3041  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain - Account emptied overnight? on: December 07, 2017, 06:55:51 AM
Thanks Potato Chips for your reply,

Not the best news and not a total fortune lost...but it was sad to see them go. I hadn't checked my account in years and to my surprise, I had about .008 BTC in there. It was worth nothing back then and is worth about $1k today, I was so excited to follow over the last couple of weeks and now its gone again. The worst bit is I can see it sitting there at its destination

If the funds have been sent from its original address to an unknown address that is out of your control then indeed, it is a compromised address. Your computer is likely to have been hacked or controlled by someone you don't know.

You should either factory reset your computer or at the very least, run a good antivirus and make sure thaty ou don't store excessive amounts of BTC on your computer.

Have you tried viewing your wallet by importing the recovery seed into a wallet such as Copay/Electrum, though?
3042  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is earning interest on freebitco a good thing? on: December 07, 2017, 06:51:34 AM
Hello everyone. As per the title, I would like to know if it is wise for me to keep my BTC in the freebitco account to earn the interest. I just hit minimum as I hv just started a couple of months ago

I am still learning on BTC. It is ver expensive to buy in my currency right now

If you are just getting interest on whatever you earned from freebitco.in then that's definitely a good thing, even though the amounts that you will earn from interest is probably not going to be a lot at all.

However if you are considering to actually make an investment actively into their company, i doubt it's a good idea.

You can probably get much more interest on your investment from trading altcoins relatively safely than letting them hold your BTC and have no idea whether or not they are going to remain legit.
3043  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Genesis-Mining hasn't paid me for 4 months - BIG INVESTMENT - BE CAREFUL! on: December 06, 2017, 08:58:00 AM
They pretty much admitted that they had an issue with missing payouts so i don't doubt your claim at all. Also it's funny because every single time you contact them they have to contact the IT team and get back to you, absolutely horrendous customer service.

Since they recognized that there were a ton of missing payouts though, hopefully it means that they will eventually reimburse the investors that have suffered from this as a result of this bug that we're seeing from their end.

I would NOT trust genesis mining with a single cent based on all these accusations rising up.
3044  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Genesis Mining ticket open for more than 7 months on: December 06, 2017, 08:53:08 AM
At least you got some of your money back in mining revenue, right? A chargeback wouldn't really be feasible anyways since the price of bitcoin has risen so much anyways, you're probably going to be getting a small percentage of what you started with in terms of bitcoin.

This example is one of the reasons why i personalyl do not like investing in cloud mining at all, your profits are entirely under the control of the company operating the cloud mining company. You have no say in how much profit is distributed and no audits are carried out either.

Hopefully this is a wake up bell for all, since simply closing support tickets without comment is one of the worst things you can do to a customer in my opinion.
3045  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price correction -10k- on: December 06, 2017, 08:49:56 AM
Hi, after the fast pushing of bitcoin price last days ( which bringa it to >11k $ ) an analysis reports that a pullback correction is still possible with 10k$
To read the full report : https://www.coindesk.com/adrenaline-rush-over-bitcoin-eyes-12000-but-correction-possible/

Correction is definitely going to happen, no doubt about it. Every single pump has been scattered along with pullbacks and corrections, and nothing ever goes up without any corrections.

It just doesn't happen like that in the history of investing. The thing that matters is the extent of the correction/pullback, in my opinion. Is it going to go back to a pre-$10k era or is it going to experience a correction but stay on top of the $10k level?

Personally, the correction is only going to be a short term obstacle in the long term bullishness of bitcoin. Take advantage of the correction by buying into btc.
3046  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is so costly. Why would that be? on: December 06, 2017, 08:23:10 AM
Bitcoin is so costly on the off chance that it will be changed over to my nation's money it will cost hundred of thousands. Why bitcoin worth that much even its lone a digital money would someone be able to give me a thought.

Bitcoin is divisible. Just because one bitcoin is worth tens of thousands doesn't mean that you cannot pay for a cup of coffee or anything like that. You are still able to do day to day transactions without any problem,s it's just that you'll be dealing with decimal points.

Right now, the pump is generated by the fact that bitcoin is now a household name.

Simple economical theory, the more demand by more people, the higher the price will be for an asset. And with bitcoin on the verge of becoming mainstream, it's no surprise that its price is going up by the week.
3047  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitblender support on: December 06, 2017, 07:57:20 AM
Thanks guys. . .
I am certain I am on the real bitblender site. I have been using them for a while now, have no complaints just wanted to be sure their support actually works, or if there were alternative means of reaching them.

They should be responsive on support, just wait a bit man. No need to start panicking if you've used them multiple times before and everything went smoothly. Plus, it's only been a few hours lol. They may be sleeping or whatever.

What's the problem anyways?

