1681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 50 BTC lost because of blank passphrase on: July 30, 2015, 07:28:05 PM
Can someone explain to me why anyone would even use a brain wallet? They seem like the least secure wallet out there, what would be the advantage?

How would one guess a random 15 word string, the words only ever input on an offline computer.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested (update: charges dropped!) on: July 30, 2015, 07:25:46 PM
The government has the right to ...

I disagree. Governments have no rights. They have powers. Sometimes stated as authority, but authority is in itself a contradiction.

This guy gets it.  The right LOL, no.
1683  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i know my private key? on: July 30, 2015, 06:00:54 PM

1684  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: thinking about making a bitcoin altcoin exchange site, is that legal? on: July 30, 2015, 05:54:51 PM
you can have your private server running the exchange on liberland, so no one will mess with you, no government can do anything about it

you should be pretty safe then even with fiat money

Not bad idea but liberland doesn't have an army.. Merica will decimate anyone without an army.. they are tyrnats and pigs.. not the people the "leaders".
1685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Classic Bitcoin Polls - What is your all time favorite Bitcoin wallet? on: July 30, 2015, 03:48:37 PM
im impressed how that much people still use blockchain.info wallet as i heard that its unsafe and even because of that it was removed from bitcoin.org also bitcoinqt wallet is ridiculously big who would waste 40 gigs on it?

I do and so should everyone that can.

More nodes = better security.

No need to be so mean to the perma bulls..
1689  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back on the slippery slope. on: July 30, 2015, 01:05:41 PM
If it was at $120 I'd agree with you Kun but it's not.

It has very clearly broken the heavy down trend.

1691  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Questions regarding ANTMINER U3 on: July 29, 2015, 07:40:17 PM
Number six
I think a direct order from bitmaintech may work.  Www.bitmaintech.com
Thanks for the suggestion but it requires at least 20 orders of ANTMINER U3 which I can't afford at the moment , but I will have this on mind , thank you Smiley

http://bitcoinware.net/

try them.
1692  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Do miners pay TAX over their earnings?? on: July 29, 2015, 07:37:57 PM
Don't feed the pigs your bitcoin revenue.
1693  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Has anyone bought a used S5 from Bitmain? on: July 29, 2015, 07:33:17 PM
Just quote from S5 Thread
you can search in aliexpress for new unit in around $450
Just unboxed a couple S5's I bought a while back and found one of them had obviously been used excessively.  It has soot all over the heatsink.  I have submitted a WTF email to Bitmain...I guess they really are going downhill Sad

Bet you it still works great for a couple years.. My S1 has been running full steam for 1.5 years now.

Why is it still running you might ask? I like burning money.
1694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the blockchain will be hacked on: July 29, 2015, 07:31:27 PM
I agree.  You could probably spoof the hash until you built up trust.

.. WHAT?
1695  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: July 29, 2015, 07:08:51 PM
Sorry boys, bear market is over, we won't even see $250 again.

Quite a bold statement. Made me remember the good old time when someone from speculation board made a side bet of btc dropping below 500$ when the "stable" price was near 800$ and a lot of people though that he was stupid delusional bear.

RAWR, yes it is quite the statement.
1696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coin.mx shutdown by federal government, top executives arrested on: July 29, 2015, 06:21:39 PM
I decided to make an account anyway because it looked like the simplest way to buy bitcoins using my credit card. fortunately I was not affected...do not leave your money on exchanges!

Yes, me too. I was in the process of verification since I was about to order from the foreign country, so they needed additional documents. Even they didn't know what was coming, poor bastards.

And thanks God that my verification took as long, I would maybe stay without my money.
I still can't believe that the customers won't get their coins/money back and that these coins will be seized by the US government.

People should launch a court case against america, take it to the UN.  The gov of America are utter bastards.
1697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCurrency User Base on: July 29, 2015, 06:20:04 PM
I know crypto is rather widely used these days, infact almost every i know knows what bitcoin is.

But ive been wondering, just how big is the Crypto Userbase anyone care to take a guess, or spin out some logic feel free.

Im just curious how many people are actually registered on some form of crypto service worldwide

Most people still have no idea what it is they have only heard of it...

The only reason people you know, know about it is because you talk about it. (This is the reason people I know, know about it).

Most people I know still think there is some Bitcoin CEO and you need to register an account to use it..
1698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain size on: July 29, 2015, 06:11:22 PM
It can currently grow at a max speed of 1mb / 10 min.............  It's not expoential...
1699  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the blockchain will be hacked on: July 29, 2015, 05:06:27 PM
What about Gavin Anderson, or anyone with access to the bitcoin live code? Could he (in theory) introduce risks to the security of the bitcoin protocol?

Why would anyone run that version? All of the nodes would have to download it and run it.

Doesn't Gavin & The Bitcoin Foundation introduce changes to the bitcoin protocol?

They purpose them.. They can't force BTC in any direction.
1700  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is the best/most current device for mining purposes? on: July 29, 2015, 02:48:18 PM
Mining quickly becomes unprofitable as difficulty increases. Also generally speaking there are some new 16nm and 3D chip printing coming out that would quickly make current gen ASIC's useless if that tech gets applied to the Bitcoin world.

Buy and hold is usually a better strategy, even after the post-2013 decline.

Difficulty has been pretty flat for over a year..
