Personally, I find Lauda's insistence on gender neutrality refreshing. Sexual ambiguity is very today.

... but is it really ambiguous when she insists on being on top?

I like having the woman on top sometimes.

I don't suppose you would give any names?
Haha, we'll never know  Cheesy

... (moving on) they didn't run up the 2017 market. Or am I getting that wrong?
I guess we'll have to see what their ultimate plan is on that one. It looks to me like maybe the alt coin market was their real target so far this year. I would say that the vast majority of the leverage is in the altcoin market, as their floats are so much thinner and prices started much lower. That's how they ran them up so high pricewise.

But is Bitcoin in a bubble too? Well, if you pull back and look at the chart from about March 2017 onward... it would be hard to say that it isn't. The chart does sorta look like a bubble.

But then you ask "OK then, so where's the crash?" We haven't seen that event yet, if there is even going to be one. Who knows. Maybe after SegWit we get the real crazy run up.  Or "sell on the news." Again, who knows.

One thing I'm fairly certain of, is that we aren't just going to go sideways from here forever.  Grin

I discount the "sell on the news" event because there hasn't been much "buying of the rumor".

that's twice now that @empowering has come late to a thread promising laughs and activities

while his manifesto is now the most comprehensive, can he deliver it in real time?

can anyone else be bothered to expand theirs beyond a scattered line or two?

might mass changes of vote at this late stage stand Lauda a chance, which is something ~77% do not want?

I  admit I threw my hat in late, and I have had a busy few days.. but I DO have the time and the will - and I actually would like to do it... if that makes any difference.

I really enjoyed this thread over the years,  lets hope it remains a fun place to hang out, chew the cud, catch up on newses and check the forecasts of doooooooooooooooooom!

If so then it is all good.

I spend most of my time eyeballing charts..... I do still have a picture of Monkey on the wall.

Also see my signature.

I threw my hat in the ring somewhat reluctantly, feeling a sense of duty after the success of the (unmoderated) WO fork.

It sounds like you want it more, and FWIW I think you'd be a good moderator.

Speaking of governments.

Does anyone know of any software tools that currently exist to record things such as land titles and other governance types of remediation over the blockchain? I know that these things are theoretically possible, just wondering if anyone had an open source implementation or an open project.

Digibyte. https://digusign.com/

*Disclaimer: I have no position in DGB, nor am I planning to open one.

Will you publish who voted for who again? I am not really familiar with some of these names to vote for them. I had hoped Jimbo would be a part of it.

I will declare a poll winner by considering who voted what, not just by counting votes.
How would you handle a situation with a large number of new accounts voting? The decision to consider 'who' voted is a step in the right direction, but I'm wondering how you would execute it if someone were to be leading by a large margin with e.g. such votes.

Lauda...

Beat it you tyrant... you kept deleting R0aches natzi posts... and that guy is pure gold entertainment!!! Smiley ... Do you think people come to these posts for speculation?? You are dead wrong!!! They come for entertainment!!! Smiley ... No one care who said what, when or maybe. Because 90% of the people with money from these posts don't listen to each other anyway! So its just simple chit chat between millionaires and billionaires that like to mock each other!!! Smiley

No matter who the moderator ends up being, I hope posts like R0ach's are allowed to stand. The thread will not be the same without the occasional Hitler/anti-jew meme pictures scattered about.

I think I just realized this thing is going to be a showdown between a crooked officer and an alt of cockroach. This is why democracy only works on really smart people.  Embarrassed

If that was aimed at me, I'm flattered. I'll just clarify by saying I subscribe to the American notion of free speech and not the European version. I don't believe in censoring speech just because it makes a few people uncomfortable. That said, the thread isn't a place for hate speech or calls for genocide.

And speaking of R0ach, he's a staple of the thread - even if not a well liked one.

Sounds like some of those Syrian refugees have been taking advantage of Portugal's hospitality.

