You have no other option. I joke about the whalecumulators, but what else can we plebs do? Buy the dip, and HODL! You do not want to end up empty handed on the next cycle
Buy and HOLD...!!!
Two syllables that we often hear in investment advice in bitcoin, scientifically people think so because bitcoin is the best investment at the moment, besides that bitcoin is also the best asset in the long term for us to save. We also have to pay attention to a few things, buy when there is a decline and don't panic when the market experiences a fairly severe correction, the current bitcoin period is entering a sideway cycle, meaning that the resistance point is still there.

It's actually three syllables. Cool

But that's not important. What's very important is currently to have an investment plan from January to December of 2023, and be sure that you have enough Bitcoin HODLed before the next halving. It's also not important what kind of investment strategy we plebs want to use, what's important is PLEBS BUY and front-run the billionaires before the next bull cycle. DCA, Buy the DIP, Buy on Strength, WHATEVER! JUST BUY AND DO NOT BUY THIS GUY!

Quote

If you are someone who is a big believer in bitcoin then there is no need to identify a dips but all you need to think about is how to enter the market and collect some bitcoins in case of a dips.

Big believer, or not, as a pleb like me, if you want good profit you should, Buy the DIP, and HODL.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of accepting bitcoin in business on: January 01, 2023, 11:43:21 AM
@Merit.s good work man, thanks for helping with bitcoin adoption in your own part of the world. I'll try to add more details that will make your new initiative attract more customers. You need an ad that’s bold and obvious, it’s a miracle the customer found you, and I think that’s mainly because he’s been searching for a motel he can pay with bitcoins the whole time, if you had a billboard outside that says you accept bitcoin it will be a lot easier to gain that attraction. I assume your motel has a bill board or ad sign outside, you could redo the old one and make a new one that adds some bitcoin hints so people know this motel is different.

OP could also advertise an offer for a discount if the payments are made in Bitcoins or add some freebies and other special benefits for Bitcoin users/Bitcoin payments. Because unless people earn their salaries in Bitcoin, it might be harder for them to spend Bitcoin. Why do, "buy Bitcoin to spend Bitcoin" if the person can merely use fiat directly? It's a different situation from Mr. Heroine Dealer and the Heroine addict in the dark market. Accepting Bitcoin merely for accepting it is not an indicator that people will simply start using it.

He can also get free advertisement since for sure many people will talk about the action he do especially if there are so many bitcoin users in their area.

Plus if there isn't many Bitcoin users in OP's area, he could use his establishment to organize a small Bitcoin meet up for the people to learn, understand, AND later use Bitcoin for payments, HODLing, trading, or buying drugs from Mr. Heroine dealer in the Darknet Markets.

Jokes aside, good education about Bitcoin is very important. It will make you have a true understanding of why Bitcoin could change how we think about money and markets.

As an example, there's the "ransomware market". Because software vendors are generally slow in patching their software, hackers have found an opportunity to create a "market" to profit from their skills through ransomware that uses Bitcoin.

An official partnership? Gainzy probably should also share his leveraged day-trading tricks and tips through RollBit's Crypto Futures exchange. I didn't log in while looking around the casino, is this a portfolio builder?

https://rollbit.com/portfolio

I believe that should be very useful for those people who like to gamble in cryptocurrencies, BUT they should know they are actually gambling. I have always suggested, Buy the DIP, and HODL.
Gambling is gambling and we shouldn't really be focusing on how we could do it, the method doesn't matter as long as we are gambling. Rollbit is a casino, if anyone thinks that they are going to do something here and spend their money and could make money in return they are forgetting about the fact that this is a casino and not an exchange or anything like a staking platform or something.

If you are doing anything, including following an influencer and doing whatever they are doing, if you are doing it on a casino you should be aware that it's gambling and nothing more. I can't really emphasize this enough, if you are in a casino, and doing something with your money, it's always gambling.

That's too many of the word "gambling" in one post. Hahaha.

