Daniil Medvedev - Stefanos Tsitsipas

without a doubt that this will be a great game between two big names in the world of tennis and will be a very disputed game, Medvedev who currently occupies position number 3 in the ranking has never reached the final of clay competition, he will strive to be victorious in this game, but his opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas who currently occupies the number 5 position in the ATP ranking comes into this game as the favorite to win and it is not for less the surface of Clay is the strong point of Tsitsipas, so I also think that Tsitsipas will leave this game with victory, although I will not bet on this game, I still see Tsitsipas winning

There is a lot of history between these two players, the head-to-head over 11 matches
is Medvedev 7-4 Tsitsipas. Its going to be close  and Medvedev this season has shown
massive improvements on Clay. I'm going with a Medvedev win!

Holger Rune - Casper Ruud

Rune, who currently occupies the number 7 position in the ATP ranking, comes to this game very motivated, he is in his best form and he was a surprise when he managed to reach another semifinal of a tournament, and this season he won the ATP Munich for the second consecutive time, he also managed to reach the final of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo and has just defeated Novak Djokovic who is the number one player in the world, it is undeniable how rune is going through a good moment, although his opponent Ruud is a very strong opponent who currently occupies the number 4 position in the ATP ranking I see Rune coming out with victory in this game

This is a tough one to call, Rune is growing stronger almost with every tournament,
if he can win today he sets out a massive warning to everyone for RG.

Ruud favours the Clay courts but has been under the radar this season really and comes
into the match as underdog, he is definitely capable of creating an upset though.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin retirement benefits on: May 19, 2023, 12:16:28 PM
This can mostly apply to almost any other investment that you think will appreciate — it's not really exclusive to bitcoin alone. But I get your point.

There is one point the OP mentioned which is almost exclusive to Bitcoin and really
counts on its decentralised nature and that is the transfer of it from one person to
another without the receiver having to incur taxes.

5. When you WILLS or share your bitcoin to your children nobody will hear it

In my country inheritance over €16,000 can be taxed at 33%, the transfer or inheritance
of Bitcoin sidesteps this tax.
1203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 18, 2023, 09:58:47 PM
TBH I'm not surprised by Nadal's announcement. On not playing RG - that was really on
the cards because he hasnt been able to prepare by playing Madrid or Rome.

On retirement - it was inevitable, just goes to show again when approaching the end of
a career injuries feature a lot.

He also hinted at not playing a full season in 2024, he wants to play the tournaments
which were special for him.

Great minds think alike. I've also put a small wager on the Panthers for tonight's game.  If the Broncos are going to falter it's right about now.

My mind is not as great as yours Timelord, I had the Broncos backed!

I saw the first half of tonight's game on TV - very tough and thrilling, nevertheless the Panthers led at half time and Nathan Cleary kicked a one point field goal at full time to win 15 - 4 😁

Reading the match report the Broncos were close to scoring a few times but
through foul plays and knock on's it was not to be.

For tomorrows games I'm going with the Favourites, Roosters to beat the Dragons
and Rabbitohs to beat the Eels, 1.44 and 1.35 odds respectively
1205  Economy / Speculation / Re: Know your time to HOLD on: May 18, 2023, 12:22:25 PM

I don't like to sound desperate, do I sound desperate or determine to make money?

Bitcoin HODLing for years can not be a lost affair.

TBH you sound desperate!

Bitcoin is not a "get rich quick" scheme. Your thinking is very similar to those who get
into $hitcoins.

You need patience and a medium to long term outlook. Also a little more education
will trach you that on a weekly, monthly or multi-monthly Bitcoin doesnt keep going up!
There is a market there with traders, investors and speculators who all affect
that market up and down.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: May 18, 2023, 06:32:23 AM
The first round 12 game in NRL Australia is on today. The second placed Broncos face the
third placed Panthers in a few hours.

Really hard to bet on this one. The Broncos who in the last few seasons would be seen in the
bottom half of the ladder at this stage are massive underdogs at 3.3 while the Panthers
who have had a mixed bag of results so far are 1.37. I think I will try a $1 bet on the outsiders
with the hopes they can make the day really difficult for the Panthers and beat them.
1207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 17, 2023, 11:07:12 PM
Rune is definitely the real deal, I would like to see him play Djokovic in a GS and over five
sets, Maybe we will see it at RG this year?

So first semi final qualifiers is Rune v Ruud, thats a very interesting match up which
could go either way also.

