2321  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yobit Scam Accusation megathread. "Normal" modus operandi or shady practices? on: December 20, 2022, 06:20:36 PM
Here is a name that I had almost totally forgotten about. "Yobit" was a major problem within the forum for a significant period of time with their unbelievable returns on their almost monthly non-blockchain ICO/IEO tokens. If there ever was a ponzi within an exchange, this was it.

It is true the number of claims against them seem to have dropped as far as the forum is concerned, it will be very difficult to ascertain what the situation is with regards to the number of victims that have been generated by their scams.
2322  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: December 20, 2022, 12:13:00 AM
I am speechless after reading the post. Regardless of what you yourself might say it really does take a lot of courage to put out that much of your private life out there to such a public and open forum. I sympathise with you in the situation you find yourself in.

In a country such as USA where medical care is not provided universally free, it makes you wonder why successive governments spend billion of USD$ on foreign aid and defence when they cannot look after their own citizens aptly.

I hope the operation is a success and hope to see you posting around the forum as you have so for many years.

For all those disappointed with the way England were knocked out of the tournament in Qatar (or those disappointed the world cup has finally ended), you have a short time to wait before the Premier League is back in action. The games restart on 26th December 2022. Time to forget about the world cup and look forward to the most exciting league in the world.

The larger the investment the better the returns even with a fractional increases but when Musk posts about it the pumps come in to play. Buying before the pumps then dumping before the price drops is key. I am happy for you being all-in at the moment but how do you know when to get in and out of Dogecoin?

Not often do I get the chance to say this, so I'm gonna say it:

Sure am glad to be all-in on Dogecoin right now  Cheesy

Usually there's a specific (*cough* Elon-related) reason for a DOGE pump but today bucks that trend.

Instead from what I gather people are attributing it to the recent interest of this guy Bill Pulte.

Don't know anything about him but he's going around giving away Dogecoin to people.

There is -5 in trust rating when I see the user in question and he has been on my ignore list for some time for pushing the 1xbut agenda. For anybody to make bold statements about 1xbit allegedly being the best or most reliable platform with that much certainty, their whole rationale for being present in the forum has to be called in to question.

All are advised to ~Newlifebtc and ignore.

Final:

Argentina 3-3 France
Argentina 4-2 won on penalties

I feel sorry for Mbappe, he was the player of the game and probably the player of the tournament. Imagine Giroud and Griezmann taking penalties, they would have been expected to score. The game was already lost when France fell 2-0 down but they nearly won it by making it 2-2. At 3-2 down they made it 3-3 but lost on penalties.

Well done to Argentina but I think Messi was overrated in the tournament and still think he is not to be considered anywhere near the great Maradona.
2327  Economy / Reputation / Re: It sucks that 1xbit still runs on: December 19, 2022, 11:06:41 PM
That situation has been ongoing for years and will probably remain without any form of resolution too. The 1xbit forum representative tried to address the accusations for a period of time updating the thread with information but in the end the number of complaints (genuine and fake) became too much for them to keep on posting about how they resolved the issues, countered them or addressed them.

Some may have withdrawn funds before getting scammed, not all were that fortunate.

There’s been an open allegation against them on the forum for a long time which is yet to be resolved but the company still goes about its business on the forum, opening new signature campaigns as if nothing’s happened. They are quite untouchable because scams are not moderated on the forum. It’s a tricky thing what to believe, @Saint-loup says he was able to withdraw his winnings from the casino successfully, other people may not be so lucky. some of the problems users are having with the casino are partly their own fault of not reading the T&C and the issues are not particular to 1xbit but other online casinos as well. But they have such a bad reputation that it's embedded in my mind that they are not to be trusted. Personally I wouldn't risk using this casino when there are reputable casinos.
2328  Economy / Reputation / Re: It sucks that 1xbit still runs on: December 17, 2022, 09:09:43 PM
As no group and no individual has taken legal action against them, I am beginning to think about the actual number of victims being much smaller than estimated because many of the allegations and accusations against 1xbit are without substance or evidence, mostly just newbie accounts complaining of scams. There is a probability 1xbit are still selective scamming but they have not resolved the open cases against them therefore cannot be trusted.