What I was merely saying was a warning. There are also too many plebs like us who believe they are "trading", and that they should be entitled for some profit because they "did everything right" without truly understanding that they were actually gambling with 100x leverage using their salaries, their savings, the money of their wives/husbands/parents. The money used for their "trading" might really be for their expenses/for their families.
1684  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: December 30, 2022, 12:21:10 PM
I have been reading some posts that, "Bitcoin has never experienced a real Economic Crisis/Tightening", and that the bottom could be lower than expected. I accept that that argument has a point, BUT I will tell you what also has a point. If the Financial Tightening could make Bitcoin fall lower than unexpected, THEN Quantitative Easing could also make Bitcoin surge stronger and higher than expected. It might be the same surge as 2011 - 2013/2015 - 2017? Buy the DIP, and? Cool
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Types Of Online Casinos To Avoid.. on: December 30, 2022, 12:07:56 PM
A casino with no provably fair policy is a red flag and players are not expected to use such online Casinos because their betting outcomes is fabricated in favor of the casino, and players tend to loss out massively too. Aside from this forum, Casinomeister is a good forum that reviews the authenticity of an online casino for players. We must avoid any Casino with poor customer representative, and slow to solve a critical problem like payout or withdrawal issues. So, if a casino has a track record of withholding people's money, then its a red flag for players; such Casino shouldn't be patronized.

I agree with you that we should be doing research online before choosing a new casino for us. Reading reviews in forums like bitcointalk is my go to source to determine if a casino is legit or not. Trusting in a forum where you can see the user who wrote about the casino is much better than trusting in any of the many review websites. For example, if a senior or hero member here on the forum has an issue with the casino than I would give that claim much more weight than from an anonymous review online. Checking the provably fair policy is a good start, also looking at the ToS is a good indication how sophisticated the new casino is. The main issue would be of course if there are problems with withdrawals, withholding money from the gamblers is a big red flag and leads me to avoid that casino.

Casinomeister is not just a review site, just like this forum, member on there have their responses on different Casinos. However, I'm skeptic about your response on Hero members or legendary members being a better source to trust than review sites, people differs and one complaint from a reputable member here doesn't make a casino bad. Unless such a dispute is confirmed true and took till the end of time to get resolved. Users can then change their choice. Besides these, it's important to note that these casinos are being operated by different bodies, and can be far from perfection despite the technologies, and man power used to run the business. In essence, what you said about review sites is right on one hand, but on the other hand, not all casino is announced or listed on this forum. So, in such a scenario, online casino reviews can be a strong tool to help players have an internal view of the casino before signing up and depositing money.

One of the best practical sources of information to know if a casino is good or bad in the forum is the signature campaign managers. The campaign managers are incentivized to make sure that the casinos they represent are legit, or else they might get a red trust rating and they might lose their incentives for being campaign managers. Although it might not be perfect, it is still better information than no information.
1686  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun | Live tables |SLOTS| Baccarat | InstantWithraw| v3.0 Launched! | on: December 30, 2022, 10:56:13 AM
What about if BlackJack.Fun assigned another slot machine for free spins accumulated from voting and the chatbox?

Master Joker for free spins accumulated from voting and chatbox, with wins go to the bonus wallet.

Dig Dig Digger for free spins accumulated from actual play/gambling, wins go to the balance.

This is a good suggestion to be honest so that rewards will be separated automatically but I doubt that this will take effect any time soon since they are prioritizing the website upgrade over the bonus restructure. I’m more excited on the upcoming VIP reward content hoping those 1mbtc weekly will came back again with just a minimal wager requirements per week.
It's OK, we can wait. Cool

But if BlackJack.Fun also truly found the suggestion good, I believe they could implement it within a few days, like when they implemented the change of the slot machine to Master Joker for the free spins. Although they had to return to Diggy because many users were blocked by Master Joker.

I think it's okay to grow colder and hotter towards a casino time to time, you can't feel exactly the same about the same casino at all times.

