3121  Economy / Speculation / Re: when to buy bitcoin in today on: November 11, 2017, 09:26:02 AM
so i have plan to buy 2-3 BTC
we all see the price playing around 6400 to 6800 and i think thats because of BCH ( Bitcoin Cash ) fork in 11 November

personally i think BTC decrease until the fork time because everyone change to bch to earn free coins

as analyzer, bitcoin lover, whats your suggestion

whats the lowest price i can buy before the BCH fork ?

buy now on 6500~6600 or wait for more decrease ?

There is no fork mate, at least not on the same date as scheduled. If you haven't seen the recent news, Segwit2x was rescheduled and the date currently is still unclear. There is a signed notice from basically all the primary players in support of 2x.

I think it's a good time to buy your bitcoins, at a price below $7000.

It's going to be rare moving on from now to see as low as price like this. I would recommend at least buying half of what you are planning on buying bitcoins with.
3122  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peak and correction coming on: November 11, 2017, 08:39:05 AM
Now that the fork has been cancelled i think this changes the entire outlook of how bitcoin is going to perform. Right now obviously we're seeing increased support for bitcoin's forked counterparts which i think will be a temporary phenomenon.

Price in the past few hours have stabilized in the $6500-$6800 region.

Could potentially lead to a bigger pump tomorrow or even on monday.
3123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Is Meant To Bubble! on: November 11, 2017, 08:29:58 AM
Exactly, it's important to address the fact that bitcoin's supply is completely controlled by the actual code that is governing the entire thing and can't just be planted or whatever like tulips. That is the main difference between the tulip bubble and bitcoin.

Also, bitcoin actually has a usage. It'll never crash to even close to zero, even back in 2013.

The main thing to take away is, the scarcity of bitcoin makes it intrinsically valuable. And when demand grows, where else would you expect the price to go?
3124  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase in a nutshell on: November 11, 2017, 08:00:34 AM
I would still trust Coinbase as a method of purchasing(and NOT a way of storing) bitcoin, but damn that's definitely some very unprofessional stuff. Especially talking about Coinbase which is one of the biggest(if not the biggest) digital asset broker/market located in the United States.

Here's the FAQ link for those who are interested: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/2892985-segwit-2x-faq

This completely sums it up.

You would most likely have no issues with buying bitcoins or selling bitcoins with coinbase, becasue you're going to be dealing with reversible methods that can be easily contacted and get your funds back in case something bad happens.

But storing your bitcoin, you are likely to experience some troubles. And the support is just isn't there for you.
3125  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashFlare.io gone out of there mind on: November 10, 2017, 06:30:45 AM
HashFlare.io has made something crazy today ..do this thing company preparing for something big or going out or something

Update 06.11.2017 16:45:00 UTC:
Withdrawals are enabled (except ZEC), however, the minimum withdrawal amounts have been temporarily increased for monitoring purposes. We estimate this to be reverted within 48 hours.
The temporary amounts are currently:
Bitcoin: 0.2 BTC
Ethereum: 5 ETH
Dash: 3 DASH

Thank you for choosing HashFlare!

I think this is only temporary. They won't be requiring withdrawals of this size long term.

Well it's obviously temporary or at least they claim that it is temporary, but still. Hashflare doing this basically means that they have some sort of issue with their finances one way or another and want to pause payouts for some reason.

Also, they have previously done some shady stuff like basically manipulating contracts of investors.

It's not wise to trust them.
3126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin in a bubble right now? on: November 09, 2017, 10:29:34 AM
I am asking for your honests opinions.
Is it safe to invest now or wait for the bubble to burst?

thank you

Wait a bit before you buy. I would definitely recommend buying at a level that is less than $7000 because the floor is there right now and when it gets dumped below that it means that investors are panic dumping and overselling.

You can't always time the dip right, so don't buy everything at once. Buy in phases.

Also, don't get too excited when price is going up all the time and you want to buy. As i said - wait for the dip. There's always one no matter what.

Why are they even updating their minimum withdrawal amounts? What sort of monitoring information do they need to get from doing this? It's completely useless since they already can see information from every account anyways.

Just an excuse to reduce withdrawal demand for the moment in my opinion.

Hopefully this isn't the newest scam on the cloud mining block.
3128  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Copy Paste Articles ? on: November 09, 2017, 10:12:25 AM
I don't see any sort of problem with this.

In the author column they actually state clearly that this was written by the guy who original wrote it. They also once more acknowledge that they got permission from the author to republish this and i'm sure they probably came to an agreement financially about the rewards of this post.

No harm done here, both parties are in agreement.
3129  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bittrex hijack funds, disabled & banned accounts - be awar from Virtual Pirates on: November 04, 2017, 06:17:31 AM
Nothing Bittrex can do in this case. It is entirely up to the US government to decide which countries are sanctioned or not, if bittrex allowed access then they'd be under pressure from the US government to do what their agenda is.

But Bittrex has suspended lots of accounts even though they are in the list of accepted countries.

Moral of the story: If you are in a sanctioned country, just don't use any US based exchanges or at least use a VPN. Even if you're not, try to minimise the time you're storing your funds on exchanges for.
3130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin All Time High Hit - 6300 on: November 01, 2017, 06:03:21 AM
bitcoin all time high... dont know when it last for this this 2 week btc price is crazy!!!

