1761  Economy / Reputation / Re: How wide reaching can the consequences of Chipmixer money laundering be? on: March 20, 2023, 09:50:24 AM
Nobody knows how much money the Chipmixer owner has access to or even where he is currently hiding but apart from getting caught or surrendering, what other options are there? If he is looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life it cannot be good for both physical and mental health regardless of the amount of funds he might have access to.

He should consider preparing a legal defence team (he probably has enough funds to hire the best legal experts) and then make a deal with the US authorities to find a solution.

I cannot recall properly but was the main reason scammer Paul Vernon the owner/operator of Cryptsy exchange never arrested because he ended up in China out of the way of US extradition treaties?

Why are you so sure that he will either get caught or surrender? Its obviously not easy to reach this guy because if it was, wouldn't they actually track him and arrest first before going public with all this and giving him an opportunity to run.
1762  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🔥 Vile Chipmixer Bounty Abuse 🔥 Probably the Biggest Con Job on Bitcointalk on: March 20, 2023, 09:37:46 AM
I remember when that whole saga was unfolding. All of a sudden out of nowhere it was noticed several members of the Turkish community were involved in what can only be described as dubious merit awarding while they wanted to get to DT.

Thankfully it was down to just a handful of trolls who were unbelievably upset at not being selected for the Chipmixer signature campaign that went on to attack the campaign manager and spread rumours about the forum too: @theymos: False allegations made against theymos and BCT forum - by Vispilio

The far majority of the Turkish community were and are contributing to the good of the forum and are an important part of the ecosystem.

It's cringeworthy how desperate the members of the Turkish community were to join the Chipmixer signature campaign and how embarrassing it was that they were prepared to collude with the DT 1 Trolls here to vote down certain unaffiliated members who aren't in any gangs.
1763  Economy / Reputation / Re: 🔥 [Defamation] At Its Worst During ChipMixer Applications 🔥 on: March 20, 2023, 01:26:23 AM
The attitude he has shown stems from either he and/or his buddies that applied to join the Chipmixer signature campaign, were rejected. I cannot recall seeing that much aggression against a campaign manager simply because he refused to select certain applicants. If I remember correctly I applied maybe 3 times the last probably in 2020 but was rejected like many others but they did not seem to have the aggression shown by members of a certain local board.

I believe he is trying to imply that intelligence agencies care about the drama surrounding him and whatever problem he had with the manager of the manager of CM.

At first, I thought he was going to imply those who wore the signature and the avatar of CM were going to be prosecuted because of their participation in advertisement of such service (which sounds rather ridiculous, in my opinion), but then he lost the plot and started to talk about corruption of the campaign and trust abuse.

I personally doubt the FBI/Interpol cares on our local drama and grudges, but to be completely fair I am not an agent, so I can't be 100% sure of it.  Tongue

There goes your tax-dollars in action.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ ENGLISH FA CUP 2022/23 TOURNAMENT - Discussion Thread on: March 20, 2023, 01:11:31 AM
Results of the quarter-final games:

Manchester City 6-0 Burnley
Sheffield United 3-2 Blackburn Rovers
Brighton and Hove Albion 5-0 Grimsby Town
Manchester United 3-1 Fulham

These are the semi-final fixtures:

Saturday 22nd April
Brighton and Hove Albion vs Manchester United
Manchester City vs Sheffield United

There has never been an all Manchester FA Cup final before, this year it might happen. Brighton and Sheffield United have done well to get this far, it would be a spectacular moment if they managed to be the finalists.
1765  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: March 20, 2023, 01:05:55 AM
Maybe the disk size hosting package was 7TB and there was nominal size data on it after the OS and updates were added and the vast majority of the 7TB was empty disk space. It is possible it was something completely different, we simply do not know. All I know is that there is no need for anybody to believe the owner of Chipmixer would not have backed up keys or mixed coin data.