Several attempts have been made to try to discourage members from joining their campaigns and for them to stop displaying the 1xbit signature but as you said the website has not been shut down. If the victims form a group and take legal action as one, then it might be the way forward to try to actually bring an end to their business but there is no desire for victims to do it.

Here is my contribution to try to minimise the impact 1xbit are having in the forum and I would like to thank all those members that are trying to discourage 1xbit signature campaign participants from using the forum to promote them: REQUEST FOR ATTENTION OF: All 1xbit Signature Campaign Participants

Is there no effective legal action that can be taken on the 1xbit gambling platform instead of just telling people not to promote them? Is that all we can do? I am surprised this platform is still running till date.

Croatia 2-1 Morocco

The penultimate game of the tournament has ended with Croatia ending in 3rd place. Well done to Morocco for a fantastic achievement to have got this far and being in 4th place. Congratulations to Croatia too, they were losing finalists in the previous world cup and losing semi-finalists this time.

Croatia will have to start thinking about a rebuild because by the time Euro 2024 tournament kicks-off in Germany, they will have an ageing team but they have time to be effective once more. As for Morocco, they have a younger team and time will tell if they can build on their success.

The final game of the tournament is tomorrow between Argentina and France. For me, France will win the game quite comfortably possibly by a two or three goal cushion. I will guess the final score to be Argentina 0-2 France and with that making France back-to-back world cup winners.
2330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022 on: December 16, 2022, 10:06:35 PM
The second from last game of the tournament is kicking-off on 17th December at Khalifa International Stadium:

Croatia vs Morocco

After the way the Moroccans played against France (compared to the way Croatia played against Argentina), I would say Morocco are favourites to win the game and end the tournament in 3rd place.

Croatia have done very well by reaching the 2018 World Cup final and reaching the 2022 world cup semi-final but they did not take their chances against Argentina in a game they should have won. The referee awarded a penalty to Argentina when he should not have done so and Croatia never managed to gt back in the game.

I know hindsight is one thing (people can learn from events after they took place) but the last time I looked there were many newbies offering to sell various things. I have no doubt a large number of those threads were designed scam newbies and those members not familiar with escrows or those members new to trading.

As horrible the experience has been for you, please do not let this instance detract you from posting in the forum. We have a wonderful ecosystem here, there are many different boards you can post in related to all sorts of things. I hope you put this incident down to lack of experience and you decide to stay around and become an active member in the community.

I wonder why you don't want to use an escrow service before making any transactions. You are also at fault. You take such steps in the hope of a little more profit and scammers take advantage of this to scam you. This seller is a reseller and he will keep charging you with various excuses but will not deliver the goods. Newbie account doesn't care if the reputation of this account goes down, he will create a new account and come back again for the purpose of scamming.

Tagged.
I agree 100%. My mistake, I read too little. I didn't even know that there was an ESCROW service.
2332  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have spent 100 days of my life logged on bitcointalk! on: December 16, 2022, 03:03:42 PM
Impressive!!! I don't think I've ever met such a vibrant, eclectic, diverse community.
I have been able to spend so much time and also be able to talk about a topic of this magnitude and complexity like nowhere... it was a pleasure, it is the pleasure as the first day I started this journey !

I wish you all a good stay on the forum (like mine)... and remember... we are all Satoshi Nakamoto.
You are a bundle of energy, I appreciate and like the way you are expressing all that positive energy. Stay positive and keep going, I hope you achieve more milestones very soon.

Even then, reaching post milestones is relatively easy, and could be done in a short period of time. I think the better way of measuring someone's achievements would be the impact they've had on others here. For example, there's a ton of users here that are known for what they've done to make this forum a better place. You only have to look at the community awards, and who gets nominated due to their achievements or impact that they've had.

Merit is another way; since that's generally only given for impactful or substantial posts.
I will take the global or English language boards, the problems with merits is that they are not distributed enough outside particular boards. I think merits should be a barometer for post quality but we have all seen excellent posts receive little to no merit and on the other hands we have also seen posts most members would not deem worthy of a second glance receive  receive excessive amounts of merits.

