1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 07, 2021, 04:55:29 PM
Pakistani truly deserve this won as great team effort today. A lot of positive things happen in this ODI series, congratulations Pakistan won the series 2-1 and the way they have played in all the three games. South Africa tried to settle but at the end has been comfortably beaten. Unfortunately Babar missed his hundred.

Agreed. There were a few negatives, such as over-dependance on Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman in the batting department and the poor performance of the middle order, but overall the team performed really well. South Africa is no longer considered as one of the top teams in international cricket, but it can be quite tough to beat them when they have the home advantage. Credit should also be given to the Pakistani pace bowlers, for their exceptional performance.
1682  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin mining in Texas - new trend - will Tesla follow on: April 07, 2021, 04:22:54 PM
Renewable energy such as wind or solar power cannot create stable reserves. Mining t in Texas is risky because it could be shut down.
The problem of Tesla mining Bitcoin is unlikely because Tesla has a mission to protect the environment.

I don't think that Tesla will try their hand with cryptocurrency mining. They don't want to deviate from their core domain (i.e the EV sector), and even when a part of the reserve funds were converted to Bitcoin, there was a lot of protests from some of the investors. Fortunately for the management, the Bitcoin investment returned profit for them. If it was the other way around, then they could have been in big trouble. The anti-Bitcoin investors were even planning to file lawsuits against the move, but the rally in BTC exchange rates discouraged them.
1683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 07, 2021, 04:08:25 PM
Really amazing fightback from the two South Africans (Kyle Verreynne and Andile Phehlukwayo), but in the end they didn't had enough depth in their batting to chase the target. And the Pakistani bowlers did well this time (unlike previous several occasions) to keep their cool. Who knows? If players like Nortje and de Kock was available, then South Africa could have probably won this game. But in the end, Pakistan proved to be the better team out of the two.
1684  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 07, 2021, 02:26:07 PM
I think that is because people are bored with the current situations, which so many government regulations prohibit them in the crowd. I heard that the new variant of the Covid virus is more dangerous than the old virus and it can spread fast than before, but I do not know about that. The economy in all countries is trying to rise by applying strict health protocols regulations to reduce the number of infected people from the Covid. I am sure that the virus will stop sooner or later, but we need more patience. The situations in my country almost the same as what happens in the other country. The government and all element trying to work hard for that.

Now this is the problem. People are tired of all the lockdown measures (it has been more than a year) and at the same time more dangerous strains have emerged. At least a section of the society would now refuse to obey the restrictions, because everyone is tired of lockdowns and social distancing. And this will make the situation worse. To add insult to injury, only a handful of countries (such as Gibraltar, Bhutan, UK and Israel) have achieved their vaccination targets.
1685  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-22 yahoo! - 'Bitcoin Winter' Could Last For Years After Price Hits $300k on: April 07, 2021, 02:11:46 PM
It is funny to see that these Bitcoin haters are getting really desperate. Think about this - they don't want to mention the fact even as per their calculation, the exchange rates are likely to rise to $300,000 (from the current level of $60,000). It is laughable that they are talking about the small correction which can occur after the prices increase by 400%. Ideally the title should be like this: "Bobby Lee claims that Bitcoin will reach $300K soon!"
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 07, 2021, 01:59:25 PM
The required run rate has now shot past 7 runs per over, but it is still possible for South Africa to win this match. Janneman Malan and Temba Bavuma are batting right now and the partnership between the two is worth 49 runs. The 5th bowler slot seems to be problematic for Pakistan, as Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz are unable to keep the pressure on South African batsmen. The problem for the Proteas is that their tail is too long, and starts with Andile Phehlukwayo at no.7.
1687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt season NOw on: April 07, 2021, 11:01:04 AM
With altcoins currently on fire, this has indeed become a field for shitcoins to hunt for prey, by taking advantage of the hype situation plus the large number of people flocking to invest without seeing whether this is worth investing in, the influence of YouTube cannot be denied. and maybe people will look for a lot of information through the media YouTube which presents information in the form of videos (even though we know that we cannot believe only what other people say) because they are lazy to read.