If you don't get a response just PM their forum account, though it's been last active 1 month ago so not sure if you can get a response instantly.
3048  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: question about Genesis Mining on: December 03, 2017, 09:35:59 AM
so I bought 1.5 T/has of Bitcoin mining contracts on Genesis mining last week when they had them available again.  I also have 5mh of Eth mining.

The Eth payouts occur daily and I get like 0.0008 eth.

My Bitcoin payouts haven't happened for like a week now, the first 3 days i got about 5000 satoshis or something each day and now I get nothing?

what's the deal?

Maybe it's because the payment amounts are below the dust amount so they will accumulate amounts until you get enough to get paid out. Or, perhaps your contract has already been terminated because it is no longer covering maintenance fees.

More likely the former since you seem to only have bought your contract a few days back.

You should ask their support instead of writing on their thread, i don't think that their thread is being managed that actively by a PR member.
3049  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: coinbase question on: December 03, 2017, 09:29:18 AM
I guess this is the right place to put this?
I know I'll never get an answer from Coinbase, so I'll ask you guys.
I transfered 1 BTC to GDAX, thinking I might want to sell it at $10,000 (OMG, $10,000!!).  Changed my mind, and I'm going to put it over in coinbase for a day or two.  So anyway, it shows I have exactly 1, but when I go to 'free' transfer to Coinbase, it shows .993xxx BTC max, which is $64 less than a full bitcoin.  Can't figure out why, coinbase transfers should be free.  Guesses?

1. It could be $10k limits that you have talked about.
2. It could be transactions fees charged on the transaction, perhaps a bug on coinbase's side.

Best thing to do is probably just send the max amount now and contact support to see what's going on. At least you are still able to send the vast majority of your funds and the amount that is unable to be sent is under 0.01 BTC.

Personally, i have no idea.
3050  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sacmmer in localbitcoins on: December 03, 2017, 08:10:48 AM
you should be pretty careful on localbitcoins. there are other bitcoin exchanges that provide more security

Localbitcoins from experience provides one of the smoothest trading experiences out there. I trust the platform to provide escrow more than major exchanges, since usually their support do not answer on time but LBC support is a lot more responsive.

An audit shouldn't even be necessary, but could be helpful.

This has also been a problem in paxful recently. If you're trading with low trust profiles then never do deals with them from a distance. In person deals for small ammounts can be beneficial for both and also earn them a good amount of trust too before going in distance trades.

Yeah. Well there will be scammers anywhere, even when there is escrow. That's why high rep is always favored.
3051  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Looks like my money is stuck in Bittrex FOREVER! on: December 03, 2017, 08:07:40 AM
Bittrex holds peoples money as hostage!! Why can't I withdraw my own hard-earned money?
I deposited 0.65 BTC a month ago, after that I wanted to withdraw my BTC but my withdraw limit is 0, so I tried to do the enhanced verification but I failed, and then Bittrex said that my documents need to be manually viewed. So I sent my documents to Bittrex support in no time. After a month, I still have not received any response. If they don't reply, my money will be stuck in this exchange forever! Can you guys tell me how long it usually takes to get a response from Bittrex support? By the way, I misplaced my first and last name when taking the basic verification, will Bittrex support reject my verification because of that? Thanks!

No guarantees whatsoever on the timing. Actually you'd be lucky if you get a response from them within the year, because i've seen others wait for weeks for their verification to be done. Especially when your case is quite special, since it involves a misplaced first and last name.

It technically shouldn't affect your eligibility to get an enhanced verficitaion account, since you are providing the right docs and they probably can tell that you got your first name and last name backwards.

But as i said, it's all about time here. If this drags on long enough your money could potentially be stuck there forever, if they get hacked or whatever and you can't withdraw before an incident.
3052  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase. REDUCE YOUR FEES !!! on: December 03, 2017, 07:46:33 AM
Coinbase is the best place in my opinion to buy crypto.... easy, convenient and nice interface, however lately their fees are ridiculous especially for those buying small amounts under £20, $20

I would like to buy approx £20 of BTC a week/month... however this incurs a £1.5 fee, thats 7.5%, pretty pricy

If I want to buy £10 worth it costs £1, 10%.... unless your buying £100 + then Coinbase fees are just to high for the small time investor.

Unfortunately, that is going to be coinbase for you. It is going to be pricey as hell.

If you want a good deal on your coin and you are able to get all the paperwork and ID into a licensed exchange then maybe buy via bank wire through an exchange such as kraken. I'm not sure where you live, though. So it may not be supported.

Exchanges have drastically smaller spreads as well as fees compared to coinbase, since whales trade on it and it's not a vendor type company like coinbase is. You can easily research available exchanges in your country.
3053  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mining through Website...Legit or not? on: December 03, 2017, 06:00:47 AM
Hi! I have an account in a mining website. Are these websites legit? If yes, how they're doing this mining? If no, why you say so? Explain please.

If you are talking about startminer here then it's 100% scam.

