It is really kind of you to mention you have read all the posts, I think we all were fairly sure you would be doing that considering the outpouring of support towards you. You do not have to explain about the text size of the replies, I think we all understand about that.

The most important thing is for you to focus on your health. We understand you will not be able to post regularly in the coming days and to be honest nobody is expecting a running commentary either. The positive messages being sent your way will no doubt continue and most sending them are not expecting one to one replies considering the scale of the thread.

I really appreciate you have taken more than one opportunity to advise us to get checked and that is the best message you could have given. I sincerely hope members here do start booking appointments. Your health comes first, take it easy and try to relax.

The fact you should prioritise any spare time you might have with your family over the forum over this difficult period is another thing we all expect. Just take care of yourself and try to remain as positive as you can, hopefully everything will be fine.

I wanted to write this as a separate post so please don't report it for back to back or whatnot. People will see me replying and might skip over it and not see what I'm going to post here.

I have read every single reply to this point and will continue to do so. I have also quoted and replied to every single person because they took the time to read and reply to the post. I think it is important that people know I read their words. Some only got a thank you and some got a larger reply. That in now way reflects on how I may feel about a person. It just depended on if you asked a question or posted a condition of your own.

I have also sent some merits out but will now stop with that. I want people posting here because they care, not because they want to get a merit. Not sure if anyone is doing the latter, but I see people posting suspicions.

I do appreciate all of you who have taken the time to reply to this point. If you haven't made an appointment to get checked, please consider doing so.
2322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: December 23, 2022, 11:43:10 AM
It'll almost certainly happen. They seem to have agreed terms in principle and now just have to decide on the venue/county. It's the biggest fight for both of them and I think it's the first time in 20 years that the opportunity to become undisputed champion has been there so they'd be stupid to not get this fight over the line. I'm sure they're trying to wrangle as much money out of the Middle East as possible which is probably the only reason pen hasn't been put to paper yet. The only thing that could hold it up is both fighters mandatory bouts which will be enforced if they don't get this thing signed and officially done soon. I don't think either party will be as stupid to throw away this opportunity over greed.
The fight will go ahead because as you said neither party will be stupid to throw the opportunity away. If they want to maximise sentimental value it stands to reason Usyk would want it to take place in Ukraine but looking at it logically that would be almost impossible. If the boxers want to get the largest possible share of the purse the fight will probably take place in the Middle East. I think it is inevitable, Fury vs Usyk will go ahead in 2023 without either boxer being forced in to mandatory bouts elsewhere.

I'm sure the promoters are hashing out their terms right now, and we'll probably get a lot of talk from Fury's side about how the fight isn't going to happen, and Usyk is taking his time. You know, the usual. I imagine then they'll be more fighting talk, than the banter we've seen recently. Potentially from both sides as Fury starts to annoy Usyk.

It has to happen either that or the Fury vs Joshua fight. No other fights make sense, especially with these fighters being at the tail end of their career.
With the Fury vs Usyk fight being the biggest opportunity for all involved to make phenomenal amounts of money, that is the fight that has to go ahead. Fury was going all out trying to get Joshua in the ring but after losing to Usyk twice it would have been a huge mistake for Joshua to fight Fury and risk losing three consecutive fights.

Surely the Fury vs Usyk fight makes sense over anything else and if the boxers want it they will sign the contracts soon to end the speculation.
2323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: December 22, 2022, 08:45:18 PM
Bumping this thread discussion rather than creating a new one, because there is another USYK-Fury fight discussion roaming around
I had no idea there was another thread, I was not focused on the boxing after the fight that was supposed to happen did not transpire and Fury went off to fight Chisora after Usyk stated he was not going to fight until early 2023 at the earliest.

According to the news[1], Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk location teased as promoter gives promising fight update.  The fight is planned to happen if both parties agree on a date between February 18 and March 4 next year.  They plan to hold the fight on one of the three middle eastern countries because of huge payout.

Quote
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s representatives are currently in talks with three Middle Eastern countries about hosting the proposed heavyweight unification clash in 2023. According to Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krassyuk, Wembley and Cardiff are also in place as backup options

If the fight won't happen until March 4, Krassyuk claims that if the fight is not made by March 4 then it will never happen.