Have you ever thought that these 7TB could refer to contents of other projects that the owner of ChipMixer had?

But even if it does, do you think that in 10 years of running the mixer, it would generate 7TB of transaction logs? I honestly have serious doubts, just look at the size of the Bitcoin blockchain, which is around 500GB. Of course, that doesn't mean that in the middle of those 7TB there are some logs.
1766  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: March 19, 2023, 07:23:52 PM
There are several possible scenarios but what is in the 7TB data is one of the missing pieces. Would it really be impossible to presume the owner of Chipmixer decided to keep a log of every single transaction that he facilitated? Just because he said he did not back up any data or store any keys does not mean he was true to his word.

We simply do not know what the owner of Chipmixer was doing with any data that passed through his servers but at worst case scenario he kept a log of almost everything.

What if they were generating private keys from a single seed stored on their server, not necessarily keeping them one by one on purpose? Maybe they actually did delete the sessions but weren't smart enough to not generate them from a single (kept) key? The police could then just generate as many keys as they can with that one seed on the server...? Tongue

Last time when the police seized a DNM, they actually spent some time as a MITM collecting information and they announced that publicly. Maybe if CM kept logs they would also tell the public about it?
1767  Other / Meta / Re: Should the forum stop advertising mixers? on: March 19, 2023, 07:17:31 PM
This is not directed at any member in particular but if there are members here that begrudge the manner in which some of those wearing particular signatures have behaved in the past, it is understandable from their perspective why they would find it difficult to feel any remorse for them at losing what has been a lucrative signature income over many years. Sadly, maybe some here would even raise a smile at the demise of Chipmixer and subsequent loss of signature campaign income for some participants (which is quite an awful thing to do in my opinion) but that is the nature of the forum. There are varying opinions across the boards and they all have a right to their opinion.

About your warnings to the community about Chipmixer, I did not know about you making them but if you sounded the alarm and it was ignored what more could you do? By what you are saying it seems you tried your best but others were not convinced. I do not know what happened in your circumstance related to warning others about Chipmixer but from what I have seen elsewhere it is not easy to bring forward a differing point of view in any subject/capacity when opposition is strong, especially if they are driven by financial greed to oppose.

You also have to accept some members that participated in the Chipmixer signature campaign thought they were promoting a privacy service and were shocked that money laundering allegations have been made against a service they promoted.

The issue is chipmixer has been accused of breaking multiple laws in multiple countries.

People rented signature space.

bitcointalk did not stop it.

Do I think this means action against bitcointalk no.
do i think this means action against signature campaigners no.

But do I think it could happen yes it could.

Hope it does not. As I do not begrudge people that did it.

I begrudge them a little bit. Ignoring that many of them have attacked me for years for donating funds to NastyFans, claiming it was all sorts of things, meanwhile they’ve been promoting an illegal money laundering service for scammers here to clean their stolen funds for their own profits. Adding insult to injury, when I warned them the DOJ was closing in on Chipmixer, many responded by distrusting me on the forum’s trust network for sounding the warning about their promotion of illegal activity. Now that I was right and they were wrong, any apologies for their attacks or levied punishments against me for being right? Nope, just more insults. At the very least these people had bad judgement and sold out for money, assisting scammers on a site they claim to be trying to make safer.
1768  Economy / Reputation / Re: How wide reaching can the consequences of Chipmixer money laundering be? on: March 19, 2023, 07:11:49 PM
Well they will have to catch him first. Afaik he is still at large and with the amount of money he (probably) has, he can stay hidden for quite a while. Or I misunderstood something and they got him already?
At the moment the news appears to be that the whereabouts of the owner of Chipmixer remains unknown. Maybe he has enough funds to remain hidden from any authorities chasing him but at some point he will end up getting caught or he will surrender voluntarily.

Do you think there could be any sort of plea bargain offered?

