2921  Economy / Speculation / Re: THIS is the time to buy! on: December 23, 2017, 09:20:35 AM
Ofcourse everybody gets a little anxious with this correction. But let's be honest, we needed a correction in this bullish market in the past two weeks.

Why is it time to buy?
- The weak hands are out and many 'stop-limit' orders have been triggered.
- The earlier corrections also were about 30 to 50% without any big news. Perhaps you remember the 5k was reached and it dropped back to 3k? And last month almost 8k was reached and it pulled back to around 5k?
- I'm pretty sure that the 10k barrier wouldn't be broken.

So if you can get your hands on some btc between 10-11k, I suggest you do it.

Pretty much checks all these boxes right now. The previous corrections as you said have been of a similar extent at the bottom, personally for this reason i think most likely this current correction is over as well by now.

There may be some corrections after this but it won't be anything major.

The price is still below $15,000, something i believe to be extremely cheap. IT's funny how the weak hands bought in at $18k and 19k and couldn't wait to buy more as the bubble went up even further, but now they're selling...
2922  Economy / Speculation / Re: 45% drop - this is new territory, never seen before on: December 23, 2017, 08:39:29 AM
In less than 100 hours the price dropped from 19.700$ to 10.890$. That is a 45% drop.

There has never been a drop like this in such short time in the full history of Bitcoin.

Ever.

"volatility is normal in crypto" I hear many say. But not like what we see today. We have never ever seen anything like this.

And now we've rebounded back up to $14500 so what's your point?

Volatility is normal in crypto and every single person who trades crypto knows that risk. There is always a risk that your position will get liquidated or whatever the next day because of a flash crash, but right now we're looking to recover from this flash crash.

It's definitely not the first time we've seen it. There are at least 2 instances this year, where the same thing happened. First you've got the time when price was nearly $5k, back to $3.2k within a day or two. That's 40% or so. Then, price rose to 7.4k and back down to 5.7k. So you saying that it's the first time we've seen this, is simply false.
2923  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How BTC Push service works? 1 confirmation or more? on: December 23, 2017, 08:36:10 AM
https://pushtx.btc.com

How exactly this work mean client buy push for one confirmation only?
Mean if exchange require 3, what then?
Once it will be paid and confirmed others start confirm quicker?
Am I thinking good? I mean not need to buy X times.

Transcatino accelerators like that one is only useful if you have paid less fee than the recommended amount for your transaction. If you've already paid a decent amount of fee then waiting a few hours would result in a confirmation anyways.

These services are basically mining pools that will selectively inclued your transaction in the blocks that they mine.

However, keep in mind that they are incredibly expensive to use and your first option is to always send the transaction with a high fee. So it's sort of only supposed to be used in emergency scenarios. There are also free ones like antpool.
2924  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Max fee blockchain.info on: December 22, 2017, 06:19:25 AM
I know we have 1 MB block size limit introduced into Bitcoin by Satoshi Nakamoto when using bitcoin.

this is mean we have max 1000 sat/b "1 MB" right?

Today, when I check my blockchain wallet, found this numbers.

Can anyone explain why I get this numbers?

All it's saying there is that you can't afford to use that fee because your balance isn't big enough. 1k sats/byte is probably unnecessary, i think 800 sats/byte should be fine for a small to medium sized transaction to confirm within a few hours.

Nothing to do with the block size whatsoever.

These numbers are simply from blockchain.info's recommendations for the best fees to pay in order to get your transaction confirmed within the first block or in the first 6 blocks, similar to what you get in electrum and other wallets.
2925  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: One of the Biggest Scam of the Bitcoin Community on: December 22, 2017, 06:13:55 AM
Hi guys! I have realized that I got robbed and scammed by professional programmers. First of all, I'm not the only person got scammed with this method. The scammers wallet address is 17bH1SYLoBdGsBaDedPR2EE3JUt8oRS7qd . This address and the issue is currently being discussed in reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinCA/comments/7keu2l/scammed_watch_your_google_chrome_extensions/

Firstly, I have paid 0.0585 btc for purchasing hash power from hashflare on December 13, but it didn't reflect to my account, then I've opened a ticket and started to wait an answer. In that period I have decided to purchase monero hashpower from genesis mining, and paid 0.043031 on december 16. Because I'm a beginner on bitcoin community, I couldn't understand that the hackers replace their wallets qr code on my payment page on both hashflare and genesis mining website. and today I realized that I had paid my payments to exact same addresses. Than I have searched this address (17bH1SYLoBdGsBaDedPR2EE3JUt8oRS7qd) and found a topic on reddit. They are currently continuing to scam people. I don't know what do I do? I was using ublock adblocker, reddit users saying that the cause is adblocker. I want from you to speak out this kind of scamming. I have lost 1750$ and I'm so upset. My scammed transaction id's are:

https://blockchain.info/tr/tx/6d36c986298332973f2a42f524d286e07000fb3bc98949de28b7b5f92e092053

https://blockchain.info/tx/45040b8ad51b86e8cf5d79018c17b6dd9c1924d2cb2f36dab99ed4dc11586a13

They even currently scamming people, recently someone paid 4600$ Sad Please help and speak out.