A lot of people (especially the new and inexperienced users) tend to believe in these videos which claim to promise 50x or 100x returns in a year's time. The shitcoin scammers just make use of the ignorance and greed from the investors. 100x returns may be theoretically possible. But investor needs to remind that such returns may only happen in one or two projects out of 100. IMO, rather than taking this risk, they can make the investment with some of the established coins (either Bitcoin, or ETH/ADA/BNB/LTC).
1688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRX and XRP are doing well on: April 07, 2021, 10:51:43 AM
3 months since the FUD was created, now XRP has increased by more than 300%. this is normal when it occurs in a bullish trend. during the last 2 months XRP price movements are actually still not that significant and now if we observe that many people are interested in trading on XRP because of the positive sentiment and also the news about the SEC is not much talked about. it's just FUD

SEC filing lawsuit against XRP was not a FUD. And despite the claims by XRP on the contrary, the issues are not over yet. Ripple went against the laws, and that is the reason why SEC targeted it. A number of cryptocurrency exchanges (especially those which are based in the United States and those primarily catering to clientele from that country) quickly delisted the coin. And from what I can see, they have only got a temporary reprieve. In the long term, there has been hardly any changes to the ground situation.
1689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP is Back on: April 07, 2021, 10:41:52 AM
For a long time the XRP exchange rate fluctuated between 3,200 and 3,500 Sat. After the recent rally, it now stands at 1643 Sat, which is more than 50% lower than the previous levels. And the biggest comedy is that even this level was attained due to the ongoing altcoin rally (which seems to be running out of gas) and I don't expect XRP to stay above 1200 Sat for the next few weeks. Ripple is a cryptocurrency that is only a few months away from its eventual death. I don't think that any short term spike can change it.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 07, 2021, 10:31:11 AM
Form what I can see, the absence of Anrich Nortje is showing in the match. Pakistan has made a total of almost 200 with the loss of just one wicket (that of Imam-ul-Haq). Their best two batsmen are at the crease now (Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam). Previously it was Nortje who gave them crucial breakthroughs, but this time the bowlers are unable to break the partnership between these two Pakistanis. Lutho Sipamla is like an eternal failure, and they keep giving him one chance after the other.
1691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 07, 2021, 10:21:24 AM
Already there was some kind of restrictions there in Maharastra and Mumbai city but still BCCI can influence the state government, here is what BCCi said about lockdown in Mumbai : IPL matches in Mumbai to go ahead despite Maharashtra lockdown

So lockdown many not affect the matches in anyway but the issue is people inside the biobubble tested as positive which means the entire team needs to take the tests again to play the matches.

I really don't understand why these idiots are so adamant about conducting the matches in Mumbai. It is not like they don't have quality facilities in other cities such as Hyderabad. Mumbai and the neighboring cities are like epicenters of the second wave of CoVID in India. And we already have one positive result from the Mumbai Indians biosecure bubble (Kiran More), which confirms that their precautions are not enough to 100% guarantee the safety of the players.
1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of so many cryptocurrencies? on: April 06, 2021, 05:23:43 PM
There are many different reasons we have so many cryptocurrencies: There are people with bright minds and awesome plans, they can develop many differen chains for many different purposes. Think about smart contracts as well and how many different things you can do with it, from defi to nft, from visa cards to ticketing purposes. Bitcoin will always be one true god although others are not worthless.

The problem is that so many people have plans that are very awesome, but once the ICO is complete and they get shitloads of money, they lose their interest in converting this idea to a finalized product. And then they get some other "awesome idea". So what they do, they put the first project on hold and go for the ICO with the second project. And once the ICO is completed, the same cycle repeats. IMO, we should stop supporting ICO of various projects that don't have a final product (or at least a draft version).
1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt season NOw on: April 06, 2021, 05:09:05 PM
Looks like altcoins are on fire now. It is always good to see technologically advanced coins such as Polkadot and Cardano going up. But one issue, as per my thinking is that due to the overall hype surrounding altcoins, many of the shitcoins are also going up by quite a bit. A lot of the new users are falling prey to scam projects, and unfortunately lot of them are going to end up with huge losses. Too bad that these users trust the social media much more than forums such as Bitcointalk.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Ethereum GAS fee so high? on: April 06, 2021, 05:00:38 PM
This limits the use of higher fees if the prices had to be slowed down and the post - service price has to settle again, consumption gas charges are very high, which is why it is so high. Investors and Ethereum users will still benefit from this environment. Let's see what will happen after ETH 2.0 launch.