What if you tell us a little, bitter and sweet experiences during your 100 days at Bitcointalk.

for example:
• What has been most memorable for you during your 100 days here.
• What you've got for 100 days is here.
• And the best and worst thing I've ever felt while in Bitcointalk.

However, for now you've managed to do your best here both for 100 days, be it trading between communities and so on, bottom line: You spend your day and time here something useful for your own community, I wish you much success in Bitcointalk and beyond with what you get here, hope for you, as the days pass through the next 100 days you will gain more knowledge what you haven't got here.
Now this is an idea from YOSHIE and it would provide very good feedback for us to read the ups and downs involved when a members reaches any milestone.

The final two games of the tournament:

Saturday 17th December - Play-off
Croatia vs Morocco

Sunday 18th December - Final
Argentina vs France

Morocco put up a brave display with injured players but they kept believing and were close to causing an upset. Eventually France won 2-0 but Morocco can be proud of their achievements in this tournament. Croatia and Morocco play next.

France are looking to create history by becoming back-to-back world cup champions, the first since Brazil did it in 1958 and 1962. Argentina will try to stop them and win their own world cup since 1986.
2334  Economy / Reputation / Re: REQUEST FOR ATTENTION OF: All 1xbit Signature Campaign Participants on: December 15, 2022, 01:06:27 AM
Another campaign been launched today, they are going back strong this time after along rest. I think they are seeking for new victims for the end of the year. Warnings all over the forum but shitty posters doesn't seem to care about their trust
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5428047.msg61431928#msg61431928
They seem to going all out over the festive period to launch as many promotions as they can. If only they were a legitimate business they would have been raking in money. Unfortunately, they have turned their attention to selective scamming and that is where they lost their appeal.

They have two new campaigns running now

1x₿it.com | Ticket Rush Signature Campaign  Up to $100/week

1x₿it.com | The World Cup Adventure Signature Campaign Up to $100/week

They are World Cup-related this is expected just last year they had 3 campaigns runnings specifically for the holiday season they have a huge budget because they know gamblers are looking for a casino to bet for the World Cup, it's still early in the holiday month and expect more promotion and expect more complaints in the scam section against 1XBIT.
I wonder what the ratio of selective scamming of members drawn to world cup adventure games would be against their overall numbers. You might be on to something, when the tournament is over we will see if the complaints rise.

It's very tempting to join their campaign for some members because they can launch multiple campaigns besides their ongoing regular campaign if you have a hero or legendary account and a 5 month's campaign will get you $20k not bad even if you are tagged, the participants reasoning is they need a job and they cannot get in on other campaigns.
It depends on your morale if you are ok promoting and helping a casino to scam people.
I think those forum members desperate enough through difficult situations in domestic life would possibly be tempted along with the sock-puppets and paid shills. I can understand the reasons why some would like to join this campaign and to a degree sympathise with them.

If the complaints against 1xbit drop to near zero and they openly try to clear backlogs of complaints they would be heading in the right direction but for a long time that has not been the case.
2335  Economy / Reputation / Re: Neutral tag about my post quality on: December 14, 2022, 09:06:41 PM
Neutral feedback is fine. based on what was written, it seems that you were writing in a self-moderated gambling thread started by JollyGood. He must have deleted some of your posts. somehow I'm not very surprised, because it happened by Jolly, but to be honest all mega threads in gambling discussions are mostly spam and signature quota fulfilment.

I don't think it will affect your participation in the campaigns, at least not in those managed by experienced managers (you mentioned some of them). they will always first trust their judgment by looking at your post history, and only after that, they rely on the assessment of the importance of feedback on your trust page.
According to the OP, there was communication between himself and Royse777 (the campaign manager) before he sent me the PM. There is a lot more to this thread started than just someone finding it difficult to cope a neutral trust.

Wait for the BitcoinGirl.Club and dkbit98 to jump in to spout nonsense. Any opportunity no matter how pointless or ridiculous, is enough for these two individuals who just feel the urge to comment against me because i did not share their views in the Bitlucy/Royse777 scam threads Roll Eyes

In this case it's not fine for the campaign. There is another user in the same campaign who has same type of feedback. I am sure he is working on it too.

so you're just proving that this neutral feedback doesn't mean anything, because it's still firmly in your campaign. I guess the reason is not just because it is from JG, knowing your previous history of conflict.  Wink

As a manager, don't you check the post history, or rather accept members based on the trust rating on their profile?
As I said, there is more to this thread than just a member finding it difficult to cope with a neutral tag.

