I don't understand why these stupid celebrities have to go for shitcoins such as DOGE. Anyway, these sort of tweets once again confirms the IQ level of people who are investing in that coin. I mean, how can someone go for a shitcoin, that was created just to mock the whole idea of cryptocurrency? And in terms of technology, please let me know what are the advantages offered by DOGE when compared to other cryptocurrencies such as Cardano and Polkadot.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 14, 2021, 04:26:18 PM
Have you watched the T20 match between Pakistan and South Africa? South Africa lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 203 runs. But still, Pakistan won this match very easily. The South African bowlers bowled very poorly. Pakistan's two openers have batted brilliantly. Mohammad Rizwan is unbeaten on 73 off 47 balls and Babar Azam has scored 122 off 59 balls. This is the highest run in Pakistan's T20 history.

Ideally South Africa should have scored 220-230. But they lost too many wickets towards the end and the middle and lower order didn't clicked today. Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram gave them such an excellent start and it was followed by another quick cameo from George Linde. At one point, they were 141/1 after 13 overs. But their bowlers failed big time today. Beuran Hendricks went for 55 runs from his four overs.
1623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 14, 2021, 01:53:17 PM
Once again Pakistan started badly the 3rd T20I at Centurion  Huh  Look like they will lose this match because South Africa made 132 runs till now with only one wicket down. Janneman Malan made 53 runs in only 44 balls and is still playing. Very poor performance by the home team.
South Africa is striking at 10 per over and if they are able to maintain that and not loose much wickets they can score above 200 runs and this exactly the reason we cannot trust Pakistan all the time when placing a bet as they will surprise you and they too have the batting dept to chase the score as South Africa is also not having their best bowlers.

Looks as if South Africa will easily make a total of more than 200. Won't be surprised if they end up with 220-230. However both the openers are back in the pavillion now (Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram). And now Heinrich Klaasen and George Linde are also gone. Rassie van der Dussen is still there and if South Africa want to cross the 200 mark, then he needs to take the responsibility. They have depth in their batting, so I would say that 200 plus is very much achievable.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB will remain valuable for a long time on: April 14, 2021, 01:30:06 PM
The war between BSC and ETH haven't even started yet because ETH haven't roll out the gas fee update yet, until then we still don't know how Ethereum will perform against BNB, I won't be surprise to see ETH taking back it's glory though, so until then peace out

Yeah sure... I have been hearing about this for the last two years. To this date, the Ethereum developers haven't taken any concrete step to lower the transaction fee. They always play delaying tactics to temporarily satisfy the critics. On the other hand, the developers behind Binance Smart Chain (BSC) have worked hard to make their Blockchain as technologically advanced and user friendly as possible. Nothing is constant in the field of cryptocurrency. Users will eventually prefer a coin that is more user friendly, although this transition may not happen overnight.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 14, 2021, 01:24:32 PM
@Visnu.Reang yea even I read about this and for a while I was wondering if he was a new player, but then suddenly I recollected that he was an old player. Also I really like how the media finds a way to insert bitcoin name in this, and this also shows that player’s are aware of bitcoin which is good publicity for cryptocurrency.

Personally I would say that we should be happy about it. Any sort of publicity is going to be good for Bitcoin. As such this is not Bitcoin's problem. Corruption has been a big issue in cricket for the last few decades. And the ICC has zero interest in eliminating match fixing. They always punish the players, but when the franchise owners are involved in match fixing, they treat them with kid gloves. For example take the case of Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, whose owners were convicted of match fixing in 2015.
1626  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russia would ban miners from receiving rewards in bitcoins and cryptocurrencies on: April 14, 2021, 12:20:53 PM
I think that giving bribes and taking such steps just for the sake of tax evasion is wrong and even a little silly. Do not be offended, but it works like this: if you once went to such a dubious deal with the tax or law enforcement agencies, you fell into a vicious circle. Next month, the same people will come to you again and will already demand the same deal from you. (I remind you that this is illegal and the consequence may be criminal prosecution) There is a big doubt that it is justified to take such a risk for the sake of greed.

Zasad wasn't talking about evading taxes. He was talking about paying the bribes along with the taxes. From what I have heard, tax rate in Russia is quite low (10% to 20%). So taking out another 10% to 20% for bribes will still leave you with enough money in your pocket. Obviously it can become a vicious circle. But in countries such as Russia and Ukraine, entrepreneurs have hardly any choice, I believe. Corruption runs deep, involving the most powerful people.
1627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you think bear market will come? on: April 14, 2021, 12:07:48 PM
I don't think there will be a bear market in 2021,The market this year is very good, various investment institutions buy BTC,Ordinary people will accept btc more and more.

