This Hedge Fund Manager Just Said Bitcoin $400,000 Is Easy

https://bitconnect.co/bitcoin-news/785/this-hedge-fund-manager-just-said-bitcoin-400000-is-easy/

What's your opinion?

He's feeding into the hype for sure.

It could definitely happen but it will happen because of hype and speculation, and a full on mania. Potentially some market manipulation as well. So don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that it won't happen. But it won't happen because of adoption. Bitcoin will be seen as a speculative tool to make money instantly and get rich from home by that stage, nobody will realise what it is truly useful for.

But his logic isn't wrong. Honestly from 0 in 2008 to 1300 in 2013 was the biggest achievement BTC had. Now with so much media coverage BTC can literally go anywhere.
3022  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 on: December 08, 2017, 11:13:00 PM
Hello,

Its been a while.

Imagine for a second that we are nearing the blow off top, I'm looking out for where we might ultimately form a new baseline (background)

I'm going to say ~$3700 looks good

As you all know, this run up started around $200

$200 to $3700 is $3500 increase. If we do a fib retrace of 78.6%, working the math we end up with that $3500 representing 12.4% of the overall expected gain before it corrects. That gives 3500/0.124 => $16300 gain.

$16,300 + starting point of $200 = $16,500

Hasn't it already hit more than that? Probably topped it by $1000 or more on Bithumb, but even US exchanges have hit this pretty sure.

Your predictions could well come true and we see BTC top out at somewhere around that region. At the same time we may see a lot more rallies happening and this is only the beginning of these future rallies. Honestly, it's quite early to tell.

Personally i'm leaning towards another ATH soon, no offense to your analysis but i think the markets are just way too bullish for this current ATH to last for long.
3023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we gonna see Bitcoin fall back a bit for those who wish to invest? on: December 08, 2017, 11:06:15 PM
Bitcoin's current price is: $18.275.40 USD
that is off the charts!
Are we gonna experience a slight fallback to ~$12K or will this steady rise last long?
thanks for posting

Most probably, we will see some sort of fallback before the next rally.

$12k could happen, but perhaps the correction we saw from $17k back to around $15k was already a large enough correction to push us over to the next rally. I have no idea what exactly is going to happen but if you want to invest in BTC for the long term you might as well start doing it bit by bit with your money now.

Don't always wait because you'll probably miss the bottom. Instead acknowledge that you probably will never time it 100% right and buy 5% every single day until you get up to your goal.
3024  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price reaches $15,000+ on: December 08, 2017, 10:24:54 PM
And we're actually a lot further up with the pricing now on the major Korean exchange Bithumb. Honestly this is amazing to see and i definitely regret selling off any bitcoins before the $10k mark was hit, i still regret that to this day lol.

It'll be interesting to see though whether this can be sustained for a longer amount of time.

Obviously, you have to expect some corrections to happen. But how far those corrections can go is the question here. This is happening all in a very short timeframe and has outpaced any pumps for the last few months, i'm actually a bit worried by it.
3025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Bitcoin price will be $70.000 end of 2018? on: December 08, 2017, 09:58:21 PM
The thing is past performance will never be a good indicator of future performance. While i still believe that bitcoin will go up for at least the next 2-3 months i don't think that $70k is going to happen, it's just too big of a number even in the best of scenarios.

I'd say 50-60k max, and then we'll see some profit takers causing panic dumping.

End of 2018 could see BTC peak like I said at $50-60k, or it could see bitcoin go through a series of corrections that brings it price down below $10k.
3026  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 50% correction on BTC possible? on: December 08, 2017, 09:52:58 PM
With the current continuing rise of Bitcoin price, we expect a correction coming soon. Do you it can reach around 50%? Give us your thought and own prediction.

50%? I'd say no way in the short run, the markets are way too bullish for that huge of a correction.

But when the inevitable crash does happen then it can easily go under 50% of whatever bitcoin's value is at the peak of the bubble for sure. The 2013 bubble ended with the price troughing as low as 10-20% of its peak value, actually. And even though i don't think BTC will crash as much this time round, i think 50% could still happen.

Most likely thing when the big correction does come is first we go down under $10k. Then, we'll settle at around $8-9k before another adjustment. But we're still a long way from that imo.
3027  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Account lockout and non-return of money (Yobit) on: December 08, 2017, 09:42:51 PM
Good afternoon,
I am one of the founders of the coin that is traded on their stock exchange, 4 days ago the Yobit exchange blocked my account. The official and only answer I received is: The account is blocked for spam of micro-orders and system overload.
The rules do not, and why they blocked me, they do not answer me.
Twelve tickets were created and not one-time personal messages were written to the admins on the exchange. No answer. Before the lock on my account was equivalent to 1.5 bts.
I hope I'm in vain panicky ahead of time and yet I'll get an answer from them to tickets or mail

1.5 BTS or 1.5 BTC? Because BTS is obviously worth a lot less and i doubt you'd be this worried, and if it's BTC then it's worth a lot more for sure.