1750$ was %60 of my investment. But I will never stop to promote this decentralised new world! Never give up.

If there is someone want to console me and compensate my damage even though a little bit, here is my ethereum wallet: 0x63037338dc8ffe7cbec377d7daa679ad5a6fdc8f

I will update my wallet balance when I got money for transparency.

So 1.6 BTC scammed just on that address, which i don't think that is even close to the full amount that the scammer has scammed through this method since he could have easily used multiple addresses to receive funds to.

This is by no means an old method of scamming people, in fact it has been around at least since last year, that's when i first saw this kind of scam emerge. But to get it via a chrome extension seems new to me.

Always check at least the first four letters of your address to confirm that it is the correct address - if it isn't then install antivirus/uninstall some extensions to see which one is the culprit.
2926  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are people freaking out? on: December 22, 2017, 06:06:40 AM
Normal correction, much needed after this fast growth.

C'mon guys, you must be new!

Exactly, i'm not sure why people aren't so worried about the dumps before bitcoin even hit $10k that wre way faster in terms of speed than this, but rather just absolutely freaking out over this one. I mean we haven't even lost that much value compared to the start of last week.

A pump happened, we came close to breaking $20k, now people are panic selling.

It's really as simple as that, and when we see just a day of green people will buy in again. It's all market psychology and honestly is nothing new. Even if we don't set an all time high once again next year, which i think we will(easily), price will still go up to around $17k from this point, at the very least.
2927  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex withdrawal issue on: December 22, 2017, 05:55:49 AM
Seems like 2 other people or at least 1 are having the same TXID given to them. I wouldn't freak out though because it is possible for 1 transaction to have multiple outputs, they could just be waiting to broadcast their tx or something like that.

Give it a while. Perhaps it's just some technical issues with them. Make sure you keep reminding support that this issue hasnt been resolved yet as well.

But poloniex is an unreliable exchange to use at the moment, i would definitely consider switching to a different exchange if i were you. Binance, bitfinex, etc.

Also, don't create duplicate threads please. Delete the new one that you created.
2928  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Newbie confusion....nano ledger s huge transaction fee for 5 dollar transaction? on: December 22, 2017, 05:48:46 AM
im in the same boat....

tried to move out $15.00 worth of btc and i saw a $25.00 fee.....

is there a work around here? i mean whats the use of my btc's if we cant even move it.

Nope... Unless of course you are able to use an online wallet that supports account to account transactions within its system, with no fees. Examples would be coinbase, xapo, etc. If your recipient also uses that web wallet then you'll be able to transfer off the grid, for free.

Also if you are just willing to wait longer for the confirmation to come, just pay with a lower fee, accelerate your transaction using antpool or viabtc, but be prepared to wait up to a week or even more for your transaction to get confirmations.

My suggestion is wait for the fees to go down. Right now they are crazy high.
2929  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cloudbet does not payout money on: December 22, 2017, 05:43:39 AM
What happened: Cloudbet does not payout money.

Scammers Profile Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=154563

Reference Link:
Amount Scammed: 0,330496 BTC
Payment Method: BTC
Proof of Payment: The transaction hash is: f205e0c18fd99bbe020d33a31763d3cfa6b731a838dbddb3429a97a48039c07f
The transaction was completed at 2017-11-29 12:38:08 UTC (https://prnt.sc/hmfdou)
PM/Chat Logs: Don't sure if I should to copy-paste here all my mails to cloudbet (but I can if it helps, for example: https://prnt.sc/hmfh6y)
Additional Notes: Wrote them a few mails but without any positive result. Support can not say anything useful except: "We understand that you want to receive your winnings as quickly as possible which is why we aim to have your withdrawal on its way to you as soon as we can. I have escalated this to our payment team and they will get back to you as soon as possible."

Based on that response that was given to you, we can only assume that there was something that is suspected of your account. Perhaps suspected foul play or something like that. I've requested a few withdrawals of smaller amounts, everything went smoothly.

I understand that in the past they have had withdrawal issues just like most crypto sites. Haven't seen much recently though.

Just give them some more time, if they still don't respond after a week from now then perhaps you should attach some screenshots so that their account on the forum can get negative trust for this.
2930  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Today I was charged $86 in fees on a $250 buy order with Bitpay on: December 22, 2017, 05:33:29 AM
Bought $250 worth of bitcoin via Bitpay (to buy a product, not as speculative investment) and was informed the fee would be ~$10.

