3001  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet recovery phrase - 17 words, not 12 on: December 11, 2017, 08:43:47 AM
Apparently, sending BTC in electrum is not free, because the max amount I can send from my watch-only account to my new account_3 is 0.1 mBTC less than my balance [cursor on the left]. THe fee varies according to how soon I want the transfer to be made. I do not recall this from my usage in 2014. I though sending BTC was free. Is there a way to avoid the fee?

How slow is the option '' within 25 blocks'' ? is it several days, several hours or several 30min?

My goal is to turn the BTCs into USD. so after this transfer on a wallet I control, what do it do?

You can't just "avoid the fee". The miner's fee is paid to whoever mines the block that contains your transaction and a higher mining fee obviously incentivises the miners to confirm your transaction faster than people that paid less than you.

The within 25 blocks will from experience take anywhere between 5-100 blocks to confirm, depending on mempool conditions and the number of unconfirmed transactions.

If you just want to turn your BTC -> USD and is not in a hurry, do like the second or third highest fee option in electrum.
3002  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ltdmining.com - Obvious scam? on: December 11, 2017, 08:40:07 AM
I searched for Antminer S9 on Google, and the first link that shows up is the ltdmining.com shop. They offer brand new Antminers S9 for 1754,99$ and it's in stock...
This is just to good to be true  Huh

I'm going to say that it is an absolute scam because of the fact that it is only established in the recent months and i haven't seen anyone post positive reviews for it. With such a high amount of mining scams out there recently i definitely would avoid the site and not take the risk.

Always ensure that you're buying from an official source, instead of some reseller that is located in china, or so they claim.

Same question here...discounted L3+ that can ship immediately?

I think this is the same scam that was mentioned here. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ltdminingcom/-/ltdminingcom-fdcminingcom-took-over-4703-in-btc-from-me-i-thought-i-was-buying-antmi-1415947

The address is the same

ADDRESS: GONG HE XIN LU 3388HAO YONG DING DA XIA 1018SHI

So I'm going with definite scam unless a regular customer says otherwise :/

Precisely, the address may well be a fake address that has been used previously in a similar setup for a scam. Anyone ordering from them is destined to be ripped off and scammed.
3003  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Account lockout and non-return of money (Yobit) on: December 10, 2017, 09:32:43 AM
Why do people continue to use this exchange for trading and storage? Yobit's risky practice of locking accounts and coins is well-documented here. Sending coins to Yobit is playing a risky dice, almost always in favor of the exchange keeping the coins.

For those who ignore the countless scam reports, I can suggest a few charities who accept bitcoins for a good cause. You would be doing this planet a greater favor by donating your coins to them. It's the exact same thing. When you send coins to Yobit's hot wallet you are donating your coins to this exchange.

Agreed. And since OP has confirmed that it's 1.5 BTC it's a huge amount of BTC to be trusting a random exchange in Russia(or is it even located there, now) that has an absolutely dreadful reputation of being consistently the worst place to trade your coins and has consistently the worst customer support out there.

Even though i'm sure you did nothing wrong, you should have been informed on yobit's shady activities.

Their environment basically is completely toxic, the entire exchange relies on pump and dump coins to operate and wallets are in constant maintenance mode. People's money is stuck in every way you can imagine. OP, if you don't get your money back or even if you do, learn your lesson and don't return with a new account.
3004  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Pulling Bitcoin out of Blockchain.info web wallet on: December 10, 2017, 09:29:24 AM
Hi,

I have purchased BC via Blockchain.info and now I want to pull my coin out in case the company are compromised or disappear. Ideally I want to place my bitcoin into a hardware or paper wallet but I have some questions first if anybody can shed some light please.

1. In Blockchain.info I have been provided with a 12-word recovery phase, is this bespoke to recovering bitcoin from Blockchain.info only or can this phrase be used to recover my Bitcoin via an alternate service in the case that Blockchain.info disappear?

2. To pull my bitcoin out of blockchain I understand that I need the private key. Does anybody know how to extract it from this site? I have searched but just cannot find it.

3. Once I have the private key, is it possible to create both a paper and a hardware wallet or can you only choose one?

4. When you move coin from a web wallet to a paper/hardware wallet should you be paying commission for this move or is it free?

Many thanks for any support

The process of exporting your private keys has been significantly made harder by blockchain.info recently. You used to be able to just hit the export button and export your unencrypted private keys in WIF format ready to go, but now you can't.

