2421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Asic chip Mini USB miner [Post if interested] on: May 06, 2013, 05:38:37 PM
I think this is a pretty sweet idea. How feasible is it though? Is this more at the 'hey this a good idea stage' or the 'hey I think I can actually make this it wouldn't be that tough' stage? Smiley
2422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: **Mincoin** Bronze To Bitcoin Gold [minute blocks] [scrypt mining] on: May 06, 2013, 02:23:03 PM
Can someone please tell me what I do with the two downloads on the original post to get this to start working Sad I really want to mine this coin!

Have you mined other coins?

It's a fairly easy process that is virtually about the same.  Two steps. Sign up for an account on one of those pools list in the first post. Download the program "guiminer scrypt".  Log in to the pool where you have the account and click on 'getting started' for the settings you need to mine.

MNC isn't a bad first coin to mine because it has a low difficulty so you'll collect full coins quickly.

Sounds like a very stimulating product  !

I recommend heading to Atlantis.
2424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining in 10 Years? on: May 03, 2013, 08:25:19 PM
Probably going to end up that AI's will start harvesting humans to mine BTC. The human slave minds will be processing information that is sent to them rendered as holographic simulations, but in fact, are actually hashing algorithm translations that ASICH's are really good at working out.

Hey actually I think that explains 'The Matrix',come to think of it.
2425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solomining Bitbar on: May 03, 2013, 07:56:51 PM
I have 4 7970s and 4 7950s plus a small botnet of 45 computers (my company's office). Smiley

Haha nice man, your own little botnet eh hehe... high five to you...

Was the lawsuit going to be for 75m USD or BTC ? Smiley

Ack that sucks to hear.  Had a low auto threshold payment of 2.5 so that's a lot of transaction frees Sad

Not that I'm bitter. I realize setting up a pool isn't the simplest thing to do in the world.. .

And thanks thep33t for your response on my 51% post.
2429  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bear market is on....Welcome to "Bearpocalypse Now" on: May 03, 2013, 05:43:15 PM
I'm not going to cash out all my coins into USD until 2014 at least.  2013 seems like an unlucky to cash out !

I think bitcoin is actually a more valid currency, and less manipulated, than most 'real' currencies being traded today.

Sure if you are looking at day by day, week by week, sure, good time to sell. See ya man !  Fine and fair point to leave.

I'm hanging in there. Couldn't care too much anywhere between $50 - $150 next few months. I never sell at a loss.

Please excuse my ignorance but isn't the 51% worry only if there is malicious intent? I'm a little unclear on this.

Said another way, don't you have to actually want to cause an attack if you have over 51% to cause problems? And if you aren't trying to cause damage, than it isn't a problem?

2431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else having issues with P2Pool and Feathercoin? on: May 03, 2013, 02:30:45 PM
Don't think the screen shot worked.

Could just be my work filter though...

Auto pay out has not been working for me either.

I've been doing immediate payouts (with no issues).

Edit: THat's funny Smiley  5 mins after posting this the first auto-payout worked. Did you fix it then?
2433  Economy / Speculation / Always look on the bright side, May 2013 crash edition on: May 03, 2013, 01:22:36 PM
Lot's of doom and gloom on the board today.

Thought I'd make a thread for any optimists to contribute to.

I'll get started on the sunny-side of the crash:

1) Cheap coins.

2) You aren't loosing as much money waiting for your ASIC to come from BFL and Avalon and those guys making them are more likely to want to ship you the product instead of mining for themselves, if you are a paranoid who believes this.

3) A correction was needed. Maybe it'll lead to a more stable price (however slightly) improving the BTC economy ?

2434  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Radeon HD 7950s for $150 NCIX on: May 03, 2013, 01:17:39 PM
Holy crap !  That's so cheap.

I'm down the street from NCIX so looks like I'll be absolutely forced to buy another rig now. What can I do?

This doesn't bode so hot for resale value of 7950's though. I wonder how many were made... ATI/ the graphics div of AMD must be keeping the company a live... too lazy to look it up but I'm guessing it's safe to say that.
2435  Economy / Economics / Re: FED refuses to return back Germany gold after an failed audit on: May 03, 2013, 01:13:23 PM
Many folks suspect Ft. Knox and other U.S gold reserves were raided a while ago.

I saw a terrific documentary on it, but damn it, can't recall what it was called. It might have been a part of 'Money Masters'.

But they hardly allow any audits of the reserves, there is very little accountability, and (obviously) no one really knows which element of our the great benevolent American Empire stole it.
2436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTC - Feathercoin - NETWORK HASHRATE: 4GH/s !!! on: May 03, 2013, 03:59:08 AM
Pretty incredible how quick everyone is to switch. That's a LOT of computational power to shift in a 48 hour period. Pretty impressive...
2437  Economy / Speculation / Re: A look at Google trends on: May 02, 2013, 07:06:16 PM
Not to hard to figure out.

BTC was receiving a lot of press.

So all the dudes and dudettes that heard of it & found it interesting decided to read up on it.

Now they know about it, and so it is not as interesting to many of them anymore.

People have short attention spans.

End of my story.

It'll be back in the press. I'm still waiting for the inevitable 'Bitcoin funds terrorism' news scare that I'm pretty sure will come one day, probably a few days before a big U.S regulation push.
2438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 02, 2013, 06:28:26 PM
I find it funny that merely 3 hours ago many folks were predicting the end of BTC, and that it would be at $60 by the end of the day Smiley

The old-hands around here must find the hair-trigger-panic pretty amusing as well.
2439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The rumors feathercoin BTC-e Exchange? on: May 02, 2013, 03:49:36 PM
Yup she's on BTCE now.

It's a a price of '0' right now -- pretty good deal !

Looks like it'll go live within the next 10 mins...
2440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 02, 2013, 03:10:39 PM
Geezz....what a dive!  Yikes . Might be holding my $110 coins for a long time...
