Djokovic is out guys! he was beaten earlier by Tabilo 2-6 and 3-6.

He was suffering after that incident with the water bottle hitting his head, his coordination
was off so it affected him.

I didnt realise it when I heard it first but that was a metal water bottle so it would do more
damage than a plastic one.

Also Nadal is out, Hurkacz beat him and now Nadal is wondering whether to play RG or not.

It really is hard to know where a safe place would be other than going subterranean.

What would the primary targets be in a nuclear war? military installations, fuel depots, energy generators.

If cities are targeted it would only be for maximum human kills and outside the initial impact zone
you would have to be below ground and as others say, would you really need to be alive?
243  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Population on: May 12, 2024, 06:26:19 AM
The population of the world may be increasing but in some countries Europe for example
the population might start to decline.
GenZ currently on average are less likely to have children because of housing pressures and the
concern of bringing children into a world struggling with climate change, the thinking could be
"whats the point if there is no climate"

Personally when it comes to india, I cannot understand why people in an impoverished
society would bring more children into that system and put even more financial pressure
on themselves.

Ah the Tigers couldnt do it in the end, it was close but not enough time for them to make the
benefit of the Knights Yellow card on the 73rd minute. Another loss, not good.

First two matches of Round 10 in the URC played last night and they went the way of the favourites.

Dragons 21 - 44 Stormers
Edinburgh 40 - 14 Zebre

6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 spots on the ladder are closely fought now for the finals with
only 2 rounds to play. My main concern is that Connacht get into the top 8 but they
play Munster this round and thats not going to be a win.
245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Smoking addiction in the society on: May 11, 2024, 06:38:49 AM
That is what is called nicotine addiction. Nicotine can cause temporary happy effects in the brain. This effect of nicotine can make someone feel comfortable, but it actually risks becoming dependent. Nicotine addicts usually feel anxious and irritable when they don't get nicotine intake, for example when they stop smoking. And that's what happens to your friends who always smoke in the morning because they are addicted to nicotine and it has become a habit so that when they don't do it they will feel anxious, restless or something else. About 90% of nicotine addicted people try to quit their addiction without the help of medication or therapy. However, this method is considered less effective, because only 5-7% of sufferers can actually stop. I was also an active smoker 8-9 years ago, but I was able to stop until now. And to stop is very difficult to do.
You have done a very commendable job. Self-will is enough to quit smoking even though it is painful. There are many reasons behind smoking such as the inability to choose good friends perceived stress tradition of youth smoking and many people think that if you don't smoke you have no personality etc. So if we don't teach our children the right values and don't teach them the strategy and importance of choosing good friends we won't be able to keep our generation away from this kind of addiction. So let us smokers consider their own health protection family and environment and stay away from smoking.
Deciding to quit smoking benefits your health. Even from your financial side a lot of money is saved. Quitting smoking initially is very difficult and a battle with the mind, but it is possible to reap the benefits in the long run. It is very important for parents to be vigilant in choosing their children's friends to counter the potential risks of smoking. Keep track of where the children go and with whom they meet so that they do not become addicted. Total awareness can lead to a beautiful smoke free society.

That is not so easy to do, unless you lock your children up, no friends and home school
it is impossible to control their lives until they are adults, 18 years of age.

I have recently been to Rotterdam in the Netherlands and Berlin in Germany and it
is shocking to see the amount of smoking going on especially by people in
their early 20's, it seems like they just dont care about the health risks and maybe the
addiction is normal for them along with alcohol and drugs.

And this is regardless of all the warnings which we all know about, even the messages
on the boxes are ignored.

The show in Roma must go on... but accident for Djokovic after the match tonight was something unexpected....
https://video.repubblica.it/sport/djokovic-colpito-alla-testa-da-una-borraccia-alla-fine-del-suo-match-degli-internazionali-d-italia/469054/470008?ref=RHRT-BG-P1-S1-T1 (LOUD VOLUME! Use mute....)

