2401  Economy / Speculation / Re: Copper - the forgotten hedge against inflation on: March 28, 2018, 06:01:35 AM
-snip-
I guess if you can get your hands on some copper pennies, that would work as well.
Pure Copper coins are rare.
There are some "collectible" copper coins out there but you will probably get more value out of its rarity (from collectors) than it's weight.
If you ever find any pure copper coin in circulation, stashing them might be illegal (In some Countries, keeping an unreasonable number of coins is illegal, like the Philippines).

I don't think that it's rare. Copper bullion/bars/rounds can always be found on precious metal selling sites such as Apmex or Provident Metals. But upon doing some quick research, the best value bullion I could find was around $0.89 per ounce, while the spot price of copper was just over $0.1 per ounce.

Yes, there may be legal issues with hoarding copper. But as long as you don't melt them, it should be alright. But if you're saving up for a SHTF situation I don't think by that stage anyone would care if you melted them anyways.

I just want to get a head start in investing in copper, but I definitely need an efficient means to do so. Paying 800% over spot for the pure stuff is too much, while the legal concerns with copper coinage is deterring for sure.
2402  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MicroCode is a Scammer on: March 26, 2018, 08:58:52 AM
Why were you trying to buy HYIP scripts in the first place? That just means that you were trying to scam people yourself.

Anyone who sells HYIP scripts probably operates one themselves, that's no surprise. The fact that they are willing to basically facilitate scammers with what they need is proof enough that they are scammers themselves. Plus, all HYIPs are ponzi schemes and you should know this. There are no legit "HYIPs". There are only ones who last longer and ones who doesn't last.

No surprise at all that eventually all his associated sites went scam. That's how HYIPs work.

Back to business - why were you trying to buy HYIP scripts? You clearly have done enough research in this thread alone to realize that there are no HYIPs that will ever fulfill what they promise. They are all ponzi schemes.
2403  Economy / Reputation / Re: Possible Phishing Link from user - Aid Needed. on: March 26, 2018, 08:31:38 AM
Check this out > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3196724.0

A similar case posted over an hour ago in scam accusation board.

Roll Eyes They might be a gang who's sending phishing links to other users. Both the accused users have similarities between them.

Instead of an organized gang, they might just be all victims of clicking on the same phishing link. And when they do get hacked, they are able to take over the hacked accounts and basically send more PMs from their accounts. Think of it as an ever expanding network of infected accounts, also trying to infect other accounts.

That should be the case, leading to more and more people being victims and sending out these phishing links without their consent.

I've seen 2 similar cases in scam accusations today, I don't think it's a coincidence. I doubt that anything bad will happen to you just by clicking on the link and checking it out before exiting it, but it's best to run some antiviral scans still just to be sure.
2404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payza Faces Major Money Laundering Charges in the US on: March 26, 2018, 07:55:54 AM
Wow! I had money at my Payza account. A few months ago, I've emptied my account, just like my Skrill account, and I see now that I've been very
lucky. This just shows we need BTC more than ever. The f*cking feds can close a payment processor, but they can't close BTC. It is the future!

Precisely. This is an example of why bitcoin is important. Any government can seize operation of a bank, an online payment processor, or any centralized exchanges or wallets. However, they will never be able to close down bitcoin.

You were lucky there. Reading from their recent announcements I don't think that US based customers can even move their funds anywhere:

Quote from: payza
This means that no transactions are allowed for US members at this time... neither providing US payout services or US based withdrawals.

A few years ago I was using Payza for some of my services but because of their high fees and because of their delay in some withdrawals I was tired with them. It was really a trusted company but they workers were working slow so because of that I went to Okpay and after that I came to bitcoin community and after that time I heard this news of them here and trying to visit the site but it looks like the site is now closed. Every business need to obey the rules strictly so that they can go for longer time.

They were trusted because a lot of PTC sites used them as well as HYIP sites, both industries are extremely shady. But if they were operating in the US without a license then they were just calling for this to happen honestly, especially with their association with PTC and HYIP sites which Paypal refuse to work with.
2405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin so down on: March 26, 2018, 07:18:38 AM
Why Bitcoin came so low in 2018 january to march
All the guess people were saying that Bitcoin would touch 25k$ but why did not it happen ?

People were guessing, just because they said that BTC was going to reach $25k doesn't mean that it would actually happen. Markets are extremely volatile, especially in times when pumps were as frequent as back in 2017.

I think that most of it is just natural volatility of bitcoin and the natural cycles in price. BTC had a huge year in 2017 and 2018 was just the time to correct, and that would have happened sooner or later. A bit like 2014, although we have much more long term holders and a lot more adopters this time round with a more mature market.