It is indeed crazy but we are seeing some resistance on the $6500 level.

We could be going down to $5000 or so before climbing back up again. A correction is going to come soon in my opinion and once it does come, just don't be surprised by it. Every single pump will be followed by a correction.

We'll be setting more all time highs for sure this year.
3131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is bitaddress safe? on: November 01, 2017, 06:01:34 AM
It's safe if you run it offline and download it from the official github repo, yes.

But really, it is only a ssafe as your computer. Even if it is open source and proven by time, there is no good using it on an infected computer and expecting a good result out of it. Secure your own computer first, before running it even offline.

There is always a slight possibility of them being compromised, but that can be countered by downloading the source code direct.
3132  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin can hit 7000$ before end of this year on: October 27, 2017, 08:54:27 PM
Can bitcoin reach 7000$ before December?
What do you think?
I think it will.

If Segwit2x fork was successful then yes, i think that even $10k is possible. Without it being 100% successful however this figure is very hard to achieve and unlikely to be hit for the next few years as a crypto winter may follow.

We're already pretty high up though and making another $1k on current prices is not difficult. All it takes is some whale to start buying and bag holding bitcoin to push that price upwards. If we can see any sort of major news from regulators that is pro-bitcoin then price could definitely be bumped right up there by the end of the year too.
3133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble or Not? on: October 27, 2017, 08:47:41 PM
I mean, there are a lot of real adoption happening here and that's undeniable. For example Japan and Australia have both "legalized" bitcoin and removed the double taxing that came with bitcoin's purchase and that was a huge step in the right direction.

Still though, price has risen around 15 fold in the span of 1 and a half years.

Definitely close to a bubble and i think correction may come soon to bring down price to around $5000.
3134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is B2X already priced in? on: October 27, 2017, 08:43:07 PM
There's already a few exchanges starting to trade B2X.

If we look at the previous few major forks(BCC, BTG, etc.), then when they happened bitcoin actually didn't move much at all. For BTG it was a small fall in price that was later recovered pretty soon. For BCC it actually rose.

It'll depend on the exact market conditions going into the fork.
3135  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Alternative to Nicehash? Buying or selling hashing power on: October 25, 2017, 08:47:34 AM
I like nicehash. Anywhere else I could buy additional power from or sell it to?

The cloud mining stuff with the 1-3 year contracts isn't what I'm looking for; I want to be able to place custom orders for as little as 24 hours and cancel anytime like on nicehash.

Thanks!

Maybe you would be interested in miningrigrentals?

I remember that they were fairly active a few years back, i have actually no idea whether or not they are still legit. So use at your own risk. I'd say that nice hash is still the leader and you should aim to use them if possible.

But on miningrigrentals, the minimum is 8hrs for most rigs.

Apparently it is against forum rules to update our email and password now?

Edit: Where is the scam accusation that my account got hacked? If you have no proof, you can't just go and tag everyone who updates their profile.

Edit 2: Where are the negative tags for all these accounts: https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php?

Stop complaining and just sign a message. Oh unless that's a bought account.

At It Again: Dimon Breaks Vow, Says Bitcoin Buyers Are Stupid and Will 'Pay the Price'
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/13/jamie-dimon-says-people-who-buy-bitcoin-are-stupid.html

His daughter, who bought 2 bitcoins, is probably telling him to shut up.

Right now investing wouldn't be such a good idea as before. He's wrong in the way that he expresses his hatred towards bitcoin with no apparent justification, but i do think that investing now could potentially lead to small if not negative profits.

It's just too much of a risk to take atm.

If you want to accumulate then do it after the dip. 20% gains in a day will always be followed by a dip.
3138  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best place to buy BTC using USD on: October 14, 2017, 12:21:01 AM
Newbie here to cryptocurrencies. Currently, I had a blockchain.info wallet but haven't bought any coins. I'm just been playing games to get free BTC and DOGE at freebitco.in and freedogeco.in but don't have anywhere near what I need to withdraw.

I see a lot of people talking about the end of the month being a good time to buy alt coin and I want to know where to start. Do I buy some BTC first, and if so where is best place? And then do I buy the alt coin using BTC?

Depends on what you have in hand, cash/bank balance/paypal etc.

If paypal, use virwox but expect to have around 20% of your total trade eaten up by their fees. If it's cash/bank transfer then i suggest using localbitcoins, the rates will be around 5-7% above spot. If you can get verified on a big exchange such as bitstamp, then you can get better rates but honestly not worth the hassle imo.

Once you get btc, exchange it into whatever altcoin you fancy using bittrex/polo/shapeshift.
3139  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I'll never ever use Coinbase again. on: October 14, 2017, 12:18:28 AM
Should have expected this.

Coinbase right now definitely have one of the worst track records in terms of user experience and customer support - in fact, i'd say that it is close to yobit level. The director of coinbase says that they'll be diverting their attention to customer support in Q3 and yet in Q4, there are no improvements.

Unless you're willing to lose what you put in, don't use them.
3140  Other / Meta / Re: Forum search isn't returning the correct results on: October 14, 2017, 12:12:06 AM
I searched on my end as well for the string "darkstar", returned with the same results as yours. essentially there seems to be a date cut-off somewhere in 2016, and scrolling through all the pages there aren't any 2017 replies returned.

I personally just use the inbuilt google search - does it not work for you?