The recovery phrase will be able to be imported into wallets such as copay/electrum, any wallet that supports the 12 word mnemonics.

You shouldn't use the exported private keys as your paper wallet even though you could. Create a new wallet, or buy a new hardware wallet. Easiest thing to do is to just get your new wallet and transfer your funds over from blockchain.info. And yes, it'll result in a transaction fee as always.
3005  Economy / Exchanges / Re: after scamming by bittrex, looking for another crypto exchange! on: December 10, 2017, 08:59:14 AM
hey guys
after scamming by bittrex looking for another crypto exchange! , pls suggest the best ones

after alot of searching, ive reached to this ones:

shapeshift -  Livecoins -  binance -  wex.nz -  liqui - etherdelta

ive already know these :
Quote
yobit not recommended
hitbtc awful support
polonox blocking account
bitfinex not recommended

thanks in advance

I use shapeshift a whole lot these days because i simply cannot trust exchanges anymore. Shapeshift has always been able to refund me even when something goes wrong or in most situations they will get my exchange done, no hassles. And their rates are honestly not that bad anymore, it's only like 3-5% premium compared to exchanges, unless you're a high volume trader you can definitely get by just trading with shapeshift. So that gets my vote.

Binance is probably the best exchange out of all your actual exchanges.

Wex is unreliable and so is liqui, Liqui doesn't answer support tickets at all. Etherdelta is decentralized afaik so they should be safe.
3006  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Soo...has Kraken the next victim of hacken? on: December 10, 2017, 08:57:21 AM
Seriously, has Kraken been hacked?

Are all wallet owners at Kraken fucked? Is Kraken the next Mt. Gox?

What's going on over there? They started with last week with BTC currency exchange rates that were off by two decimal points, to now people being unable to log in to their website.

If this is the end of Krakent, it'll be incredibly bad for the Bitcoin community. And it's another less to stay the fuck away from exchanges.

Anyone have any insight? I don't see anyone talking about it on the forum.

I don't hear any news about it either, it doesn't seem like it has been hacked even though weird shit has definitely been happening for the past week like you said account holders not able to log into their accounts on kraken.

As far as anyone knows, kraken is just running on "degraded performance": https://status.kraken.com/

No other sources of news have even mentioned anything about kraken... Maybe nothing is going on.
3007  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's up with the btc price? Should we be worried? on: December 10, 2017, 08:43:41 AM
The price has significantly dropped in last 24 hours. It was so high until yesterday. What's happening?

It's just a correction of BTC's price from the pumps that we've seen for the past week or so. Has been absolutely crazy and obviously wasn't going to be sustainable and now we're in the regression stage of that pump. I don't think it's anything to worry about though.

Actually the adjustment started happening yesterday and now it seems to be bottoming out already.

As I said - perfectly normal, and you should have expected this TBH. Just look at the BTC charts, every single time following a big pump is a big correction and this time is no exception.
3008  Economy / Speculation / Re: YOU ARE ALL STUPID - SELL NOW on: December 10, 2017, 08:35:40 AM
Good God, I've had enough. You will all lose your shirts when bitcoin hits the markets. You are not smarter than the big boys that run the financial industry.

SELL NOW YOU BLIND SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's funny. Where were you when the price was $18k? If you are telling people to sell now you're already taking a 28% haircut, which isn't a good thing to do at all. If YOU are smarter than the big boys that run the financial industry then you should have been able to tell us when the price was peaking, not when the price is going down!

It's a much better decision to make to buy while everyone else is panicking, in my opinion.

Great time to load up on cheap coins, i really don't mind if OP has already sold his BTC... Whether you like it or not, this bull trend should continue well into 2018.
3009  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 3 Months Scammed by POLONIEX on: December 10, 2017, 08:28:58 AM
Fucking scam exchanger
I feel sorry for you but there is literally nothing anyone can do unless you can take a step forward, run to the Washington Department of Cyber Law and file  a case against them with all the legal ways possible. Moreover,if you're from one of the countries they don't accept the deposits from, you will be left there to hang dry.

Lesson Learnt : Do Not Store Coins On Exchanges.

Yeah, better go with the true ones. You can recognize them by their boosted morale and legitimacy.

What do you mean the true ones?

Basically every major exchange has one problem or another. I used to think that bittrex is the perfect alternative for poloniex since they screwed up their act but i was dead wrong - every single person has been complaining about bittrex ignoring their support ticket and not letting them withdraw their money and/or verify their account even though they've provided the right information with them.