What did you even do to trigger the ban? they say that it's because of spamming microorders but i really doubt that they have that clause written anywhere in their terms and conditions(i could be wrong, though). And as long as you executed orders that were above their minimum, how can they possibly say that you were the one at fault here?

Seems bullshit and a way to selectively scam someone out of their money to me.
3028  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 3 Months Scammed by POLONIEX on: December 08, 2017, 09:37:14 PM
The worst thing about it is that literally there is nothing that you can do to help aid the situation. Apart from waiting, of course. When you have an issue with poloniex it's literally the stuff of nightmares because you know the exchange is functional yet you'll never get your money back on time. Just horrendous customer support that has always been this way since probably April.

I've quit using poloniex and even bittrex, because both have locked accounts without warning.

I hope you can get your money back soon, man.
3029  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has NIcehash been hacked? on: December 08, 2017, 10:22:03 AM
No, but they did rob their customers and claim they were hacked.

That could have been the case, but we don't know. They could have legitimately gotten hacked, but then there is no proof for either of these scenarios honestly. All you can do is speculate right now and either way, i don't think it helps you any more or less to get your money back.

If you want to take their word for it, go ahead. But there is also suspicion that they have pulled a runaway scam.

From the start though, you shouldn't have stored anything more than what you could afford to lose on their site. It wasn't supposed to be a wallet.
3030  Economy / Speculation / Re: will we see bitcoin price 20k by jaunary 1st 2018 on: December 08, 2017, 10:13:50 AM
will we see bitcoin price continue going up or will it crash?

My personal guess would be it'll keep going up to a point where there is just no more gas left in the tank, then it'll crash. But we're not there yet, probably some point next year would be my guess. $20k by january would definitely be possible.

We've already hit $18k on coinmarketcap(though highest on bitfinex is only like $16.5k i think), and probably still going at this point.

Just need one final push before $20k is breached. Honestly, hell of a ride. We were only at $10k like a week or two ago and now we here.
3031  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Parabolic Rise on: December 08, 2017, 10:04:43 AM
Whatever you guys say, this isn't natural and organic growth.  Hell...  this isn't even sustainable in the medium terms and somebody's gotta give.  And that's most likely the bulls imho.  How much more pumpers can keep this up until mid 2018?

Then again, it might only be me who's getting scared.  Answer the poll and make me feel better.  Lol.  Cheesy

I've sold early numerous times now so i'm a bit scared that this time it's just going to be a bear trap.

But as you said, this isn't sustainable growth at all. No way is bitcoin continue to grow at 5% a day, let alone 5% per week which would basically mean 4x bticoin's price every single year. But recently we're seeing 10-20% per day pretty frequently increases.

We have no idea of predicting when the bubble is going to fully burst, though. It might be next year, it might go on until the end of the decade. BTC may even go to $1 million as Mcafee said it would. Nobody knows, but it is already a bubble by this point.
3032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to be a bitcointalk campaign manager? on: December 08, 2017, 09:28:33 AM
For those campaign managers out there good day and to everyone reading this thread. I would just like to know how to become a campaign manager I am so keen to know because I was also an account manager on my day job. What would be the qualifications? I am also willing to be trained and be an assistant for free. Feel free to comment here guys.

You build up your reputation, and contribute positively to the community. Really simple as that. Then you can probably put out a thread to say that you are offering these services and hopefully someone would hire you as a campaign manager.

TBH though, there is already plenty of campaign managers out there that are highly qualified for their job, you'll probably find it hard to get a head start.

Best of luck to you though.
3033  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nicehash, exit scam? on: December 08, 2017, 08:49:59 AM
According to their video chat, they ll be back soon. They want to repay us our money just do not know how or when. Buauauaua, what a BS.

Just hope they do but do expect the worst... I have not seen these type of companies come back from the dead honestly. If they do it is truly a miracle. And even if they have good intentions to begin with and they have indeed gotten hacked, think about it, who would trust them after these events? probably nobody. And to pay off their debts they need some source of income ,nad if nobody trusts them, how are they going to do it?

Either way, it's a huge messup, either intentionally or unintentially.

I would consider whatever i have on that site gone for good.
3034  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain - Account emptied overnight? on: December 08, 2017, 08:31:31 AM
Not this again. CryptoSpaceMonkey, before we can help you and not leave it all to speculation, you should give us the transaction ID in question, the BTC addresses and the URL to the site you used.

Ty.

The URL is obviously blockchain.info so we don't need that again. Address and TXID wouldn't be any use either since we don't know who owns the address and he probably used a disposable address anyways to cover his trails.

Cryptospacemoney, since you said that teamviewer was running, then there could be a chance that your funds have been obtained by the hackers that way. Obviously no guarantees, but it is a plausible explanation though idk how that could have happened without an internet connection.

