2441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was not wrong to bought bitcoin. on: January 13, 2021, 04:51:20 AM
I bought Bitcoin a few days ago for12 thousand dollars.  At that time the price of one bitcoin was 28 thousand dollars.  At present, the price of Bitcoin is 37 thousand dollars.  Which is really good news for me.  I made a post after buying bitcoin to see if I made a mistake in buying bitcoin.  I was convinced that I had done nothing wrong and that it was now clear.
Below is a link to my previous post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5305436.msg55985225#msg55985225

So the price was $28,000 per coin when you made the purchase, which means that you received 0.42 BTC in your wallet. You don't seems to have a plan on what to do with these coins yet. First you need to decide whether you want to go for short-term, or long-term investment. In case you don't want to hold your coins for too long, then you can set your stop-loss target as well as the target for profit booking.
2442  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "Happy" Anniversary Covid-19 on: January 13, 2021, 04:39:25 AM
What happened to the "herd immunity" theory, that was proposed by the Swedish researchers? They were claiming that rather than imposing lockdowns and social distancing, if people acquire herd immunity, then the pandemic will be over in 3-4 months. But one year has passed and Sweden is still reporting daily deaths from COVID 19. And now they have started the country-wide vaccination as well, with 80,000 given the first dose till now. Till date, Sweden has reported 9,667 deaths from the pandemic, while the neighboring Norway and Finland have reported 482 and 602 deaths respectively.
2443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry guys.. Bitcoin is not for our day-to-day transactions. on: January 12, 2021, 01:10:11 PM
People need to understand that under current scenario, Bitcoin is more useful as an investment asset rather than as a mode of payment. Anyway, who want to make payments in BTC, when it has appreciated by close to 300% during the last four months? For grocery shopping and all, what you need to do is to convert some of your BTC to gift cards. You can use these gift cards for shopping. Grocery items are priced in fiat currency anyway, and therefore it makes hardly any difference.
2444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 12, 2021, 12:59:49 PM
Chirs gale will play for Quetta Gladiators in this year's 2021 PSL. Quetta sign up Gayle, Lynn joins Multan for PSL VI.
That is very good news for the Quetta team and also more international popular players are now willing to come to Pakistan and play in PSL.

Lynn is a very good addition to the PSL, but as far as Chris Gayle is concerned, I have to say that his good days are well behind him. If they really want to attract the international audience, then they should go for the crowd pullers such as David Warner, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Glenn Maxwell. But these players don't come cheap and may cost the franchises upwards of $1 million.
2445  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Capitol Stormers Are Now On No-Fly List And Crying At Airports on: January 12, 2021, 12:46:14 PM
100% deserved. What were these guys thinking? Rioting in the capital and all is going to be fine? I really enjoy these short instagram clips of people getting kicked out of the airport because they were part of the riots. I mean people actually died there, it should definitely have some consequences.

I agree that they deserve whatever they got. But let me remind you, that people died during the BLM protests as well. Shops were looted and petrol bombs were hurled at the cops. And as far as I know, the BLM protestors never faced any such issues and are still treated like freedom fighters by Biden/Kamala. If the capitol rioters are terrorists, then so are the antifa rioters in the BLM rallies.
2446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold out my satoshi on: January 12, 2021, 12:36:09 PM
That was very bad time for me, when i sold out my Bitcoin. When bitcoin price was 9k+ usd, then i sold out my all Holding Satoshi for my personal problem. But now current price of per Bitcoin is 41k+ usd.

You can check my previous posts. For a brief amount of time in 2014-15, I was unemployed. In order to cover my expenses, I had to sell a majority of my coins. Most of the coins I sold at very low rates, such as $200 or $250 per coin. At least compared to that, your potential losses look minuscule. Take my advice. There is no point in regretting about what you had done in the past. You need to move on.
2447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 12, 2021, 12:26:35 PM
I will be surprised if India is able to pull a draw in the next match and if India wins or draws the match then Ajinkya Rahane should be the full time captain in Test matches.

There won't be much surprise if they manage to do that. Apart from the first test, the Indian team has performed exceptionally well in this series. A win in the last match would be the perfect ending to this tour. And Ajinkya Rahane should get full marks for his captaincy. He played a large part in winning the second test as well as in drawing the third. Kohli's position is under real threat.
2448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When This Scam Will stop?? on: January 12, 2021, 07:47:59 AM
Don't trust someone blindly, just because he is having the copper membership. Scammers are very innovative nowadays and at least some of them won't mind spending a few hundred bucks so that they can scam ten times that amount from the unsuspecting users. Also, I would even request everyone to be cautious even with old user accounts. There were incidents where inactive Hero/Legendary accounts were hacked and then used for scamming.
2449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 12, 2021, 07:37:49 AM
Now everything is in confusion which most of the efficient team members are facing problems with injuries, this will strongly affect the Indians. For the final Test, they need to choose the Indian team wisely with a strong lineup. Otherwise, the Aussies might trounce the Indians.