But this neutral tag with questioning your post quality is not something I would like to consider in the campaign participants feedback page. It's not a negative tag but it's directly questioning your post quality. The product of a signature campaigner is the posts they make and if the product itself is in question then it does not look nice especially when it's given by a DT status user and showing on trusted feedback section.

It makes no sense. As a campaign manager, you decide who to accept in the campaign and who not. Both joker_josue and NdaMk had a neutral tag on their profiles before signing up for your campaign. If you doubt the quality of their "product", then why did you accept them in the campaign in the first place?

Neutral feedback is fine.
In this case it's not fine for the campaign. There is another user in the same campaign who has same type of feedback. I am sure he is working on it too.

Are you sure this isn't just another drama involving you and JG? You don't seem to mind the neutral tags (with a negative connotation) from DireWolfM14, for example.
Though the OP may not have intended, the thread is being used a pretext to start another drama (as you put it). A campaign manager stating he has a problem with a neutral feedback on the profile of a member yet still employs him. Has this sort of drama happened before?

I know Royse777 tried to get Poker Player to remove the negative feedback he placed because of the Bitlucy/Royse777 scam and he did it by starting a thread After all I miss this board. I am not sure if the tactic is connected by according to the OP both he and Royse777 were in contact about the neutral tag and Royse777 allegedly wanted it removed. Coincidence? Maybe.

I know JG has been criticized for frivolous trust ratings, and deservedly so in some cases, but this ain't it. It's a neutral. Anybody can post a neutral for any reason, and using neutrals to comment on post quality is fine IMO.

Having said that, a sig campaign manager can interpret neutrals (or negatives/positives as well) any way they see fit, and a user can choose to join or not to join a sig campaign if they like/dislike that, so it's a non-issue either way. But it would be better to have such rules (e.g. "no neutral ratings from DT members") posted publicly instead of being applied ad hoc. Informed decisions FTW.
This campaign manager chose to select the OP for a campaign even though the neutral tag was there. Then wanted it removed because the campaign manager had a problem selecting someone with a neutral trust. This drama is over something frivolous and it has been manufactured to gain free publicity.

I'm surprised you got this kind of feedback. I would say that you are very far from those who create low-quality posts. But JollyGood, as always, has its logic, and publication in its topics suggests some incidents. I don't know what he wants to see as quality answers, but I would just skip JollyGood's self-moderated threads.
And as for managers, I think that to evaluate a user by the quality of his posts, it is enough to set aside some time to read his posts and form your own opinion on whether to accept the user into your company or not.
Your advice is perfect, the OP should in future skip my self-moderated threads if he makes low quality posts or drivel. And as deleting posts in self-moderated threads is at the discretion of the OP, he might for one reason or another have other posts deleted therefore he should avoid them too.

So here's the post where JollyGood think it's a low quality post.

It really can seem strange to see a team that recently won the Premier League, like Leicester, being in this situation.
But we have to be realistic, Leicester have never been a team at all in the table. It was always a team of ups and downs of devision.

To be honest JollyGood is right to say your post has a bad quality, your post doesn't contain any points. It's not surprising anymore a bad team can beat a good team especially on football. But if I look the other of your posts, I can say you're not a shitposter, actually you have a good quality post in general.
I cannot recall the exact circumstances surrounding the neutral tag or deleting that particular post but it was drivel. I will review his tag in a few months time, I will have no problem revising the tag after I read through some posts.

@OP suchmoon gave you a perfect explanation and you might consider locking this topic. No other explanation is going to be better and unless everyone ~Jollygood, he will remain on DT. My suggestion to JG would be that sometimes a user deserves to be heard well before 8-12 months, but if you get so many messages regarding a trust issue then you prob start giving the same i'll review it in 8-12 month response to move on.
Yes you are right. The 8-12 months will probably not apply here, I will look in to it earlier than that but not because the OP created a drama with this thread but because I already had a change of mind. It was only when I logged in to write a PM to him that I noticed this thread.