He get injured by a "canteen" that by mistake was lost by a fan. well it seems he lost blood and have also nausea due the accident...
However strong performance as usual even against of player that was pretty far from his tennis level.

I dont know what is wrong with people how can you throw stuff at a player dosent matter who it is. Especially something that can hurt him, this guy who threw that should be banned permanetly from ever coming to a tennis match. On the other hand amazing start for Djokovic and shows that he is in good form.

Looking at the video from bitbollo I'm taking it that the guy in the green jacket was
the offender and that it was a mistake, a freak accident but costly to Djokovic,
it unfortunate but strangely IMO it could only happen to Djokovic.

Bye bye Dominic Thiem: he announced that this ATP tour 2024 will be the last of his career. He is 30 years old now and well, he earned around $30 million in prize money and he feels it is the right decision.

He has played some amazing games I think, but his trend was pretty much only negative in the last few years. Unbelievable that his last win on the ATP tour was this amazing match against Zverev in the US Open final. Best ranking ever was 3rd and he can say he won a Grand Slam. Sounds like a successful career to me. Can't compare everyone to Djokovic, Nadal and Federer.

I think its the right decision for Dominic. The game has moved on, the younger players
sre hard to beat and older players find it difficult to get far in tournaments after coming
back from injuries. Its best I think to retire on a positive vibe i.e whole still playing, similar
to what Rafa is doing, last week he bade the Madrid tournament farewell as it was his last.

I fully agree and he was talking about a wrist injury as far as I remember and that he has plans already for the future. There is no point in wrecking your body and then throw the towel when it is too late. I wanted to say that I didn't understand Murray but I do understand him, because if you are a professional sports man and dedicated your whole life to it because you loved it, it's to stay "I am going to stop here". But Murray, a successful player and multimillionaire who has many years to go in life, gets all these surgeries and still wants to go. He has a hip implant and I think no matter how hard you try, but tennis such a taxing sport. How in the world would he compete with the Sinner and Alcaraz guys?

That's why I think Thiem got the timing right. Still fresh, rich and has plans.

Murray is an anomaly, he like Thiem is rich, has his own clothing business, he doesnt
need to be playing and wont be beating any top 10 players.

Gasquet is another player in the same scenario, he should also retire after this season
and Fils also is approaching that time although his performances are still decent.

It's bad enough to see defending champion Elena Rybakina having to withdraw from the Italian Open due to illness, and this year she has withdrawn from at least three WTA 1000 tournaments and two of them as defending champion, it seems like she and her team have to be more selective in choosing tournaments because she often get sick and that was the only obstacle she faced.

Here I have to point out that WTA players can't choose which Masters series tournaments to play and which ones to skip. All Masters tournaments are mandatory and many star players have been commenting on this topic recently mostly saying that quality of tennis drops significantly because of the tight schedules and several long Masters tournaments in a row.
That sounds way too bureaucratic and doesnt sound fair at all, is that also the case
for the ATP side or can they choose where to play?

I see Ruud has vacated the Rome tournament early after been beaten by Kecmanovic,
Ruud is not having a good clay court season so far this year, disappointing from him.
248  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do we really plant trees? on: May 10, 2024, 08:09:19 PM
Earth's temperature is slowly increasing.  The gradual increase in the temperature of the earth is called global warming.  An example of a natural disaster caused by global warming is flash flooding.  As the temperature of the earth increases, the polar ice melts, resulting in flash floods.  Also, various other natural disasters occur.  Planting trees can prevent global warming.  Lately I have been seeing a lot of posts on social media about planting trees.  But the matter has become such that the number of posts about planting trees is more than planting trees.  We all understand that only planting trees can save us from such natural calamities.  But we ask ourselves how many trees we have planted till date.  We only say by mouth that plant trees but there are people in the world who have not planted a single tree in their life.  Therefore, it should be shown in reality, not just in words.  And I think that strong action should be taken by the government about planting trees.
Planting trees is very important because it will really help the environment. The amount of heat we are facing in my country has forced many people to sleep outside their homes at night. However, the solution doesn't only depend on afforestation but there is a need to control deforestation. The rate at which trees are cut down in my location is very alarming and the reason is that the government has no policy on curbing incessant cutting down of trees.

