2401  Other / Meta / Re: My profile got banned on: December 05, 2018, 03:38:48 PM
Is it possible to remove the ban from the profile?

TryNinja answered it pretty clear for you.
P.S: Keep in mind that YOU (as a person) is permabanned. You can't keep using this forum with a different account or this will be considered ban evasion.
Plagiarism is one of the most common ways why a member can be banned permanently in the forum and there is no escape from that ban not even a new account will help you start a new life here in the forum. Just take a look at what you did you just copy pasted a post way back January and just added a few additional words without anything new to it, what you did is simply plagiarism not even adding a few words of your own will simply make that post something you have worked with.
2402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best policy to HODL a coin for newbie to avoid big loss. on: December 05, 2018, 02:44:28 PM
Stopping losses is really a good function but I don't think it is meant for HODLers in the market but for the traders in the market. If you are hodling it means you are in it for that coin in the long run where you are looking for the bigger picture as a hodler using the stop loss function only means you are ready to quit hodling at any moment with only 5-10% loss which I don't think is a good idea if you are a HODLer but for a trader it is important as  using stop loss it their only way of protecting their capital as they would need it in their future trades which HODLers won't be doing in the near future. The only way I'll use the stop loss function as a HODLer is when I know I'll be shorting my cryptocurrency hoping to buy more at a cheaper price.
2403  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: 0% tax when cashing out crypto on: December 05, 2018, 01:57:29 PM
I have to hand it to you, you gave an effort on doing this on giving a solution for not paying income taxes for your crypto earnings but you are forgetting that double taxation avoidance on the word itself just removes the chances of a person on paying the same kind of tax by different countries. So even if you won't be having taxes in UAE you still have to pay taxes on the country you are originating from as a resident citizen and that's including the 115 countries they have with agreement with. Your solution doesn't really solve a thing plus it is not affordable for a lot of people.
2404  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Safer than paper wallet: password-protected and replicated private key file on: December 04, 2018, 06:26:13 PM
Suppose you are keeping your paper wallet at home, even in a safe box.

A thief or a cop, sneaking into your house may force you to open the box, or if you just hid the paper somewhere, someone may find it.

And the paper has clear data in it : a non-encrypted BIP seed.
Isn't your scenario a little bit farfetched? Not unless that cop or thief is particularly searching for non-encrypted BIP seeds in your house I doubt that even if they found your seed phrase in your safe they would have any idea on what those words are used for. Supposed that they are looking for seed phrases in your house wouldn't it be much simpler for you if you just jumbled up your seed phrases stored in your safe and just keep the decoding sequence for that paper wallet elsewhere? I just doubt that any of your solutions are more secure especially if it involves around other services which requires a device.
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi broke the silence on: December 04, 2018, 05:06:44 PM
The OP is a great example of how one believes at something without even doing a research in the first place. Most newbies here only just read the headlines of news without even going through the content and doing a background check after leading to most of them being part of either FUD and FOMO. I mean can you get real for a second? An account that has been dormant for years would just post "nour", and you will focus more on putting a meaning out of that one word instead of thinking the possibility that Satoshi isn't the one controlling the account anymore? If you continue doing this you will be a victim of a lot of headlines in the days to come.
2406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: December 04, 2018, 03:55:48 PM
Timberwolves had the biggest win this season so far by defeating the Houston Rockets and overcoming the 19 point gap showed a great performance from the team overall. They have shown terrible offense and defense in the first half but luckily the Rockets started missing some buckets and they slowly took the lead in the 3rd quarter. Harden also got pissed (which probably messed up his game) that he ain't getting any trips to the free throw line every time he tried to pick up some fouls. RoCo was a great motivator to the game and I am seeing that he has replaced Jimmy as the leader of the pack.

Quick Notes
  • Chris Paul only made 5 pts (including 2 FTM)
  • Rose scored nothing (4 FGA)
  • All the Wolves' starter scored double digits (Yes including Wiggins)
2407  Economy / Economics / Re: Block Chain eliminates regulators on: December 04, 2018, 02:11:44 PM
I always wonder what might be the reason of centralised authorities not accepting the power of Decentralization and then found the reason
You might probably looking at it in the other way. The government is not against or concerned in decentralization per se but the ones involve with it. If you have seen in the news already the problem the government is having on regulatiion is not about the cryptocurrencies itself but the criminal activity involve with it. Having a decentralized cryptocurrency circulating around the world made it enticing to a lot of criminals to take advantage of the situation and until now they are profiting from it. The government is facing a dilemma on how they will handle such problem at the same time their citizens can freely benefit from these cryptocurrencies.
2408  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-02] Starbucks Accepting Bitcoin – How Could This Increase Bitcoin’s Ado on: December 04, 2018, 01:24:36 PM
They completely ignored how we have people holding Bitcoin not willing to spend their coins, because every purchase likely results in disappointment weeks or months later, because the price keeps going up.
The only other time people may be willing to spend is when they have large amounts of gains, but of course many expect more so sit still.