Hopefully, this news is not a hopium for fans.  It has been long awaited for these two giants to have a unification fight but one way or another the fight never happen and this time I hope the two camp agreed to get it on.
It is the fight boxing fans want to see because unification bouts do not come along frequently. Where there is money there will be a way to find solutions and I am sure the fight will happen because both fighters are at the very near to end of their careers and would want to retire as unified champion.

This is, of course, the right decision for both of them because they cannot literally fight currently in Ukraine because it may gonna be their worse nightmare if Russia decided to fire a missile in that stadium in the midst of their intense exchanges. Considering their popularity in the middle east, I'm sure it would be a good decision and safe compared to what Usyk wants. It would be a blockbuster there, especially since it's a unification bout for these two, and also Fury once again wants to prove himself he can beat anybody in the weight division.
It is understandable why Usyk would want the fight to take place in Ukraine but in practical terms there is no chance it will go ahead there. Fury should try to push to have the fight in the UK but we will see the drama unfold over the coming days.

To an extent you can understand why members would want to sign up to a signature campaign paying the sort of money 1xbit do but having said that I think we all as a collective have a responsibility to try to minimise the impact they could have on vulnerable and gullible people as well as newbies. It is a thin line in most cases and blurred lines on others occasions when it comes to handling signature campaigns that have such a torrid reputation.

We as a community cannot get it right all the time even with the best of intentions but at the very least we can try our best to take teh course of actino we deem to be best for the majority.

That’s the sad reality but we do our best. You have done a good job tagging members that are greedy enough to wear the signature and promote the casino. I salute you for that. I don’t see any of the signature participant posting on this thread, some of them were quite vocal about the legitimacy of the casino in the beginning. They are now silent though I see them posting in gambling sections.

Please do not promote 1xbit / 1xbit.com

REQUEST FOR ATTENTION OF: All 1xbit Signature Campaign Participants: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5347222.0

Please check the feedback that 1xbit have received and please review the thread linked above. Please do not promote a website that has a very dubious history and has been the subject of a very high number of scam allegations.

1xbit.com / 1xbit1.com signature campaign participants will probably receive appropriate trust from multiple users

2326  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: December 20, 2022, 09:07:24 PM
In my opinion, all complaints should be taken seriously as long as they are presented with evidence. Blockchain transaction IDs along with screenshots and any chat history can provide excellent proof when it comes to backing up an allegation of wrongdoing. If that stage ever comes, then it should not matter if the casino involved is a big reputable one or a new one starting out, they should respond to the allegation and then allow others from the forum to post in the Scam Accusation thread based on what they have read.

The structure of the forum (not just related to 1xbit but all websites that range between highly suspect and out-and-out scams) is as such that they are not moderated in the forum and that is why they have been space to breathe here.

As you rightly said, we cannot kick them out and as they have lost all concerns about their trust ratings there is not way to tackle them. One way to cause some form of disruption to their plans within the forum is to discourage members from participating in their signature campaigns.

There is no solution to the problem unless they authorities close it down or they actually address every single complaint against them and settle all outstanding issues then start a journey towards being a genuine trustworthy business. Unfortunately, things do not seem like they will change any time soon.

I don’t think 1xbit is a worthy discussion. We know they know we can’t kick them out of the forum. It’s obvious they do not care about their trust rating on bitcointalk, they get enough publicity outside the forum with zero or minimal confrontation. No one except us here at bitcointalk care about the illegal activities of 1xbit, they have zero confrontation on the other websites they advertise their casino. if you search on the internet “is 1xbit a scam” you will find a bitcointalk thread about 1xbit on the first page. That’s why the victims of 1xbit keep on coming here to lay their complaints forgetting that bitcointalk isn’t the official page of 1xbit.
2329  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: December 20, 2022, 06:44:26 PM
If I have this correctly, like Canada most European and Far Eastern countries probably have free medical covered by the state for their citizens but how would that differ from say a private medical health care system when in both circumstances the operations can only go ahead when a consultant agrees to it.

