1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BUG] Satoshi Nakamoto moving his coins at this moment !!! on: August 04, 2015, 08:20:20 PM
blockchain and their issues. I don't feel safe storing my btc there anymore. time to switch to electrum.

You only use one wallet type... why?

Blockchain.info is the perfect "spending" wallet.   Using it for cold storage is a terrabad idea though, terrabad.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Kinds of Bitcoin Courses Would You Like to See? on: August 04, 2015, 08:16:57 PM
I'd like to see children taught about bitcoin at school from as young an age as possible. We need to educate the younger generations as it's maybe too late for stubborn, older people in positions of power etc.
I don't know how possible it is but I'd like to see children taught about bitcoin maybe within the next 10 years.

This I agree with completely.  We should be teaching them about money... rather interesting we don't.. probably because shit would hit the fan and well I don't know any teachers that actually understand money.

Gold standard? what?

Our money is backed by gold you tool.

and so on lol.
1663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What wallet should i use? on: August 04, 2015, 08:14:08 PM
So i recently saw a bug with blockchain.info  and im a newbie on bitcoin wallets so i decided to move my wallet from there. I would like to use a wallet that is safe and that can be recovered in case of loosing it or something like that. Any suggestions what should i use?

I think it mostly depends on the amount you intend to keep in a wallet. Web wallets should be considered 'hot', holding just enough for what you need to use daily (check out Coinbase). Mobile wallets are also considered hot (check out Bitcoin Wallet on Android, Breadwallet on iOS or Mycelium). Any considerable amount of coins should be stored in a 'cold' wallet - one without access to the internet (check out Paper Wallets, Hardware Wallets or specialized software like Armory).
i checked out armory software though it says that i should store the cold wallet on a computer without internet access and i have only one pc... paper wallets are not ok for me as i can easily loose it and hardware wallets need buying stuff. also any ideas about multibit? is it also a hot wallet?

Sure it is, run bitaddress.org on an offline computer, encyrpt it, print the thing to PDF, copy the PDF EVERYWHERE.

Bam, offline.  As long as you use a good encryption method and a good passphrase.  bitaddress.org comes with the ability to encrypt and decrpyt.

HONESTLY, bitcoin-qt offline will work just fine as well.  Don't need the blockchain to create private/public keys.
1664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What wallet should i use? on: August 04, 2015, 08:13:10 PM
If you really want to safe wallet, you need to use paper wallets or hardware one
If you afraid to accidentally lose your paper wallet, put it in safe place that you won't lose it (safes or maybe your own wallet)
Or spend some money to get the hardware one  Wink
Good luck keeping your btc safe

You can use Bitcoin QT, it just needs to be done on an offline harddrive.... so does creating paper wallets...

If you run  bitaddress.org on your home computer connected to the web, accept some one else knows your private keys even if it's encrypted. Even if you download the webpage, disconnect the computer, run it and reconnect it, I'd still consider them gone.  THe maleware will just forward it after you reconnect.
1665  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What wallet should i use? on: August 04, 2015, 08:11:27 PM
If you create the wallet on a harddrive that is connected to the internet it is a "hot" wallet.  If the harddrive was disconnected from the web and is reconnect it is a "hot" wallet.

IF the harddrive you create the wallet on has never touched the web and WILL NEVER touch the web it is a "cold" wallet.

A "wallet" is really only a string of 52 characters.  The idea is to create those characters on a computer that is completely offline and always will be, encrypt those characters and then you can save them all over without fear, if your encyrption is up to par.
1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Original Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoins Moving First Time on: August 04, 2015, 07:57:21 PM
Blockchain.info is a piece of crap. No one should be using them. Coins aren't safe on their wallet either.

It's AMAZING for a spending wallet Tongue!!
1667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed on: August 04, 2015, 07:31:44 PM
This is a freaking awesome idea!!! Didn't know about this until QuickBT mentioned the yare trying to intergrate this so they can sell more coins.

I don't get how the company.. "company"? makes any profit..?
1668  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NUCLEAR IS GREENEST TECHNOLOGY CLAIM 65 TOP BIOLOGISTS on: August 04, 2015, 07:30:02 PM
Nuclear is the best way to assure a long term trace of having boiled water. I very dislike nuclear technology. It's a very sure way to have the best case example of why so called public-private partnership are Huuuugggeeee scam.

the public will :
- not be able to decentralize electricity production-storage-innovation due to the low subsidized cost of nuclear energy.
- have to carry the cost of subsidizing the energy production
- will not be able to maximize the conversion of watts to $.
- will not be able to get the fuck out of there (where ever it may be) on a timely fashion (private jet rdy).

the private will:
- not be able to decentralize electricity production-storage-innovation due to the low subsidized cost of nuclear energy.
- will benefits from the low cost of subsidized energy
- will be able to maximize the conversion of watts to $
- will be able to get the fuck out of there (where ever it may be) on a timely fashion (private jet rdy)
- will monster naked short those fç"* shares in case of event
- will profit from the construction, running, disposal of the waste and removal of the operation once old.
- will profit from the increase need of defense budget
...

