How is it that a pool with over 10% of the nethash has not found a block in the last hour, most listed pools have no miners, the total of all listed pools have less than 20% of the total hash....

I conclude there is a gigantic private pool or ASIC farm on this, and therefore the coin is not secure due to being vulnerable to a 51% attack.  The dev's own pool, possibly?

I am staying away...mining or trading.

Do you know who the OP on this coin is? do your research before spreading FUD. He is a respected Actual Financial Advisor with his own Firm and is a respected mainstream media investor on CNBC. He has no need to do this and also he is one of the only coin owners who actually did not remain anonymous.

Don't mine it or Buy it it's more for me and i'll laugh at you when this hits .001

All the more reason to suspect he has his own giant mining pool.  What other explanation do you have for where all the hash is coming from?

I do not have my own mining pool - in fact I have not mined the coin since the pre-mine.  I have purchased coins in the open market for my own investment purposes, in fact I bought the very first coins at 0.0004 BTC and will not sell them for a long long time.

5 days ago I was getting over 150 every hour with just 27 mhs - my how times have changed!

1544  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LIGHTNINGASIC LA75M,75MHS SCRYPT Miner, USD8800; LA1THS, USD2450.shipped out!!! on: May 13, 2014, 05:23:02 PM
Let me start by telling everyone that Andy from Lighninigasics saved my ass today - HE IS THE MAN!!!!

ok - this morning I ran across this thread and wanted to buy a unit....a 30 MH unit

I went on skype and must have missed the posts here that tells me how to differentiate the scammer from the real Jack - even though this scammer has pictures of Jack in this thread (for the life of me I have no idea why the moderators would not ban this guy - when I ran Sailnet.com my moderators and I banned people all the time).

Here's the scammer on Skype:

here's my conversation with him:

[11:37:44 AM] Jeff  21274: BUSTED!!!

I had been talking with Andy from Lightning Asics earlier in the day and got him on line again and he asked about who I was talking to. He did not think I was really talking to Jack.

Here's the real Jack in Skype (this is what Andy from LA told me)

and I smelled something fishy because Andy told me 4 to 5 days to ship and the guy masquerading as Jack told me he'd ship tomorrow.

and thank goodness for Rammy2k2 (I think) pointing me to right thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421921.msg6707753#msg6707753

there you have it... that's all I know.

your price on 30MH scrypt is not competitive at $4k. that's $133/hr

Hashra is best price in that area at $120/Hr

I'll order one from you but you need to match Hashra $/Mh price
i dont care about hashra now. when they have stock in hand, you can come to compare.

you are right!

I have a question for you - your website says the 30 mh unit is $4,000 but in this thread you say it's $3,500

If I ordered on today - how soon could I get delivery in the U.S?

thanks

I'm actually hoping it doesn't ...A slow steady climb is much more preferable

BK - thanks for the explanation, although one of my co-workers whos run a hedge fund read your Ann a few days ago an explained it all to me. He agreed with your design and he should know he's a Best Selling Author on Amazon and has one of the top 5 investment books on the market.

you wrote:

That is to say if a miner decides to dump, the NSF can only buy so much.

I would add that when dumps occur buyers who've been sitting on the sidelines quickly move in to capitalize on a 'good deal' - what's been lacking as was the case of Black Coin (as I sat there and watched it's run up a few week ago and subsequent crash...and I held on too long  Angry) was the lack of a stabilization fund and no real sense of cohesiveness on the part of the coin holds themselves and it was 'every man' for himself mentality as the sell off began - Kind of like the Wall Street crash a few years ago. The NSF is certainly no slam dunk when it comes to stabilization but no one else has ever offered anything like it before so kudo's to you.

And as my co-worker says: "Panic selling is not an investment strategy" - so thanks for the NSF - it's an interesting experiment that could change the face of all new coins being introduced. I hope your patented it: LOL

ps: on a positive note, I see that the Network Hashrate is down under 4 this morning - it was pushing 5 last night so hopefully the multi-pools are losing interest.

one more pss if anyone wants to comment. I've read briefly on KGW - would that be of help to us here?

I just downloaded the latest -v2-fixed wallet

and its say no block source available

in %appdata% I created a klondike.com (as per the post above)

and that is what's in it - as per the post above.

rpcuser=klondikecoinrpc
rpcpassword=somepassword
rpcport=56679
addnode=kdc.criptoe.com
addnode=88.208.205.38
addnode=88.208.205.216
addnode=88.208.206.55
server=1
daemon=1

and it just sits there saying "no block source available"

Rename your "klondike.conf" into "klondikecoin.conf" and it will sync

member : Klondikecoin should fix their mistake in the announcement

Just rented a 500 MHs monster and the pools can't handle it.  Can a pool op set me up with a worker that has vardiff set to 1024 for starters?

I've got to hand it to you've got big cahonies - shelling out .3 btc to mine about 1,243 coins best case at current value = .26 btc

good luck

so much for the so called "stabilization fund" LOL

this is a killer deal!

$4,295 with 15% off = $3,650 + free shipping.

that's $121/Mhs - which is the lowest price thus far on an miner whose delivery is within just a few weeks.

an incredible deal!

Please note new specs and new prices.

Latest promo code is: moonrock (10% off)

Still pretty good deal we think.  Wink

new lower price - nice

still by far and away for coolest looking miners - much nicer looking than black or red boxes.

style still does account for something and still the lowest $/hash available today.

Let's join hashrate together to combat multipools. The multipool will take away blocks from low hashrate pools. Because they have much more hashrate than normal pool. In the case of huge hashrate gaps between multipool and lowhashrate pool, Digishield can't solve it. So we hope to merge more hashrates to the biggest naut pool http://naut.0feepool.com to combat multipools. If we scatter hashrate to several pools, No one can stop them find blocks and dump coins. It's a terrible result. You will get payback less and less in low hashrate pools.

That doesn't make any sense at all. It really doesn't matter which pool you use, if the point is to combat multipools. Whether you spread out 100MH over many small pools, or put it in 1 big pool, the result is the same: you add 100MH to the network. It's completely irrelevant whether that hashrate comes from your pool or some other pool.

Actually, it's a struggle among pools. The pool has higher hashrate will find more blocks. It totally base on the hashrate rather than "lucky", That's the reason why most pools become hardly to find blocks after multipools rush in. They have the higher proportion of whole network hashrate. If you suspect that, you can have a try to solo mining with 50MH/s hashrate, you will almost can't get any coins even through the day.

is it possible for a coin to prohibit certain ip addresses from mining it?

i.e. Only release source code to specific pool owners?