I doubt significant amounts of people will ever receive their actual wages in crypto. The next likely avenue would be via cashback or some sort of loyalty scheme. Even then they're likely to stay put.

Merchant adoption may be more likely to take off in shithole economies, but then again they have an even stronger incentive not to spend it.
One thing to keep in mind though remember that Steam pulled out from accepting Bitcoin payments due to the massive surge of transaction fees it had during last year which rose from 20 cents to 20$ just to send a payment for buying a game which is not viable for them, no gamer in his right mind would buy a 19$-49.99$ game with a additional transaction cost of 20$. So it is really not about people not wanting to spend their BTC because they are saving it but it is about not sending BTC because it was not cheap as they use to during that time.

Merchant adoption during those time really took a hit as it had discouraged a lot of businesses on accepting BTC as a mode of payment due to high transaction cost. But hopefully transaction fees will stay considerably cheaper now and it would really help a lot on attracting back businesses to accept it again.
2409  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-02] Starbucks Accepting Bitcoin – How Could This Increase Bitcoin’s Ado on: December 03, 2018, 11:15:29 AM
I really don't get how one entity/establishment can increase the adoption for Bitcoin if its customers don't know what and how to use Bitcoin in the first place. Yes it could increase awareness on seeing Bitcoin payments are available to this establishment but does it also convince the customers to pay in Bitcoin as well?

A perfect example for this is Steam which had accepted Bitcoin previously in the past, even though their customers are most likely technologically inclined it didn't change the fact that paying BTC to load their wallet up is just one of the many options available to do so, it didn't made their customers switch to Bitcoin payments right away as it is not the intended effect on just adding a new payment method to the several options they already have. The most likely people benefiting from this are the ones who already have Bitcoin wallets at their hands.
2410  Other / Meta / Re: Can we restrict user registerations somehow? on: December 03, 2018, 09:58:50 AM
My suggestion would be to intergrate some sort of SMS verification/Email verification per account. Once a number has been associated and verified with a given user id, one can not use it for creating another account.
Email verification of accounts won't be as good as SMS verification. Like what the OP said banned members know how to create new accounts with new email addresses via a VPN network so email verifications at this point is useless. SMS verification although it might be more effective I don't think that new users would like the idea giving away their number to register an account in a forum, it might even discourage potential good members to even join the forum. Honestly I really don't have any good idea on how we will separate the spammers from good members when it comes to account creation without sacrificing the convenience for all of them, including the people who are not spammers in the first place.
2411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Initiative Q be the New Bitcoin? on: December 02, 2018, 10:12:42 AM
This is not the first time a project has promised to revolutionized the payment system in the world. And this is also not the first time a project developer has talked trash on Bitcoin (or any other cryptocurrency) just to promote their own project. Initiative Q is just like any other sub-par projects out there that is promising their investors that they will earn from them, and even though they are not calling themselves as a cryptocurrency, what they are offering are units called Qs which at on its own has a value.

They can call it whatever they want but what they are doing is basically launching their own cryptocurrency using their invite-only scheme to make it look more "exclusive" for its investors. I'm just tired seeing these kinds of projects mentioning BTC in a negative way to somehow make a point out of it.
2412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Half of all Phishing Sites Now Have the Padlock Sign on: December 02, 2018, 08:56:03 AM
I never had considered the Padlock Icon as a sign of a website being legit or not. The Padlock Icon is only a sign that the website is operational under the SSL/TLS protocol which means the data you are inputting even though it is encrypted will still be accessed by the one in the receiving end of the website, the only ones who will have a hard time accessing your info are third party users looking to hijack your info from a SSL secured website. There are other obvious ways to detect a phishing website such as looking for trust seals and certifications of reputable clients. Here is the website of footlocker for example, you will see at the bottom of their website the trust seals of both Norton and McAfee which if you click you will find more information about their certification for the website.
2413  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Signature Campaigns taxes on: December 01, 2018, 12:46:17 PM
If I have any earnings which come directly from cryptocurrency and I receive that coins in my personal wallet (not any online site with KCY) I'd really be a fool to pay any tax. I can spent my coins directly to pay services and products anywhere in the world, of course I will not buy a house or Lambo to draw attention of tax office.

All Europeans do not even know what is BTC, and you wonder why they use Euro instead of crypto? Sounds pretty dumb that you think converting fiat to crypto means avoidance of tax, we are talking about income from signature campaigns - they are paid in crypto and if they stay or become spended as crypto payment only tax user will pay is VAT.

However some people live in total fear of their governments, and they literally begging tax offices to take their money.
I have to agree with you. I myself won't report anything officially with regards to my signature campaign earnings as it is just enough to fly under the radar of our taxing bureau, what I meant about that is the amount of weekly earnings I receive from my campaign is also counted in the income tax bracket where citizens are exempted from paying tax in my country so I don't need to worry about breaking any laws.