Still, since I am not vindictive I will not let this thread sway me negatively. I will review it earlier. The tag was to remind me that I should watch out for his low quality posts and delete them. He never noticed it all this time then all of a sudden noticed it then sent PMs a couple of days ago mentioning Royse777 effectively has a problem with it.

Your suggestion to lock the thread is the best advice the OP had in line with what suchmoon stated. The OP should lock the thread as it is now serving trolls and attention seekers who have no interest in the OP but will jump to spout nonsense against me whenever they get an opportunity because they have their own hidden agendas.

~
This type of tag, despite being neutral, jeopardizes the quality of my posts, which can make people who don't know me at all question my work.
And I think that yes, it's annoying, a person being limited in the opportunities they can enjoy because of someone else's misinterpretation or opinion.

There is no need to be upset about this. Although we would like all feedback to be based on concrete facts, this is unfortunately not always the case. Negative feedback may be based on feelings, assumptions or other reasons that are not necessarily related to your quality as a poster. But one single neutral feedback on your account has no impact whatsoever, let alone that it can jeopardize the quality of your posts. The only person who can damage the quality of your posts is you. As for your participation in sig. campaigns, I do not see a problem since no respectable campaign manager will base their judgment of the quality of your posts on that neutral tag but rather on your previous posting history. I am not sure what Royse777's criteria are, but he obviously felt you were qualified enough to be accepted into the campaign.
As you said there is nothing for the OP to be upset about.

The strange thing about Royse777 getting involved in this matter is he did so after selecting the OP to participate in a campaign and then telling him to have the feedback removed.

As mentioned, even if the OP wanted to start this thread for his own purposes it has been derailed by a couple of attention seekers using it to distract as they have their own personal agenda against me from when I posted against their views in the Bitlucy/Royse777 scam threads.
2336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FIFA World Cup 2022: Tournament Discussion Thread for Qatar 2022 on: December 13, 2022, 06:45:56 PM
So yeah..  Croatia double chance and BTTS combo at 3.07.  It's prolly less odds now as some money is coming in for Croatia.  I wonder what the likes of igehhh thinks or Trofo and Hhampuz.
I am not betting on both to score in Argentina - Croatia match. Argentina has some of the lowest xG conceded in the tournament and Croatia hasn't really been that good in attack. We were very good in taking our chances but we did not create that much chances. This game could end up 0:0 in regular time easy, I know we believe in our ability to take up anybody on penalties and I think we would take those penalties all the way to the final without complains. That means it is all up to Argentina and I don't see them going all in as well.
This game will not be heading to extra time or penalties. I am backing Croatia to make back-to-back world cup finals (2018 and 2022). If they did it, what an unbelievable achievement it would be considering their population is less than 4 million.

What would be the odds on that?

I do not understand why people want lower level teams to win the cup, like I get that you may like Morocco individually, but this isn't the deal, most people just want a team that is underdogs to win.

What kind of news does that give to kids and people all around, all kinds of wrong thing is said there, you could work hard, train hard, be the best you can be, the greatest paid athlete and all, and you could lose to some guys who just got lucky or whatever. That's not okay, I feel like France is the biggest left, and they should win, because they have done everything right so far until at this moment and I believe that worths something if you ask me.
People expect the stronger or better team to go through to the next stage on paper but in reality even a smaller team can play an outstanding game and shock the bigger nations. Usually neutrals nearly always back the underdogs and that is what makes the sport better.
2337  Other / Archival / Re: What a wonderful merit overflow on: December 12, 2022, 03:10:49 PM
But the case mentioned in the op is totally different. The user usually does not give merit to any account and also came back a lot of times later on the forum.

User coldice woke up exactly on the day when he needed to transfer 34 merits to his (possibly) alt account. After that, he didn't come back. There would be fewer questions if the coldice account behaved like a normal user, being active before or after the 34 merits spill. Now, his behavior can easily be regarded as a bot account, which was connected precisely in order to transfer 34 merits to another account. His actions are clearly not like he just happened to find HunnyFinance's post and gave it merit because he thought it was a good post. No, he woke up only in order to transfer HunnyFinance measures according to a previously agreed plan, and then again went offline for a long time.
I have to say it does not look good when you put it that way. Waking up to merit is not a good sign.