but more generally speaking it's the lack of decentralization that nuclear technology induce, the inherent system risk of having a centralized energy production, and the inherent systemic risks of the nuclear energy production (a few mistakes and the nearby cities are ghosted faster than... forevermore... ). However I agree that the job that the nuclear industry does is quite interesting. How they have successfully dominate the news on this story... it's ironic that they can't master radioactivity as easily... the soviets learned it the hardway btw... but seems to have too forgotten what they may be ready to inflict upon generations of unborn for the sake of a few lights more at night... 1. decentralized energy production 2. decentralized energy storage... that will be the true alt Cheesy.

edit: lame me, biologists Cheesy.

edit2 : it's funny to think that life on earth is water based and that apparently nuclear wastes mix well with water... who knows, the space is wide and dark... only mind conquered by an out of earth life form can support such primitive technology. And frankly NT goes deeply against the philosophy of Earth as best space craft ever. At least now there is apparently still no need to wear a full nbc gear... if you want it hard go on the dark side of the moon or mars and beyond do your "innovations"-"science"-"wars"-"conflicts"-"pollutions".

edit3: you can still reduce a little (but if you get the "tail" it's anyway pointless) by imposing everyone involved to live 5 miles max radius around installations Cheesy.

not all tail event are the same...

Nuke generators don't have to be so insanely stupidly big...  100's of little ones might be the safest method actually.
1669  Economy / Economics / Re: Can economies grow ad infinitum? on: August 04, 2015, 06:59:10 PM
no it cannot, and this crisis it the best demostration, we reached the point where debts cannot repay themselves

their whole printing mania is coming to an end, but banks know that by reducing cost and fees on trasaction with blockchain technology they can keep printing for some time

This game could go on for a very long time.. the average person is a complete and utter fucking moron.. like I can't even describe how fucking stupid the average person is.

Yes, I agree, and it is very frustrating.  If I try and talk about anything, like really anything, be it fractional reserve banking, the government getting cornholed by goldman sachs, or even something simple like the Greenspan put, then people look at me like I am telling them I was abducted by aliens last night.

I am on the fence.  I don't know if people are really so stupid, or if they are willfully staying in their suburban bliss so they dont have to think about such problems.  Maybe they don't believe anything unless it is on fix news or msnbc or whatever.

As to the question, there are different factors.  I read a good argument once that the economic growth is limited by the price of gasoline, and that makes sense to me.  But also the shenanigans with interest rates and printing money, QE, etc, that stuff is increasing the money supply.  The end result is an asset bubble (to put it simple) that will pop sooner or later.  Right now this is a great benefit to anyone holding assets (mostly the 1%, who have greatly increased their share of the wealth in the last decades).  But those people will also be hurt the worst when it pops.  The thing that really pisses me off is that your average person such as myself, who only wants to go to work and earn a reasonable living, is screwed the worst.  It is like Chris Rock said, if you wife wants a divorce and gets half, and you have a million dollars, you will be alright.  If she wants half and you only make 30k a year you might have to shoot the bitch.  Its not that I hate the rich or anything, but I don't like the way things have gone.  Look at how much the average ceo made 30 years ago compared to the average person, and look now.  Look at how much the banks are making, but all they do is screw up our economy over and over.  Why do we let them make this kind of money?

I think most are just that stupid.  Way to lazy to look into anything, "it works just fine see I can use this $20 right here to buy some beer tomorrow you're a nut bag"...

Youtube "by the dip" It's rather hilarious and quite sad.

The stockmarket is the worst thing on this planet.. It allows people with money to hide how much stock they own and who they are shorting.... The ability to destroy or pump up companies with that power is insane.. Now you have like 6-20 families that can threaten a company or they'll short them into oblivion..   It's very easy to have those same families have over 50% share in every single stock on the planet.

Anyone else get a little excited after reading op? Wink

No human on the planet deserves this.  Death or corporeal punishment should be the only options available.

1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: The inevitable is upon us... on: August 04, 2015, 01:07:47 PM
I do not want btc to rise as i sold all my coins a month ago... and if it suddenly surges high than i will be pi**ed off. yeah im selfish lol but reality is that i do not think BTC will grow major until a couple years time. I honestly think that there would be another coin that will beat BTC in popularity and value.  BTC is the foundation of all coins and it will be the starter of something even better. I hope we all make a good earning from it.

The idea some alt coin will take BTC's place is such a joke.  The reason is the exact reason you accept $20 USD for payment, everyone believes it has value.

ALL Cryptocurrency users accept BTC has value,

Some accept altcoin 1
some altcoin121421
some altcoin 235432

and so on.

1678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to 220-240? on: July 30, 2015, 08:19:57 PM
What is the reason for this ?

Why do I require a reason?  This isn't harper land I shall ask as I please Smiley.

Hold down your horses and relax.

My question is simple, why do you think we are heading to that region ? Why not going up for example ?

Have something good to say, let it out, not, save it to yourself !!

Sorry didn't mean to come off as a douche.  Lots of new oppressive laws coming into play in Harper land aka Canada.. has me moody lol.

I really like your signature by the by.

Mainly.. although this is super silly.. the tea cup pattern completely fell apart lol.

I think perhaps the 220-240 range as the BTC price was there for months.

Appears we might be headed back to the 220-240 range again.
