1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: @RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC. on: April 17, 2023, 11:32:18 AM
According to the article his sentence was: one year and one day in prison for charges related to executing a scheme to steal more than 51,680 Bitcoin

Now considering he had over 51,000 BTC in his possession from the theft, that 1 year sentence seems very light especially when it comes to mind he managed to avoid being caught for 10 years.

If it is a learning process, maybe with a few tweaks you may find ways to contain them otherwise as you said the bigger dedicated server might help when you migrate. If the intensity of the attacks is growing then you will have to remain vigilant. I have not used Whirlwind since my review but checked recently on TOR and the website loads without problems.

If your latest DDoS protection is holding up and providing adequate protection from any possible attack without using any 3rd party software then that is good. When I last visited the clearnet website earlier today to see if the page loads, it took a long time before the 5 second DDoS countdown loaded and after that it took well over a minute for the page to load before I gave up.

Eventually this message showed. Is it because the website is really under maintenance or because that is the new default message when the website is under DDoS:
It looks like it's not holding up, so please use the Tor version for now. Please keep in mind that no matter if the clearnet version is offline, the Tor version will always work flawlessly.

We tried solving the issue only through software updates, and for a while we did, but the intensity of the attack is growing by the day and the current clearnet VPS is way too weak and cannot handle it. We will upgrade to a much bigger dedicated server and we expect the issues to be solved at least to a certain degree after that.

I have to thank you for the link to the post by Darker45 . Yes I did not go through the thread at all, except for reading the OP and took his word for it. It did not even cross my mind that he (or anyone else) could have been making up his 7 year claim.

uche6215: you have made a total of 3 posts in this thread including the OP claiming you have been investing ion Bitcoin for 7 years. You skipped past all the posts and ignoring them that were asking you to provide evidence of your claim. Can you explain?

If you made this up as a means to try to receive merits you have failed because you did not receive even one. On the other hand, I have added you to my distrust list and maybe others have or will too on top of the neutral feedback for deception, therefore maybe starting this thread was a mistake on your part. If I am wrong please post here with evidence of your claim or at least respond directly to comments made in this thread.

Are you part of a farm account which was trying to build up accounts either for joining signature campaigns or for some future nefarious undertakings?

Let's see my friend, have you stopped to analyze the thread? I don't think so. Good thing there are some of us who are fed up with the threads of supposed investors who claim to have invested in Bitcoin and things like that that when you do a minimum analysis do not hold up.

In this case I didn't even need to do the analysis, Darker45 did it on the first page.

There are so many threads of this style in the forum, usually in BD with made up stories, that are a pest.
1644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: April 17, 2023, 08:41:15 AM
Arsenal were winning 0-2 at Liverpool last week but they ended up drawing the game 2-2 and only survived because their goalkeeper saved them. Liverpool had chances to win but the Arsenal goalkeeper was in great form. Yesterday, Arsenal were winning 0-2 at West Ham and did the same thing. They drew the game 2-2 but West Ham had chances to win.

Arsenal need a win against Southampton otherwise their title challenge will probably be over because Manchester City will be favourites to be crowned Premier League champions.

@JollyGood it’s clear that Arsenal are crumbling under pressure, and if City win their remaining game then they’ll be under severe pressure and might go on to lose the top spot too. Also Manchester United won this game and they completely dominated Forest, and now it starting to look like Manchester United may hold on for the third spot in the premier league.

Though they are still probably selective scamming but I believe not all accusations made against them are genuine. Those pockets you refer to or shall we say some newbies post here claiming they were scammed but when they are asked to post screenshots (or any transaction id) not all are willing to do it.

We still see a pocket of few complaints here in this thread, but then we keep on letting them know how hopeless they can be when it comes to 1xbit cases, and try to advise them to move on and avoid that site.

Congratulations. I wish you success in your journey along the Bitcoin road.

Throughout the 7 years that you have been investing you must have had many moments when you made losses or were facing the prospect of losses yet here you are posting about the anniversary. I hope the next 7 years brings you more success and more wealth.

Good day everyone I am here to announce that today has made me my 7th year as a Bitcoin investor, I am the happiest person today because Bitcoin has given me a lot of gains through investments.
1647  Economy / Reputation / Re: How secure are you when unknown user chats you up? on: April 16, 2023, 11:20:52 PM
I wonder how many people still fall for those types of scams nowadays? Without a doubt it must be bringing in some sort of income for them otherwise they would have disappeared. The medium changed from emails to instant messenger and scammers still attempt it trying to stay one step ahead of the curve.

Using a photo of a beautiful girl and starting small talk is an old motif that is commonly known by many. Scammers don't start the conversation to the point, they will make the atmosphere more fluid and when he believes you are starting to get trapped he will direct you to things that drain the contents of the wallet.
Lucky you quickly realize it, he started to leave before the main mission launched. If you have never shared your telegram with anyone you don't know, be aware they may be part of some bad people who are looking for victims.