ETH 2.0 is just a delaying tactic and it can be compared to Lightning Network in Bitcoin. Did Lightning decreased the transaction fee for Bitcoin? Even now only around 5% of the users are opting for Lightning. The same will be the case with ETH 2.0 as well. For those who are using ERC-20 Blockchain, be ready to pay higher transaction fee for the foreseeable future. There is not going to be any decrease in the fee once ETH 2.0 is implemented (BTW when they are going to implement it - 2022 or 2023?).
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: April 06, 2021, 04:20:27 PM
The stamina still there for Pacguiao and that's good with his age.

We really can't tell what will happened to this fight, but I'm also curious if Pacquiao will stand still as this new possible opponent of him' really have that strength to knock him down if he put he's guard down, but again, both side do the same power and skills it will depend
in how the fight turned.

He is still training hard and the ageing hasn't affected his agility or strength, as seen from the match against Thurman. However, if the fight against Terence Crawford actually goes ahead, then Pacquiao may be facing a much tougher opponent. I will be quite interested to know how the sportsbooks place their odds for both the athletes. The betting is going to be heavily biased in favor of Pacquiao (a lot more people will bet in favor of Pacquaio when compared to the same for Crawford).
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 06, 2021, 04:09:28 PM
There is trouble even before the IPL is started. A COVID 19 positive case has been reported from the biosecure bubble of Mumbai Indians. Former Indian international Kiran More (who is currently part of the coaching staff for MI) has tested positive for COVID. I don't know how someone can have a positive test inside the bubble. Because individuals are placed inside the bubble after multiple negative tests.
1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRX and XRP are doing well on: April 06, 2021, 01:54:58 PM
Nah, i think now is the best time to sell XRP. It's gonna fall to the pit again and people shouldn't hodl it.
Falling because the market correction is definitely going to happen, but I am also sure that when XRP falls there will be a lot of people to accommodate it, because right now XRP looks really fantastic in the market.

TRX is going down like a falling rock now. It is just a matter of time before XRP follows it. These coins purely survive on hype, as they don't have any real life usage. Whales are manipulating the market with these coins and that explains the ongoing pump. But I don't think that it is going to last for more than a few weeks. Those who are looking for investment with altcoins should rather make their moves with BNB, ADA, ETH and DOT. Opting for either XRP or TRX can be a big blunder at this point.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: April 06, 2021, 01:02:35 PM
Well.. there is always a possibility. Crawford is in his prime and he will pose a very tough challenge to Pacquiao. But I remember the Thurman vs Pacquiao fight, and the same was said at that time as well. A few weeks before the match, Thurman was the overwhelming favorite, with odds ranging from 1.4-1.6. But Pacquiao won the fight despite his disadvantages (with from and age). The lesson is to never underestimate Pacquiao.

I heard the same, there were a lot of concern that Thurman is dangerous for Manny Pacquiao but they are wrong, Pacquiao even fight Thurman toe to toe and you can tell how much stamina he has because even though he was also hit by heavy punches, he still trade punches and was standing until the end of the fight, and win the fight.

The most important thing is that the Pacquiao vs Thurman fight lasted for full 12 rounds, and even then Pacquiao managed to win (and that too by a considerable margin. Both Dave Moretti and Tim Cheatham had Pacquiao winning by 115-112). Before the fight a lot of people were saying that Pacquaio will not last for full 12 rounds and the only chance for him is if he knocks out Keith Thurman. But they were proved wrong.
1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP is pumping now. on: April 06, 2021, 12:58:25 PM
XRP is very famous for these type of bear traps. I am witnessing this pattern for many years now, with Ripple. A lot of investors get fooled and they lose their money after assuming that XRP is making a recovery. The ground situation remains unchanged for XRP. It has lost a large part of the user base and the acceptability has gone down due to the issues with SEC. Now they seems to have sorted out the issues with the SEC, but the investors are never going to trust them. So think twice before making investment with this coin.
1700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good recent bounty campaigns? on: April 06, 2021, 12:30:09 PM
I have posted about this before. But I believe that the only 100% safe method to avoid getting scammed with bounty campaigns is to limit your participation to those projects that are already listed in the market. Such bounty campaigns are very hard to find, but a few of them are there. Having a good bounty manager doesn't guarantee that the ICO will be a success. So if you want to make sure that you receive a real payment, then go for this option.
