2301  Economy / Speculation / Re: On not very shocking news, Tesla dumps majority of bitcoin on: July 22, 2022, 06:58:34 AM
I remember Elon Musk complaining about Tesla factories losing money and having difficulties with the production schedule.

Maybe that's why Tesla sold most of it's BTC reserves
. Anyway, this isn't such a big deal and we as Bitcoin maximalists shouldn't act butthurt.

Tesla has the right to sell their BTC reserves anytime they want.

OR pay for Elon Musk's "break-up fee" for backing out of his $44,000,000,000 deal with Twitter. What Twitter and Jack Dorsey can do is use that $1,000,000,000 from the break-up fee to buy Bitcoin for their own treasury.

Who's butthurt? The Honey Badger don't care. Is that all Tesla sold? It didn't crash the price. We'll see Tesla again when Bitcoin is trading with six digits. Cool

Not sure if Elon will go back when the price is at 6 digits, but for sure he will be back. Maybe he will announce it grandiose style or will simply be under the radar but they can't hide it as they have to declare it in papers.

Anyhow, I'm also not surprised, he needed money with the Twitter buy out debacle and Tesla itself is loing money in this recession. So refilling his treasury with bitcoin money is a good thing.

He, and many CEOs, merely have little, or absolutely NO UNDERSTANDING of what Bitcoin truly is, or its potential. Compare Elon Musk to Michael Saylor, Michael Saylor learned the HARD WAY that he needs the utility that Bitcoin provides. I believe he was in Argentina when a bank didn't allow him to move millions of his own money out of the country.

Plus once many more people truly understands that one of Bitcoin's underlying nature also political that weakens strongholds and bounderies, I believe developing/emerging nation-states will also start, or should start, HODLing Bitcoin in their treasuries.

It's probably better for PlanB to develop a model on how to beat Black Jack consistently. Hahaha.

I believe there helpful ways that Technical Analysis can be used as a "guide" in investing. BUT, I don't like short term/day-trading kind of Technical Analysis, I like looking at the Pi Cycles, and 200-Week SMA as my guides. 90% of "traders" who try to win vs. each other lose. Some of those who make profit, proft less than long term HODLers.

Ops didn't see this comment yesterday Wink

I always see TA as fun and entertaining, never as a guide and definitely not a rulebook. Just been too long seeing all kinds of TA and if you take it as fun, you enjoy it. Take it anything more serious and you'll end up disappointed.

PlanB needs a PlanC lol

Many of the other plebs' problem is that they treat Technical Analysis as a Crystal Ball and believe that it's sure to make a profit. They deposit their money, then use 20x leverage. The analysis might be right, but taking 20x leverage will possibly liquidate you in minutes if the market corrects.

Or is he really the Private User who merely unprivated his account? Plus I believe another contest can be made behind the voting contest. That is, "leaderboard for the voter who wins most of the voting contests". Cool

The private user he is describing is Winner which is the user that always in private mode since the beginning, His name is just visible on hourly wagering contest list of winner even if he is on private mode. GOD is different user to him and he is just playing few days per week but with huge volume to secure his spot on weekly wagering contest.

Blackjack.fun whales has different personality and some of them is very mysterious. Hahaha. Only RW is the known celebrity and he is active too here in the forum by making post in different gambling thread.  Cheesy

Who is he in the forum? I want to learn from him, and also be a Real Winner!

Did Elon Musk sell the Pico Bottom? As illustrated by him, not all geniuses make the right decisions in their lives. But from the pleb's viewpoint, we shouldn't worry. Bitcoin doesn't need Elon Musk, or anyone who doesn't take the time to actually learn and understand Bitcoin.

Plus be prepared, because Elon Musk might join Nassim Taleb and FUD Bitcoin like all of those BSV-Flat-Earthers, OR he might join Vitalik and his new shitcoin after Ethereum completes the move to POS.

I just don’t know if the upgrade is already finished because some feature is not yet available on the casino.

Daily 5 FS for daily wagering voters is already credited guys!

There's no official announcement here or in the casino announcement page itself so I think the preparation for the v3.0 is still ongoing. They just finish the update that requires cutting off the 3rd party games access for the mean time. I hope they will introduced a giveaway for the celebration of the upgrade for all the user that is active playing in the casino.

I lose the daily by betting to Private User Winner as daily winner. I didn’t check carefully who's the top spot when I place my vote.  Cheesy

RealWinner was usually the winner of the Daily/Weekly Wager Competitions before the voting contest. Currently there's Private User, and a new player who's named himself "GOD". Haha.

