Liberia or Sealand.  Either polar pole.

Or even better still, in international waters.
2282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will fail on: May 31, 2013, 06:17:39 PM

I will never argue with the market itself, as I beleive the market is always right, yet historically it is often wrong..(other global markets)

Statements like these are sort of a red flag to me. If you make statements like this, there isn't much point in discussing topic with you in a thread (or any other), because you are not making logical points.   If 1+1=3 while 2+1=3 then it would be worthwhile for me to try to convince you of something.

(With the legitimate exception of a mistake made, or a typo....)
2283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will fail on: May 31, 2013, 05:27:55 PM
Oh never said they will be successful.

They may be succesful to some various extents, but no hegemonic entity will be able to terminate Bitcoin.

Bitcoin will triumph. I think it will be around until it will be replaced, eventually, by a superior coin somewhere down the line.

You can't kill good ideas, and it's very tough to beat fantastic software that is distributed in nature.

Absolute worse case I can conceive as possible is that BTC is banned worldwide by every government. And even in this scenario, it will succeed and gain value, as a currency limited to only the blackmarket (drugs and laundering.)
2284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will fail on: May 31, 2013, 05:22:59 PM
Because BTC is currently what, somewhere along the lines of 0.0000000000000001% of the world economy?

They will. In the future many gov's, especially the good ole American empire, will go to great lengths to disrupt BTC as much as possible.

Investors on the other hand will see the opportunity and will get involved, to profit.
2285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will fail on: May 31, 2013, 05:09:49 PM
Pretty much all of OP's arguments have already been disproved by BTC already having gone from being worthless to over a $130 usd in very few years.
2286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good bye LTC? on: May 31, 2013, 04:55:53 PM
good time to buy imo... only time will tell though...

Seems like NVC is going to be the second hard coin behind the BTC.

ill just leave this here http://coinmarketcap.com/

thanks for this ! Didn't know this site, and it is great. I've sent you 20 cyber-points.
2287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2 ("Netcoin"): A cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: May 31, 2013, 03:00:10 PM
Thanks for the recommendation Luckybit. I'll check out the link and give it consideration, for sure. After about 3 weeks from now I'll have time on my hands (a contract is ending) and a strong itch to get some sort of development work going to contribute.
2288  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Two 7850s running drastically differently on: May 31, 2013, 02:54:53 PM
ASIC quality?  Wow that's a really cool feature.  That must be some what new, I used review for a living, and never even heard of such a new-fangled concept. Didn't even know that was possible; I'm gonna go read up on how it comes up with that value. That is really interesting...
2289  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: NEW - another ASIC chip on: May 31, 2013, 02:14:13 PM
I think this thread was taken out of the oven a bit early.

Good luck to OP with his plans....  But ya, perhaps best to spend your energies on your actual product, and then announcing it when you have a bit more concrete details to offer, I humbly suggest.
2290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vircurex: Which of these coins would you like to see on Vircurex on: May 31, 2013, 02:06:28 PM
One vote for 'no more coins until Netcoin' please.

I personally don't feel most (or maybe all) of the proposed coins offer anything new of value.
2291  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: avalon asic chips - did the first orders ship already? on: May 31, 2013, 01:34:43 PM
Thanks!

Don't know whether i consider this good or bad news... everybody is making boards, clones, batch sales.... in preparation for the almighty chips - but no one has seen chips.  It might be the biggest scam of all.

Highly unlikely, Avalon has shown themselves to be competent.  Additionally, ordering more already-designed chips and then having those sent out is also much more straight-forward than having to build mining units, with the chips and then every other component.

Avalon has been about the opposite of BFL in terms of lateness, honesty, value and trustworthiness.
2292  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC STATUS 5/29 on: May 30, 2013, 07:21:46 PM
I find this situation fascinating from a psychological perspective.

If someone repeatedly lies to you, why would you suddenly think that lie #19, lie #23, or lie #58 might actually be true? What makes you think that this time they are telling the truth, as opposed to the previous 30 or 40 or 50 lies?

This company has proven that they can not be considered honest and trustworthy. At least to anyone who has done more than 30 minutes of research on the forums here.

