how much virwox fees when converting from paypal to btc
someone told me they charge around 30% is that true ?

The total transaction fees in both deposit and withdrawal + trading fee + paypal deposit fee + spread should give you around 80% of market price for your paypal funds. So not exactly a great deal, but this is probably one of the best rates you can get if you have paypal funds and you can't verify yourself for some reason.

If you can verify yourself, use coinbase.

Their rates are much better and you get around 95% of market rate.
3142  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problem with "browser minning" - freebitco.in on: October 06, 2017, 03:33:20 AM
Are there similar sites for free and secure bitcoin collection?

Well, there used to be quite a lot, especially with dogecoin ones. However now i'm not sure.

Freebitco.in browser mining is based off coinhive(https://github.com/cazala/coin-hive). You can integrate this into any web page you want really, if you happen to have the expertise. Since they are mining monero you could actually just download the Monero GUI and mine there as well.

Your problem seems to be odd. Everything is working for me, and no idea why your user id is 0.
3143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rise is over on: October 06, 2017, 03:30:46 AM
If the big correction is coming soon I think it's a natural thing to close the end of the year, and at the beginning of the year it will recover soon. that's what I feel is not too worried if there is a big correction. We just need to anticipate it as well as possible.

Exactly. Corrections are going to come along the way even if we are climbing in price. There is simply no way for us to continue climbing day by day without any sort of pause in between these pumps, otherwise it would actually be unsustainable.

The correction from $4400 a few days ago down to $4100 or less a day ago was an example of that.

But now, we're up 2.5% from yesterday and i think we may be able to break $4500 by the end of the week.
3144  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think China has halted the pace of bitcoin reaching new high?? on: October 02, 2017, 09:04:17 AM
Do you think China issue has halted the pace of bitcoin reaching new record high?? How much time do you think required for bitcoin to forget China issue and pick-up the pace to touch new levels???

People are starting to forget about the dump as well as the Chinese bans right now actually, since the price is being bought up to around $4500 as we speak. I think that already people are coming to realize China isn't everything that bitcoin is. Even losing them completely is fine.

Right now we're going to test $4500. I expect some resistance that take price down to around $4300 or so before climbing back up and potentially even breaking the $5000 resistance barrier.

If there is a dip, buy it.
3145  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is Shared When Paying with Bitcoin? on: October 02, 2017, 08:58:41 AM
So I would like to sign up for an online service but use an alias, not my real information. They accept payment via Bitcoin. If I use a wallet like Coinbase to pay for the site what information does Coinbase share with the site? Does the site receive any information about me?

Coinbase does not share any information. All coinbase knows is that you sent x amount of bitcoin to x address. And from the site's perspective, all they'll see is that x address sent x amount of bitcoin to them as well as any change addresses involved.

If you're concerned about privacy then don't use coinbase. Period. But i don't think that your case demands you having to take any other form of precaution since if you're an adult, accessing an adult site is completely legal.
3146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin debit card with the best possible exchange rate on: October 02, 2017, 08:56:33 AM
The only actual problem with Tenx is the fact you need to wait for 2-3 months to get these since there is a huge demand.

Interesting... Guess that rules out the possibility of Tenx for me.

So apart from that, are there any anonymous virtual debit cards that can be topped up using bitcoin, that also works outside of EU? As i've said, i'm forced to not use Wirex anymore since they are not issuing VCCs anymore.

I guess i could just get a preloaded VCC which i can't top up, but that really sucks.
3147  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Quoinpro on: October 02, 2017, 08:53:43 AM
haha, i didn't even know it is still active. i think the website domain was down for a long time. now that i have re-visited the website it seems like the old database is working too! i still have my account from 2014 which is 3 years of accumulating rewards Grin

here is my current balances:
and note that the bitcoin balance is my own deposit (0.00026598BTC deposited)

Yeah I was surprised at the fact that they were still open for business. I only went back to check my account after I saw the old thread for Qoinpro being revived and i checked out the site - completely new design but all balances carried over.

I can safely confirm that i did NOT receive any sort of substantial amount of money during my membership(spanning at LEAST 3 years). Even with the rise in btc and alt prices, i've only gotten a few cents.