Or is he really the Private User who merely unprivated his account? Plus I believe another contest can be made behind the voting contest. That is, "leaderboard for the voter who wins most of the voting contests". Cool

OP, please ask them, in general, what's their most probable inclination once they're already holding their coins in their wallets. Are they selling, OR will they simply be HODLing? I believe because they're "Bitcoin OGs", they are probably HODLing?

Stock 2 Flow Model, if validated or not, is a model based in flawed assumptions. It merely assumes that because supply is limited, that Bitcoin can go up to X price by Y time, without taking account of the elasticity of demand.

Indeed, indeed. I know a lot of people just went crazy for him and now it's so quiet.

My idea of models, crypto, fiat, any asset, any TA, they all somehow fail to bake in the effects of external factors and/or black swans. Even the supercomputers fail to predict big market crashes when the signs are always easy to see post crash.

Enjoy blackjack pal!

Announcement channel? Is that the chat? I heard the same news from zbnakamoto, and RealWinner in chat. RealWinner was very fast to reply with my questions. I believe he was very bored that he can't play because of those 204-Errors. Haha.

Plus after 7 hours, I can't connect to the games sourced from a third party. The developers might still be very busy with coding/applying the update for VERSION 3.0, which might be available after 24 hours?

I think he means the announcement spot on the front page of the casino which you can see the current 2 announcement so far for the upgrades.

Casino is back to normal now because many players already playing 3rd party games base on the game history. I still don't have update about the withdrawal if it's already instant or still manually processed by the admin but everything is normal now on the technical side including 3rd party games.

Yeah, The front page is what I’m describing. I can confirm that everything is normal now including 3rd party games such as live games, slots and plinko. I deposit recently BNB tokens and withdraw after an hour of playing. My withdrawal process instantly without any issue so I can vouch that everything is normal now. I just don’t know if the upgrade is already finished because some feature is not yet available on the casino.

Daily 5 FS for daily wagering voters is already credited guys!

OK! The same slot machine? Cool
2308  Other / Politics & Society / Re: High inflation is causing GLOBAL protests on: July 20, 2022, 10:56:17 AM
Protesting against inflation is like protesting against the weather. It's totally pointless.
Can the protesters force the central banks to stop printing money? Nope.
Can the protesters stop the war in Ukraine and change the hostile relations between Russia and the western world(which leads to high fuel prices)? Nope.
The protesters want government support, which will lead to more government debts and bigger budget deficits(which will make the inflation worse). Some protesters even want fixed prices or controlled prices. Those people don't know how market economy works. Fixed prices will cause big shortages of goods and a possible black market.
The only way to survive the inflation is to make more money and cut all unnecessary costs.

They are protesting NOT against inflation, but its effects.

They are protesting because they can't afford to buy food, if there was food left on the shelves.

They are protesting because fuel prices are unaffordable, if there are fuel left to buy.

They are protesting against a group of non-elected people who are in charge of the monetary system.

In what region of the world are you? If you can say that the protests are "pointless", then you are lucky to still have enough food, fuel, and affordable living conditions. Do you actually believe those people will be on the streets if they were living comfortably?
2309  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 20, 2022, 10:45:08 AM
^^ Regardless where gambling originated, China or India or ancient Middle East, gambling has been ingrained with humanity since the dawn of man. Perhaps our ancestors really found out a clever way to dice, whether to used it for entertainment or other purposes. And this is how we involved, and this is also the same reason why it's hard to get rid of gambling because it's already on our DNA as per our ancestors.

A great deal of our behaviors may seem to be relatively new but in fact they are very old, the truth is that gambling is everywhere, for example driving to your job is something that billions of people to every year and they do not think too much about it and yet they are taking a bet by doing so, they are betting they will get to their jobs without any incident, and while the majority of the people win that bet every single day there are a few that don't, and this is similar to what humans before civilization had to do as well in which they had to take risks for a potential gain, it is just that in gambling games the odds are more straightforward and you know them in advance, but other than that gambling games are not that different from the decisions that we take every single day.

Plus "gambling" can also be in some activities that normal/regular people, who are not real gamblers, do. Starting your own business can be a gamble. You bet your own money, sometimes the bank's money, and betting on yourself that you can build a profitable business. HODLing Bitcoin is a gamble. You are betting that Bitcoin will continue its path price discovery to six digits, or more.
2310  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 19, 2022, 11:59:09 AM
While we talk about the history of gambling, I think it would also be interesting to know when the first casino house was established and what was its name.