I believe that it also depends on the casino handle their promotions and player-bonuses. If a casino can find a balance between fair rewards with low costs, then it can have a loyal group of users for low expenses.

Plus I might have been too optimistic in saying that they could implement it in a few days. It will be a few months if they are considering the suggestion, and it needs careful examination.

Quote

This is why I have a casino rotation, I gamble at different places constantly, like end up gambling here for a month and then another place for few weeks then another for a month and so forth and come back here and then repeat everything over and over. That way for like 3-4 months I have a rotation meaning there are like 3 month periods where I do not play for the same place again before I come back.

This allows me to basically get used to the other ones and then come back to here like it's a brand new thing and a fresh fun that is not boring anymore.

What different casinos do you rotate? If there was one casino that gives a player/user good and fair cashback, or easy to clear bonuses, would it truly be worth it to waste your time in different casinos?
1687  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉 Owl.games 🦉 Web 3.0 Crypto Casino & Sportsbook - BTC-Metamask-Walletconnect on: December 30, 2022, 10:01:25 AM
Now my question based on your comment is, what is the need of privacy in gambling when the casino in question already know who you are?
this is in terms of those that have completed a KYC verification on the casino, is there still any need hiding your identity of location from the casino even after you've completed kyc verification?
Answering that question may be hard but we all know that different people with their reasons for doing things and only the individuals involved know exactly why they do what they do, and VPV flagging on casinos have been due to some of these reasons but is not limited to them.
1: casinos flag vpn accounts when there are suspected cases of a violation of their terms and conditions, in this sense a player trying to bypass restrictions.
2: when there is bonus abuse and the case of multiple accounts, this way Chester tries to use VPN to stay off the radar and keep accumulating casino bonuses under multiple accounting.
Then putting this things you mentioned perspective, I personally think casinos that ban the use of VPN on their platform shouldn't be blamed,  when the majority of those that use VPN, use it for doing things that the casino is against, then I pretty much support the ban, because like I said earlier, I've not seen a genuine reason why some one in a region where the casino has not restricted would prefer using VPN if not to hide his or her identity, and from my personal estimation, more than 90 percent of why most people hide their identity in their gambling activities is just incase they find an opportunity to abuse the casino, their identity won't be immediately known.

It's also an opportunity for people to use fake identities in the casino for nefarious purposes, like laundering their coins, or it could be something more "innocent" like going around a ban. It could also be another vector/opportunity for minors to gamble.

Although there's no clear "ban" on the use of VPNs, I believe when you use them, the casino puts the user in their list of potential fraudsters/cheaters.
1688  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. National Debt Ceiling on: December 29, 2022, 12:32:15 PM

What do you think and the possible effects if the United States defaults on its debts or its credit rating is downgraded?

The brilliance of the United States' system on issuing debt, and paying for their debt is that they are doing it with their own currency, which they can print when they need it. It's a cheat, a hack, an exploit in the global financial system because the U.S. Dollar is the Global Reserve Currency. For possible effects of a default/downgrade, we don't know, it's probably going to be worse than expected. But what U.S. Congress will defintely do is raise the debt ceiling.

1692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Zeihan - in a world of carbon taxes, cryptos net worths is negative on: December 28, 2022, 12:32:49 PM
Im a fan of Peter Zeihan and in general agree with many of his arguments, such as China collapsing by 2030 due to demographics

While aging demographics pose some problem, there's no way it'll make China collapse.

Peter Zeihan - in a world of carbon taxes, cryptos net worths is negative

He goes on to say "crypto is the poster child for the environment from 1990 - 2022 when we had unlimited volumes of capital. Now with that the money is going away, crypto is going away"

This statement is ridiculous since miner could just mine with renewable/sustainable energy which has less carbon and it only has small impact on cryptocurrency which doesn't use PoW. Report by Bitcoin Mining Council also show majority Bitcoin miner use renewable/sustainable energy.