Thank the members of this forum who constantly warn others from getting scammed by this so call 1xbit who have done more harm than good in the gambling industry.
Thankfully there are many members that constantly post in the scam accusation board and in other threads to warn others about the dangers of engaging with some websites and companies out there.

If the clients they got came exclusively from outside the forum then it would make sense for them to stop advertising here as they seem to obtain no obvious benefit with their signature campaign and ANN thread.

But since this is not what we observe then another explanation needs to be given, and as nonsensical as this may seem it is possible they still get enough clients through the forum to justify their permanency here.
Maybe they feel they are getting some sort of publicity either way and are not concerned because they will never be able to repair the damage. Their constant attempts at trying to run signature campaigns in somewhat strange in my opinion.

So on that note, I will like to advise that whoever wishes to gamble on any new casino should endeavour to do extensive research before depositing a penny.
That is the best advice for all. What we all should do is to carry out our own due-diligence before we send funds to any website.
1649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: April 16, 2023, 02:36:17 PM
RESULT: West Ham United 2-2 Arsenal

At one stage the game was in favour or Arsenal as they were winning 0-2 after just 10 minutes but one goal each side of half-time made it 2-2. Well done to West Ham for fighting back get a draw and a vital point for them but Arsenal also receive a point when they were on course to get 3 points. When the score was 1-2 Saka missed a penalty for Arsenal which would have made the score 1-3.

Arsenal have now played one game more than Manchester City and are four points ahead at the top of the league table. If Manchester City win that game in hand they will be just one point behind Arsenal.

There is one game remaining today: Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United

1650  Economy / Reputation / Re: How secure are you when unknown user chats you up? on: April 16, 2023, 02:21:03 PM
There are very determined individuals and groups that are using all sorts of apps as well as social media to try to have people (victims) send money to them.

I lost count of the number of times myself and people I know were contacted by strangers saying they were multimillionaires in waiting who needed $10,000 or $5,000 to pay for legal fees in order to claim their inheritance and they said they would return the amount with a bonus.

Your advice about accidentally disclosing private information is something that is a real possibility therefore engaging with determined scammers is probably not recommended even if you are confident like Igebotz mentioned here.

Even here, I would be too pessimistic. You can call me a sociopath, but the people on the internet are not the people we meet offline. It all depends on the size of the victim. Scammers can seem like decent people for a very long time, and you can even do some business with them, but one day, something unforeseen will happen when a decent person turns into a very professional scammer.
Therefore, all other people's letters and other people's proposals that come from strangers must either be filtered with a magnifying glass or completely ignored.
I would even go so far as to say that chatting via telegram and accidentally clicking on links can lead to the full disclosure of your identity, and further problems can be expected as a result.

Eventually this message showed. Is it because the website is really under maintenance or because that is the new default message when the website is under DDoS:

Is it possible that is simply comes down to one competitor trying to cause disruption to another? Even though that would seem the most ridiculous of explanations could that actually be the most plausible?
I wouldn't point fingers at anyone including our competitors, even if that's the case it's still irelevant to us. We have the knowledge to deal with it without using 3rd parties and it seems that for now our DDoS protection works very well. After the latest updates we didn't experience any more downtime.
1652  Economy / Reputation / Re: 5 Years, 5000 Merit and 7000 Posts. on: April 16, 2023, 08:54:00 AM
No need to delete your topic in my opinion. I agree to JollyGood here, that new topics about achievements should be eligible to create. If there's no obvious intention of aggressive Merit fishing because OP can't get Merit by normal posts (which is clearly not the case for mikeywith), new achievements topics should be eligible.  Smiley
You are right 1miau. Anyway, that dedicated thread was created not that long ago under the guise of reducing spam and/or reducing announcements that we remade in the hope of receiving merits but personally I would not bother posting in it if I wanted to announce anything and many others have continued to ignore it by posting their announcements in their own newly created threads.

The situation changes of-course if the forum admins create a dedicated thread for members to make their personal announcements. If they did then it is fine we all should post our milestones and rank-up and other announcements in that admin created dedicated thread but since that did not happen there is definitely no obligation for members to post in any thread that any member creates and states it is for this reason or it is for that reason.

