2321  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 24, 2013, 04:52:48 PM
Whew BTC is looking so strong these days. No stopping this mega-Titan.
2322  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Batch 3 [CLOSED- Seven 4 module Avalons ordered] on: May 24, 2013, 12:35:10 AM
Is anyone else starting to get a bit excited? I am .... not a huge amount of waiting left... !
2323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are MtGox withdrawls delayed to artificially keep the Bitcoin price high? on: May 23, 2013, 05:49:44 PM
I started an OKPAY withdrawal from GOX.

I'll really happy if it takes less than 4 days... last time I did it, it was ridiculous...
2324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: May 23, 2013, 03:40:14 PM
Kano isn't too blame here.

It is totally reasonable that he should get units for his contributions.

It's not favoritism or nepotism or what-not. He has rare useful skills which he is being equitably rewarded for having.

It's similar to how a video game company can get early free prototype video cards from NVIDIA so that they can use, promote, and program for them in advance.

BFL shipping out sample units to journalists to drum up more pre-order sales before even shipping in any reasonable quantities to very old orders -- that's different imho, and not as easily justifiable.
2325  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are BFL Jalapeņos worth it? on: May 23, 2013, 03:30:27 PM
If they exist, were able to be delivered in less than ...3 months at the latest, and the company was trustworthy, then yes, Jalap's would be worth it.

But I don't think any of this ^^^ is the case.
2326  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: It's time to sell GPU's? on: May 23, 2013, 03:28:30 PM
Tough call. Everyone's situation is just a little bit different.

Personally I'm out in late June. Partly though because my few mining rigs seem to be taking like 5 hours of maintenance a week as of late.

GPU mining is in terminal decline though. It's pretty much over. We are on third gen mining now; it's the ASIC era.

However I'm not saying there will not be profit to be made in GPUs still...especially if you'll be working on the ALT coins, such as the very promising upcoming Netcoin, for which no ASICs will be working on.
2327  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are MtGox withdrawls delayed to artificially keep the Bitcoin price high? on: May 23, 2013, 03:20:20 PM
ya I always tell myself I'll never use it again and then somehow it always manages to work its way back into my transactions and trading.

I'm going to really KRAKEN it up soon though. I agree, I should not be using gox...
2328  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are MtGox withdrawls delayed to artificially keep the Bitcoin price high? on: May 23, 2013, 03:14:20 PM
Wow Frizz, you're not having an easy time in this thread are you Smiley ?

Personally I don't see how a USD to OKPAY withdrawal confirmation can take more than 4 or 5 days.....it's like didn't we invent computers to handle this sort of thing ?
2329  Other / Archival / Re: Vircurex to remove all non-BTC trading pairs in days - WTF?! on: May 23, 2013, 02:09:47 PM
Holy crap this is huge news. Surprised I wasn't aware of this until now (thanks OP).

That sucks. I enjoyed and had a lot of success at selling some fringe alt coins for usd on Vircurex.
2330  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Post your 7950 Card infos and Settings on: May 23, 2013, 02:05:37 PM
^^^^ that's pretty interesting. I was under the [apparently false] impression that those Catalyst 13.x beta drivers weren't all that great.
2331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: *New PCI-E Based ASIC miners 1.2th/s - 1.9th's +\- 10%* on: May 23, 2013, 02:03:43 PM
Wow all sorts of ASIC offers coming out of the wood work.

I give this one a 'thank you sir, please come again'.  Chance of legitimacy? I'd put it at ....   4 to 6% ..

I just don't trust anyone that Capitalizes random words, especially.
2332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Explain Bitcoin to Non-Technical People? on: May 23, 2013, 01:46:25 PM
I have a hard time with this as well.

I think I could reasonably outline Bitcoin in a paragraph or two. But when friends ask me about how it works, all I can do is mumble something about 'cryptography' and basically just say its a 'online currency based on codes' which doesn't do it all nearly enough justice.
2333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Devil worshipers cult Illuminati (Bilderberg Group) trying to ban Bitcoin on: May 23, 2013, 01:43:34 PM
Earth is a just a Coin on the intergalactic markets and we all mine it down here.

Last I heard EarthCoin was hovering at about 0.0015 UniverseCoin's.

The Biggerburger group is trying to bring us down....in order to prime us for a big pump & dump.

And don't even get me started on the Zeta Reticulans!
2334  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: May 22, 2013, 07:22:48 PM
Took a few moments of puzzlement and contemplation, but do believe for the graphs, PV is 'page views' . Not sure of the other metric. But the graphs show the amount of traffic their site is getting in the lovely China part of the world.
2335  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Eyes to the horizon: A bitcoin ASIC project will be announced in June on: May 22, 2013, 05:22:48 PM
Well this looks promising to me.

Good luck !  Will be following your announcements.
2336  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: AMD Drivers fail on: May 22, 2013, 02:51:22 PM
Couldn't hurt to use the "AMD driver uninstall tool" [available for only Windows 7] to completely clean out your drivers, and then reinstall them.

AMD drivers have tendency to critically mess up and then not uninstall correctly.

Though yes, your problem does sound to be more likely a hardware issue .
2337  Economy / Speculation / Re: So bitcoin has been stable for a while.. on: May 22, 2013, 01:50:06 AM
I pretty much agree with everything arsenische said, and concur that people are consolidating right now.

But now that is settled Smiley any other theories ?  I remember reading something about MTGOX changing it's policy on bots, or limiting bots some how (or may the volume of thos 0.01 trades) around the time that this period of stability began. I wonder if that is a factor; I can't recall too many more specific details about it though, it might have happened or maybe someone just postulated that ...
2338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I'm starting to get fucking pissed (BFL) on: May 21, 2013, 08:21:23 PM
But unfortunately for them, their reputation is ruined and even if they do it right, people wont trust them with their btc.

Really unfortunately, I don't think this is the case.  It looks like BFL is still selling a few hundred units a day, I think it was between 250 and 400 on average.

The unwashed Internet masses are not as informed as us who follow the forums.  People are still handing over tons of cash to BFL with no idea that they stepping into a semi illegitimate boondoggle.

In the best of cases it's a complete fabrication to promise any timely delivery of 'pre-orders' when there are untold thousands of orders before yours already made, and the company hasn't even been able to finalize a prototype yet.
2339  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: May 21, 2013, 08:10:02 PM
Really getting excited about this design . Keep up the good work BKKCoins.. !
2340  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin personal guide to buy from btc-e through perfectmoney on: May 21, 2013, 06:42:22 PM
OKPay appears to be back for BTCE now though. Thanks anyways OP.