Turns out they charged $86. I wasnt notified beforehand about any additional fees being taken. It was charged and taken without my permission. Had this been disclosed to me first, I wouldnt have placed my order.

Worse yet, the amount remaining in my wallet ($160) is apparently too small to make a transaction.

This is insane.

Might have to get my bank's fraud department involved, though i have concerns they may not be able to do anything.

I had only decided to use bitcoin because this particular vendor offered a discount for people purchasing with btc. Little did I know the nightmare I was in store for. It's been almost 2 weeks, $500 (two transfers of $250 each), potentially close to half of that eaten up by fees, and Im nowhere closer to getting the item. I should've just opted for a direct credit card purchase. Lesson learned.

Does anyone know what I can do to get my money back? This has been a total disaster. I still have my other $250 sitting with Coinbase. If i transfer that to my bitpay wallet, i'll probably be out another ~$90+ in transfer fees.

I want to have all of these reversed so I can just buy the damn item with my credit card.

If they charged a "deposit fee" or something that is tied to the current blockchain fee levels then really there is nothing you can do about other than just sucking it up... AFAIK bitpay has a receiving fee for every tx you send it to prevent dust txs clogging up its addresses and making sending them out more costly on their end.

Not sure if this is the fee you paid though, because $86 is insane.

Even in the times of high transaction fees and network congestions, i haven't seen anyone pay a $80-90 fee just to buy a product... The max i've paid today is probably 0.0015 BTC for a transaction($20 or so)
2931  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who can call the correct bottom for BTC's current correction? on: December 22, 2017, 05:28:48 AM
This will be interesting to see where BTC's current correction stops. Using Coinbase's data chart, I'm calling the bottom of the correction: $11,400.

Anyone else?

I personalyl believe that for this dip we've already seen the bottom at around $14000 or less. I seriously doubt that you'll be able to find much better buying opportunities in the period of this week to next week, since BTC basically already lost 30% of its original value.

I don't see a reason for the rebound to not happen.

Bitcoin is still bitcoin, nothing has changed. It's just that the price has risen so high that people are taking their profits for the moment before reentering at a lower price, and that has caused a panic dump apparently.
2932  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is so RED. For how long? on: December 22, 2017, 05:21:47 AM
We've been off a terrible week ever since monday. I doubt that this can last very long at all because overall, i think that the chances of bitcoin making a comeback after this and breaking the $20k barrier is extremely high in my opinion.

My advice to new traders: Don't panic sell in these scenarios. 9 times out of 10 you'll regret it. And that one time you won't regret it eventually price will go back up anyways after a while.

If you see 5 straight red days like recently, then you know that it is probably a good time to buy, since imo it's hard for bitcoin to break $10k and keep going down so anything below $15000 is a great pickup.
2933  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of users 'loadbearing_' and 'NexusBTC'. Both SCAM! on: December 22, 2017, 04:08:03 AM
Beware of users 'loadbearing_' and 'NexusBTC'. Both SCAM!

Selling goods on this forum in self-moderated topics. Once payed they never get back to you...
But they keep posting 'bumps' on their topics daily/often to get them up the list...

So be careful and don't trade with them...

Someone already had already posted about this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2605127.0

NexusBTC is a newbie while Loadbearing is already negged. So why you would trade with them and be confident that you are able to send first and get what you asked for, i don't know. There can't be more warnings than that.

If someone operates a self moderated thread, take a step back and see if they accept escrow. If they don't then of course, avoid them completely. Loadbearing even locks his threads after bumping so nobody can expose him on his thread.
2934  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin dumps down 25% from 20k to 15k whatsup on: December 22, 2017, 03:59:14 AM
any ideas why bitcoin reversed its trend?

regards

Okay, if you look at previous pumps then you will quickly notice that this isn't the first time that bitcoin has done this. Back in August, there was a crash. And then China banned exchanges and then people panic dumped. Right now it's about the same. People are panic dumping because they are scared of the imaginary "flippening". And this correction is probably going to only be temporary before pumps take on another toll.

$20k is going to still be hit either by the end of the year, or next year.

Trend reversals never ever become permanent. Even if this was the end there will be a chance to sell at a higher price, but i don't think it's over yet
2935  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BITTREX - no email notification from mailer@bittrex.com for login on: December 21, 2017, 09:29:32 AM
I cannot get e-mail from bittrex.
anyone ever had the same problem with me?

i accidentally marked mailer@bittrex.com as spam and then i didnt receive any mail from bittrex anymore..

sent them ticket for support already
but they answer not helped my problem

i even cleared all my mail blocked list and add mailer@bittrex.com to my contact already

but that not work

anyone know how to fix this one?
thanks anyway

Bittrex Support Ticket No:Your request 816871
You marking an email as spam only makes it unseeable from your perspective. It doesn't affect the sender's ability to send emails to you. So it's definitely something wrong with bittrex here, if it was indeed marked as spam then you should still see it in your spam folder.