LOL.. do you still believe that the Aussies will be able to "trounce" the Indians? It was the other way around in the second and third tests. Despite the injury woes, Indians managed to hold Australians to a draw in the third test. They were missing their top players such as Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami. On top of that, Jadeja and Pant had serious injuries while many of the other members in the paying XI had to deal with minor injuries.
2450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: January 12, 2021, 07:13:35 AM
I trust both projects, BNB is a Centralized exchange token and it's supported by great team that cares about the future of crypto itself, I could hold bnb token for long term without worrying about losing money, Ethereum is the second best as we know it, the difference between this two is decentralized and smart contract from ETH.

If ETH was truly centralized, then it should not have had a premine. Also, don't forget what happened after the DAO theft. The Ethereum foundation froze the transactions and reverted them. These things don't happen with decentralized cryptocurrencies. And regarding BNB, it is basically an exchange token. But till date, they haven't taken advantage of the centralized nature to freeze funds or to ban users.
2451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: January 12, 2021, 07:03:25 AM
This is why the Indian Super League is different from all other leagues. The team at the top has no rivals. If you check the past seasons, you will see such incidents. And there are still many more matches left this season. I think Mumbai City will be at least 15 points ahead of the third team in the points table at the end of the season.

One of two teams dominating the league is not an old phenomena. If you look at the English Premier League, or the Bundesliga, you can see that the few top teams completely dominate the tournament. If the same is happening in the ISL, then it is not necessarily a bad thing. Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan have the potential to become some of the strongest football clubs in Asia.
2452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 12, 2021, 06:52:12 AM
I think the ICC should take the necessary steps so that the smaller teams don’t get lost. Because the more countries participate in the game of cricket, the more interesting cricket will become. The ICC should organize more series between smaller teams so that they can at least survive. Maybe one day a smaller team will come out on top. As has come to Afghanistan. Afghanistan now has the ability to beat teams like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.

The ICC is primarily a money-minded organization and unlike the other sports bodies such as FIFA or FIH, they don't care much about the well being of the sport or that of the players. There was a golden opportunity to increase the popularity of cricket, by including it within the Olympic games. When Jagmohan Dalmiya was the ICC president, talks with the International Olympic Committee was proceeding well and everyone were hopeful that cricket would have been included in the Olympic games from 2012 onwards.

But then the combination of Sharad Pawar/N Srinivasan took over the ICC and they along with their sidekicks from the CA and the ECB spent most of their time in cancelling all the Dalmiya-era policies. The big-3 grouping held power for less than a decade, but during this time they managed to push cricket backward by at least 3 decades. The damage they did to the game is still there and it will take ages to make a complete recovery.
2453  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: January 11, 2021, 06:09:23 AM
if we lived in ancient times, maybe it could be because our need at that time was only food and that was enough for hunting, or maybe bartering. but for today's increasingly sophisticated technology, it will be difficult for us to meet our secondary needs if there are no banks. As well as storing large amounts of money, banks also provide loans where we can make ends meet if our money is not there or not yet paid.

During prehistoric times, humans didn't had much use for money, as bartering took care of everything. But nowadays, we are living in a money-centric world. Whatever we do in our daily life is related to money-making, in one way or another. And previously there was no concept of saving money for the future. At the most, ancient humans stored a part of their agricultural harvest for difficult times. Now there is a need to save money, in order to survive during bad times. And for that, banks are necessary. Without the banks, it will be very difficult to store money.
2454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin? on: January 11, 2021, 05:59:46 AM
well if you sold at 41 you can buy at under 37.

but if you live in a tax country like usa. the hammer of tax eats all of that up.

If got in at 20 and sold at 41 making 21 i owe about 7 in tax.

so buying back at 37 is a loss.

I have to wait  until it goes under 33 to have made out.

So selling for me is costly as I have a 33% tax on profits.

