241  Other / Meta / Re: [Just Kidding] Merit giveaway board request in marketplace on: December 29, 2019, 04:47:48 PM
Just like other threads, these seasonal merit giveaways will end soon. Though I also want to see them all in one place, creating a new sub-board is not necessary. A list of these kind of threads should be enough like the one CryptopreneurBrainboss created.
242  Other / Off-topic / Re: FREE MERITS!!! *Forum's New Year's resolution* on: December 29, 2019, 04:35:01 PM
What is your target rank or target number of merit
The next rank after my current rank. One step at a time.

What are you going to do next year, do you have a plan to achieve next year?
Try to focus on boards like Bitcoin Technical Support, Development & Technical Discussion + sub-board, and maybe spend more time in WO.

Ranking up is a by-product of good posts.
You can't produce good posts if you have little knowledge.
That's how I look at it.

243  Other / Meta / Re: This is my story in 2019, what is your story ? on: December 28, 2019, 05:52:06 PM
Congrats on your success. Why not merge this with your motivation thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5211323.0 ?
244  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk at Wikipedia on: December 28, 2019, 05:27:35 PM
It has been edited at least 20 times since @jackg opened a thread about it in April (Bitcointalk on Wikipedia looks kinda sparse)

You can add more if you wish to.

You mean marketing outside from Bitcointalk.
It could be both. Networking doesn't mean it has to be just outside or just within the forum. As you can read from OP's post, they have been trying to get some attention here but it's not working. I think this particular post got the most reply.
247  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I Am Wearing The Foxpup's Merit Cycling Club Avatar on: December 28, 2019, 03:27:36 PM
If you're going to make a history of that avatar, maybe you should include this

Since I stand firmly against all these PAID2POST campaigns and feel only NET POSITIVE services should be advertised on the forum, I present...

248  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: {Warning}: Another Fake CZ Binance AMA Bitcoin Giveaway on: December 28, 2019, 03:11:22 PM
With all the privacy features of telegram, why can't they come up with an option to block all users from messaging you? I think that's better than giving you the option to block users one by one.
On top of that, blocking all users to message you might give you trouble too, especially if you need to get in touch with new users every now and then.
They already have this feature where you can block all users from adding you in different group chats but you have the option to allow some of them to add you. Telegram can do the same for messages. Give users the option to not receive any messages from non-contacts but allows them to add who else can message them. If you are expecting some new people to contact you via telegram, then don't use the "block all" option.

You can try it for yourself, used the keyword "Binance Live", and boom, first three search returns point to a fake giveaways and the going down on the list, you can still find many similar channels still alive as of this time.
I did a "Binance giveaway"

There is also a good browser called Vivaldi. I haven't tried it pero maganda daw U.I.

Isa sa nagustuhan ko sa Vivaldi

Pwede ka mamili ng search engine from largest but not private (google) to smaller but more privacy centric like duckduckgo.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Holiday Merits] - Post Your Favorite Altcoin Post of 2019 on: December 27, 2019, 04:59:52 PM
I was already familiar with the concept that there are trends in Altcoins and they quickly change but this post entitled "Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful" taught us that we should be wary and not easily follow these trends since scammers are also taking advantage of them.
251  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Pinoy Betting Site [Nakaka intindi ng tagalog yung support] on: December 27, 2019, 04:25:27 PM
Mas okay siguro kung convert na lang yung original post sa listahan ng Pinoy betting site na may tagalog support. Base sa comments, hindi lang pinakbet.com pnxbet.com ang meron.

Nice sig.
252  Economy / Reputation / Re: UPDATED - 18 November, 2019 : List of Active Merit Giveaways threads. on: December 27, 2019, 03:57:33 PM
There is an open Holiday merits thread and I have personally benefitted from it, it's open for all ranks although you have to the post of others that has been made in 2019 but you have found to be awesome.
tk808 : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212250.0

OP is already aware of that thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212250.msg53431957#msg53431957
He is probably too busy to update this and include his own giveaway thread

For some reason I have become more interested in knowing more about signature campaigns and their relevance in the forum, so I thought it would be useful to have an overview about how many well known members are participating in those and which ones are the most popular.
From the list, it is apparent that most well known members who are wearing signatures are participants of Chipmixer campaign. Others are wearing mostly Bitsler and Yobit. There are a lot of users wearing signatures currently marked as unknown but let's disregard that for the meantime. What's the relevance of this data to the forum?

We gotta give more credit to the guys who keeps on busting projects with fake teams, plagiarized whitepapers, and ponzis. They probably saved hundreds of newbies from falling to scammy projects.

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Outside bitcointalk project exposition, on: December 26, 2019, 05:58:26 PM
Do some networking. Get in touch with some people in the cryptocurrency market but I am not talking about influencers. Find those who are really interested in the technology then you can start pitching your idea. I am not giving you any assurance that they will but they might if your project is interesting to them. It's probably a longer route compared to crowdfunding but it doesn't look like you have better options.

1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212462.0
The topic was created just yesterday. It's a well constructed post about an investor's concerns about the happenings around ethereum. I like threads such as this one since I get to learn different perspectives. One comment from the thread for example gives a not-so-popular take https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212462.msg53440011#msg53440011 on the project.

2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5211247.msg53395486#msg53395486
Another recently created topic. It reminds us not to let our guard down and not to be lax when it comes to investing since fraudsters keeps on learning new ways to scam as well.

A reality on what's really happening for some projects ANN here on bitcointalk.
257  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: {Warning}: Another Fake CZ Binance AMA Bitcoin Giveaway on: December 26, 2019, 01:14:39 PM
Changing tactic to fool some users again. Spamming different telegram groups doesn't work anymore so they shifted to private messages. Don't forget to report to telegram also if you receive one of those messages.

With all the privacy features of telegram, why can't they come up with an option to block all users from messaging you? I think that's better than giving you the option to block users one by one.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Sinking ship or Sleeping Giant? on: December 25, 2019, 06:26:44 PM
I just think if what has already said by ethereum core developers if complete ethereum 2.0 updates can't be done in the next year and they were saying the possible date to complete all of updates in the next year after 2020 which is 2021. it doesn't mean ethereum core dev is postponing the ethereum 2.0
Yes of course they won't be postponing the development of ethereum 2.0, it will continue until they are ready. I was talking about postponing the full launch when I mentioned 2021.

Why the worry since you are holding just 10% ETH in your portfolio?
Probably because his entire portfolio is $100,000 or more. Assuming it's $100K, the $10K worth of Eth is still not a joke.

Baka sakali sagutin  Smiley
260  Other / Meta / Re: Anyway to limit the virus ANN scam? on: December 25, 2019, 05:22:12 PM
So there is any effective way to prevent this happenning again?
We can't prevent them from posting virus and malwares but you can help in getting their posts deleted by reporting in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5182222.0 You can post warnings in the scammers thread while waiting for the mods to delete them.
