what about nckrazze, I think he's just doing farm expansion or something... rates aren't as high though

want to invest in something that has nothing to do with mining.

Help us out with Rugatu Q&A

https://www.glbse.com/asset/view/RUGATU

The platform code is almost finished, servers are taken care of so we're currently using any investments for properly advertising Rugatu all over the Internet, raising bitcoin awareness at the same time.
2362  Other / Meta / Re: Watchlist on: June 27, 2012, 01:09:42 PM
Is there any way to see how many people are watching a thread?

Thanks for the new feature Smiley

+1, would be very nice to know the number of people having your thread on their watchlist.

Small thing, can we have it renamed to something like "Thread watchlist" ?
2363  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Bitcoins legal? on: June 27, 2012, 12:54:03 PM
My guess is that if Bitcoin ever does become a truly successful global currency, governments will be forced to move to a land value tax, since that is the only tax that cannot be avoided or evaded.

The other possibility is that government will force companies to register a particular bitcoin address or addresses as being the payment address for given individuals.  Governments would actually love this, as your income would be written in the block chain.  It could even be automated so that they get their tax even quicker... the government issues a tax payment address per employee to businesses.  The business then has to pay employees in a single transaction that pays both the tax and the employee in one.

What fun we have in store, right?

If we ever reach that level, the world around you would be quite different than it is today. Imagine for a few moments what repercussions would have when a government, which are the same people not the frightening organizacion we have today, adopts and uses bitcoins at that scale. You would immediately have a WOT (web of trust) integrated within society, if everyone pays from his "green address".

Off course you will have all the advantages bitcoin brings us, like anonymity or plausible deniability, in case you don't want all your finances public, but this is way too big to grasp in a single image, my head hurts...
2364  Other / Off-topic / Re: Wife and I bought a Restaurant!!!!! on: June 27, 2012, 12:25:44 PM
Well while its true that bitcoins bought my wife a few purses... lol a lot of hard work bought us a Restaurant. Even though its a running business we have a lot of work and restructuring to do. So I am making a pre announcement that soon could be a few weeks could be a few month:

Panama will have the first bitcoin accepting restuarant

Just very exited with the doors this new venture has opened. I might not too active on the forums but will be here every so often to catch up on the world of bitcoins.

Congrats vite, now I know where to eat on my next vacation to Panama Cheesy

Tu ingresa que te lo devolveran en preferentes legalmente respaldados por un contrato donde figura tu huella dactilar previamente robada de la caña vacia que te dejaste en la terraza del bar de al lado de tu casa. Grin

2366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPay Shatters Record for Bitcoin Payment Processing on: June 27, 2012, 10:54:41 AM
This is good of course; but it's not indicative of any growth of bitcoin in the wider economy.

It's all existing bitcoiners buying bitcoin mining gear for bitcoins.  If there were no such thing as bitcoin; these transactions would never have happened.

To get justifiably excited about this sort of record breaking announcement we would need to see it being made up of thousands and thousands of small, every day transactions, that would have happened whether bitcoin existed or not.

I get more excited about people buying baklava (sorry if misspelled) for bitcoins than I do about people buying mining rigs.

I love Baklava - where can I buy it for BTC?

Interesting, what does it do ?

Look at reply button, beside it is now "watchlist". Its for keeping track of threads without getting your email inbox spammed by subbing.
And there we have it!  The question is, can you have threads be auto-watched when you reply to them?

See theymos thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90136
2372  Other / Meta / Re: Watchlist on: June 26, 2012, 11:55:09 PM
Sub

Cheesy

This was a much needed feature, I was getting sick of bulanula's scammer tag thread popping up all the time.

Yeah, so no more senbonzakura's "hmm" either? Or subs all over the place?

Damn, i will miss those  Undecided

Who would have guessed that all the math we studied in college would lead us to a truly free market.

Can't remember where i saw this quote:

Is that a gold-bar USB stick where you keep your bitcoins? (similar to http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Gold-Bar-Flash-Drive/dp/B00443EWG2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_misc_2)

Indeed it is, well spotted eagle eyes, though with the lenders forum interest rates with guaranteed returns being 1.5 - 2% per week! & pirate pass throughs of 6.9% per wk compound, let alone direct with pirate for 7% it's no surprise that that usb storage bar is empty atm, just as I would love a 1oz gold Casascius BTC1,000 coin but atm the opportunity cost is too high for me as in 1 year I could buy 2 by safe lending.

edit: one needs BTC1,000 Casascius gold coins that can also be loaned, the btc of them that is...    Tongue

Your greed, people, will be your downfall.

By that you mean... ?!

Edit: Aqui otro video que me he encontrado http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEu-FMS7nXo

2379  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to buy BTC via PP or Ukash on: June 26, 2012, 03:55:06 PM
Regarding PayPal I'll totally agree. However i didn't think that Ukash is reversible.

+1, nowhere to find ukash on that wiki page. Once bought, ukash codes can't be returned.

I'm willing to proxy buy bitcoins for ukash if you're interested.