Based on my experience, and every other person it seems like it's just not worth it...
3148  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Trusted Mining Websites on: October 01, 2017, 08:51:12 AM
There is Nicehash which essentially allows you to rent hashing power from people to mine whatever coin and pool you want. Apart from that and genesis mining i am really not sure of any others that are legitimate, aka not ponzi scams.

Hashflare used to be considered to be legit. But then they reduced the terms of customer contracts from "lifetime" to 1 year, without the consent of the customers. This is extremely shady behaviour.

I would not recommend investing in cloud mining at all. You may never even receive your full investment back in profits. Even if you do profit it'll be miniscule.
3149  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Quoinpro on: October 01, 2017, 08:46:45 AM
Unless you are able to somehow create a network of referrals, and by network i mean tens of thousands, then no it is not worthwhile. I've been a member since 2013 or 2014(can't remember exactly when) but i can tell you this: I have not been able to withdraw anything since i have not hit the minimum withdrawal for any coin, apart from Fedoracoin and potentially dogecoin.

But these coins amounted to less than a dollar, in 3-4 years.

Now they are potentially a good multicoin wallet but you're giving them control of your coins as well. You're much better off using Exodus as a multicoin wallet. If you just want to sign up, then do it. You don't lose anything, since you don't actually have to do anything to receive coins from them. But don't expect to be able to make bank.
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Better Without China!!!!!!! on: September 30, 2017, 10:18:20 AM
We still need China as they have higher blockchain technology and many of them are experts cryptographer. I think we only need reduction of theirs trading volume as this will drastically reduced their influence on bitcoin market pricing during bad or fake news. I am happy today bitcoin price has raised significantly.

We really don't. Even if they have cryptographers they seem only intent in making new ICOs that are completely useless. I think that the Chinese ban on ICOs was actually necessary and is good for bitcoin, as it disincentives bad ICOs.

Bitcoin is decentralized. It does not need a central entity.

Plus, Chinese investors will find another way to invest in bitcoin. Chinese officials have not banned local trading of bitcoin.
3151  Economy / Speculation / Re: I See bitcoin at $10,000 before end of this year. on: September 30, 2017, 10:14:16 AM
Its not a dream but i can say 7000$ is a more realistic price for end of 2017. But who knows what Kim Jong gonna do with his nuke bombs.
If he get crazy then we will see 40k$ end of this year.

Yeah definitely, if the figure was changed from $10k to $7k then i'd definitely be backing this. I mean, we have gained like $700 in just 7 days and if this trend continues at even just half the rate that it is gaining value right now we'll still comfortably make $7k.

However, it'll definitely need a lot of optimistic buyers and there has to be a lot of positive news made about bitcoin.

Otherwise, i think we'll set a new all time high, just not $7k or $10k.
3152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't you think the BTC forks are making the Bitcoin ecosystem more chaotic? on: September 30, 2017, 09:52:05 AM
It's chaotic but it's uncontrollable. Everyone is able to do whatever they want. You could create a fork of bitcoin too, but unless you are really influential and have actually good ideas nobody is probably going to even use your fork of btc.

Plus, forking can be good as well, as it upgrades the system to prepare for the future.

It does not always contribute to confusion or chaos.
3153  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Nosedived on: September 30, 2017, 09:44:49 AM
I will like to know the reason why after bitcoin reached the maximum value this month it has been decreasing on a daily basis just at the time i wanted to invest the uptrend just changed suddenly. is there any hope of further increasing as some has speculated that it will reach $5000 by the end of this year?

The price was negatively affected because people were panicking over the whole situation that was unfolding back in China. Now that the panic has stopped, panic dumping has stopped and people have turned to buying and pushing bitcoin price up once again.

Anyways, this is a classic example of 'buy the dip'.

If you bought the dip when everyone else was panic selling, you'd be sitting on at least $500 profit per bitcoin you bought.
3154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is PayPal now feeling the pressure from Bitcoin? on: September 30, 2017, 09:34:57 AM
Well, i would not be surprised, at all, if PayPal tried to deny their users to transaction with funds in their accounts on PayPal to trade with bitcoin in the near future. Bitcoin has taken a large part of profits from PayPal and is only going to continue doing so.