Contact their support (although i doubt they will respond quickly), sometimes there is a delay in the email being sent so do wait some time to see if it works again. Perhaps their mail server is busy or flooded with requests.

If they don't fix it, then they're essentially locking you out of your account - and that's not good. Undecided
2936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is going down. on: December 21, 2017, 04:39:22 AM
Hi guys I am a newbie and tell me please that why the price of bitcoin goes to decrease? please tell me the main reason because I like this coin and when it's price goes to decrease I am very worried.

We are in a classic correction phase right now, it comes after the price has risen a lot over a very short amount of time and people tend to gravitate towards overbuying. This correction will stabilize bitcoin price at a lower level, and when it does stabilize for a period of time then another pump/dump will come.

Rigth now i think since we're still in 2017 and the whole year has been filled with absolute bullishness, we're going to see a pump after this correction rather than a dump. Don't get too worried about it since it probably is only going to be just a short term thing.

Wouldn't be that big of a risk to buy some right now to take advantage of the rebound, actually.

$16500 compared to the ATH near $20000 seems like a reasonable buying point to me for sure, with all the big names flowing into btc.
2937  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL bitcoin? why and why not? on: December 21, 2017, 04:36:48 AM
HODL bitcoin? why and why not?

Depends. If you think that bitcoin is going to be mainstream in the future and is going to be used as a everyday currency then you probably should just hold until that happens. Don't worry about short term price movements or anythnig like that.

However if you're more a trader, then you probably want to take advantage of dips and peaks. Doing so can greatly increase your profit margin even though you may still believe in the long term success of bitcoin.

There's a case for both, personally i'm holding, but if the price is way too high then i'm going to dump.
2938  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Accelerator on: December 21, 2017, 03:01:34 AM
Hello Guys, is there any legit btc accelerator platform working right now apart from viabtc
Viabtc seem to be over crowded right now, is close to impossible to to queue in a transaction.
Confirmtx seems to have stopped working, there are so many complaints from users who paid and there transaction hasn't been confirmed for days now.

If you are urgent and want to use a paid service then btc.com. They'll pretty much confirm your transaction in no time with their partnerships but at the same time they cost a fortune to use. Haven't seen anything below $30 for even smaller sized txs.

If you want to use the free ones, use viabtc and wait till the start of every hour. If you get in there in the first few seconds then you have a chance of your transaction being accelerated by them still.

Otherwise use antpool, it's free and still very crowded. so tldr; use btc.com for urgent, use antpool for economy.
2939  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ShapeShift.io Scam? on: December 21, 2017, 02:56:37 AM
I've sent ETH to convert to Bitcoin, and it's been stuck at "awaiting deposit" for the last few hours. I've used them before but for much smaller amounts. I normally send around $500 max but this time I've send around 1.5k to be converted into Bitcoin and this time it's taking forever to deposit when other times it's been instant.

They're not a scam but sometimes when the network is congested they can take a while.

As you can see on their site, they're saying that there may be delays of up to a few hours and you should have expected that as you initiated the trade. So just be patient, as long as you sent to the right address with the right instructions then there shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

$1.5k is actually a small trade compared to the volume that they're handling on a daily basis. I've used them many times before without any issues. If your transaction is still not updated on the site, then go and ask support about it.
2940  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining changes in HF on: December 20, 2017, 09:40:07 AM
So here is the latest news regarding hashflare

Prices increase today from 1.5 USD per 10 GHS to 2.2 USD per 10 GHS or 220.00 USD per 1 TH

While it’s still probably the cheapest per TH mining in clouds out there
It’s recent contract changes from life time to year for all members was a shock

Now it’s changes prices overnight no warning crazy right
I’m invested over 40 th which currently pays net 2.50 usd per day per TH in current time of posting

What’s your guys thoughts on hashflare aka PolyibiASS Wink

Typical hashflare behaviour.

They make changes arbitrarily whenever they want to. Same thing they did with their investors. Screwed them over with changes to their investment length, from lifetime(which actually isn't lifetime but still better) to 1 year.

Seems to be their specialty just making changes without any reasoning whatsoever, to the benefit of them.

It doesn't even seem like they are actually mining at this point. Just seems like a whole ponzi scheme to me that will eventually collapse. No warning either, no major changes to anything - just a nearly 50% rise in mining cost somehow... Just greedy admins trying to cash out on their business.
