A tamper-proof, transparent, democratic public ledger.

It is in no way democratic as there is no "voting" or "majority rules" but simply "the rules of the software" (is the >50% attack the reason you included that word?).

So perhaps just: A tamper-proof, transparent public ledger.

If a bunch of miners that had a hashing power over 51% decided to change something bamzo.. it is changed.  This is the reason I mine.

IMO if you are a "bitcoiner" and you are not mining you are not a bitcoiner.
Totally disagree and I am a miner, plenty of other ways to be a bitcoiner, you can run and operate a bitcoin business or exchange without mining and definitely be a bitcoiner. (just one example)

I think all "bitcoiners" should be protecting the network.  ROckminer.. $100 and you can help protect it.  Shoot kijiji and you can get an S3. Although the "new r-box" doesn't use much power so it' is great!

Seems that hes doing a good job

2426  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Rush on: April 06, 2015, 07:56:21 PM
Theres that saying about the california gold rush.

You can sell gold miners pick axes, or choose to find gold. Guess which one got rich? Its obviously the people who produced the gold miners pick axes, probably bought gold when left over money as well.

Its better to know this, then just go buy a miner and expecting the same concept happen to you. Build a faucet, build something thats for profit so you dont need to predict when bitcoin prices will be up or not.

But, just make sure you dont end up being: Butter Fly Labs

The thing is they never talk about the guy that took out a huge loan to start up a pick axe busniess just as gold collapsed.. he.. did not do well.
2427  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Rush on: April 06, 2015, 07:55:09 PM

Mad Bitcoins is awesome! Tongue!
2428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoins get confiscated? on: April 06, 2015, 07:52:31 PM
A red-hot soldering bar in the ass of bitcoin holder makes miracles. )))

We are assuming that most modern governments (at least the US) wouldn't use violence/threat of violence to extract information.
At least from what we have heard until now, the seizure of bitcoins has been due to mistakes committed by the holders.  Smiley

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH

LMAO OHH BAHAHAHAHAHA.

That was a good one.

(Yes they will and they will use things you can't even imagine in darkest depths of your brain)

The guys in charge and their pigs are the worst types of humans on the planet.. many get off to watching you scream in pain.

2430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road is a Blessing in Disguise on: April 06, 2015, 07:28:13 PM
Im not into any kind of ilegal drugs, but I guess Silk Road gave a lot of publicity to Bitcoin, I started because of the first Silk Road news. All publicity is good publicity after all.

It is not about that.  It is about freedom that we are currently fighting for.. lady freedom is on her death bed.. satoshi saved her from death it is our responsiblity to revive her.
2431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to bust a myth. Paper wallets are less secure than normal encrypted wallets on: April 06, 2015, 02:10:09 PM
What is I create a paper wallet on a harddrive that has never and will never touch the web?

An encrypted paper wallet.

And then you have the anal retentive bungholes that just come back with capitalism. Well shithead, capitalism is what really ruined the US.

 Roll Eyes

How can such a country with all it's power, technology and resources be kicking families out of their homes because the banks were highly un-regulated and given bad loans?

The banks were forced by the government to give loans to those who did not really qualify.  But if you want to blame the banks, feel free.  The owners of the banks will appreciate that I'm sure.  You know those owners, right?  They are the working class families you claim to want to protect.  They hold ownership of these banks through shares in pension funds.

... so much no.. just  god Fing no..

The banks pushed for the govs to "force them" to give out those loans so they could seize the property for nothing...  It was/is theft alas most people are just to damn stupid to figure anything out.
2436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone has heard of bitcoin! (actually.. most still haven't) on: April 01, 2015, 08:11:30 PM
I dont think it makes sense to ask at a gas station or 7eleven. But for online purchases
it makes sense to politely ask if they plan to implement bitcoin payment at some point
in time.

Oh but it does, will the accept it no, but it will plant the seed in their head.  When they hear the word bitcoin they will get curious as they remeber you menitoning it.

The media is all about conditioning us to think..we should use these tatics our selves.
2437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a feeling BTC has slowed down a bit? on: April 01, 2015, 07:27:53 PM
We are in the 1994 phase of the interenet IMO.

The phase everyone thought that is as far as the web goes.. no where.

I currently have a phone in my hand connected to the web more powerful than any computer from 94.

Hands of steel, HODL your wealth in your own hands.
2438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can I keep MYSELF from spending my BTC in the next 5 years? on: April 01, 2015, 07:26:29 PM
That's a very bad idea, you should always be able to spend your money, we never know what the future will bring, you might not be here to spend that money in five years...

This.

Just make it so it's not super easy.

Make a paper wallet with an OFFLINE COMPUTER(I cannot stress this enough) put them there.  The few steps should stop you from any impulse buys.
2439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Everyone has heard of bitcoin! (actually.. most still haven't) on: April 01, 2015, 07:25:03 PM
Everytime I pay for something I always ask if they take BTC.  Try it, see how many people ask you what the hell you are talking about.

Furthermore most of those people that actually have heard of it think there is some Bitcoin CEO..
2440  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 week target $160 on: April 01, 2015, 07:17:50 PM
I freaking hope it goes farther I want sub $100 btc.
You realize that if something like that will happen MOST of the people will be selling everything, and it could be the end of bitcoin? We may not recover after this.

I have a feeling it would/will be the final capulation.

There are only so many bitcoins that can be sold.

Although it does seem anytime it dips below $200 everyone and their mother start buying sooooo perhaps we never will see double digits again.

I am prepared for both.