Just to remind you that I never spoke of an obligation, I think it is not necessary to quote myself, you can see my post above
I did not quote you, there is a misunderstanding. I merely advised the OP there was no obligation to post in any dedicated thread (because it was not set up by admins as a rule) and that he was more than welcome to post about what he wanted. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm the type of guy who talks to them until they run out of words, then tells them to fck off and blocks them.
If you have some time on your hands it probably would have been a good way to spend a few hours chatting away until either you or the scammer (who is pretending to be a woman) gets bored  Grin

1654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: @RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC. on: April 15, 2023, 01:02:04 PM
I think you have it backwards: the deal was loaded's BCH for Ver's BTC. Interestingly, loaded sold all his BCH fork proceeds for BTC. As @Rampion hinted, loaded probably got spooked when he saw that Reddit was investigating the source of his funds.
Yes, sorry, I made an error when writing. The proposed deal was for the BCH the OP held to trade with the BTC that Ver held. Thank you for correcting me.

Loaded still never replied to me at all despite my contacting him numerous times.  That shows his intentions were dishonest from day one.
Well now we know this probably wasn't the case.
I remember posting in the thread a short while after the deal was proposed by the OP. Time really gone by fast.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/60ozkh/rogerver_lets_make_a_deal_1_for_1_trade_at_least/

bitcoin-cli signmessage 19Mz2o9RDABT74SA9njZqMtJXKEzj2qUoH '@RogerVer lets make a deal, 1 for 1 trade. At least 60k, possibly up to 130k, my BTU for your BTC.'

So Ver OBVIOUSLY declined !!

Talk about Ver believing in Bitcoin Cash so much so that he cannot even get himself to sell ALL his Bitcoins now, or to have exchanged them when the fork was made.

Why make the fork and bad mouth Bitcoin so much when he cannot part with it?

 Grin

Wow so it seems Loaded made the thread and then got Ver interested but then when Ver came back to conclude the deal it was Loaded who pulled out and refused to answer Ver?

We don't know who backed out. Roger said that Loaded backed out, but Roger says a lot of things. He says that Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin for instance which is clearly not true.
1655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: @RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC. on: April 15, 2023, 12:27:32 PM
It would have been a highly complex exchange because who would escrow or ensure the coins were traded? I think it was something that would not have taken place even if both parties wanted because it would probably be impossible to arrange. It would have been the largest ever crypto escrow based on trust between the senders and escrow. For example, who would send first? Who would be trusted to work as escrow?

What would have happened to Ver if he had managed to swap his BCH for BTC the OP was asking to trade? At worst would it simply be a case of handing over the BTC to lawful enforcement agencies and then receive his BCH back or would it be something else? After all, if the exchange went ahead as far as Ver would have been concerned he was making a 1:1 BCH/BTC trade.

Bumping this thread now that loaded is set to be sentenced tomorrow (see: https://www.wsj.com/articles/bitcoin-blockchain-hacking-arrests-93a4cb29)

Roger was lucky Zhong didn't follow up (he probably got scared because of this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6bcccp/loadeds_coins_trace_back_to/) - otherwise he would have ended up double rekt.

When you look at the feedback that has been accumulated by the 1xbit/1xbit1 scammers it makes you wonder why they continue to use this forum especially as their reputation has been torn to shreds:

One benefit for potential victims by finding this forum is that they have been warned. Others unfortunately find this forum to complain about the 1xbit/1xbit1 websites after they have had their funds seized.

1657  Economy / Reputation / Re: 5 Years, 5000 Merit and 7000 Posts. on: April 15, 2023, 12:06:14 PM
There is no obligation to post in any dedicated thread to announce anything. Nowadays when a thread of this sort appears someone will comment about posting in the dedicated threads but I see no real reason to oblige. Some have flooded in the hope of receiving merits (which clearly is not the case here).

We have not interacted much previously but I have seen some of your posts. I wish you success and prosperity in your next 5 years and beyond  Smiley

There is a thread dedicated  ".

Oh snap, I did not see that, I will try to delete this thread and post in the thread you linked. Thanks

Well, maybe search engines have still indexed it but it seems the website is no longer functioning: https://coinpaycard.net

I feel sorry for the victims. I do not know how much the scammer managed to get away with but as the website was only around for a short period of time hopefully the number of victims and their losses will be minimal.

Yeah well you see, Google goes to bed with governments. They don't care about what plebs like us have to report, as long as they won't get in legal trouble for not taking any action.

there have been a few newspapers that have disclosed the news, but mostly they have been sites and provincial newspapers, I must say that even some excellent newspapers have talked about it such as "ilsole24ore" or even "il Corriere della Sera". but despite this he hasn't made all this media noise
It is good this news went to those publications you mentioned but it is strange it not receive more attention.

This sort of news should have been much larger and on mainstream media because losing €15-20 million in any business is news. It could be that because many people still do not understand crypto that it did not make big headlines.

I read the transcripts that Lillominato published and there are some really scandalous things, people were selling crypto to cover the holes and pay the EURO cashouts.
Crazy, really embarrassing management.
After the investigations are completed there could be criminal charges. The money lost has been a disaster and setback for investors. I feel sorry for them.