The second semi final on paper should be Medvedev v Tsitsipas but both Hanfmann
and Coric are having a great tournament so far.
1208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 17, 2023, 12:23:57 PM
I really hope it's so. It was very fun to watch the Hungarian torture Carlitos with those dropshots... Grin

Medvedev v Zverev was a classy match. Medvedev pissed off the Italian crowd once again but somehow managed to defeat Zverev in straight sets. It looks like the German experiences some psychological issues, like a barrier which cannot be overcome at the moment.

Anyway, in WTA we're bound to see a very exciting quarterfinal Swiatek v Rybakina. Taking into account this is the 3rd or 4th time these ladies are meeting this year and Rybakina won all previous encounters we are about to witness a real thriller. Badosa - Ostapenko is also going to be big. No bets this time as these ladies (Badosa and Ostapenko) can be extremely unpredictable.

Marozsan beating Alcaraz was refreshing, but I feared that he indeed would not be able to keep up that level in the next game. There are those days when even weaker tennis players hit every single ball such that the stars have to shake their heads because they can't defend against someone way down the ATP ranking. It happens sometimes, but now the streak came to an end for Marozsan. It is still good to see some surprises from time to time as it keeps the tension and the excitement for the sport higher.

That is what I think as well about Zverev. It is as if he can't find his former self at all. He acts as if he is a different person. Losing against Medvedev is not embarrassing or anything, but starting into the match like that is a sign of inferior preparation or a lack of readiness. He is still young but for now his career is taking a negative turn.

Well as I suspected playing Coric posed a different set of challenges that Marozsan wasnt
able to overcome. It was a good run though to get to the round of 16!

Zverev IMO is suffering from a lack of confidence, ever since he got injured last year.

Coric is the next test for him and then we can discuss again. Smiley
Well Marozsan has taken the first set and the second set is still on serve.... It looks like his
high profile win yesterday hasnt phased him.

Have a bet on the Djokovic vs Rune match so just hope it doesn't end in the same fashion for Novak.
Like to see how far he can go all the way up to Roland Garros.

This match is going to 3 sets, it really could go either way, I recon the winner of this
will take the overall title or possibly Ruud depending on either Djokovic or Rune winning
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new milestone: 1M addresses hold 1 Bitcoin on: May 17, 2023, 06:24:54 AM
I'm sure there is a graph somewhere, and I think I've seen it before of the breakdown of
addresses with their Bitcoin amount, i.e 1000BTC, 500BTC, 100BTC, 50BTC and including
less than 1BTC number if addresses, no matter which way we look at it the numbers just
highlight the scarcity of Bitcoin.
1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 16, 2023, 08:56:23 PM
Sinner out from Roma ! Bad news Sad I should admit but Cerundolo has played today at high level.
Rublev out, Alcaraz out, Tiafoe out.... A lot of surprise during this tournament.
Lets see tonight Musetti against Tsitsipas Roll Eyes

Thats dissapointing for Sinner, Cerundolo could probably classed as a clay court specialist
so that was a tough one for Sinner. Italian hopes are all now on Musetti.

Of the top 10 seeds left in the tournament we have Djokovic, Medvedev, Ruud, Tsitsipas,
Rune. Its really looking good for Djokovic at this stage.

Coric is the next test for him and then we can discuss again. Smiley

Well Marozsan has taken the first set and the second set is still on serve.... It looks like his
high profile win yesterday hasnt phased him.
1211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OG Bitcoin Wallet Addresses Suddenly Active - Are they being hacked? on: May 16, 2023, 06:22:38 AM
You are kidding right.

This has been long debated in the forum and the odds are so low as to be ridiculous.

I mean theres tons of addresses out there so its like how could you not hit one
Because there are this many possible valid 12 word seeds:
340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,456

And there only approximately 30 million bitcoin addresses with balance on them. Divide those two numbers and you get a roughly 1 in 11 million trillion trillion chance of finding a collision. (Now, this is not quite accurate since any seed can generate potentially billions of addresses, but you get the idea.)

If we were talking about 24-word combinations, they are exponentially much smaller.

1 in 11 million, trillion, trillion chance . . . reminds me of the scene from the movie
Dumb and Dumber...

https://youtu.be/nFTRwD85AQ4

Recently I was visiting one of my friends who writes code, he brought up this topic to me recently saying that it seems like old wallets are being hacked into, that hackers have targeted older BTC addresses because of their vulnerabilities and lack of security.
I don’t know why people are always thinking negative about bitcoin, you noticed that some old bitcoin wallet’s are been activate, can’t you just think or make assumptions that the owner of the bitcoin is just trying to change wallet, must you think the wallet have been hacked? Any slight thing happening in bitcoin, then just negative thing that’s always coming to our minds, I think it’s just better we stop sharing negative news about bitcoin, let’s try and be positive.