It's just an unwritten rule these days. Even the major exchanges will screw you up, so don't store what you can't afford to lose and get your coins out as soon as you do the exchange.
3010  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cigspot, the cigarette service that never ships on: December 09, 2017, 09:01:47 AM
Hi lads,

Just a heads up, I was scammes by Cigspot last year or so. I ordered 3 pack and he magically changed the website after my order to stop offering refunds for my country, how convenient. I exposed him back then also but I think it's necessary that nobody gives this fucker any coins even with his new marketing bullshit going on.

I'm just posting here to say that now he has access to emails of bitcointalk users (probably from bitcointalk breach) and spams using mailchimp and on linkedin.

Cheers,
Q.

You should use the scam report format and include proof.

I really find it hard to believe that a site would selectively scam for the price of 3 packs of cigs, and do so by changing specific rules for just one order. I'm not saying that i don't believe you but does the admin have a personal grudge against you?

And even if he doesn't accept refunds for your country, compensating for an unshipped shipment does not count as "refunding" at all.
3011  Economy / Lending / Re: Investment Oppurtunity - Read Carefully, Please. on: December 09, 2017, 07:32:36 AM
-snip-

Agreed. My advice would also be just waiting it out since the rewards for the lender is simply way too small for a big risk as both you and magneto pointed out. Even though you have every right to be doing this, and you've listed all the risks, i doubt anyone will be able to fill this investment/loan for you.

Even if Sweeet is legit there are factors out of his control that may affect his ability to repay.

But if you just decide to leave the thread up to see if there are any potential suitors, then go ahead. It doesn't bother me Smiley
3012  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: What price will BTC top out at? on: December 09, 2017, 06:48:30 AM
Pick the option that is closest to your guess, "Price is Right" style. Me, personally, I'm guessing about $15k, but I have no idea what percentage of the final poll results that number will be.

Around $25-26k would be my guess.

Although, it could be possible that the current all time high is going to be the all time high for years to come. Nobody knows for sure though since right now the price has indeed gone down but not by that much at all.

I am shaking my head at those who voted $15,000 in this poll. Bitcoin has shot past that and is now at about $16,500. The momentum is just overwhelming. Assets don't just skyrocket and then crumble -- right as a technological revolution has just begun. I think this is way too early to call it a top.

I am among one of the respondents who was wrong -- so $25,000?

Its just nuts to think that BTC can go much higher when this is already the biggest commodity bubble of all-time.

I sense heavy Wall Street manipulation at work here.

Just when you think the going's about to get great, and you've convinced your parents to invest in some, that's when the W.S. shorters and manipulators will crush the price to achieve maximum gain.

This is no longer a free-floating entity. It is now directly tied to Wall Street, who know how to do one thing and one thing only: make money.

Moral of the story: be careful out there!

So true! The thing is BTC really sees no top at the moment and nobody can tell when this is going to actually blow up in pieces. IT could be $1 million before it bursts, it could be now. It's unpredictable in all fronts.
3013  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Primedice ( Targeting old VIP users ) on: December 09, 2017, 05:52:46 AM
I don't know what exactly went on but the support doesn't really seem like she knows what she is doing. She basically said that she will unmute you when you make a deposit, but then backed out of her offer apparently.

But seems like also that Stunna has managed to resolve your issue so you should lock the thread if that is the case.

Faucet farming is probably causing this entire thing, and is making everyone's lives unpleasant. I guess adding something that can defend against faucet farmers rather than just a captcha is needed.
3014  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Deposited € 5 days ago but Coinbase still does not show it on: December 09, 2017, 04:52:14 AM
Hi

On Wednesday morning last week I went to the bank and transferred €6000 to Coinbase. It has still not showed up yet!

Is that normal? It seems very slow and I'm chomping at the bit to get my money split three ways to Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin...

Tx
Mark.

The ETAs on their site means nothing. It could really take weeks/months before your funds arrive, we don't know.

Your best bet is probably asking support about it and even then they will probably ignore all of your tickets for some time before responding to any of them. But at least you'll get some sort of response hopefully, eventually.

IF you ever need to invest with your funds quick, never trust on coinbase. They have the worst support, worst processing speeds and just don't care about their customers.
3015  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex,how long i have to wait? on: December 09, 2017, 04:22:49 AM

Please wait while your information is being verified. Sorry for the inconvenience.

60 BTC cannot withdraw

 Angry Angry Angry

Are you serious? That's nearly a million dollars in current prices and if you can't withdraw that much money from your exchange account it really must be freaking you out right now.