Also did you say that you transferred your private keys from a paper wallet to your blockchain.info wallet?
3035  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin is going to hit $20000 ? on: December 07, 2017, 08:19:20 AM
although we don't know when the price is going to hit $20k, we can only predict the price still increase in january next year and I predict that the price will hit in that month or less. and if we calculate the price before, we only need few weeks to reach the higher price. this is good for bitcoin because more people will see bitcoin make a new price level.

Yeah that was what i was thinking as well.

Basically, it's going to be pretty easy for bitcoin to get to $20k. I mean we've already broken the 5 figure barrier and that was the real barrier before the year long bitcoin rally just starts to go parabolic. $20k is only doubling the price we're seeing now, not difficult whatsoever(actually less than 2x at current prices).

The timing is what will be interesting to see though. Will we see pullbacks pause the progress we've made or will this just be a smooth run all the way up? I would say january next year as well, but maximum february or start of march.
3036  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin prices is go Down in 2018? on: December 07, 2017, 08:13:56 AM
The Bitcoin graph is going up and up, the popularity of bitcoin increasing day by day.
Will bitcoin prices is go Down in 2018? What will happen with Bitcoin?

Who knows? Honestly your best bet is probably keep some of your investments/assets in bitcoin and a small portion in fiat and whatever else you are interested in investing to begin with. Bitcoin has proven that it can indeed go mainstream and gain some widespread media coverage. If you want my personal view on this i'd say that albeit some small corrections, the general scope of things will still be up in 2018.

Absolutely no reason why this current adoption rate can't continue, and adoption = increase in price.

It may even speed up compared to this year, actually.
3037  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happened with NiceHash? on: December 07, 2017, 07:25:47 AM
Nobody knows. They claim that they have gotten hacked but they haven't yet tallied upthe amount of BTC lost apparently. So whether you will get your funds back fully or partially will probably sit on how much they have actually gotten hacked out of. If it's a small amount then they are likely going to compensate their users one way or another, if it's a big loss perhaps they'll launch tokens or whatever.

But it's way too early to say anything.

There's always a chance that they're using this as an excuse to exit scam, as well.
3038  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Nicehash, exit scam? on: December 07, 2017, 07:11:04 AM
They have been hacked and lost huge amount of Bitcoins https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2537342.0  They messed up big time. All of investors are screwed up. They have weak security that why hacker stole funds from them. I don't think nicehash will be able to recover that huge amount. This is bad. They've been down for many hours now or even a day now. They said it will open soon. But i don't think they will be back. This is their exit. This is why i don't trust cloudmining. It's a shady business.

there is no way they can recover from this. and i find their announcement very disturbing. if i am reading this correctly, they kept most or all of their BTC in a hot wallet. what kind of legitimate operation stores thousands of BTC on an online server in this day and age?

for that reason, it appears to be an exit scam. they are trying to appear incompetent to make off with millions of dollars and go live on an island somewhere. this is the classic exit scam formula we have come to recognize in this space.

I think they want to perform BTC-e's trick by saying some coins and money lost forever. So offer us taking some percents of our balance and be satisfy! After that they will do their business by new brand.

i don't think it's the same as BTC-e. in that case, the US government immediately issued a press release about indicting BTC-e and arresting one of its alleged owners. i don't think BTC-e was an exit scam at all, and i was pleasantly surprised when they partially refunded customers. they've also refunded ~10% of the debt tokens they issued to cover the losses.

That is spot on, mate. Which legitimate bitcoin company that has apparently so long of experience with large sums of bitcoins and hashing power would leave their customer's funds exposed in a hot wallet? Where is the security that every single one of these hacked companies have promised? Don't they know how to diversify their storage methods, having multiple hot/warm/cold wallets to protect funds?

These are all question marks to be addressed, and we have not yet received anything from them officially.

But this seems like a setup for an exit scam to me.
3039  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: NiceHash hacked! on: December 07, 2017, 07:07:59 AM
Unfornatelly, 60.000.000$ was hacked on 7th December and all transactions are stopped on NiceHash :: https://www.nicehash.com

http://www.pcgamer.com/nicehash-was-hacked-potentially-for-as-much-as-60-million/

 Huh Huh

Yes indeed, but on their site there is actually no official figure. They just say that they have been hacked, their bitcoin wallets breached and compromised and that is pretty much it. They haven't mentioned any amounts or whether or not their cold wallets are compromised as well.

So yeah, there is still hope for investors. But not much imo.

This is why chasing small profits can lead to big time losses sometimes, best to buy your own equipment if you're seriously into mining.
3040  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashflare on: December 07, 2017, 07:00:28 AM
My personal opinion would be that you should not trust hashflare. First of all, they have clearly ripped all of its customers off by replacing contracts that were initially bought by miners as "lifetime" with 1 year limited contracts.

This should deter you straightaway if you know how big a thing it is, it's pretty much potentially thousands of dollars lost.

Plus, hashflare has not proven to anyone that they are a long term, consistently profitable investment.