Let's go through some of their claims:

1. Free 0.0002 BTC per day for doing nothing. That is literally a free $2+ per day doing nothing, if they are legit, why isn't everyone abusing their system and creating infinite amounts of accounts?
2. Multiple tiers of investments. All of which is unrealistic. Apparently you can buy a plan for 0.05 BTC and expect 0.01 BTC per day returns?
3. Absolutely no proof of miners.
4. Site is poorly designed, does not scale properly.

I would avoid at all costs if i were you.
3054  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Free accelerator on: December 03, 2017, 05:39:32 AM
Confirmtx is a dubious choice, because we don't know whether or not they actually have partnerships like they claim with btc.top, antpool, bixin, basically all the leading pools.

Bitcoin.com pool says that they have absolutely nothing to do with them, yet they said that they had a partnership with confirmtx. But since it's free up to 400 bytes, you could probably try it out anyways. But definitely don't pay for their services.

For me, antpool's acceleration service is the best and quickest. You need an account though: https://www.antpool.com/user/prioritiseTransaction.htm?m=savePrioritiseTx
3055  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: NEVER USER/TRUST SELLY.GG FOR ANY REASON! on: December 02, 2017, 10:03:01 AM
Don't trust any autobuy links, including selly.gg. It's honestly as simple as that. There is no difference between sending first to a seller than buying from selly.gg, you are technically not provided with any escrow services.

Always, always use an escrow, preferably on bitcointalk.

That is your ultimate buyer protection right there, not an autobuy website.
3056  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sacmmer in localbitcoins on: December 02, 2017, 09:54:14 AM
Hello
yesterday a buyer named Nikfon has disputed a trade and he created a screenshot that he had sent 500$ to my payeer account i checked my account there are no money and take a screenshot from history there are no transaction and post it the the chat but i afraid the ADMIN go with the buyer side because he uploaded fake screenshot, what can i do more to proof i`m not received the money ?

Nikfon has no trades before and his account created from one day i have +70 trades account older than one year

If you see this type of behaviour you should first present your side of the story. The admin of your trade will not listen to just one party, rather have both parties present their case. I'm sure that if you are willing to prove your case, the admin will believe you instead of a 0 trade newbie.

Don't panic too much, because these things do happen once in a while.

In future, don't forget to check people's rep before trading with them. Don't trade with anyone with under 10 trades.
3057  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining ? Tell me About it please on: December 02, 2017, 09:38:10 AM
Cloud Mining ? Tell me About it please

I am wondering what exactly is cloud mining?

IS this more less I can invest into a mining system? but don't have to actually have the hardware in my house? I just handle the controls from a remote location?

more less invest in as a shareholder? or really how does this work? information please

Basically what you think it is.

They "claim" that they are hosting miners for you, but often the company may not actually be legit, aka running a ponzi scheme of some sort without actually having anything real to back up their claims. Even if they are legit, you're probably not going to make any money off them.

I would defintiely stay away from these cloud mining companies.
3058  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ConfirmTX.com's Free bitcoin transaction acceleration & New Block Notifications on: December 02, 2017, 09:23:11 AM
Sorry to say that I don't feel bad for anyone who got scammed after page 3 in this thread.
I tried to warn everyone that this was most likely scam but people continued to send the OP btc.

Yeah, i stopped using them after i realised that they were using free tools available to anyone and charging money for it. You can actually submit a transaction of any size without a fee in viabtc's or antpool's transaction accelerator.

Worse, they seem to be interested in doing an ICO for this. And they are renting out ad space on their site as well.

I would not send any amount of crypto to them, for their service.
3059  Economy / Speculation / Re: is that bitcoin price will crash after $ 10K? on: November 29, 2017, 10:10:05 AM
Why some people telling that bitcoin price will crash after hitting $10000?.
I don't think it will happen.
How about you guys do you think the price will crash or continue to rise.?

This is not going to happen.

Usually when a price roof is broken through, the momentum makes the price keep rising for at least a few more weeks. A crash right now will be a complete surprise to me, and even though it can definitely happen and flash crashes have happened before, the support at $10k is too strong.

When $11000 is breached, it'll just reinforce this idea.
3060  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Will Reach $40,000 in 2018? on: November 29, 2017, 10:03:56 AM
Billionaire hedge fund legend and former Fortress executive Mike Novogratz believes the bitcoin price will “easily reach” $40,000 by 2018.what do you think?

Not a bad prediction to make, and much more realistic than John McAfee's prediction of $500k by 2020. But i wouldn't put my money on it if it was a 50/50 bet. Most likely thing t ohappen is probably price staying put or dropping a bit down below $10000.

Though we all know how quickly bitcoin can rise, and there is every means possible for $40000 or even $50000 to be reached before the bubble bursts.

That's why it's important to always keep some BTC stashed away somewhere, to take advantage of bull markets.