Yes the system is not perfect say in Canada if they control which surgeries you can have but surely the same applies to paid private medical insurance too. How can you as a patient dictate to a consultant which operation you should have and then convince them to sanction it on the basis you pay a monthly premium when a free service would also be operated by a consultant who would make a decision based on medical needs not cost cutting exercises.

Sorry, I have diverted away from the core issue about what you wrote in the OP but it is very upsetting to read that some rich nations are not providing universal free health care for all but are happy to spend their available funds elsewhere.

Regarding your own situation, if the complete process will cost over $1 million what percentage will the insurance company cover? I know you said it would be a good chunk but the definition is vague. Is around 90% correct? If so, that still leaves with a huge $100,000 to cover and it is painfully wrong on so many levels for someone to have to go through that stress when they are literally trying to have an operation to save their life (which in itself is extremely stressful).

One thing I have seen in this thread is the love and compassion that members have within them and are expressing it openly. I hope this is something we all can carry forward long after you have returned to full fitness post-operation.

I am speechless after reading the post. Regardless of what you yourself might say it really does take a lot of courage to put out that much of your private life out there to such a public and open forum. I sympathise with you in the situation you find yourself in.

In a country such as USA where medical care is not provided universally free, it makes you wonder why successive governments spend billion of USD$ on foreign aid and defence when they cannot look after their own citizens aptly.

I hope the operation is a success and hope to see you posting around the forum as you have so for many years.
Thank you. I have spoken with some from Canada where medical is paid for and it's not a perfect system. Apparently they can control what surgeries you can and cannot get. So Idk if I would like that or not. My surgery is going to cost over a million dollars but Insurance will cover a good chunk of that.
2330  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit Scam Accusation megathread. "Normal" modus operandi or shady practices? on: December 20, 2022, 06:20:36 PM
Here is a name that I had almost totally forgotten about. "Yobit" was a major problem within the forum for a significant period of time with their unbelievable returns on their almost monthly non-blockchain ICO/IEO tokens. If there ever was a ponzi within an exchange, this was it.

It is true the number of claims against them seem to have dropped as far as the forum is concerned, it will be very difficult to ascertain what the situation is with regards to the number of victims that have been generated by their scams.

For all those disappointed with the way England were knocked out of the tournament in Qatar (or those disappointed the world cup has finally ended), you have a short time to wait before the Premier League is back in action. The games restart on 26th December 2022. Time to forget about the world cup and look forward to the most exciting league in the world.

The larger the investment the better the returns even with a fractional increases but when Musk posts about it the pumps come in to play. Buying before the pumps then dumping before the price drops is key. I am happy for you being all-in at the moment but how do you know when to get in and out of Dogecoin?

Not often do I get the chance to say this, so I'm gonna say it:

Sure am glad to be all-in on Dogecoin right now  Cheesy

Usually there's a specific (*cough* Elon-related) reason for a DOGE pump but today bucks that trend.

Instead from what I gather people are attributing it to the recent interest of this guy Bill Pulte.

Don't know anything about him but he's going around giving away Dogecoin to people.

There is -5 in trust rating when I see the user in question and he has been on my ignore list for some time for pushing the 1xbut agenda. For anybody to make bold statements about 1xbit allegedly being the best or most reliable platform with that much certainty, their whole rationale for being present in the forum has to be called in to question.

All are advised to ~Newlifebtc and ignore.

Final:

Argentina 3-3 France
Argentina 4-2 won on penalties

I feel sorry for Mbappe, he was the player of the game and probably the player of the tournament. Imagine Giroud and Griezmann taking penalties, they would have been expected to score. The game was already lost when France fell 2-0 down but they nearly won it by making it 2-2. At 3-2 down they made it 3-3 but lost on penalties.

Well done to Argentina but I think Messi was overrated in the tournament and still think he is not to be considered anywhere near the great Maradona.
2336  Economy / Reputation / Re: It sucks that 1xbit still runs on: December 19, 2022, 11:06:41 PM
That situation has been ongoing for years and will probably remain without any form of resolution too. The 1xbit forum representative tried to address the accusations for a period of time updating the thread with information but in the end the number of complaints (genuine and fake) became too much for them to keep on posting about how they resolved the issues, countered them or addressed them.