Fascinating situation...
2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2: A democratic cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: May 30, 2013, 07:06:50 PM
This has probably already been mentioned but I really think it would be awesome to enable merge mining that also supports projects like SETI@home and other BOINC projects like helping find a cure for cancer.

Integrate this with the GUI of your coin so that miner can drag and select a percentage of their hashing power to contribute to the BOINC network (from 0% to 100%).

If the coin gets really popular this implementation could do so much good for the world it's unbelievable.

EDIT: also a GUI that enables anyone to mine easily, making mining more accessible for the masses = more people using the coin Smiley

This would be nice. Not sure if that is realistically feasible, but it is pretty amazing to consider that if there was a 1% 'tax' on mining computations it could conceivably be enough resources to actually make a dent in something very major, such as a cancer research, or find some aliens.
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2 ("Netcoin"): A cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: May 30, 2013, 06:45:55 PM
Thank you LuckyBit for your posts. Great explanations, as usual, thanks.

From your last reply to my question and your other posts, I fully support your take on the situation. I think your plan is the most well thought out and promising, and believe that you are pointing in the right direction forward for Netcoin Smiley.

I'll keep tabs on this, and intend to contribute to the project. I have a strong interest in cloud engineering, having this year completed a technical edit of a 600+ page book on the subject, in addition to my other hands-on experience in IT, and with Amazon's EC2. Aiding in the birth of a cloud mining syndicate in some fashion appeals to me greatly.
2295  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch [2] countdown! on: May 30, 2013, 06:07:17 PM

I'm starting to think that Avalon likes to string along customers, setting up expectations and then silently failing to meet them.

Yes . This is exactly the case.

I continue to be surprised at how many people do not realize this.

They've been doing exactly this for many months.
2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2 ("Netcoin"): A cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: May 30, 2013, 03:33:31 PM
.......ity costs. You wont have to worry about any of that. Just like how we went from people hosting their own web servers in their house to paying web companies to host for them to hosting it in the cloud to virtual machines and VPS. Netcoin hashing power will be hosted in the cloud and you can cite this post of mine when Netcoin is released and see if I was right.

[quote excised for length]

Luckybit that was a good read thanks.

I was wondering if you could expand on your thoughts concerning how you see mining as moving from pools to cloud-hosted services.

Am I correct to assume you mean primarily that you feel the ASICMINER method of participators contributing resources through paying for shares in companies that organize & perform the mining is the way of the future?  Is there an alternate method that you think has under-utilized merit, when it comes to cloud-based hashing power?

Am I also correct that you are  including p2p [pool] mining methods when you discuss mining initiatives that are 'cloud-based'?

Just want to pick your brain on this. I believe in Netcoin so am looking at creating an early pool or otherwise assist this effort in a way that seems most effective and suitable.   Thanks... great conversations going on in this thread and I'm taking notes .

edit: I read the details you posted on the Netcoin forum and think I have a better idea now, thanks.

Hey guys what are you talking about?

Oh no need to answer, just making a point.     Cheesy

I said it a bunch of pages back I think, but for Netcoin, I don't think copy-coins will be a huge issue. Because Netcoin is so unique it will be apparent to most of the community that it is the real deal, and not the inevitable copy coins. I think slowly but surely folks are getting tired of all the lame alt copy cats.

I'd say it would be highly unlikely that a copy of Netcoin could come out soon after Netcoin and become more popular than Netcoin. Some copy coins will come, but I doubt any of them will last longer than a few weeks, and maybe even they'd help promote Netcoin itself.

Since Litecoin was released, and during the 'alt coin scam craze' of the last 2 months or so, I think the community has changed, become more experienced, and the worst is over...here's hoping the popularity of the obvious scam coins will fade.

I just can't easily conceive in any scenario that a Netcoin copy-coin could do better than the original deal, because of all the community support and people working on Netcoin to make it a success. Not to mention, people will know that Netcoin is the real deal because of all its original work. Obvious copy-coins will be obvious, and [I think] shunned.

Of course whatever Mr T.T wants to do with his baby is cool with me. Just my 2 cents.. .