The most bullish thing going right now is litecoin, and it will continue to move up and outpace bitcoin's upward advance. I see bitcoin going into mid to high $4K either later this month or early next. Then correct and do another ATH in September. 5 digits sometime after the New Year. This upcoming RMBcoin out of China will likely come out later next yr or early 2019 and will drive bitcoin to $30K-$60K and beyond as it will need to be purchased w/ bitcoin. Might drive us into 6 figures, just sayin.

That sounds really strange if a government coin would require bitcoin to be acquired.

Do you have a link to reference that?

Anyone?

It seems to me that the point of a government coin would be to keep people away from Bitcoin.

Here's a little write up regarding the plans of Craig Wright, Roger Ver, etc.:

2453  Other / Meta / Re: What to do with the wall observer thread? on: July 02, 2017, 06:00:59 PM
I'm not a prolific poster, or well known personality, but I'd volunteer to help moderate. I started the "unmoderated" wall observer thread because I believe in the laissez-faire nature of Adam's thread.

I wouldn't want the responsibility of being the sole moderator. A small team moderation approach seems like the best idea to me, as long as the mods have a reasonably similar vision for the thread, and what's appropriate. That said, we'd need to agree on some rules. There are fairly strict rules listed in Adam's OP, but they were very loosely enforced. I'd rather see very relaxed rules that are strictly enforced.
2454  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the right number of BTC to own in order to become rich in 10 years?? on: June 30, 2017, 08:15:59 PM
I usually don't post in such silly threads but wait guys, what gives you guarantee that bicoin's price will grow? Hope everyone here knows how changeable it is. So also there is a chanse it will fall. On another hand, for some people rich is millionare, for some - billionare and etc, so this isn't correct termine. Forget future dreams and think on current real time.

You can't fight the future. Either bitcoin succeeds or we're all screwed anyway.
2455  Economy / Economics / Re: What do these new people getting rich off crypto mean to the economy at large? on: June 30, 2017, 05:20:12 PM
Every major technological revolution creates a new generation of millionaires/billionaires.

This one is unique in that it will benefit everyone. In fact, the very poor may benefit from Bitcoin the most.
Bitcoin will greatly reduce monetary friction. For instance, it greatly reduces the cost of sending money internationally.
Bitcoin will ultimately spell doom for the "old world" monetary system we currently use. No longer will we all be taxed by central banks in the form of inflation.

Anyway, on the actual thread: The price seems to be wobbling in nowhere's land. The uncertainty is in the air. Everyone is just watching, nobody has no clue what is going to happen. The outcome is anyone's guess. Let's just hope there's no hardfork or anything stupid because the crash could be epic.
True.  SegWit activation could be imminent, then we'll see the price moon.

I'm interested in seeing the interplay between BTC and ETH if (when) segwit activates. I would hope that enough people have been burned by ETH now, that it will decouple, and FOMO on BTC will not carry over to ETH for a while.
2457  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer: BTC/USD Price Tracking and Discussion 2.0 (Unmoderated) on: June 30, 2017, 03:39:11 PM
I like the idea of free speech! Thats more in keeping with Adams original thread.

Agreed, but it won't be unmoderated - the old one was and this will be.

Still, Meuh is far too heavy handed for me.  May the best fork win.

I will follow this for now...

Agreed. I believe we need a bare minimum of moderation. Adam was pretty much the perfect mod.
After having two posts deleted within the first 4 pages (one relevant to speculation, one not so much), I felt compelled to start a new thread.

I'd play with this ransomware.

Reusing Zclassic's blockchain seems like a scam for me. Undecided

I would've preferred Zen to have a clean launch on a brand new chain, but I don't see how you could think it's a scam.

Zclassic was fairly launched. Zen was fairly distributed to the Zclassic holders up to the chain split.

If one had 84 coins and wanted to setup 2 nodes, I'm thinking you could:
  • Set up software on a cloud server as per the secure node setup guide
  • Clone the first instance that was created
  • Send 42 Zen to each node

Is that about right?