Some may have withdrawn funds before getting scammed, not all were that fortunate.

There’s been an open allegation against them on the forum for a long time which is yet to be resolved but the company still goes about its business on the forum, opening new signature campaigns as if nothing’s happened. They are quite untouchable because scams are not moderated on the forum. It’s a tricky thing what to believe, @Saint-loup says he was able to withdraw his winnings from the casino successfully, other people may not be so lucky. some of the problems users are having with the casino are partly their own fault of not reading the T&C and the issues are not particular to 1xbit but other online casinos as well. But they have such a bad reputation that it's embedded in my mind that they are not to be trusted. Personally I wouldn't risk using this casino when there are reputable casinos.
2337  Economy / Reputation / Re: It sucks that 1xbit still runs on: December 17, 2022, 09:09:43 PM
As no group and no individual has taken legal action against them, I am beginning to think about the actual number of victims being much smaller than estimated because many of the allegations and accusations against 1xbit are without substance or evidence, mostly just newbie accounts complaining of scams. There is a probability 1xbit are still selective scamming but they have not resolved the open cases against them therefore cannot be trusted.

Several attempts have been made to try to discourage members from joining their campaigns and for them to stop displaying the 1xbit signature but as you said the website has not been shut down. If the victims form a group and take legal action as one, then it might be the way forward to try to actually bring an end to their business but there is no desire for victims to do it.

Here is my contribution to try to minimise the impact 1xbit are having in the forum and I would like to thank all those members that are trying to discourage 1xbit signature campaign participants from using the forum to promote them: REQUEST FOR ATTENTION OF: All 1xbit Signature Campaign Participants

Is there no effective legal action that can be taken on the 1xbit gambling platform instead of just telling people not to promote them? Is that all we can do? I am surprised this platform is still running till date.
2338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022 on: December 17, 2022, 08:34:19 PM
Croatia 2-1 Morocco

The penultimate game of the tournament has ended with Croatia ending in 3rd place. Well done to Morocco for a fantastic achievement to have got this far and being in 4th place. Congratulations to Croatia too, they were losing finalists in the previous world cup and losing semi-finalists this time.

Croatia will have to start thinking about a rebuild because by the time Euro 2024 tournament kicks-off in Germany, they will have an ageing team but they have time to be effective once more. As for Morocco, they have a younger team and time will tell if they can build on their success.

The final game of the tournament is tomorrow between Argentina and France. For me, France will win the game quite comfortably possibly by a two or three goal cushion. I will guess the final score to be Argentina 0-2 France and with that making France back-to-back world cup winners.
2339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022 on: December 16, 2022, 10:06:35 PM
The second from last game of the tournament is kicking-off on 17th December at Khalifa International Stadium:

Croatia vs Morocco

After the way the Moroccans played against France (compared to the way Croatia played against Argentina), I would say Morocco are favourites to win the game and end the tournament in 3rd place.

Croatia have done very well by reaching the 2018 World Cup final and reaching the 2022 world cup semi-final but they did not take their chances against Argentina in a game they should have won. The referee awarded a penalty to Argentina when he should not have done so and Croatia never managed to gt back in the game.

I know hindsight is one thing (people can learn from events after they took place) but the last time I looked there were many newbies offering to sell various things. I have no doubt a large number of those threads were designed scam newbies and those members not familiar with escrows or those members new to trading.

As horrible the experience has been for you, please do not let this instance detract you from posting in the forum. We have a wonderful ecosystem here, there are many different boards you can post in related to all sorts of things. I hope you put this incident down to lack of experience and you decide to stay around and become an active member in the community.

I wonder why you don't want to use an escrow service before making any transactions. You are also at fault. You take such steps in the hope of a little more profit and scammers take advantage of this to scam you. This seller is a reseller and he will keep charging you with various excuses but will not deliver the goods. Newbie account doesn't care if the reputation of this account goes down, he will create a new account and come back again for the purpose of scamming.

Tagged.
I agree 100%. My mistake, I read too little. I didn't even know that there was an ESCROW service.