The catalyst is the negative media coverage on BTC, I guess. Everything was positive in 2017, and suddenly turned negative in 2018, some of which led to some panic dumps which caused BTC to go down.

If you're a long term holder, this shouldn't bother you. This will not impact on BTC's long term profitability as an investment, you may actually load up on some cheap coin while you're at it.
2406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction For 2018 To 2020 on: March 26, 2018, 03:20:08 AM
I believe end hope BTC to USD for December 2018.In the beginning price at 15164 Dollars. Maximum price $18821, minimum price $15164. The average for the month $16685. Bitcoin price forecast at the end of the month $17590,
And my predictions BTC to USD for December 2020.
In the beginning price at 62294 Dollars. Maximum price $72131, minimum price $62294. The average for the month $66033. Bitcoin price forecast at the end of the month $67412,

Do you have even any TA to back this up or are you just chucking up numbers?

Absolutely no use to be so specific in your predictions because it's not going to happen. It's like a gamble. Justify why you think this is going to happen, and give an estimate or range instead of being so damn random and specific.

I'd say that you're so far off with your predictions that you're not even in the vicinity here. BTC could reach $18k this year, but do you really think that it's going to happen since we're clearly in a downward slope at the moment and we're probably consolidating at a lower level gradually throughout the year? Also, I don't think you'll see a pump from $8k to $70k within 2 years. What happened in 2017 was a lot of hype and it's highly unlikely to repeat again within a 2 year span. Just my 2 cents.
2407  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PAYVX IS A SCAM on: March 26, 2018, 03:06:07 AM
I did some research on their team members and none of them seemed to have LinkedIn or any professional sites. Basically either all of their team members are indeed fictional which I think is the case here, or all of their team members just are completely unprofessional and don't know how to market themselves.

Based on that, I think it's clear that there are already several alarm bells ringing.

For the partners that they listed they have no proof of them being actual partners. The links for "Singapore Fintech Association", Access, and Global Compact Network Singapore all redirect back to their own site.

Site is overall poorly designed and rushed as well. Overall it's definitely one ICO to avoid, these scams are really obvious if you put some time into researching.
2408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Copper - the forgotten hedge against inflation on: March 25, 2018, 11:19:19 PM
For several years I have been saying that copper is a good additional metal to hold as part of a diversified portfolio. It doesn't seem to have attracted much attention, although there have been a few instances of people selling copper ingots as investments.

The money GPS has just produced a video which raises the topic of copper as a wealth protection metal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pI8XK-VZbs

I believe that with the new Belt and Road initiative, and various other projects, copper is likely to outpace gold ( but probably not Bitcoin Smiley ).

With the industrial uses of copper it's always going to have a demand. But copper is different from other industrial metals, because previously it was used as currency as well worldwide. It's like a more industrial and volatile version of silver.

I was thinking of investing in copper to diversify my precious metals investments. But I don't know what kindo f copper bullion to buy.

Should i buy scrap metals bit by bit, or should I just go for ingots minted by bullion companies? What kind of denominations/weights should I buy?

I guess if you can get your hands on some copper pennies, that would work as well. @Jet Cash any thoughts on this?
2409  Economy / Exchanges / Re: yobit.net please help me on: March 25, 2018, 07:47:49 PM
I want to witdraw USD but yobit.net ınsprocesing 1 hour

Can you take any screenshots? Just saying please help me and my withdrawal is processing for 1 hour doesn't help explain anything. Does it say transfer from cold storage by any chance, or just pending/processing? How much is involved and what crypto?

To be honest though, you should have expected this before using yobit. If you bothered to do the tiniest bit of research then you would have found tons of negative reviews of yobit and it's all deserved. Withdrawal getting held up by yobit for various reasons is pretty normal.

Only yobit management will be able to help you. So defintiely launch a ticket first, hope for a response, and wait. We cannot do anything to speed that process up here.
2410  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] SmartMix.io - Anonymize your Bitcoin Transactions the Smart Way on: March 25, 2018, 08:34:49 AM
What brought me here is SmartMix.io that stole 2.3 btc from me,is promotion him self here, Iam here to warn the users from this great community and share my bad experience with SmartMix.io to avoid any other make the same mistake as me. You should respect  that, instead of focus how many btc i have and how i work for my btc, its not your business!

Again i have learn a lesson and i will use one of the mixer from here in future

regards

It's been 2 days already. It is probably a scam. There is still a chance that OP may come back but the chances are not favorable here. Even if they do come back, 3 days just to mix your coins with no support and a scare at best case scenario is not what I would want as service when I'm just trying to anonymize my coins. Nor is it "convenient" in any means at all.

The "admin approval" thing could prove to be a threshold at which they will not automatically give you their coins and selectively scam you.