The first casino house, even though it wasn't called a casino but meets the modern definition its name was The Ridotto, which was established in Venice, Italy, in 1638 by the Great Council of Venice to provide controlled gambling during the carnival season. which was later closed in 1774 because the city administration felt that it was impoverishing the local people.

Source: Wikipedia
Cool, always think it either from European where Venice become the center hub of trading, banking, and plenty of money to be made hence gambling may start from there. Or China because there are so many old gambling games from there, like Fan-Tan for example.

I believe most of the modern gambling games were based on the gambling games that came out of China, like card games were probably invented in Ancient China. There are other research papers that say that some of them are from Ancient Egypt, which then spread to Spain, Italy, France, then the rest of Europe.
2311  Other / Politics & Society / Re: High inflation is causing GLOBAL protests on: July 19, 2022, 09:43:00 AM
Structural inflation isn't in the interest of the average citizen, and it's forced upon us by central banks.
It's the main reason I'm into Bitcoin: I believe money should be scarce to be valuable.

Or currency issuance should be known, transparent, and predictable like Bitcoin's issuance. Everything is already known from the first day the protocol went online, and if important changes are made in the protocol, it must go through the community first, not by a centralized entity. Shaolinfry's UASF/BIP-148 was the first illustration of the community's power over the cartel of miners, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1805060.0

2313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: July 19, 2022, 07:05:58 AM

Of course nothing is guaranteed, and surely past performance does not guarantee future results either.

Don't get me wrong, $25 per month is better than nothing, but it is surely not very aggressive since you can see from your link that it will ONLY result in about $1,500 invested over 5 years but at the same time, each of us has to determine for ourselves at what level of aggressive we are able to be, and still feel comfortable financially and psychologically no matter which direction the BTC price goes during that time.  Of course, we can study BTC along the way and to tweak our plan along the way based on such ongoing learnings (and even possibly changes in our finances and psychology) too.. which seems to be what you are saying in regards to your plan to continue to learn.

I like to remind folks that I have frequently suggested a 4-10 year or more timeline as a kind of minimum way of thinking about getting into bitcoin and planning for the long term, so you can set up your plan for your DCA investment plan.. but it does not even mean that you would necessarily be in a good position to start pulling out of BTC after 5 years, because from my thinking every time that you invest into BTC, you should be considering 4-10 years from those additional injections of value.. so if you are DCAing for 5 years, then your latest contributions would still need to wait 4-10 years to play out.
--snip-
My assumption is at least $25 in DCA investment per month for the next 5 years plan and indeed this is not too aggressive because in 5 years only making $1500 is quite a bit but it's true what you said I will determine myself and adjust my finances to feel more stable which means I going to do more than $25 later, maybe $50/$100/$150 I'll put in the planned DCA.

At the moment I only have a fixed salary from my monthly work, while I have a plan in the next 6 months to open a business and of course my income will increase slightly, so I will add the allocation which was originally $25 to be slightly larger because it will adjust My income is from the results of the business that is opened.

I think that 5 years has been a long investment with 5 years of travel I will continue to experience market movements and learn a lot about bitcoin in it, in essence I must be able to manage good money management during this trip before leaving.

It's none of my business, but I believe it would be better for you to postpone your plan in opening a business. The economies around the globe will go through a recession, and make it financially harder for you to maintain having a job and a business.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but opening a business during a recession will give you a lower probability of success. I believe it would be better to save all your capital until a more bullish situation emerges.
2314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: July 18, 2022, 11:52:09 AM
So currently the price is $20,880 as per preev. Just want to put it here just a place holder so that we can go back here when we hit the next bull run. Maybe that time we will be in the 6 digits and finally the S2F model will be vindicated, hehehe. Very cheap price and we can get a hold of it and then what the title says, HODL. There is no secret sauce here, just the old and traditional way of investing and have a lot of patience.

Whether Bitcoin surges to six digits or not, Plan B's S2F is a predictive model based on a flawed assumption. The limited supply alone won't cause Bitcoin to surge to, and over six digits. But if we reach it during the next bull cycle, I expect PlanB to be more imsufferable. Hahaha. Plus you said it, there's no secret sauce. We can't outsmart the market.

Well he will obviously adjusted it already, to fit a perfect model so that it will be the target again, hehehe. Yep, in the years that I have been here, (early 2017, seen the bull run then bearish, then the cycle repeats again), I would say that we can't outsmart and fight the market, the pattern = true again, so now we are in a bear market and it might take years again before we can fully recover and yeah, 6 figures will be the target next.