Personally this winter or 2023/2024 I have planted approximately 130 Trees and will
be adding a further 40 in this coming winter season. Apart from 2 they are all native to
my country, some are fast growing, and some not so fast.
Sadly I have not planted any tree in fourteen years. The last tree I planted was when I was a student and it was compulsory. It's great to know that you have planted so many trees that have contributed to the balance of our environment. The only problem that is restricting me from planting currently is space. I live in an overcrowded city, where almost all the land space has been occupied by buildings. Maybe I might consider planting outside the city because I want to be part of this mission to save our planet.

Well at least you care enough about the importance of Trees. Do you know of some
disused spaces in your area? do you know others in your community who care about
the environment  and the importance of planting Trees?

If yes you could start some "Guerilla" Tree planting!

Just get some tree saplings and plant them in those unused spaces or neglected
areas and hopefully they make it to big trees. Anyone can do this type of planting.

Wow, its hard to believe its already round 10 of the NRL!

Timelord you did well with calling the Dolphins over the Sea Eagles, they were definitely
stronger in the last 20 minutes of the match. Great price @ 2.10.

Panthers won as expected.

Broncos though! thats a great win, not because its from the Eels who are struggling so
far but because they are missing 2 key players.

With a little knowledge and being able to be patient turns the Bitcoin market volatility
in your favour.

Being able to read some trading signals and charts will turn the market from being
something volatile to couple FUD and FOMO to, into a market which can provide
opportunities to make profits from that same volatility.

There is a saying that "The best time to plant a Tree was 100 years ago, the second
best time is NOW".

There is another big worry besides Climate change and that is Biodiversity. We are still
losing natural habitat in order to grow food predominantly to feed to farmed animals.
Forestry will help counter this as well as helping to control CO2.

Rounds of 128 playing today but Rafa plays tomorrow in his round against a Belgian player
I have never heard of, Bergs. Maybe serveria.com has heard of him?
Not really, I've never heard of him as well. He's not exactly junior, he's 24 yo but only showed up recently, prolly a late bloomer and just appeared on tour. Will keep an eye on him.

Nadal won today eventhough Bergs took the first set off him. Tough second round
draw now for Nadal because he faces Hurkacz ranked 7th seed.

Djokovic plays Moutet who he should beat.

On the WTA side I see that Naomi Osaka had another win today by beating Kostyuk,
now through to the round of 32 to play Kasatkina.

Round 16 of the United Championship kicks off on Friday with Dragons v Stormers,
I would like to do a parlay on a few matches but its tricky this round IMO.

Dragons v Stormers - Stormers are 1.11 to win which is about right.

Edinburgh v Zebre - Edinburgh are 1.01 = unbackable

Bulls v Warriors - Warriors are in top spot on the table but are underdogs away to 4th
spot Bulls. Warriors are priced at 6.2, that would nearly be worth a bet on its own.

Scarlets v Ulster - Ulster are favourites at 1.34 so they go into the parlay with the Stormers.

Sharks v Benetton - this is a tricky one, Benetton are 3.00 for the win, they have been
really good this season and were beaten in the semi final of last weeks European Challenge cup,
Sharks are favourite but this really could go either way IMO

Munster v Connacht - Munster go into the parlay at 1.19

Lions v Cardiff - Lions into the parlay at 1.11

Leinster v Ospreys - Leinster will be back to full strength for this round and are 1.03.

Total parlay value 1.93

I just checked the outright odds for the mens winner and in top spot is Djokovic, no surprise
there at 2.85. Closest to him is Tsitsipas at 10.2!