Could it be that folks have figured out how to crack the codes on these old private keys? IF so, they are seeing some massive pay days, EH?
Maybe not, maybe the owner of the bitcoin just decided to move his bitcoin to a more secure wallet. Even if bitcoin have been inactive for long time, we all know the bitcoin belongs to someone, if the person haven’t lost his/her private key, then time will come when the person will activate the wallet, but that those not mean the person is trying to sell off the bitcoin or the wallet have been hacked.

I would never have automatically thought that just because an old wallet address
became active it meant it had been hacked, I would automatically think someone
was spreading FUD or just making wild assumptions.
1212  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Mississippi & Missouri lawmakers propose laws protecting bitcoin mining on: May 15, 2023, 09:37:21 PM
Overall I think its good news and ignores the likes of Greenpeace's concerns over
Bitcoin mining and its supposedly non Green credentials.

In Europe here I recon Bitcoin mining is treated and taxed like most other business or
manufacturing company or at the very least I havent heard of any European country
banning Bitcoin mining. Possibly in some countries there arent any regulations in
place at all.

At least these 4 brave states are making it possible to mine now or in the future.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 15, 2023, 08:46:47 PM
It's a shame I had to miss the Marozsan vs Alcaraz bet on the clay court ATP singles in Rome (Italy) just because the Odds were so low.
Even though this is a good opportunity to get a number of benefits.
This fight will be dominated by Alcaraz so he will easily become the winner.
Marozsan is really no match for Alcaraz, so whoever bets on Alcaraz for this match, you can get a win.

In surprising turn of events. Alcaraz has lost the first set against Marozsan and that too a convincing 6-3. I still doubt Marozsan will be able to win the match though. He was almost out of the tournament, the last round itself but got lucky with the opponent playing very poorly through out the match, especially at the end.

Edit: Marozsan beat Alcaraz 2-0. You should be glad you didn't bet because of the low odds.  Grin
New Star have emerged with the win against Alcaraz. It was completely unexpected, and we were able to see good number of matches in recent tournaments won by the underdogs. This time the second set was expected to be a win from Alcaraz, but the competence from Marozsan is really great and the tough play at the tie breaker turned the match. Second set was very close that Marozsan won it 77-64. Marozsan have reached the highest of 128th rank and winning against No.1 is a big day for him.

I think it's too early to say that a new star is born or something like that. All greatest players lose and sometimes they lose completely unexpectedly to some low-ranked player. It's very likely this Marozsan guy will lose in the next round like 0:6, 1:6 which is typical for new players on tour. Win against top10 guy then lose to some top100 player. Been there, done that. I watched Sinner v Shevchenko yesterday and that match was also too tight for Sinner's liking. Shevchenko took it to the 3rd set and actually had a chance defeat Sinner.

Yes I kind of agree, its way to early to make an assumption on Marozsan.
Lets see what he does against Coric, different opponent and different set of challenges,
also he has to be able to mentally prepare again for a new match and forget the massive
upset he created.

ATM I would liken this to the win Raducanu had in 2019 on the WTA when she won
the US Open and her opponent in that final Fernandez, they havent really built
on that final appearance.

Its exciting IMO that something different like this has happened, I think though
Alcaraz was ambushed in a way, he was taken by surprise and couldnt react quickly
enough and probably massively underestimated his opponent.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 15, 2023, 12:23:00 PM
Well this Marozsan is making a bit of a name for himself, he has taking the first set against
Alcaraz 6-3. Its doubtful if he can win the next 2 sets, that would be the shock of the year really.

Just checking his stats on the ATP site, this is his biggest tournament being an ATP1000 one,
he has previously played on the Challenger circuit.

On the Italian front Cecchinato was beaten by Hanfmann and Musetti plays Tiafoe
and Sonego plays Tsitsipas later today, I think Musetti has a good chance to get past
Francis.

1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: May 15, 2023, 06:18:37 AM
United Rugby Championship

The two semi finals have come and gone with one predictable win and one shock win!

As most expected the DHL Stormers won their semi against the visiting Connacht 43-25.
I have given Connacht a half chance of winning but my $1 bet didnt materialise.

