factor is huge by putting names and a face behind a coin. In these chaotic times it is a huge selling point for a coin.