Tryninja is completely spot on. There is no reason for smartmix, a mixing service with no background or reviews to appear second on a review website. Either the site is bogus, or the service has probably paid for them to be on there.

Good to hear that you've learned your lesson, you should open a scam accusation within 2 days if they do not refund you so that they can get tagged as well. Also, I do hope that 2 BTC isn't a big amount for you, cause it would be devastating if I got scammed for 2 BTC for sure. Sad
2411  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KRAKEN STOLE MY BITCOINS on: March 25, 2018, 08:27:09 AM
Seems like a classic case of sending BTC to a different coin's address to me.

It's one of the deadliest yet most common mistakes to make for sure.

By using their service, you are agreeing to a bunch of terms and conditions which do not hold them accountable. It is also clearly stated that you are depositing to a USDT address before you are able to generate one:

Quote
By depositing, I acknowledge that Kraken is not responsible for any coins sent to the wrong address.

While you can try to convince them that they have the moral obligation to refund you the funds, it is true that it takes manual labour to get this done, and if they handled every case that came their way there's probably going to be major disruptions, especially for smaller amounts.

I wish you good luck, but I can't honestly see anything other than an automated reply from them with the same message every time unless you get lucky.
2412  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Best way to profit from Cloud Mining - BitForx.com [Official Thread] on: March 25, 2018, 08:15:42 AM
You claim that you've been mining for 421 days when your site only launched last year - is there any proof for that?

You're also trying to market yourselves as a wallet service, which makes no sense. You're not an exchange, so as I said it makes no sense for anyone to store funds with you. They can easily use electrum or any other desktop client with a load more security.

I have to say that you have provided some video, which is good. But that's not conclusive evidence that you actually own the miners, or you are legit. If you guys decide to pull a runner, thousands of newbies will probably get scammed as a result with no legal recourse available to them.

Based on my personal experience, a legit cloud mining service is never profitable over the long run, and a profitable cloud mining service is never legit.

Just my 2 cents. I would recommend others to not try this site or any other cloud mining site for that matter. It's definitely not a "good investment for newbies", in fact quite the opposite.
2413  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Introducing the CoinTable - Full CryptoCurrency Market Prices coinmarketcap on: March 25, 2018, 07:50:52 AM
The font and overall layout can be improved for sure. Looks terrible at the moment

I do like the intuitive way you present your 1h, 24h, and 7d profit/loss with color coding. I think that really helps a lot to see the general trend and movement of the entire crypto market within a glance, without having to look at numbers.

Some suggestions:

1. Move your ads to another position, under the title is too glaring
2. Have a function for people to submit new coins
3. Number your coins in order of market cap
4. And please, hire a good designer to redesign your site, otherwise nobody is going to use it.
5. Where are the charts??? That's what traders need, right??
2414  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis mining just collapse? on: March 25, 2018, 06:33:53 AM
Genesis was a scam since the beginning. Some people may be defending it by giving 2 constantly repeated examples of why they are legit.
1. They have real miners and are mining
2. They are paying

Both of these things aren't worth much if you know how the scam is built. You offer people lifetime contracts, borrow money from them, buy miners, once people are close to ROI you shut the contract down saying it's not profitable, you keep the miner and all the coins from this point.
The only reason why they're still here is that people can't read, do research and count.

Yep. The 2 reasons they give really don't prove anything.

They may have a mining center that has been on camera that they exhibit to the public. But with their services being ever expanding and the amount of contracts they are signing expanding, there is a high likelihood of them running a fractional reserve with their miners.

Plus, you have no way of verifying that you are getting paid what they're actually getting paid from their mining pool, since they do not audit that data ever.

Genesis mining seems to be suspended in one US state only, and has not collapsed yet. But the risk is always there and I won't invest my money into Genesis Mining for sure.
2415  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: instawallet claim on: March 25, 2018, 06:16:08 AM
I am not responsible for loosing this money. I am only responsible for the 5 year delay. But he surely is responsible, so he should care.

Btw. This is one of the reasons why Bitcoins are still no real competion to classic currencies. A real Bank would have refunded me those euros, dollars or anything... if I cannot trust my bank then it will not be my bank anymore.

The problem is that you are entrusting a third party with your money. And this third party is not regulated by anyone, so the chances of you getting scammed or hacked is much higher. If you used bitcoin like it's supposed to be used, within a wallet which you control everything including the private keys, then none of this would have happened. I don't think it's fair to blame BTC for this happening.

You are indeed not responsible for losing this money. He should refund you because when you used his service you expected that he owed you this amount no matter what.