Second semi final on Saturday brought the upset, home side Leinster were looking to setup
a second final and win the double with the Heineken Champions Cup but the visiting Munster
were able to stay with them and win with a 77th minute drop goal. Leinster had prioritised the
Heineken Cup by resting some key players for the coming final on Saturday.

Grand Final

DHL Stormers v Munster

1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whitepaper seen in the street of Edinburgh, Scotland on: May 14, 2023, 05:40:06 PM

I belong to the school of thought that celebrates every effort to make bitcoin popular no matter how small it might look. This advert might not attract a large number of people to bitcoin but one or two persons might pick an interest. Just for them to know that there is a currency called bitcoin is a big achievement to me.

I don't think we can speak negative about Bitcoin just because of the transaction fees inconsistent we are facing. When telling someone about the advantage Bitcoin has over the banking system there many points to begin with aside transaction fee, but the bottom line is that it's all about individual preference.
I also share your view because bitcoin has so many advantages over fiat. I had to wait for many days for a bank to confirm a transaction. And in some countries, the present transaction fees of Bitcoin are cheaper than fiat transaction fees. In my country, you have to pay very high transaction fees if you want to exceed the minimum deposit or withdrawal limit.

I just hope that the people whose interest is tickled by such street promotion
can look past the currently high transaction fees and discover all those extra
benefits which Bitcoin can offer over relying on FIAT banking solely.

As for the promotion itself, does anyone know who is behind it? Its obvious
nobody is going to read it there and then and I wonder how many people or what
percentage of the population lets say in Edinburgh hasnt heard about Bitcoin?

Would have been beneficial to have a QR code or web link so people can visit and
learn more.
1217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My experience with memorizing seed phrases on: May 14, 2023, 03:35:49 PM
How do you do it? This is impossible for now lol because I have too many things to memorize, my phone numbers, my car plate number, my accounts number and so on, having too mamy things memorized will interfere if you take some time off and focus on other things, it's very easier to mess everything up, there is no better solution with seed phrases than to write them down.

Sometimes, fate can make things happen to you, like an accident or memory losses, this happens to so many people and it's not as if they prayed for such, it just happened out of the blue, I am not saying such will happen to you but we humans, sleeping and waking up everyday is a risk.

Kts possible for sure to remember as much as you want, some people are better than
others and regular use/exercise is important/necessary.

Repetition, repetition, repetition as Zaguru12 points out and this is only an extra
backup, not the only way to store seed phrases.

I have never tried this although I have thought about, it cannot be that hard?
its just 12 words per wallet. There are people who can remember the players
for their winning world cup team of 2, 3 or 4 tournaments ago. If you prioritise memorising
and reciting the words it shouldnt be a problem.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You are still very early on: May 14, 2023, 08:02:44 AM
IMO getting involved in anyway with $hitcoins other than Litecoin or Monero is only feeding
their popularity, as Bitcoiners we should be shunning $shitcoins.

I also recon that if someone is only looking for quick fixes or get rich quick results
they will only look at $hitcoins and make their gamble there.

on the BTC0.1, totally agree with the sentiment that the amount could be a substantial
FIAT value in the future with further adoption and demand against a deflating supply, its
kind of a no brainer when also considering the transferability, preservation,
security and storage of wealth Bitcoin offers.

Its unfortunate that $hitcoiners cant see this, they have the "when Lambo?" attitude.

1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 14, 2023, 06:34:34 AM
and in the meantime the usual suspects of Rune, Ruud, Djokovic and Sinner have made
it to round of 32 and are playing today.

There is a bit of noise around Sinners win over Kokkinakis on Friday in the round of 64, he
won in fantastic style in two sets, 1-6, 4-6. I didnt see the match but read that it was a very
strong performance. He plays Shevchenko today which he should win and being the favourite
@ 1.08. He should be able to get the job done in under 18.5 @2.11....
1220  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Hunger and unending wants on: May 13, 2023, 05:30:21 PM
The unending wants is just commercialism and capitalism, everything today has been
upgraded and will continue to be upgraded until it is replaced, thats the way it is, everyone
is pressured into thinking they "need" more stuff when in reality all humans basically need is
food and shelter.

Food and shelter as a basic and only need is no longer a reality, transport, money and
communication have to me considered too.

Unfortunately there are hunger problems in the world and unfortunately they are getting
worse as climate changes and there is unrest and war in any particular country.