Already, there are talks of a "Bitcoin winter". But that will occur only after BTC manages to hit $300,000 per coin level, as per the experts. Bobby Lee (former CEO of BTCC) was the first to come up with this "Bitcoin winter" theory, but I don't agree with him 100%. A lot of people compare what happened in the past and claim that the same will occur in the future as well. We had similar "Bitcoin Winter" events in 2014/15 and 2018, but I don't think that it will repeat in 2022. Now the circumstances have changed, especially with the entry of institutions.
1628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB will remain valuable for a long time on: April 14, 2021, 11:49:49 AM
Maybe individual that are new to crypto might not care about Decentralized or Centralized nature. Binance is giving head-up due to the price but as soon as the ethereum POS is fully implemented, the party will be over and everyone will go back to the former way. I am not disputing the fact that BSC is not a good project but many will still prefer ETH over BSC if the issue of fee is solved

Most of the users nowadays are profit driven and not ideologically driven. Investing in centralized tokens and coins can be risky, but for a lot of people the level of risk involved is not large enough to deter from investment. And a lot of centralized cryptocurrencies are already in circulation, and very few users have faced issues with them (I am talking about XRP, USDC.etc). I guess for short-term investment BNB is going to be OK.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: April 14, 2021, 11:14:21 AM
many experts call this a dangerous fight for Manny because of his two years lay off and Bud coming out of a fresh win,

Manny Pacquiao vs Terence Crawford in talks for June 5 in Abu Dhabi

Honestly, I prefer the Mickey Garcia fight, Crawford is just too big and dangerous for Manny.

I remember the same argument before the fight with Thurman as well. Back then Thurman also had a very good record and it was argued that he is too big and dangerous for Pacquiao. But in the end, it turned out to be an evenly contested match which was won by Manny. Terence Crawford can be quite intimidating. But in boxing, agility and tactics matter a lot and I guess this is where Manny has the biggest advantage. I just hope that he agrees to the proposal for 5th June fight.
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 14, 2021, 10:46:55 AM
I don't think Rohit Sharma is an ordinary captain. He is as experienced as a batsman, just as experienced as a captain. Although yesterday's match was won by Mumbai Indians only due to luck. The Kolkata players became overconfident so they lost the match.

Can't say that it was purely due to luck. Krunal Pandya bowled 4 overs and conceded just 13 runs. That built up the pressure and then Bumrah and Boult bowled with a tidy line and length. Russell and Karthik were struggling out there and once Russell got out, KKR didn't had enough strength in their lower order to make enough runs and chase the target. Apart from the two openers (Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill), none of the other batsmen made a two-digit score for the KKR.
1631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people still buying XRP? on: April 13, 2021, 04:57:53 PM
This is insane considering everything else that is going on with the court case and the matter not yet settled.

I agree that the case is not yet settled. But we have already received a fair idea about which direction the judgement will come. SEC has come under severe criticism from the judge and she has sided with the XRP promoters. So in all probability the judgement will be in favor of the XRP team. Now the quesiton is whether SEC will go for further appeals after the judgement is made. I don't expect them to remain quiet, after all the humiliation they went through during the past few weeks.
1632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I convince people that Bitcoin isn't a financial pyramid? on: April 13, 2021, 04:32:37 PM
Why would you waste your time trying to convince people? As satoshi says:

“If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.”

If you think about who convinces us to be in this crypto world you will realize that people only have to understand how it works to convince themselves. No one has to be telling us the benefit or why it worth to be part of this movement.

Completely agreed here. Back in 2012, when I first entered the cryptocurrency sector, I was also trying to convince a lot of people. I was ideologically driven at that time, and wanted to end the exploitation by the central banks and achieve financial freedom. I tried to reason with my friends and relatives, but received ridicule and insults in return. That said, some of those who insulted me back then are now queueing in front of my house now, to learn how to invest in cryptocurrency.
1633  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Russia would ban miners from receiving rewards in bitcoins and cryptocurrencies on: April 13, 2021, 04:21:25 PM
Solving problems in court is much more expensive.
Better to work quietly and share with the right officials and controllers. This is how everything works in Russia.
I saw the news when mining plants were confiscated that were illegally connected to power grids. But these are isolated cases.

A friend from the former USSR once told me that only those who are from that region will understand how the things work there. I guess he is right. The former Soviet Union is a world apart and what you said may be right. The tax levels are quite low, from what I have heard. So sharing another 20% of so with some of the corrupt officials won't leave you with a hole in your pocket. But the question is how to identify the "right officials and controllers" as you have stated. Again, being someone who have never travelled to that region, I am at a loss to understand how this works.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 13, 2021, 04:11:07 PM
Today Mumbai Indians and KKR is battling it out and Mumbai Indians have a really good track record against KKR but i think they can change that in this match and start a new momentum  Grin.
That is a good prediction Kolkata Knight Riders bowled well and they were able to restrict Mumbai Indians for 152 runs and it is a good opportunity for Kolkata Knight Riders to win the match but Mumbai Indians have a really good bowling line up and i am expecting a good fight back from them till the end. The last 5 overs were a disaster for Mumbai Indians as they lost 7 wickets for 38 runs and Andre Russell put the dent by picking 5 wickets.