Another scenario I am concerned with is the trouble it will produce if I reported my earnings in a signature campaign. The headache and time it will cause if the taxing department issued a requirement of proof about my "signature campaign earnings" will be too much for me. Of course I can't give no more than the spreadsheet link of the campaign I am participating as proof where I also need to to convert the BTC payment I receive in its fiat currency equivalent every time I receive a payment which honestly I haven't done so far.
2414  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Signature Campaigns taxes on: November 29, 2018, 10:28:41 PM
Maybe virtually they cannot see you evading your taxes but physically they can. The way they see how you are living in which in their eyes does not satisfy with your income makes them suspicious on how you can afford such lifestyle even though your income does not support it. This is how most of the tax evaders gets caught because of how they live which contradicts on how much they earn.

3. Simply spend bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency that you earned without ever converting it to fiat because cryptocurrencies are usually not taxable in most European countries.
Is there really such tax exemption? Because I wonder why all europeans still use Euro if they can avoid taxes if they purely use cryptocurrencies as mode of payment. Sounds dumb isn't it? Because if there is such law that exist no one will be using Euro today in order to avoid taxes.
2415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: November 29, 2018, 05:02:08 PM
As a Minnesota Timberwolves fan I am very satisfied with the results against the Spurs. We rarely see a dominant games like this being performed the team a 128-89 game shows us that the team is capable of winning big gaps compared to when we have Jimmy Butler where we rely on hos game winning shots often. The biggest margin in the game that the Wolves has given is 39 points which was really unbelievable for me. One annoying thing to keep in mind is Thibs is still not using the bench even if the lead was big there is really no point on using your starters if you know that the opponent won't catch up.
2416  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks must adopt new technologies to survive an ongoing “extinction phase” on: November 29, 2018, 04:02:12 PM
For a bank it is indeed necessary to improve their technology, from what I understand it is because the desires of the customers are also increasing so inevitably their features and technology must be able to keep up with that desire. About technologies like what to used I didn't really understand, even though blockchain technology was good but I didn't know whether it was suitable to be implemented at their bank.
It is not actually about their desire but banks need to improve it first before the customers even get to the point demanding it. Because once they demanded a certain feature and you can't deliver it they will most certainly move to a bank where the feature is already available. So for banks to stay competitive they really must invest in their R&D as even though Banking is a traditional business they must still find ways on how they can improve their technology to move forward with what we have now.
2417  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-27] Billionaire Tim Draper Unfazed By Bitcoin Crash, Boldly Vows Crypto on: November 29, 2018, 02:41:56 PM
It is easy to be optimistic for now because he still have a little over 4 years left for his prediction to come true. This optimism that he is bullish to BTC is because he is confident enough that he believes too much on his prediction coming true. But if we are not even close to 20,000$ by 2022 he will be eating his own words or have come up a brilliant reason why it didn't happen in the first place. The sad thing about his prediction is all of it are just bullish sentiments without any logical reason backing it up, which is pretty unreliable for a lot of people.
2418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 29, 2018, 01:34:27 PM
I feel they should aim to win the Europa League to qualify for champions league, as their domestic form is not that great, though they're only a point away from top four spot I feel they should target Europa cup glory.
Teams participating in the Europa Leagues doesn't really need to win the trophy in order to qualify in the Champions League, it will always depend on how they finish in the standing of their own league in the country. Right now since Italy is ranked # 3 in the UEFA coefficients they have 4 teams participating the Champions League while they have 3 teams participating in the Europa League. A.C. Milan has two ways to qualify for the Champions League the first one is to finish the in the top 4 of Series A and the second one is to win the Europa League.
2419  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: lost Bitcoin in electrum wallet on: November 28, 2018, 07:20:38 PM

This is how every exchange handles funds.

You deposit to a hot wallet and they consolidate inputs. This is done so determine how long the tramsacion should need to confirm, if a high amount is set to a hot wallet, the confirmation will happen much faster
Yeah I know that as well, but based on what I have read so far even if the transaction is already confirmed the OP still doesn't see the funds reflecting in his account. So if we don't have more details about his situation we really don't know what exactly had happened to his confirmed transaction, and I am just giving the OP one of the possibilities on what had happened with his BTC.
2420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 28, 2018, 06:37:41 PM
Rome-Milan-Lazio all have a chance of champions league and that will create a great match and future entertaining games for us. We know who will win the league already so the matches between these types of teams or regulation danger matches are much more fun.
I really hope that A.C. Milan will be one of the four teams in Serie A who will be qualified for next season's Champions League as Europa League isn't really enough for us fans out there, it has been too long now. It is great to see that the Serie A is gently climbing back up but I don't see them overtaking La Liga or Premier League anytime soon, it will always depend on how Italian teams will play in the Champions league particularly Juventus who has the best shot of winning the title, if they performed well we might see some more big names coming into the league.