Plus, as bitcoin has climbed in value recently, more and more PayPal users have ditched PayPal for bitcoin.

As i said, this trend should continue to be the case in the future. PayPal is one of the shittiest payment processors out there.
3155  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where do bittrex users keep their bitcoins/altcoins? on: September 30, 2017, 08:06:56 AM
Well if you plan to trade say at least 1 time a week or maybe even more, then wouldn't just keeping all your coins on bittrex be fine though?

Also im curious but why do i hear cases of bittrex accounts getting hacked then?  I mean did they download something?  I watched a few youtube videos and people mentioned the hacker even got through their 2FA etc.

So i figure if u use bittrex, well you can keep all coins you buy there and not have to download every single wallet etc.

It's all about risk, mate. Even if you trade 1 time a week doesn't mean that bittrex could get hacked, or even your account get hacked. If you are fine with taking this risk for the convenience of being able to trade without having to wait for confirmations then go for it.

As for the people getting hacked even though they've got 2fa on: 2fa isn't perfectly secure. Nothing is.

It could be possible that some of these things are insider jobs, and that's another thing about storing money on an exchange. You have to trust them fully.
3156  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MOney transfer - Coinbase on: September 30, 2017, 07:59:54 AM
how many days does it take for the money to move from my bank account into Coinbase? Is there a way to follow it?

It really depends on where you are located and what method you are depositing by but as others have said, it usually takes to 3-5 days. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. There is no real exact value that can be given, since it highly depends on how quick the banks process the transaction.

For credit card payments, it should be instant.

Same thing with PayPal. As long as you are verified.
3157  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Localbitcoins scammers? on: September 30, 2017, 07:58:09 AM
Tried doing a sell today with a 0 trade user.  He marked the trade as paid in a few minutes without ever even attempting to contact me or actually make the payment.  Is this just a common scam attempt they have there now?

First of all you should have never traded with a user who has absolutely no trade history unless you are dealing with irreversible payment methods which are rare in the fiat transaction payment processors.

It's actually quite a stupid scam. Simply open a dispute, and you should be able to get your money back.

A mediator will enter your chat, and solve issues. You should be able to get your funds out of escrow fairly quickly.
3158  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchair ID on: September 30, 2017, 06:50:24 AM
The length of taken taken to send the bitcoin cash or whatever has nothing to do with whether or not the address is valid. If it eventually goes through then the address is valid. It could be something to do with your web wallet's nodes not being synced or even your internet connection.

Do you have a txid for this transaction?

If you sent it to a bitcoin address that you own, then you can still access the bitcoin cash. However if you sent to an address you don't own, you have no idea who it belongs to, then it'll likely be lost forever or spent by whoever owns the address.
3159  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 5 reasons why I predict a bitcoin bear market in Q4/2017 on: September 28, 2017, 08:22:51 AM
We have all witnessed the fall in price on September 14, part due to Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan and part due to rumors around China, the market was bleeding that day. Everybody knows that bitcoin is volatile, but I am sure that you didn't expect waking up that morning and seeing bitcoin down almost 1k$.

Agree or Disagree?
Tell me in the comments Wink

I would agree with you if you changed Q4 in 2017 to Q2 in 2018.

Personally i don't see any sort of bear market or major correction coming until around April or May next year. There are still a lot of people taking on long positions on bitcoin and certainly a lot more institutional investors than before.

But we are in a bubble, and it will pop eventually in the form of a bear market. As i said, it'll probably happen Q1 or Q2 next year.
3160  Economy / Speculation / Re: is bitcoin bubble? on: September 28, 2017, 08:19:36 AM
there has been so many articles about this and I am not sure if the price is overpriced or not.

Personally, i've been thinking that it's been a bubble ever since it was at $2500 per bitcoin. I still think that the price is a bubble at the moment, except i think that it is probably not going to pop this year seeing how strong support is at for the $3000 level.

If you buy for the short term, you'll probably still be able to make a profit.

But if you want to accumulate for the long term i feel like you are much mor elikely to get a better deal if you just waited for the correction next year.