If that is the case, then you should not sell your coins unless you are sure that they can be bought back at sub-20K levels. If you purchase them against 30K-33K, then how much profit you will get? There is no point in investing in BTC, just for 5% or 10% profit. I would rather target above 100%. Anyway, it doesn't make any sense to sell the coins now. Because in the long term, the prices may move further up. Mainstream adoption is gaining momentum, and unless there is no stinker from the SEC/FinCen, we should be comfortably on our way to 50K.
2455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Elections 2020 - very self such moderated on: January 11, 2021, 05:49:32 AM
Having supported Donald Trump till the election day on 3rd November, I have to say with a lot of pain that he is looking like a buffoon now. The left setout a trap for him, and he was stupid enough to fall for it. Even before the elections, there was widespread propaganda in the mainstream media that Trump would resort to violence, if the results go the other way. And now his actions have given justification to those predictions.

Whether there was electoral fraud or not is an entirely different thing. Even before the elections, it was well known that the postal ballot system is not really free from fraudulent practises. Trump should have taken the necessary steps before the elections, rather than whining about it after the elections. Afterall, the SCOTUS had a 5-4 conservative majority and he had a golden opportunity to make sure that voter fraud doesn't happen in the inner city areas. He refused to act before the elections.

And when he lost the elections, he tried to harm his own party. The GOP did exceptionally well in the house elections (gaing at least 15 seats from the Dems) and did somewhat better than expected during the senate elections (by winning senate seats in hotly contested states such as Iowa, Maine, North Carolina and Texas). But then Trump's refusal to help them cost the two senate seats from Georgia.

A peaceful handover would have been the best thing to do, and it could have resulted in GOP getting House/Senate majority by 2022. Trump, as a result of his ego refused to do that and now Democrats have the trifecta power.
2456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remember when ETH was $1400 a few years ago then crashed to $70 as BTC crashed? on: January 11, 2021, 05:37:32 AM
There needs to be a correction in the title. ETH crashed from $1,400 to $70 not because of the drop in BTC exchange rates, but as a result of the destruction of the ICO sector. By mid-2018, huge numbers of ICOs were turning out to be scams, and investors had lost large amounts of ETH and BTC by investing in these projects. It was the collapse of the ICO sector which resulted in ETH exchange rates declining to double-digits and the drop in BTC prices didn't had a major impact.
2457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum going to Die? on: January 11, 2021, 05:27:07 AM
Well said. The only people who are happy with higher Gas fees are miners, rest of all are suffering  but this is not good in the long Run for Ethereum Network and if the situation continues likes this Ethereum Network will become a liability. Hopefully,  Once Ethereum 2.0 is fully launched, the situation may improve but that remains to be seen.

Miners represent 1% or less of all the users. But if the fee is high, then the other users are going to shift towards coins with lower fee, such as Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. Also, online retailers who were thinking about integrating Ethereum to their platform would decide to hold their decision. And I am not sure how much ETH 2.0 is going to help. The first phase is already implemented, and I could not notice much of a change.
2458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: January 11, 2021, 05:17:07 AM
Yeah i equally checked this for myself but was happy becasue am a die fan of Logan Paul, those who want to see something good and huge could try Logan Paul odds but sincerely there might be a draw in this fight between these two professional boxers (i wouldn't call my favorite a YouTuber but a professional boxer).
The chances of draw is not out of the possibilities but I do not think that it will be a case for this fight, there will definitely be a winner here. This is also the first time that I saw someone like Logan Paul, you know how he filmed a dead body in Suicide Forest in Japan and made jokes about it right plus I find the guy annoying, you are right on your call though about him being a boxer, the Paul brothers are aiming to be a professional so we might as well call them boxers.

Yeah.. the lowlife made a YouTube video with the dead body of a suicide victim in Aokigahara forest. He removed it himself after facing a lot of criticism. YouTube, despite several appeals refused to remove the video from their platform and allowed Logan to earn good amount of $$$ from this video. His behaviour was outright disgusting, and if Floyd punches him to pulp, then I will be his biggest fan on this planet.

Less than 30 overs remaining now. Can they do it? The partnership between Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin has faced 87 balls till now and they look quite comfortable out there. Pat Cummins is struggling, and Nathan Lyon looks toothless with his ordinary spin. And there are rumors that Jadeja will bat, if it is required to save this match for India. I hope that may not be needed.
2460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ETH break it's ATH? on: January 11, 2021, 04:56:51 AM
We are not that far from a new ATH for ETH. If I am not wrong, the ATH is $1,345, which was reached in January 2018. Yesterday, Ethereum almost managed to touch those levels, but a major correction once again took it back to around $1,100. The question is not whether ETH will be able to attain another ATH or not. But the important question is whether it will be able to sustain those gains.