I had the same issue with the basic verification with the no public records match thing, and i haven't bothered to actually follow up with the enhanced verification because honestly i didn't think it was worth the hassle for the $10 or so worth of alts in my account.

I don't know how long it's going to take but it's definitely not supposed to take more than a week. Contact their support or reach out on twitter/slack, dunno if they gonna respond though.
3016  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where do exchanges get the $ for people to withdraw? on: December 09, 2017, 04:16:40 AM
Hey guys, so this has been bothering me for a while and I can't seem to understand it and few seem to talk about it. So we all know Bitcoin is a commodity that have no real $ backing by anyone other than online exchanges. The prices are hyper inflated and are vastly outweigh the actual money being poured into Bitcoin since inception. So why should any exchange liquidated the bitcoin for real cash? and where would they even get their $ from? this would seem like a huge risk to them, giving their clients actual USD while holding only a speculative asset with no real world backing. Does anyone have insights?

An exchange is simply an orderbook.

Think about it as a middleman who handles trades. An exchange is exactly that. An exchange has absolutely no risk whatsoever in facilitating trades because all of its assets if they are running a full reserve should be the customer's. If they are running a fractional reserve then tehy are actually using some of the customer funds to speculate on something else perhaps, again they are carrying 0 risks and the customer is the one that has the most risk.

Even if BTC crashes to 0, exchanges are unaffected, they are only liable to pay out what the customer is storing.

The traders are the ones that is going to lose, not the exchanges. They always make money with fees.
3017  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase account closed with pending tx?! on: December 09, 2017, 04:11:21 AM
My co worker linked his bank account via instant verification 4 days ago and then immediately made 3 tx which were all pending still today. When he went to log in it said his account was closed? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I honestly do not know what's going to happen. Usually coinbase does have pending txs in accounts even though there is no reason for it to happen, and it could stay that way for weeks/months. But not sure what's the precedure now that your account is closed.

They should have let you withdraw all the stored funds before closing your account, and the pending txs are all a part of your balance since it hasn't been sent out yet.

Honestly, you should contact support about it even though they may not offer a reply for a long time.
3018  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FURIOUS with Coinbase! on: December 09, 2017, 03:20:29 AM
I deposited a large chunk from my bank account (EU ESTA transfer) to Coinbase on Weds last week 29 Nov.
On Friday December 1st in the morning, the funds were drawn from my account.
Today is 4+ full working days later, Coinbase have not responded to ANY of my support queries about where my money is, and the money is still not available. VERY annoying considering the price increase over the last 24 hours!!!!

AAAAGGHHHH I feel so helpless and ripped off, it seems they are benefiting from my cash and are withholding it intentionally. OR they are utterly incompetent. What can I do?

Mark.

And the thing that is most frustrating in this scenario isn't even the fact that they are not crediting your account with the money but rather their lack of communication. Even if they just give you a date for the deposit hitting your account it still feels a lot better as a customer.

Hopefully after a few days you'll be able to get your money in your account, though. The BTC pump has probably hit you quite hard since you're dealing with a fiat deposit. But at least there has been a correction for you recently.

And i just received an email from coinbase about investing securely, this isn't the way to run a business.
3019  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex LTC wallet issue. on: December 09, 2017, 03:11:22 AM
Hi there, now I can not deposit LTC as the system does not give me an LTC wallet address on Bittrex.

Any other one having the same issue?

Works fine with me just like the rest of the people.

I would say that it's probably something wrong with your browser or something. Clear your cookies, try in incognito, or even just switch browsers to see if it works because i'm pretty sure that it works for everyone else here as well.

Is this problem only for LTC or for all crypto deposits?

If it's for all then it just increases the likelihood of what i said to be true.
3020  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin Cross $50,000 on: December 08, 2017, 11:57:17 PM
Bitcoin is going high with the speed of light. Its not too far when bitcoin will cross $50,000. The question is do you want the bitcoin to cross $50,000 in 2017 or in next years?

It's not about when you want it to be.

It happens, it happens. Simple as that. But we can always make predictions.

First of all, we don't know whether $50k is going to happen yet. There could be a huge downturn with bitcoin's price and all of a sudden people are worried about bitcoin crashing to sub-$10k levels, let alone going to $50k. Things can change in a bear market.

If the market does want it to happen, then probably next July-August is the most likely timeframe for me personally for $50k to be hit.