So here's my side of the story and I sincerely hope that my explanation to end this thread peacefully.

I knew coldice for a long time since way back. Coldice was one of my first few "friends" on bitcointalk and has been good help in advising me on how to do things with crypto. I know that he has been helping people to post threads and doing some other trading businesses in crypto.

Hunny project started as a DeFi project around mid 2021. I needed to venture into this forum so I asked him to help. My account is not credible and strong enough to start post with images and do campaigns.

And he did helped to post a few of our project ANN and Promotions threads. That is why you saw some of the not so popular postings by him as mentioned in the forum

But I was astounded when his account was also promoting scam and got a few RED FLAG ALERTS. So when I read my threads, the red flag suggesting that its a scam on top of his account was so prominent that I told him to remove all my posts he had posted for me.

It was a really a turn off for me as it potentially tarnished my branding and I felt very disappointed in him as I trusted him so much...

A few months ago my team decided to venture into bitcointalk and I started talking to coldice again to ask for advise again. Only this time, I would like to post the threads myself. I was still very upset with him, and he was very guilty with all the projects that he had ruined(and ruined his own account apparently). So he wanted to give me a headstart boost on my bitcointalk account(That's where you saw this +34 merits). I have no idea what merits can help but its seems hard enough to get.

What matters most is HunnyPlay is a legit running business that already been running for more than 1 year, and isn't a shady startup project like how coldice "accidently" helped others to push.

We are here all here to run businesses and not to push scam. I know bitcointalk is an important place for me to meet fellow gamblers and project owners. I hope you guys won't deprive me from having the opportunity to come back to this forum again and meet people and share my projects.

If the accounts are operated by the same person then there is an issue because the merits went from one account to an alt-account. If HunnyFinance paid to be merited then that is a different matter but another serious one. However if there is no connection except coldice simply gave away merits to a post that seemed to not deserve it, there is no blame on part of HunnyFinance.

The part that causes concern is HunnyFinance stating they knew coldice.  Maybe a reply from HunnyFinance with screenshots of their PM conversations with coldice would help clarifying the situation.

I do not have the answer to tackle the problem of fake or highly dubious reviews but I think accusations of fake reviews have been made on Amazon as well as on other online shopping websites too. Due-diligence should be applied before trusting any review in any website.

Then how Trustpilot and other casino review or gambling rating sites would solve out this case? If they are really that too tight or needs up some screening or proofs before can post some feedback then it would

really be just a hassle thing which i dont really see any possible thing to solve out this case. All of people does have the chance on posting up feedbacks whether it is really paid or came from into their competitors.
Its really just sad that there are lots of newbies who do really fall out for these kind of ratings which they do read up the positive ones and ends up on having deposits
on sites which does have lots of complaints.

This is why i cant really trust up these rating or review sites whenever they do have lots of trust. Its always been suggestable that you should really
make further in depth research before depositing.

Here are the fixtures for the semi-finals:

Many neutrals would have put down current world champions France to make another semi-final but how many at the beginning of the tournament would have guessed Morocco would be flying the flag for the African continent becoming the first African nation to make it to a world cup semi-final or that Croatia would be here again alongside Argentina?

Not many people would have got all four teams correct  Grin

It was very sad to see Portugal knocked out of the tournament in this manner but Morocco deserved the win. Ronaldo was introduced in the second half but Morocco were in their stride with momentum on their side. Ronaldo hardly touched the ball and did have one half chance shit which was directed at the goalkeeper.

Morocco already made history but make more when play France next. On the other hand, the Portugal team are returning home.

What a heart breaking loss for Portugal, didn’t expect them to lose like this.
I really wonder their reason to bench out CR7 in the first place. Well, so many shocking result for this world cup and its history in the making for Morocco. After beating Spain now they beat Portugal to go into the semis, they are pretty solid and on fire this world cup, France have to be more prepared this time.