Chipmixer allegedly laundered approximately $3 billion but if the owner of Chipmixer is privy to certain information that could get criminals arrested (or if he has a vast amount of crypto from those mixes that he is willing to hand over) then it makes this case even more interesting.
1769  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: SPONSORED BY UTOPIA: $25 prize in the FA Cup Final competition on: March 19, 2023, 02:25:37 PM
Thank you shasan for addressing the question asked by notblox1.

Manchester City qualified for the semi-final yesterday after they beat Burnley. Sheffield United have qualified today after they beat Blackburn Rovers therefore these are the two confirmed semi-finalists. We are now waiting for the results in the other two games taking place today (Brighton and Hove Albion vs Grimsby Town and also Manchester United vs Fulham)

Later this evening the FA Cup semi-finals draw will be made, I will update the thread either this evening or tomorrow with full instructions on how to participate in the competition. I hope it will be as fun and active as the other lottery and competition threads were:

Win c.$50 on Free Lottery#1 JollyGood-Ratimov-Utopia: Fury vs Usyk
SPONSORED BY UTOPIA: $25 prize in the Carabao Cup Final competition

A special thank you has to be given to Utopia for making the prize funds available and also to Ratimov who has added his personal money to increase the prize fund for the Fury vs Usyk competition thread.

Where are instructions how to make predictions?
Probably you have not gone to the details of the post. In the post, you can see that full instructions should be updated once the semifinal ended. Once the semi-final is ended team for the final race will be selected. And then anyone can be able to take part in a team. Please see the quote below:
Once the semi-final fixtures have been announced, this thread will accept entries for the competition and will explain full rules of entry.

1770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: March 18, 2023, 08:44:20 PM
RESULTS:

Aston Villa 3-0 Bournemouth
Brentford 1-1 Leicester City
Southampton 3-3 Tottenham Hotspur
Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-4 Leeds United
Chelsea 2-2 Everton

Both Tottenham and Chelsea dropped points, somewhat unexpectedly. Well done to Everton to get a point as they try to fight off a serious relegation threat. The same for Southampton, they got a vital point at home against a strong Tottenham team as they are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

It does seem as though he has a theory of his own but is keeping quiet and he is definitely not a newbie.

Guys...any explaination for this  ?

I see that they moved funds that were generated in 2019 !!!! also ...  funny! that's their old system , on Legacy bitcoin network not seg network!

Yes.. you already posted that information once  (like 8 hours ago.. at the time of this post... here).. .

Do you have some kind of a theory or hypothesis?

Apparently you must have something, otherwise you wouldn't have had brought it up.

You don't seem like a spring chicken.  #justsaying

What's your attempt at an "explanation?"  Anything?
1772  Economy / Reputation / Re: How wide reaching can the consequences of Chipmixer money laundering be? on: March 18, 2023, 05:34:32 PM
I have been reading various comments posted in the forum in the past where Chipmixer was alleged to have been a honeytrap. Some of the conspiracy theorists even said the forum was purchased by big corporations and are using it for nefarious purposes:

@theymos: False allegations made against theymos and BCT forum - by Vispilio

Until you mentioned it I probably never heard of Ghostery but as with all browser add-ons they can read your browsing history and do much more.

Regarding NordVPN, there have been rumours about them too but they have passed annual security audits regularly. As for Protonmail, apart from the time they gave the IP address to the French authorities of the person in question and when it was leaked in the media Proton clarified their position by saying they were compelled by Swiss law to hand the information over to the French police but said if the person in question had used a VPN they would have given that IP address instead.

Proton also seem to have kept certain metadata and other information which was not encrypted. Proton also said the email content was encrypted and not released to the French police. Since then there are not any rumours about their email or VPN service but they removed their no IP logging claim.

Still, I would advise to take caution and to not put blind trust in any online company.

What if I told you protonmail was just another FBI trap to lure the criminals in? How do you know they aren't?