Looking at China , growing inability to keep the power on and growing inability to feed themselves , collapse is not out of the question,
part of the reason they started the PoW ban.

PoW uses an insane amount of energy , carbon taxes would drive up input costs for miners to increase bankruptcies that are already skyrocketing without carbon taxes.

Now if Franky1 is correct, then BTC price will increase to offset the increase in miners cost, but if that were true, then why are so many miners going bankrupt now.

I believe the "so many miners" that are going bankrupt, you are saying they're all Bitcoin miners, not shitcoin miners? Can you show us a list of who those "so many miners" that went bankrupt?

Quote

IMO, it is because the VC money that kept the PoW miners afloat has dried up for the majority, and the VC money is what was propping up the price and that is going away.

Bitcoin Mining Council puts out alot of propaganda bullshit, BTC miners are using power grids that have some renewables as a % of their total which include coal, nuclear, & natural gas as the bulk %.

The Polar Vortex in the US, just caused 30% of the bitcoin hashrate to go offline for 3 days to avoid grid failure, this caused a decrease in the speed of finding new blocks, the only thing saving BTC, is hardly anyone is using it's blockchain anymore.

But what if Bitcoin keeps chugging along, producing block after block for decades? What if it lives longer than you? How old are you? 50? Average human life span is 70 to 75 years. What if Bitcoin keeps on running 10x longer than your remaining 20 - 25 years in the world?

Quote

The Lack of VC money will hurt all crypto, killing most and only the very strong top 20 Non-PoW coin networks will survive and any tokens running on those networks, the rest are just fubar.

Haha. That would truly indicate that it's going to be a Shitcoin World.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino games plebs like us must play on: December 28, 2022, 12:17:16 PM
I'm not against the use of the Martingale System, I'm merely trying to debate if it's truly an effective betting system to help plebs like us win some money in the casino. I have heard others trying to argue that playing casino games is not for profit/just for entertainment. OK, but perhaps using the Martingale System might make the entertainment last for only 10 minutes in the casino because you doubled your bets to zero. Hahaha.

But as you posted, maybe someone likes to play like that. Cool

I am against martingale system and I think this is one of the worst gambling approach.
You need an endless wallet to be able to reach a win/profit with Martingale system. there are tons of explanation about it, any gambler must be aware of that. also the final result. You will get a win of the initial amount even if you doubled your bets a lot of times. It means you're getting an high risk for a minimum benefit!
Another reason I don't suggest this gambling approach, also because this is the mental result for "addiction". I will bet more/doubling my bet so I can win...

I believe the same argument can be applied in day-trading. If a day-trader's stop-loss has been activated repeatedly and it has caused him lose 20% of his capital, should his next trades be double in size before he lost 20%? NO, that would be stupid, he SHOULD make his trades smaller in size to preserve capital, and wait for a better/bullish situation in the market. If he doubles his/her trades during losing streaks, he will have NOTHING by the time everything is bullish again.
1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino games plebs like us must play on: December 28, 2022, 10:53:00 AM

Please try to understand my point. House edge makes sure that a player/user is a long term loser. The Martingale System has nothing to do with winning or losing, BUT has everything to do with how fast/quick that he/she loses his/her capital. Visualize being long term loser in a casino game that has 5% house edge against you, and doubling the amount of your bets everytime you lose. The casino might already be counting the amount of their profits from you before they happen.

Yeah!  These are exactly what you pointed out, I totally agree, a good example.
Of course, you can also gamble on the Martingale strategy.  But the question always arises, how long, how many cycles of the game will sustain your budget and the money that you can afford to lose.  This is where you start to figure out .. count ...
And you understand that you should not play according to this strategy for the simple reason that the game itself will not last too long, you will enjoy the game for too little time (which is generally the most important thing when playing  casino!).
And besides, a series of frustrations from losing, it still grows as the size of the lost bet grows.

So I, perhaps, am not a supporter of a clear and strict use of such a strategy.
But, of course, maybe someone likes to play like that
.?