Rounds of 128 playing today but Rafa plays tomorrow in his round against a Belgian player
I have never heard of, Bergs. Maybe serveria.com has heard of him?

On the womens side its the same, its rounds of 128 playing ATM. It will be interesting to
see how Swiatek and Sabalenka play. Outrights ATM are Swiatek 2.35, Sabalenka 5.70.

255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is more regulation coming to online gambling? on: May 07, 2024, 11:11:28 AM
The biggest reason for regulating online gambling is to restrict and protect underage kids
from getting addicted.

An underage kid cannot walking into a casino or a bookmakers shop here and place a wager,
its illegal but accessing a casino on a smartphone is very easy for kids and very difficult
for the casinos to verify the age of the user other than some form of legal ID like drivers license
or Passport.

So yea I think it is inevitable that there will be more regulations which aim to protect the underage
but will affect everyone.

Firstly, the "little girl" in most western countries is classed as an adult and so has full autonomy
over her own decisions and/or cannot be forced to do anything she doesnt want to do.

Secondly, I know so many people who have gone to third level college and universities and received
degrees in a certain field and are ow not working in that field but something completely different.

Attaining a college degree does not guarantee or is not a mark of financial or life success.
There are plenty of examples of successful business people in my country who never finished school
or even went to second level school.

If the girl has a real aptitude for a certain skill or interest she should be encouraged and supported.

I have in the past just created a Google Blogger blog and uploaded images ti that and then
copied them to the forum. All the images I have posted in the 7 years are still live on the forum
until I delete the blog.

Now I use Talkimg, extremely easy to use, creates the BB code to copy and paste, the only thing
I do is to insert the size of the image to make it fit better on other peoples viewer.

258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question to hodlers:How will you spend the money? on: May 07, 2024, 07:55:56 AM
Its important to realise that long term HODL'ers are not going to sell everything all at once,
ok there are probably a small percentage who will.

I can speak for myself obviously, but I wont sell all of my HODL'ing ever, I will die with Bitcoin!

Its hard to move Bitcoin to another investment because there isnt anything even close to
yielding profits that Bitcoin can. Personally there is nothing I need other than some home
renovations.

I would like to buy a parcel of land and convert it to Forestry for my Kids and Grandchildren to
benefit from in the future when I'm long gone.

259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Smoking addiction in the society on: May 06, 2024, 08:24:22 PM
I don't know where you're from, but in place where I live, I wouldn't say that things is getting worse here. I would say that significantly less people smoke nowadays than it was 15-20 years ago. It's not just people's mindset is changing, but it's also getting too expensive to smoke.
But on the other hand more people starting to smoke things like IQOS, vapes and weed also. Not sure what is more harmful, but trends is changing. Curreent generation ternagers don't even look at these old school cigarettes.

We are in the same scenario, back when I was a kid, I remember smelling cigarettes in the morning just when I woke up and no matter where you hang out, they always smoke as if it is their food or something but everything changes when those people died and they were diagnosed with some serious diseases before they died caused by their chain-type way of smoking. That's gonna happen when you are addicted to something and you have the means to do it, you keep doing it until your body gives up on you. As of now, no one in this home is a smoker and I'm happy with that and satisfied.

Yes, its the same in my country, smoking has become less and less, it is illegal to smoke
inside like bars, shops and restaurants, and everyone complys with that.

Smoking cigarets has also become very expensive, I think the big manufacturers have
moved on to other markets such as where the OP is and is a reason why its on the increase.

Vapes have filled the void left by cigarets and are now just as addictive which creates
another problem waiting to be fixed in the future.

After losing the first set Rublev didnt panic, he increased his game play for the second
and third sets and was able to break Felix in each to win the title.

With Sinner and Alcaraz out of Rome there will certainly be a few top seeds who will fancy
their chances even more, maybe Rublev already has his eyes on this title too, that would be
remarkable. Ruud needs a good result in Rome too.

Women start tomorrow I think.