Here is another example:

There was a browser plugin called "ghostery". It was supposed to stop google from collecting your data and guess what happened... They logged your information instead and sold them to another 3rd party (at least that's what I've read about them)
https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/1gmxdz/consumer_affairs_ghosterys_shady_sells_your_data/

Quote
Ghostery is a widget users can install in their web browsers, and it's made by a company called Evidon.

Evidon helps companies that want to improve their use of tracking code by selling them data collected from the 8 million Ghostery users who have enabled the tool's data sharing feature
https://www.businessinsider.com/evidon-sells-ghostery-data-to-advertisers-2013-6

What about NordVPN?

I am damn sure I read something about them not being as anonymous as they advertise themselves to be. Let's pretend I didn't. Would you trust NordVPN's services if you were into any illegal shit?

The moral of the story here is you cannot trust any service or any company which claims to protect your privacy. You are just making yourself an easy target especially if you are dealing with any kind of shady shit. They will let you watch porn and pretend you aren't jerking off to it and that's it. Even watching porn might get you into trouble depending on the type you are into.

Believing that protonmail is a safe privacy email service is like believing everything the TV tells you.  Grin

- This is the most anonymous email service!
+ Why? How do you know?
- Are you blind? It says it on its cover!!

Be very careful what you wish for, after all, Chipmixer was allegedly used by criminals to launder $3 billion and you do not want those criminals start using Coinomize for illegal purposes.

Personally, I think it is just a matter of time before all mixers will be used for money laundering by dangerous criminals therefore various international law enforcement agencies will take action to close down mixer websites and will seek the arrest of mixer owners.

Are you worried your website could soon be seized by the FBI and an arrest warrant could be issued for your arrest?

Coinomize is happy to welcome all Chipmixer customers Smiley

This is a handy service provided by NotATether and good to see members in the forum offering a varying degree of services. Going by the images of your recent work posted in the thread, you will not have to wait long before members start approaching you with work.

Adobe is not the only large company that does not accept prepaid Mastercard and VISA. I hope this and associated services you offer will generate enough for you to pay for the CC subscription working around the prepaid card issue.

I'm using Photoshop CC 2023. Unfortunately, it is pirated, because Adobe won't accept any of my prepaid cards and also because I also need this for work. I'd really like to pay for it, but it is what it is Sad

Eventually, I will find a way to get the CC subscription, but only if this service succeeds, as $20/month becomes expensive fast. I am planning to expand it to beyond background erasing, so I will have to see what other image services are in demand first.

Result from the game played yesterday: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Newcastle United

These are the Premier League games taking place today:

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth
Brentford vs Leicester City
Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leeds United
Chelsea vs Everton

On current form I would expect Chelsea and Tottenham to win their games. If Tottenham win it will make an interesting race for a top four finish because they would leapfrog Manchester United in to 3rd place.
1780  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: March 18, 2023, 10:45:14 AM
I understand what you say but put it this way, if a service is open to misuse by the end user then the owners of mixers are on the inevitable road to being arrested for money laundering. Having a maximum limit per mix would only allow those who wish to misuse the service to circumvent the rules with relative ease.

The only way to avoid that would be from them to retain customer data including KYC which they can pass on to relevant law enforcement agencies when legally required to do so but that is counterproductive to those seeking anonymity when mixing and not many would be willing to hand over their details to mixers.

One option for a way out of mixer owners to avoid prosecution would probably be for them to implement KYC and though it defeats the primary privacy objective, there is a logic behind it. If any form of KYC were to be implemented by a mixer then the amount of trust being given to them by their clients would be immense and basically a huge put-off.

Maybe you don't even need to go that route. They can only create a value limit per mix.
In almost all countries, there is a maximum amount that is not considered a bribe. So if this value is not exceeded in each mix, there probably won't be any big problems.

Of course, I don't know all the legal criteria that can be followed. But, the owners of these sites, have to study more the laws of the countries where they operate, to try to protect themselves.