I see many stories like this on the forum, from African countries but mainly from Nigeria, which is the largest African community we have. Sadly, it is not representative of what happens in the rest of the world, where Bitcoin is mainly acquired as an investment, and although there are sites to pay with it, people rarely do it. But anything to help expand the knowledge and use of Bitcoin is welcome.

It's a choice. You want to buy Bitcoin and HODL because it's a good investment? You can. You want to buy Bitcoin and spend/use them where fiat is not an option in your region? You can. You want to criticize the HODLers? You can. But you must understand that it's the market that took Bitcoin from nothing to more than $10,000 per coin, WHICH was also what made more people become more attracted to accept it, and use it.

So that's why Im torn on his views on crypto - hes usually right.

He sounds like a FUDster. China collapse by 2030? That would entail that every other country that relies on Chinese production would collapse too. A war would ensue before that could happen.

"Money is going away"? Did he mean to say Quantitative tightening? The Federal Reserve will pivot as early as March, 2023 if inflation would drop quick enough. The printer will be back, and the money will flow ser. Cool

My take on this is that yes, while there will be less capital going forward, fiat is still created at the whim of commercials banks, therefore the idea of a digital cash that cant be debased is a powerful one.

It's not "on the whim of the commercial banks", it's the FED.

Quote

On future carbon taxes, which I agree with, the bitcoin network can easily operate on a fully renewable grid - the problem with renewables is they are intermittent and the energy requires storage. Neither of these limitations apply to the Bitcoin network.

I believe that in a few more years, many countries will discover that, LIKE GERMANY, pursuing the dream of having their energy sources from mostly renewable sources is a MISTAKE. They are simply too unreliable.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino games plebs like us must play on: December 27, 2022, 08:52:33 AM
Contrary to popular belief, it's actually possible to earn big amounts through martingale only in the short-term as long as luck sides with you big-time. It's a high-risk, high-reward solution only in the short-term.

Hasn't worked for me yet, but it worked for many others despite being a negative progression strategy.

"Short-term" doesn't prove anything. It's an excuse. Would it really count if "the gambler" used the Martingale System, won a big amount, them stopped gambling forever? Would that really prove that the Martingale System as "practically useful" for gambling? I believe not, unless "the gambler" used his winnings to gamble with the Martingale System again, which will prove that it isn't an effective system when you're playing casino games that have a house edge.

A strategy can either give consistent profits or not, due to the randomness of the games some gamblers can obtain some profits but the negative expected value of their bets will continue to exist, however those profits have nothing to do with martingale and instead they have to do with the nature of gambling itself.

So the only way to judge the martingale strategy is by applying a long term approach to it, and whenever this has been done martingale has been proven to be a useless strategy.

Please try to understand my point. House edge makes sure that a player/user is a long term loser. The Martingale System has nothing to do with winning or losing, BUT has everything to do with how fast/quick that he/she loses his/her capital. OP, consider soft copies, encrypted, and stored in encrypted USBs, all the same copies, then place each in different places.

For me personally, I have one USB in my house, one hidden in my car, one hidden in my parent's house, and one in a small safe in our family business. That's most of my savings I made from 2015 - 2019 in there. I checked today, and I used to check the address everyday to see if they're still all there, and they're always there, thank God. Hahaha.

If there's an incentive to run a node, then I believe more people will run one.

There's not enough incentive for that. Running a full node ensures you privacy and security, but mainly privacy. Since most people don't care about that, they'll just stick with SPV (which grants them self-custody and security; the significant parts for most). If we want most people to have a full node running, then we should focus on education and on incentivizing for privacy appreciation.

But like what you posted, "most people" don't care about privacy, and validating their own transactions in the network, and actually use Bitcoin. But if it was possible for a monetary incentive structure placed in Bitcoin for people to their own run full nodes, then "most people" would be making special effort to run one. Cool

The incentive structure is what made Bitcoin actually is today, although some altruism was required to boot-strap the network.