Although I like to post about Bitcoin's ongoing path of price discovery to a six digit valuation per coin, it's actually more important to try buy the Pico DIP if you don't have the mental strength to maintain a DCA-style strategy like JuanJayGee.

Furthermore, Bitcoin has probably priced in the expected 75 BPS rate hike on July 27 FOMC meeting. There's no more FOMC meetings until September 20. ALL MARKETS will possibly take that opportunity to SURGE.

DewARR Congratulations!

Plus which slot games are available after winning the free spins? I voted for RealWinner twice, I believe I'm eligible for one of them.

I voted for RealWinner again in the Daily Wager Competition.

Thanks @Wind_FURY and all
Free spins are usually credited to DigDigDigger  I just claimed it and win 2k satoshi this game is a bit stingy  Roll Eyes
I never saw your name on the leaderboard , are you inactive or using a private name?
Recently I saw @shasan there he seems to be one of the Blackjack lovers  Roll Eyes

OK, thanks! I just played DigDigDigger with my five free spins. Cool

I'm currently not very active in the casino, but I got in top 10 of an Hourly Wager Competition once. Although I really like to play some BlackJack sometimes during my lunch break onnthe job, if I'm lucky to have the time. Hahaha. I also set my account as a private user, but it won't make a difference because my volume is too low.

But the next "crash/dump" is starting to weaken. I believe if it crashes, it won't crash below $17,000 anymore. Research Bitcoin's Pi Cycle Bottom. It's a pattern of the last two bear cycles, and it will be the first time for Bitcoin breaks the Pi Cycle if it currently doesn't happen.

Plus who is this Private User? Hahaha.

Hope you're right, but no, I don't read or follow any kind of TA, they've all gotten wrong. Look at Stock 2 Flow model, everyone praised it for years and now it is totally invalidated.

Bitcoin has broken many records for first time in this crash. Never spent more than 6 consecutive weeks in red = new record 9 weeks. Never went below previous ATH = went below and stayed below for weeks.

TA relies on records to stand and history to repeat.

Stock 2 Flow Model, if validated or not, is a model based in flawed assumptions. It merely assumes that because supply is limited, that Bitcoin can go up to X price by Y time, without taking account of the elasticity of demand.

Private user NO idea. I'm private also these days but not that it's important lol.

All around the different regions/parts of the world, they have the same issue that's causing mass protests. It's HIGH INFLATION, HIGH FUEL PRICES, HIGH FOOD PRICES, HIGH COSTS OF LIVING, AND LOW MINIMUM WAGE.

That's what happens if a non-elected cabal is made to have control over the money supply. Look at this list. Start researching about your country's central bank policies, read the news, and know if your country is about to have, or is currently having high inflation. Because your country could be next for a mass protest.

2318  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 16, 2022, 12:18:30 PM
It's good to see that Sri Lankan people are brave enough to kick out their corrupt government, because in a lot of countries this is no the case, and the government would rather kill the protestors to stay in power. I hope the new government will make sure that the necessary reforms will happen, although such reforms could take many years until their effects would be felt, so sadly there's still years of economic struggle ahead.

It wasn't "bravery", it was necessity. Because if they were truly brave, they would already have moved together before before the economic crisis happened. We have always known that the government lies to us, they steal from us, and they manipulate us. But have people in general been "brave"? NO. If we can't be "brave", we can HODL Bitcoin as an anonymous way of "revolt".
2319  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 16, 2022, 11:49:18 AM
My vote is NO! Expectations for 75 BPS rate hike is currently a possbility, very close to 100%, BUT Bitcoin might have priced it in after the Fed's 9.1% CPI print during Wednesday. There will also be no more increases in the interest rates until September, the next FOMC meeting. Buy the DIP, and? Cool
2320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitepaper says "We" on: July 16, 2022, 09:39:58 AM
Probably just another way for him to hide his identify. Even in his post in this forum, he often misled his readers by the time he logs on this community, sometimes Satoshi will use American and then British English. So we shouldn't take this literally, even in some well written article throughout history, you can find similar pattern from the authors.

That's right! He probably pretended to be Adam Back, then the next week, he'll pretend to be Nick Szabo. It's also possible that he changed his coding style, and actually went through the struggle to code the first versions of Bitcoin in Windows instead of his "possible usual" Unix-based system? Were there cypherpunks during that time who coded in Windows?