The way that the Mumbai Indians batted in the end was just pathetic. At one point, they were 115/3 (15 overs). In the next 5 overs they lost 7 wickets and could add only 37 runs. And this is the performance from a team which is widely regarded as having the strongest middle and lower order (Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard.etc). And I don't know what happened to Rohit Sharma. He was completely out of form.
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs covid 19? on: April 13, 2021, 01:49:03 PM
I think, since the coronavirus outbreak, the correlation between Bitcoin and the equities market has increased. For instance, on the 12th of March, the price of Bitcoin fell below $4,000 after the S&P Index in the USA saw a sharp decrease. The reason for this was because there was a sudden flight to liquidity, and so, a lot of investors had margin calls in Equity that had to be covered by liquidating other assets like Bitcoins into cash - to meet those margin calls elsewhere.

This is exactly opposite of what some of the users were claiming earlier. I have seen a number of threads here claiming that Bitcoin prices will go up whenever there is a stock market crash. But from what I have seen in reality, it is just the opposite case. Most of the cryptocurrency bull runs occur when the stock markets are also in good health. Even now, it is the same. After a crash during April-May, the stock markets have recovered very quickly and now the market indices are even higher than what we had before the pandemic.
1636  Economy / Economics / Re: Coinbase VS Binance Valuation - is Binance way undervalued? on: April 13, 2021, 01:35:22 PM
Binance has surpassed Coinbase by great stages, Binance has made tremendous progress over recent years and has become the first in the level of exchange platforms as well as various crypto services, Binance network is growing very large and the number of tokens that rely on Binance network instead of Ethereum.
BNB coin is now ranked third in the market and its price increases dramatically. It jumped from  20$ only a few months ago to around  600$ at the current time, in fact this is a very big jump and with the token burning continuing, the price will certainly continue to rise.

Binance and Coinbase have their own advantages and it will be wrong to say that one is superior to the other. But ultimately one of these two will emerge as superior. The competition between these two platforms reminds me of the battle between Google and Yahoo two decades back. Back then, Google emerged on top, partly due to intelligent acquisitions. Binance has also taken the same route, by acquiring small regional cryptocurrency exchanges.
1637  Economy / Economics / Re: I think Bitcoin is the biggest bubble and ponzi in the universe or it isn't? on: April 13, 2021, 01:23:31 PM
The biggest ponzi and bubble in the world is fiat currency without any argument. And it is a bubble which is worth $100 trillion plus as of now (and increasing at a rate of around 20% per year). Compared to fiat, Bitcoin is only worth 1% of that amount. And moreover, unlike fiat Bitcoin can't be created from thin air, as it is protected by the principle of controlled supply. Obviously for proponents of fiat currency, Bitcoin will sound like ponzi.
1638  Economy / Economics / Re: The Winklevoss twins worth $3bn Each for buying Bitcoin @ $8 with confidence on: April 13, 2021, 12:25:56 PM
Right, something doesn't add up with the numbers, this also means that they are worth more than what the media is saying because if what the media is saying isn't true which is probably most of the time then there is more than meets the eye, also do the twins split the bitcoin in half between the two of them?

If I remember correctly, they purchased somewhere between BTC100,000 or BTC200,000 when the prices were really low. They revealed their ownership sometime in April 2012 (when the exchange rate was around $5 per coin). They claimed to have ownership to 1% of all the coins in circulation, which would amount to around BTC125,000. The purchase price would be difficult to calculate, because they made the purchase in smaller installments, spread over several months.
1639  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-30 TheVerge - PayPal will let US users pay with Bitcoin on: April 13, 2021, 12:11:00 PM
Another major trading service connects such a function. This is great news for both PayPal stockholders and ordinary people who buy or sell something on this platform every day. The world is increasingly integrating the possibility of settlements in cryptocurrency into existing business - this factor supports the market and strengthens people's faith in these assets.

If you search a little bit, you can find that this forum is full of hate filled posts against PayPal. I won't disagree with these users, as bad service from PayPal was one of the reason why I purchased cryptocurrency in the first place (in 2012). But right now, PayPal has accepted that cryptocurrency is one of the biggest innovations in finance. I am not saying that we should start supporting PayPal all of a sudden, but there is no point in fighting PayPal at this moment. PayPal may be doing this for their own benefit. But in the end, we are also benefiting from the increased exchange rates.
1640  Economy / Economics / Re: The One World Currency: Is it Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2021, 11:41:24 AM
There is already a reserve currency, and that is not Bitcoin. Ever since 1945, the US Dollar is being regarded as the reserve currency of the world. There are competitors among the fiat currencies such as Chinese Yuan and Euro, but they haven't been able to make a lot of progress till now. Being a reserve currency is very close to being a universal currency. Now the question is whether Bitcoin can topple USD from that position. It is possible, but not immediately.