He should care, but if he doesn't, then what you can do is launch a scam accusation and hopefully he gets tagged for shady behavior. But Tryninja already Pm'd him and based on the non-response you're getting, I don't think he's going to start attending to your case any time soon.
2416  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia accounts being cracked on: March 25, 2018, 05:51:21 AM
Hey @OmegaStarScream

I am glad to see I am not the only one. I got the same, maybe a week ago (just 1 attempt) Nothing to worry in my case. Are you using the same address on this exchange with your bitcointalk account (before the forum get compromised)? I believe some people with the database are simply trying to with the most popular exchanges in case someone used the same password

I'm not using the same email address and I'm very careful about using my email on sites so I'm honestly not sure how someone was able to get it unless It has been leaked from another exchange or something.

Most likely... It's probably a crypto related email leak that has gone undetected and the hacker is trying it out on crypto exchanges.. Otherwise people who do not have their email addresses public should not even be getting any login attempts other than themselves. Unless the hacker is able to brute force his way through email addresses which is unlikely.

Cryptopia is a broken exchange basically, so many complaints and unresponsive and irresponsible support. Also heaps of cases where people lost money because cryptopia had coins basically stolen and refused to compensate the user even partially, even though they were the ones listing them.

I would not use any exchanges to store my funds for this exact reason, especially Cryptopia. Honestly there are way too many warnings already based on past cases that should deter you from storing any funds on exchanges, it's common sense.
2417  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [NEW] BitcoinCashback.net - Never sign up without benefits! on: March 25, 2018, 05:45:45 AM
Do all of your partners actually know that you are providing rakebacks using your referral links and approve you of doing so, or are you sometimes just arranging your own referral link, and giving back some percentage of the referral earnings to whoever signs up under you? If it's the latter option, then it could be risky as you may be in violation of terms and conditions depending on the site you are on.

Also, I noticed that a lot of your partners actually do not give out any extra benefits... What's the benefit for the user to see them if there are no cashbacks available?

But I do like the fact that you're also basically reviewing the site the same time you're offering out your cashbacks. The page design is kind of broken as I can scroll to the right and see a bunch of blank space, but other than that I can see a bright future out of this site if you can partner up with more businesses.
2418  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ExtStock Exchange Official Thread on: March 25, 2018, 05:02:23 AM
We're happy to introduce ExtStock Exchange on Bitcointalk forum.

This is official thread where we'll answer all your questions and proposals.

Our website: https://extstock.com/
Our Twitter: https://twitter.com/extstock

I think the site design is alright, nothing to complain about there.

May I ask if the operators are actively trading on your own site here? Because I find it hard to believe that a new exchange that has just popped up this month is able to generate $1 million+ in trading volume per day all of a sudden.

Since you guys deal with fiat, what are the payment methods by which users are able to deposit and withdraw their fiat funds? Is it bank transfer or online payment services like Advcash? Your FAQ is pretty much empty, I would take some time to fill it in if I were you. I could not find the answer anywhere on the site.
2419  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any way to receive payments through card anonymously? on: March 25, 2018, 04:56:47 AM
Hi Guys,

Is there any way through which my clients can make the payment by using their credit or debit card and i receive the money as bitcoin.
The reason why i am asking this is that few of my clients are filling chargeback even after getting the product or service and my payment processor is giving problem right now.

Thank you,

They can buy bitcoin from virwox, paxful, or localbitcoins at a markup and then use that bitcoin to pay you.

But if your customers are charging you back, then they are probably either using hacked credit cards or they have the intention to charge back on every transaction no matter if the product is actually delivered or not. I would definitely avoid receiving credit card payments directly or even through a payment processor, as the payment processor can hold you liable when someone charges backs.

You should only accept irreversible payments. I would decline credit card payments altogether, only accept BTC or alts for your merchandise/service, and include a guide of how to buy BTC with credit card or other fiat payment methods on your site.
2420  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payza Faces Major Money Laundering Charges in the US on: March 24, 2018, 06:42:07 AM
This ban has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies, but still very surprising as payza has been one of the most active payment processors out there. It's the fact that payza is running an unlicensed remittance service within the USA while condoning ponzi scheme proceeds to go to its users accounts that's the real reason it's got its charges. This is where the "knowingly transmitted funds that were derived from illegal activity." comes from. They knew that their business was being used for ponzis, and they actually are completely fine with it and actually process chargebacks for dead ponzi schemes.

So what they've done now is just exit the USA market and continue their operations overseas, which is exactly what PM has done. And so far the US government hasn't done anything to them simply because they are not operating in the US.

I would definitely not use Payza if it's connected to egopay. I remember quite clearly the time when Egopay went scam. But tbh, you shouldn't ever store money on these shady payment processorcs in the first place. Treat them like exchanges, you only use their service to transact money and not to store money, even though you've got a much better alternative in bitcoin anyways.
